Well the name explains it all. There's a big fountain in the center that is turned on every morning.

Pearl walked around the town square with her ipod in her back pocket. Her earphones were stuck on her ears, and she was humming rock songs REALLY loudly.

From behind his mask, Hell smirked at the girl who was walking through the Town Square humming. He was hiding in one of the trees----and no, it wasn't dead because of it--- watching everything that passed through the square. He'd been there since 3 am, the Witching hour, when he naturally woke up because of the demon in him. He had decided to stay out since he wouldn't be able to go back to sleep anyways-----he rarely slept because when he did, he smelled the sulfur and blood that reminded him so much of the time he'd spent in Hell---- not inside himself, but the place where his father had lived.

Pearl sensed someone in the trees. she stopped abruptly. "I know you're there."

"I know you know--- After all, I've been here all morning." Hell said, through the thin cloth of his mask. He wore it so no one would see the black vine like markings that went to the top of his neck, and to hide the sharp teeth that always would give him away as demonic. "Question is, what are you doing out there?"

((Not to be interrupting this nice chat of yours, and I mean that without the slightest hint of sarcasm--but shouldn't you be writing in the "Story" section of this subforum?))

((no, that's where the main plot is written))

((Frick. scream LOL))

Jez flicked a pebble into the ocean water. The ocean water was beautiful, a calm, clear blue that reminded her of the Irish skies. She tightened her fist around the next pebble, and threw it a bit too hard, so that it landed with a splash. She missed Ireland, although it had been her decision to leave it.
But how could she not miss it? It was her safe haven...
...Until the bloodshed started.
For that, she was glad that she left. But she missed the beautiful skies, and the playful oceans that could be dreary and drab and gray or a light sea-green just before a storm. She missed the Irish storms. They reminded her of her mother.
"I had to leave," she whispered, and Jezebel threw another pebble into the ocean, so softly that it barely hit the edge of the water. "I would have died if I had stayed. The other faeries were after me." It was true. After her mother had died, the other faeries saw fit to chase her down as the murderess of her mother, Branwena. It wasn't true, but Jez had no choice; she had to leave.
So she came here.
Jez sighed. She was beginning to regret that choice.
Lifting herself up, she spread her wings--her white gown had slits in the back for her wings, thank you very much--and flew over the oceans, soaking in the sunshine and the brightness of the cool, beautiful ocean. She skimmed the water a little, letting the water wet her up to her ankles, and then her knees, and then she was submerged. She came back up laughing.
The spell was still active--a spell she was unaware of. The one that made her want to stay at the Perfect City. Everything was as it should have been, in Their eyes. ("Their" is being capitalized because it is a group of people--see profile to understand!)
Jez smiled. I'm meant to be here.
Or so she thought.

*

Quietly, Jez shuffled to the town square, hoping desperately that she would be alone. Alas...it was not to be. ((My attempt at Shakespeare, LOL, JK.)) She heard voices, but, sticking it out like she always did, she continued, hoping against hope that the unknown voices would not see her and call out to her.

They stared at the town square, observing it silently in the computer room, where it displayed the visuals of the hundreds of video cameras that were subtly recording the entire city's activities. One in particular caught Their eye: a group of people talking, and a faerie inconspicuously trying to avoid them.
"This seems to be working out well," She murmured.
He smiled; She always knew what He was thinking. "Yes, it does," He replied. "Everyone is out doing things. They seem to be enjoying themselves. Look--they're swimming, partying, talking...they don't suspect."
She pecked his cheek with sisterly love. "Yes, dear brother. That is exactly how it will be...for the rest of our and their lives." He nodded, and turned back to the cameras; She knew what that meant. He was focusing. And then She saw it.
A malfunction.

A tall, blonde-haired boy floated above the water where Jez resurfaced. "Hello Jez." he spoke clearly, yet his lips didn't move.

Hell knew of the others----a boy in the fountain and a faerie trying to be hidden----- but he really could care less. He was more concerned about the weird buzz noise in his ears, barely audible. He hadn't noticed it before----which was odd because normally he noticed this kind of thing.
He felt weak, and could feel himself starting to sway------and that's when Hell's unconscious body hit the pavement.

Pearl tried to catch him, but she was just a second to late. She picked him up, her vampire strength coming in handy, and sat him down on the edge of the fountain.

Jez simply stared at the blond boy in the fountain. His lips hadn't moved. Oh, psychokinesis. She looked at him, focusing, attempting to read his aura. Oh. Strange name. "Z?" she asked, a smile on her lips. No one had talked to her, and she normally liked it that way...but this being was connected to the water. As was she; therefore, she didn't mind his company. That was when the body was thrown onto the side of the fountain by the vampiress with bloodred eyes.

She glared at the vampire--she searched her mind for the name, Pearl--at Pearl, who had placed the demon boy gently on the side of the fountain. The water faerie and the unknown were simply staring. She turned to Him. "A malfunction!" she hissed. "What the he*l happened?"
He shook His head. "I don't know," He whispered, and She swung Their legs around angrily. She was frustrated; He could tell. "Damn it!" He murmured. He was pressing His hands to His temples; She was wrinkling Her nose and trying to figure this out as hard as He was.
Neither understood.
"Amerie," He soothed Her, "calm down. It's all right."
"Don't you call me that!" She hissed at Him. "I told you never to call me that, J!" She loathed saying His name; to Her, simply names were unclean for beings of Their status; He merely went along with Her ideas. She controlled Their legs. She was superior to Him, and She knew it, as did He.
"Okay, okay," He agreed. "But we'll find out, dear, we'll find out." He replayed the camera. "It's all right. We'll find out the malfunction." He grinned, almost baring His teeth. "And we'll fix it."

"Is there some reason you seclude yourself from all but the waves?" Z asked. He was very well aware of her ability to read the auras of beings as he could read their minds, but he hid all secrets from Jez.

"Just something I learned a long time ago," Jez replied.
Not to trust anyone. The words were unspoken, but she could feel them lingering in the air. She turned her attention to the unconscious boy on the pavement, refusing to answer any more questions. She tried to block her mind from the psychokinetic. The boy's--the demon's--body looked normal, if not for the sewn-on eyepatch and the fact that he was unconscious, with shallow breathing. She looked at the bloodred-eyed vampiress.
"Did you do this?" she snarled.

Z followed behind Jez up to the two by the fountain. "If I may?" Z placed a hand against Pearl's forehead and closed his eyes. "The vampire had no involvement with this man's sudden collapse." Z said after a search through Pearl's short-term memory.
