Warp Spire Tower could hardly be called so as it in fact only has one floor (Unless you include the rickety walk way that spirals up to its tip) The construct is nothing more than a spire that reaches high into the sky and acts almost like a radio tower for the warp gate at its core. Inside is a pristine hall, the ceiling held aloft by six pillars and with pride of place is the warp gate itself. Two large rings that rotate within each other, sparking magically as they pass, every now and again the gate shimmers and warps which is thought to be travelers passing by the gate. When the rings stop though everybody prepares as a pool seems to fill its surface, bright as sunlight then a new traveler steps through. From this point on they are adopted as residents of Havencrest, all they need to do is sign their name in the Book of Names...

Worker's of the Tower
Terminus Claybourne (The Keeper of the Book)
Terminus is the keeper of the book of names, he's faithfuly recorded the name of every person, creature and vegetable that has passed through the warp gate into the city. He takes his job with huge pride and eats and sleeps at the towers base in a shed he's lovingly converted into a comfy pad. Nobody other than him is allowed to look into the book of names, if an issue arrises an official must ask him to read any data needed from the book of names.
 The Guardians (Guardians)
When the warp gate first started to be used on a regular basis stalegtites formed in the hall arches. Over time these formed into humanoid shapes before dropping to the ground and remaining where they landed till this very day. From their post the Guardians watch the people and the gate, they seem to have a distinct sense of the good and bad and have been known to intercept travlers and send them straght back where they came from. The guardians are as hard as nails created from some unidentifiable mineral that softens to absorb impact without breaking; the only person who seems to have any say over their actions is Terminus himself.
Iy Mac (Warp Specialist)
The warp gate specialist who still studies the gate to unlock its potential, if you want to leave through the gate the best person to speak to is Iy as he is the only person who seems to know how its panel works. He is also the only person brave enough to scale the external walkway which he does at three in the afternoon every day for two hours regardless of the weather. Nobody knows what he does up their but it must be something scientific.
 Niflock (Janitor)
Niflock is the sole janitor of the Warp Spire Tower and wouldn't have it any other way. Any attempts to employ assistance have been met with almost violent rebuke so he is left to work alone. Not that this is an issue as the hall and gates remain spotless. Mysteriously he is the only being who can pass through an active warp gate without being 'warped'. It is also thought that he secretes the oil that keeps the gate running so smoothly.

Oni looked up at the tower, her hands on her hips.
"You are lucky I can get that lock off. Because there is NO WAY I would fly up there to see if it was broken. The thing looks like it would fall over if I touched it." She said to Russel, looking over at him, then at the lock.
"So.. Do I just smash it, or pull it to pieces?"

Russell smiled and drew a key from his pocket, "This is just a padlock I stuck on here to prevent lazy intruders" Opening the door he lead Oni into the hall where the warp gate stood still. Two plates crossed over it like giant clamps holding it in place though it creaked desperate to move. The six guardians stood before it ((You'll see in a moment when I post the NPC's)), watching both Russell and Oni, waiting. "Ok, we need to get those two clamps off but that's easier said than done, if those hoops start spinning I don't want you to get dragged in or chopped up, on top of that I don't know whats coming out of there... It can't be good if it's been barred up" He stopped Oni from sprinting forwards, "Also... I'de imagine the Guardians where responsable for locking it up, without Terminus here to stop them they'll probably attack anybody who tried to open it again" He looked at her, "We need to incapasitate them first, but I don't want them destoryed... If we can help it"

Oni sighed and blew some of her hair from her face.
"Well that is no fun." She grumbled, looking at the guardians, narrowing her eyes as she tried to figure out a way to keep them from attacking her. She knew she would be okay if she opened the gate, having wings strong enough to carry her into, then back out of a class 5 hurricane safely.

"No, I know, but these guys are an integral part of the gate, goodness knows what would happen should we break one" Russell approched the imovable guardians and looked up at the gate "Ok, I have an idea... To stop them, but I'll need your help" Russell wandered casualy over to Terminus's pedistal, normaly the book of names would be there but now there was just a cup of water. Russell took it and walked casualy back to the guardians taking a sip from the cup (which he quickly spat out again, the water hadn't remained that fresh) As he approched the guardians they each atched him as he drew closer. "Follow my lead" He said to Oni before throwing the water into one of the guardians faces and turning it into a block of ice with his guantlet incasing its head. The other guardians sprang quickly into action as the sixth tried to free its head from the prison.

"Reckless! I love it!" Oni shouted gleefully, racing forward and stopping them all from landing on Russell. Oni could take it, he could not. She shoved then back and threw her hand out, wrapping one in ice and icing another's feet to the floor.
"This will not hold long! So unless you have a better idea we have to work fast!" She shouted, blocking blows with her metal arms.

Using Oni's ice deposits Russell drew out two spires that pinned two more guardians to the halls wall, as they struggled he dived away from anothers grasp. "It's great to be young again. I can keep them frozen now, get up there and pull back those braces, remember 'be careful' without you I'm stuffed" Drawing a branch of ice out from another block of ice he sweapt the two percuing Guardians off their feet.

"I can't die! Remember?! It just hurts like hell!" She yelled to him, flying up to the bracers and grabbing one. She locked her metal fingers under ti and pulled hard, pushing with her legs and peeled it back, using her body weight and the weight of her sword to snap it off the gate. She then jumped back up and began pulling the second, finding that this one was harder to pull off then the first.

Taking a breather Russell looked around, bright light was eminating from under the warp pannels and with intermitten flashes reality was flickering in and out. Around him Russell could see people, Terminus was closest, all of them where looking at the gate, frozen in time. The Havencrest guard where there, firing into the gate. Monsters and mages where helping, piling into the hall. A low rumble echoed from the warp and Russell turned, the six guardians had forgotten him and those that could still move where approching the gate slowly. With a long, ground shaking growl an image appered behind the barriers of the gate, something from the otherside was pushing out. "Only pain huh?" Russel said to himself quietly.

Oni pulled harder, grinding her teeth against the pain in her shoulders and broke free the other pannel. She flew back and hit the wall, groaning as she pushed the metal off her and standing slowly. She shook her head and ran to Russell's side, looking into the gate.
"Well, we know why the gate was closed and what happened to anyone." She said to him, a wild grin on her face. She pulled Dibanku from her back and rolled her shoulders, looking forward to a good fight.

The Gate span wildly for a moment, hissing through all the images like smoke, then it clanged to a halt. The six guardiens braced themselves and Russell allowed the ice to melt around them. There was a moment of stillness, silence, then everything came to life at once. Russell flinched as rifle fire echoed above his head aas all the soldiers guns went at once. Monsters of all shape and size ran past him, humans, elves, dwarves, mutents, knights and cave men charged at the creature every variety of instrument being weilded. Russell made sure his gloves where tight, "I havn't got any weapons on me" He said as the creatures leant forwards and roared causing the ceiling to crumble and some of the attackers to stumble. It's head was that of a bluish lion, its eyes and mouth full of flames, its claws where long and black as it struggle to pull itself through the warp gates, goodness knows how much more of it there was, hidden from sight.

Oni quickly reached into her pouch and pulled free a simple short sword and tossed it in Russell's direction.
"It snot fancy but it's all I got at the moment!" She called to him, pushing off the floor and leaping into the air, her powerful wings sending strong gusts of wind below, though she was careful not to knock over the others. She flew at the beast, tipping Dibanku on his side and swinging at the creature, using Dibanku like a baseball bat. He was not at all please.

Russell cuaght the sword by the hilt, his guantlet shon and the blade became a sabre of ice, he weighted it and approched Terminus. "The creature, where's it from?" The old man shrugged and was busy scrawling deperatly into his books. Russell sighed and turned to the gate, there was only one way he was going to find out. Running with thecrowd he burst through the front wall of soldiers and beasts and dove at the warp gate. Somebody behind him made an attempt to grab at his collar but he was already gone, vanishing into the murky grey pool from where the creature was crawling.
