The Advertising Committee's first big project is an internet radio station. We've done some set-up, and now we're ready to work out the details. ^^

So let's get to how this will work. On my computer, I will set up a playlist. That playlist is set to stream all mp3 files to a website playing our station. Armin and I will be the regular DJ's, with a guest DJ once or twice a week. We would like to have each guest DJ have a different genre of music. The guest DJ's I have signed up are; ThiefofLives, xTrueBlissx, Lectern. If you want to be a guest DJ, please PM me. (I probably forgot someone, just let me know. ^^) We will also set up a thread with information on the station, also have contests and such. The thread will be created by Armin's alter DJ ego, Annie B. (read her explanation here)

What we need:
Guest DJ's. PM me if you'd like to do it.
We need a name for it. Best idea I've seen is GAB radio. Any others?
I'd like to have some little chibi or something done of each DJ and behind the scene cast. Not necessary, but if anyone would like to do that it's be cool. smile

At the risk of also sounding uncreative, you could always use an acronymn, like GAB Radio....
Also there should be sections with like reviews, maybe top world headlines... you know stuff that interrupts the music on regular radio stations. Oh, we can also do advertising. Sell spots to threads and guilds and shops, etc.

Sell spots to threads and guilds and shops, etc. Reviews are a good idea..we were already thinking about commercials. I love this idea, there's way too many possibilities. :]

what type of music? Because maybe we can have like 2-3 stations, 1 for rock, 1 for country/soft rock, 1 for pop/other, etc... That will attract more. Have them listed on one site then have people listen to a genre they like.
Though chances are I won't be able to do a guest DJ, due to the fact I am about to premier a Radio Station I am opening on the internet within a week or 2 now, but I can mention the Gaiaonline Annual ball some how though if you'd like. It is going to be a Disney music radio station, but I can make an ad for you guys if you'd like (I would have to do it myself as I am the only DJ for it and I would introduce it myself.) Though I might have to keep the ad for the ball down to like 1-2 times an episode of the station. (Yes I am doing 2+ Hours an episode, one to 3 times a week)
All in all Good luck with the radio station.
I like the idea of GAB Radio or you can do like Sinners radio, etc... stuff like that.

I'd like to be a guest DJ~! I know lots of songs that are currently really popular ( I'm sad D: I know all the latest songs everyday >.> ) but I'm not so sure about the concept.

I like the idea of GAB radio since it has the talk feel to it. I'd definitely be up for DJ-ing. Sabs, are you just going to be buying the music or how will all of our music get to you for playlists and such?

Hadn't really thought of that...each DJ could be in charge of getting the music.
I don't want to steal it. So most of us have Itunes, yes? We can make a big library archive of music. If necessary I can get some music from friends and such.
(also, since I was really tired when I read it, I just got GAB radio. I sort of love it.)

would there be a way to do talking stints? It would be a great way to address emails and messages from people. We could set up a twitter to be attached to it too.
Edit: Or a chat so there could be chatting during the broadcast.

@SorceressJacklyn, I think that's a great idea! Maybe after the radio station gets more popular, we can read off fan mail. Maybe even sell shout outs to go with the fundraising committee.
I don't have itunes. I'm a CD junkie. sweatdrop But I have all those songs on here, and a lottt of older music on meh computer..

besides the guest DJ's, we can also have just plain guests in for interviews or for comedy and such.
and if we put a chat in the room, during the interveiws we could have people ask questions in the chat and the DJ could pick one out to ask, say something like "bri23 asks- (question here)"
i think that besides the host and co-host, the room hosts and co-hosts should also be interviewed. we could also have comedy bits and ask the listeners questions and read their answers outloud.
