This is a good section to post any known ARG's. If you wish to attempt to create an ARG, that is for the Create Your Own section.
By the By, ARG = Alternate Reality Game
BR1ngfOrth
BR1ngfOrth was a short-lived but intense ARG taking place mostly on 4chan's /x/ board. The story began in mid-May of 2009, when someone posted a link to a Bravenet guestbook with the ominous tagline "Post your number. It. WILL call." Initially, there was much suspicion regarding the site, and multiple anons suggested that it might simply be /b/'s latest trolling mechanism. After a time, many anons entered their number into the guestbook and began to report and record actual, received calls, all from numbers one digit higher than their own. Most of the calls were short and resembled fortune cookies in terms of their message. Some individuals reported being asked whether they had a question, or would like to receive their fortune. The voice on the other end of the line began babbling in an unknown language when asked obvious, direct questions regarding his identity. Even more disturbing, calls began to ask anons if they were willing to "pay the price" for a clear answer, the price rumored to be half of an individual's life.
Orgin -
The idea of a Bravenet guestbook collecting numbers to distribute somewhat creepy fortunes was the brainchild of a gentlefag by the name of Deathboy90. Early on in the ARG, a few anons discovered his e-mail address to be linked to the guestbook, but Deathboy promptly quit the internet, leaving them guessing. In reality, Deathboy90 was behind the calls, using an iPhone app to spoof numbers, and partially strangling himself for a raspy, creepy voice.
Oddly enough, Deathboy90 never intended BR1ngfOrth to become an ARG. Early conversations with helpers had Deathboy90 assuring them that he had planned said ARG for months, and had everything worked out. This was later revealed to be untrue. Deathboy90 was, in all seriousness, a Mormon teenager who sought to "raise energy" via the phone trick in order to summon Cthulhu.

ERWIN S. STRASBERG LETTERSThere are several theories on what the Erwin S. Strasberg Letters actually are. Some believe it to be real correspondence from a real person from a real event. Others believe it to be a hoax, others that it is some sort of ARG. The greatest consensus however is that it is a form of superfiction, in which a story is being told with every day life elements such as letters, photographs and artifacts. Its nature is participatory for those following it, meaning that those that have sent letters have received interesting replies. Letters have been exchanged since Mid august and continue to this day. It originated in Unfiction, but it flourished in /sanctuary/ where more people found interest in it. Theories of the mystery range from the Cthulhu Mythos, to Illuminati and even time travelers. The phenomenon started in late August and continues up to this day. ORIGIN - A person whose name seems to be 'Amanda' received the first letter in the mail on August 7, 2009. According to her, it came to her home address in a Priority Mail envelope from a P.O. Box address in College Station, Texas. Inside she found a typewritten letter. It is now known that she had posted her address publicly in a ARG website in hopes of receiving swag and ARG trailheads. The nature of the letter however did not follow the standard Commercial ARG formula, in fact, it didnt seem to be an ARG at all. Alternate Reality Games are often done and produced for the masses, they usually start as hundreds of emails being sent and the mailing of standardized strange packages with mystery items to those known for their blogs and audiences. 'Amanda' did not break the news of what she received until august 26th, perhaps when she realized that she was the only one to have received something. Summary of the first letter explains explicitly that it is not an ARG, that there are strange events currently occurring in Erwin's area, and that he is trying to uncover something from which he does not mention much. However, TINAG (This Is Not A Game) applies and leaves the suspicion of it being an ARG intact. THE FIRST LETTER

The story behind
FEAR THE PIGS, LOVE WOLFMAN (video link in Major Creepy Thread):
Within this video is an obvious, easily decodable message that says 'Fear the Pigs, Love Wolfman'. However, several not-as-obvious clues were presented. First of all, there was very low murmuring, which when reversed, extracted, and turned up reveals an hard to interpret hidden message. The info section on the youtube page also revealed Zalgo-esque text which, decoded by anonymous, quickly revealed to simply say 'lj'. This was in reference to LiveJournal.
During the time of discovery, wolfman had a livejournal with only one entry. The entry read, in the same code as the video, 'If you want to know, 10|12|09'. Wolfman then updated a while later, saying 'Remember the face'. A final message was posted that night, this time in morse code, reading: "REMEMBER, KIDDIES, IT'S ONLY A GAME. OR IS IT? I HAVE A PACKAGE FOR YOU. REMEMBER, DON'T FORGET THE FACE. 10/12/09"
Whether this means there will be an actual package hunt remains to be seen.

It's hard to really classify this as an ARG but here it is Marble HornetsMarble Hornets is an ongoing amateur project that features Slenderman as an antagonist. The series of short clips is hosted by a student named Jay who is ceded a collection of tapes by another student, Alex, who has a sudden and unexpected mental breakdown. Out of the blue, Alex (as director) drops all production of his unreleased movie named "Marble Hornets" which stars both students, as well as other recurring characters such as Brian, Tim, Seth, et al, and attempts to burn the tapes but instead dumps them onto Jay. Jay begins uploading these tapes to Youtube with his own commentary as well as footage of his investigation into the mystery of Alex's insanity. In the short clips, Alex is followed by a strange figure that profoundly resembles Slenderman, although the name Slenderman is never mentioned. There is also a Twitter account updated by Jay, through which he consistently complains that the tapes have become an object of obsession. The further he delves into the case, the more complex it becomes. It grows even stranger when another Youtuber, Totheark, joins in as a second party. He posts cryptic video responses to the Marble Hornets videos which appear to be challenging Jay and egging him on to continue by using content that would be presumed unobtainable, such as missing audio from Alex's tapes and outside footage of certain events. None of the 12 responses' meanings have been discovered as of yet. Link to videos: Marble Hornets

THE WELLINGTON CLUES
The Wellington Clues is the name given to a series of elaborately set up riddles found in various places throughout the New Zealand capital city, Wellington. The exact number of clues so far discovered is unknown, as the phenomena rarely garners attention outside of the city itself. The individual, or group, that set up the clues also remains unknown, and it is unclear how long they have been there.
ORIGINS
When the clues were first placed in Wellington is unknown, although the second clue is located near the Museum of New Zealand, which was not built until 1993, indicating that the clues can be no older than that.
The identity of the clues creator or creators is also unknown, and there is essentially no possible way to determine their identity from the clues themselves. A commonly held, though unfounded theory is that the final clue will identify or lead one to the clues creator or creators.
NATURE OF THE CLUES
The clues are written as riddles, with each clue giving cryptic directions to the next. They are hidden in places which are difficult to access, or can only be accessed at certain times such as Clue Seven, which is located beneath the wharf, on a small pile of rocks only accessible when the tide is out. Others in hidden in places where one would simply never think to look without the answer to the preceding clue, such as Clue Six, which is found on the underneath of a public rubbish bin. The space between the underside of the container and the pavement below is too small to fit ones head in, forcing the clue spotter to place a camera on the ground and photograph the clue.
In this manner the clues make it deliberately nigh-impossible to discover out of order, or without knowledge of any previous clues.
It is unknown how many clues exist. So far seven are known to have been discovered.

THE WYOMING INCIDENTThe Wyoming Incident was created by SomethingAwful goons who intended to begin an ARG with it. The ARG has since been abandoned, with no signs of it continuing any time in the future. Actual VideoThe video shows the fictional high-jacking of a Wyoming ABC News affiliate during their broadcast, not unlike The Max Headroom Incident. What follows is a series of title cards displaying the number 3, often in groups of 3 (For example: 333-333-333), unusual phrases in all caps, such as "YOU WILL SEE SUCH PRETTY THINGS", and pictures of mannequin and human heads and faces. The video is accompanied by analog tones that some have suspected may be binaural beats. This is accompanied by a short tune, also analog, playing a tune reminiscent of those found in some recordings of number stations.

YOU WILL NEVER FIND ME"You Will Never Find Me" is a video that appeared on YouTube in March, 2009, that depicts a man supposedly murdering one or more people, then showing up at the end with a sign saying "You Will Never Find Me". The YouTube channel is filled with speculative information that supposedly will lead to the killer. Playback of the audio at slowed speeds lead to more clues that brought two /x/philes to find a box filled with more clues. Most believe that "You Will Never Find Me" is an ARG, created for the purpose of entertainment of a select community. Actual Video
