It was hot... unbearably hot. And humid. The air was as heavy as a caribou on one's back and stormy clouds from the far east threatened for vicious lightening storms later. The air was still with the exception of a small cold breeze. Hyacinthe's tongue hung out of his jaws as he panted heavily, trying to stay cool in the intolerable July heat. From a distance he could hear the whooping and hollering of humans. To them, today was a celebration, to Hyacinthe, it was nothing more than another boring day. The dark male had been stripped from his pack during a fire, and his last two companions had left him. Larcque, his pack sister, had been enchanted by an old seer, and draw away from him. And Gabriel, who was too young to understand the importance of staying in a pack, ran away. But he would be back soon enough... once he realized that it was harder than he imagined to fill his belly with food. Hyacinthe walked through the forest slowly, conserving as much energy as possible. He began to head towards the human camp, interested in what was so special about them. He had never seen a human before, only stories, and was interested in what the party may be. he shook his coat, which still smelled like ash, and began to walk toward the pillar of smoke which wafted through the air from the human's fire.

Shiva couldn't handle Necromancer. She had just lost her father, her mentor, and the only thing - human or wolf - to ever show her much care. He had died, like all humans do, and left her alone. Necro was too focused on death for her to be able to handle, so she had run from him. It wasn't like her to run.
She moped along, slowed down a bit too much for her liking by the heavy heat that hung in the air. This felt like it was one of the hottest days she had endured since she had been a pup in the swamps. As she padded along, she turned her eyes upwards, noting that clouds would be rolling in soon, and with them, a storm that she would not be pleased to be out in. But where would she go now? She had never made a home for herself, and couldn't bring herself to just settle so suddenly.
Soon, it felt like her pawsteps were beating in her head like drums, and she looked around, shaken out of her reverie. The drums were real, and seemed to be part of a loud, noisy celebration. The buzz in her mind told her that humans were nearby, and she headed in their direction, skirting the edge of a thick line of trees that seemed to separate her from them, searching for an easier, less noisy way to spy on the two-legged beings.

Hyacinthe soon forgot the heat as the smell of food reached his nose. His mouth watered at the idea of a meal. Hyacinthe had become lean since traveling by himself, and he longed for a pack to share the work with. Yet this food was different, it had a different aroma from the raw flesh he was use to consumming. His paws moved faster over the ground, the white patch on his chest expanded as he took deep breaths, and his head lowered as he slunk through the underbrush of the forest towards the human camp.
Peering through the leaves he made sure to keep absolutely still. Two legged creatures, lacking fur but wearing skins, danced around a large fire on the ground. At first Hyacinthe blinked quickly, startled at the large fire. He then noticed that it had been contained by the humans, and was not eating the forest as the one that destroyed his homeland had. Two legs clapped and yelled at each other in celebration. Some were painted brightly in different colors while other, the two leg pups, ran around squealing with delight. He frowed for a moment, remembering his own family, but suddently he noticed the bounty on the other side of camp. Bowls of berries laid on a table as large cooked salmon hung from branches. A large spit roasted deer was laid out along with other various meats and vegetable which Hyacinthe did not recognize.
Entranced by the food, Hyacinthe took a step forward recklessly, but was soon interrupted as a flash of color caught the edge of his eyesight. It was spotted- a feline? A dog? He quickly turned his head, ears laid flat against his back and tail tucked. Hyacinthe wasn't a coward- in fact he was a strong wolf, but he wasn't about to be caught by a two-leg's servant.

As she came closer to the encampment, Shiva realized that the two-legs weren't the only minds buzzing in her brain. She could feel their dogs, and then the legitimate feeling of wolf. Intrigued, she moved closer, trying to keep as stealthy as she could. A petite female herself, she realized that this wolf was bigger than most she had met, which made her even less eager to approach. She didn't know what his purpose was here, but surely didn't want to ruin a meal if that's what he was after.
"I'm just like you, wolf." she eased into his mind. s**t. Maybe she wasn't 'just' like him. Ohwell, hopefully he wouldn't freak out and run away, and she could talk to him a while. Her heart ached for someone normal to speak with, not crazy for death, or worse, taking care of their own new families.
She made herself visible to the male, both an act of confidence, and a gesture to let him know she wasn't trying to sneak around and ruin his plans, whatever they may be.

His eyes darted back and forth for a few moments until he realized that this creature was not going to attack him. She was all wolf, not cat nor dog. He sighed briefly, before relaxing, but remaining crouched behind the shrub. She was unlike any wolf that he had seen, though, spots and fangs with a pink flower behind her ear. All the wolves in his pack were just like him. Black. Green eyes. White marking on the chest. But this she-wolf, for a moment he thought quite exotic and attractive.
It was then she spoke in his mind, and instantly he knew what she was. Hyacinthe had mixed feelings about seers. The one it his pack was quite bewitching and beautiful, but also spoke like poison. The alpha had only tolerated her because of her beauty, and because of her tendencies to see the unseen. It was her who had predicted the fire. And then there was that old seer who had taken Larcque away.
He looked at her sceptically, a shrewd mask upon his face. He looked at her carefully realizing she could probably read him like a book. It had been a while since he had been amongst the presence of seers. He stood his ground, though... her intentions seemed harmless enough, despite the large fangs which protruded from her mouth. Her stance, at least, was non confrontational.
"Not a friend of the two-legs?" He whispered under his breath. Hyacinth wasn't sure what she wanted. He was hungry, but wasn't careless enough to waltz right in there and take something.

She was quite unsure of how to answer him, but she knew that she hated to be inside other wolves minds without their permission. Thusly, she retreated, hopefully leaving his mind feeling less invaded. "Well" she whispered back, edging a bit closer since she knew she tended to be a loudmouth. Shiva could whisper in your head, but when it came to speaking out loud, she had no idea what volume control was. "Not these, anyway." she grinned a bit self consciously, knowing her fangs were unusual amongst the wolves she had met so far.
Speaking of, he was the most handsome she had run across. The others had been full of strange colors, or ghostly ones, and this wolf provided and refreshing retreat back into normalcy. Her stomach growled then, breaking her out of her thoughts.
"Together, we could probably get their food." she edged closer still, attempting to get a better look of the camp the two-legs had set up. There were a good bit of them dancing about, and their human pups, but the pair of wolves may be able to find a way around to the food, where none of them were paying attention.

Hyacinthe rose a brow as Shiva said she wasn't friends with there two-legs. Did she mean she was friends with others? He glanced down as her necklace. That couldn't have been made by a wolf. The also potentially meant she knew how these humans operated. She probably knew how they could fool them better than he could. For a brief moment he thought of acting as a distracting while she took it... but on second thought perhaps this was better as a stealth operation
Hyacinthe felt the pit of his stomach rumble as he once again glanced over with his lime green eyes to the spread of food. It smelled. SO. GOOD. His neatly chiseled face grinned and he let his tail wag. He appreciated the company. He was not fond of being a lone wolf. Perhaps this maneuver would remind him of the old times where many wolves worked as one mind.
He noticed she moved closer. And then he moved closer yet. He was a tall wolf, and leaned down to whisper. "What did you have in mind?" He smiled, a crafty expression on his face. She knew these creatures better than he did.

Uh oh, he was asking her for ideas. And he was super close now. She did her best to keep from swooning, tightening her lips over her teeth, and doing her best to think up ideas on how to pull this off. Her human hadn't been like these. Her human had been an outcast, for potentially being diseased amongst his 'pack'. It wasn't a disease, though... it had been the very powers that Shiva withheld now. Well, the human version, anyway?
"We need to go around, closer to their food." She hoped that there would be less humans there. It stood to reason, the way humans seemed to be picky, that they wouldn't party and kick up dirt around their food. Over by the meat and berries, there might be one or two females caring over the cooking.
She turned and made her way past the bigger male, sliding under his chin easily. She could be a flirt too, really.

His ears pricked as the she wolf slid gracefully under his chin. For a moment he contemplated forgetting the food all together... Just watching her tail flick as she disappeared around the bend send shudders through his body. He smiled and followed her, eager for the adventure they were about to begin. Charming, witty, and beautiful... weren't those a rare combination? He smiled gently, trying to keep his debonair composure and avoid melting into a giant puddle.
He followed her amongst the trees, keeping close behind, almost following her paws track for track. The loud thrum of music and singing caught his attention once more and he crouched down to the ground. He trusted this female. Probably because she looked like she knew what she was doing.
He circled around the camp with her. They were now just five paces from the table. While most of the humans danced around the large fire, some of the women lounged under the shade of a large tree avoiding the day's heat. Small human pups wobbled around their mothers. For a moment Hyacinthe felt bad about trying to steal their food. But who knew when he would come across another meal.
He hesitated, looking at the food and then to Shiva. He wasn't sure if they could totally avoid being noticed. Hyacinthe was a large wolf, and he knew a big black monster lurking out of the forest probably wouldn't look like a cute hungry puppy. The scent of smoked salmon wafted past them. "You make the first move," he said. Not that he was trying to sacrifice, but more he wanted to follow her lead. He smiled sheepishly, stretching his legs, ready to snatch and run.

Shiva snuck along, listening more to the sounds of the male's pawsteps behind her, than the noises to their side. It was both interesting and unnerving to have someone follow her lead for once, and she set her heart on doing her best so that he wouldn't think she was a fool. Though she tried to keep out of his head, she could feel the sense of trust in her that he exuded. It made her want to succeed in this endeavor even more.
She sat quietly, pondering the situation. They would want to avoid being noticed at all, but if that wasn't possible, then she would like to be noticed on purpose, by one of the children who would be calm and maybe even help the two wolves. She relayed this to him, moving her muzzle close to his ear and whispering quietly. If they were to plan on being noticed, she didn't want it to be accidental, after all! Quietness was a must.
"I could speak to my human, but he was a seer too…" she informed him, unsure if she could communicate with one of the human pups. Ghede hadn't been alive long enough to teach her that particular bit of information, and she felt a bit unsure if she should try it.
The small female crept forward, keeping herself crouched low to the ground. The closer that she could get to the table, or the roasting animal for that matter, the better. Though… stealing a large burning animal from a fire was a lot harder than nabbing a hunk of meat from the table itself.
