25,000 years before the Battle of Yavin, the Force was first recongised on a planet called Tython. A war broke out, and the force users divided into two sects: the Sith, and the Jedi. The Sith left and eventually arrived at Korriban, but the Jedi always remembered their home of Tython.
With the destruction of the Academies on Telos IV, Dantooine, Ossus, and Coruscant, the beleaguered Jedi have fallen back on their ancestral homeworld, to train a new generation of Jedi.
The temple of Tython is fully equipped to train and house the Jedi. There's a hangar to accept transports and supplies, farms and water to feed everyone, and a library to house their secrets. All Jedi must train here, before going out into the galaxy.
