Username : Mika_Yumi
Lunarian Name : Lê Hue (last, first)
Alliance : Noble
Reasoning: Hue actually tried not to think too hard about this decision. To be honest, she tries to avoid politics most of the time – but with the situation growing, she decided that perhaps she should align herself one way or another. In this case, she believes that change is imminent; even if this uprising does not succeed, it is only a matter of time before another one erupts -- it is only a matter of time before the government is put into question, or people decide that they dislike something about the way they are being ruled. Though at first one could argue that this was a fleeting issue, it has clearly become a larger issue.
Life is never stagnant, it is ever-changing, and Hue is not one to fight against the will of fate and time. Actually, she rather likes change.
Further in her opinion, a hundred-year war is just annoying. Rather than drag this on for ages -- which it will, as just about every rebellion drags itself on, or has some sort of comeback even after quelled -- Hue would much rather make the change as swift as possible. The quicker the change happens, the quicker clean-up happens; rather than continuing destruction and bloodshed for years and years and letting the community struggle, would it not be better to quickly make the change, and thus quickly move on and rebuild?
What can she offer?: Hue is rather sneaky. She's very good at treading carefully, approaching groups quietly, even passing individuals across a room with minimal noise, the type of noise that would be attributed to a house settling. She would be best utilized to gather information, or eventually carry out stealthy assassinations.
Path : Fighter
Personality :
Matter-of-Fact
Hue doesn’t want anything sugar-coated, and she hates dramatics. If something good happened, that’s wonderful, but don’t expect it to stay that way forever. If something horrible happened, that’s life, but the other side of that is that it’s bound to get better some time. The fact of the matter is, life is full of ups and downs, there will always be a balance, and it is not worth it to dwell on much of anything.
If one asks for her opinion, she'll give it openly. Some people might not like the answer -- but hey, if they didn't really want to know, they shouldn't have asked. She'll try to make them feel better about it if they don't like the answer, but if nothing else... at least they know now, right? So they can avoid the issue at future times, or they can choose to ignore her altogether (once they have the information, it is up to them how they use it). This could offend some, of course, but it is at least in no way meant to offend.
Murder, of course, has a negative connotation, and thus many look down on fights that Hue has been a part of, or deaths she has caused, but Hue is not willing to feel badly about the things she does. If she’s told to take someone out, she’ll take them out, and if anyone tries to guilt-trip her about it, she’ll merely explain that it was not she who was the true killer – she was a tool used by the one who gave the order. This is not to say that these things don't bother her, but this is her way of not carrying these burdens throughout her life. After all, it's not as if it isn't true; she did not wish their demise, but she was told to do as much, she was the tool chosen by the person who does wish the target's harm.

Go with the Flow
As one might derive from her reason for being on the Noble’s side of this situation, Hue isn’t one to really throw a fit about something going awry or turning in a new direction. This is not to say that she won’t mourn or be a bit upset if something does not go her way or the direction she assumed, but she’s able to adjust, and she recognizes the fact that things will never be still as one wants. The only consistent thing in life is that it is forever changing.
This does not mean, however, that she is a push-over. If a friend disagrees with her, that's fine, she'll usually just drop the matter -- she'd rather not cause tension by continually bringing up differences. When in a more formal situation, however, it can get a bit complicated. Hue doesn't like to rock the boat. If something is mentioned that she disagrees with, she will speak up and put in her two cents, but if she is still out-numbered or out-ranked by opposing views, she feels she'd rather let it go than create a huge issue. She'll do what she's told to do -- it's her job -- but she'll probably have some short answers to give about it.

Supportive
If Hue likes you, you may smile to think that you have an asset, a new friend who will help you when you need it. Well, you wouldn’t be entirely wrong, but if you’re expecting her to step into battle and help you fight for your honor, you are surely mistaken. She might be there on the sidelines to sort of cheer you on, but she is not going to fight your battles – you get to do that.
She would rather be protective and supportive by making sure that you are on your way to being a good, strong person than by inflicting her ideas/opinions/views onto you and letting your skills wilt on the sideline while she attempts to kick some a** for you. You can be sure she’ll give you a hug when you need it, but she would rather watch you learn from a fall than keep you from falling in the first place.

Soft-Spoken
Hue does not like to raise her voice. She doesn’t at all see the reasoning behind, “I’m louder than you, and therefore I am better/smarter/my point is more valid.” She can take more time than others to actually say what she wants to say, at times, if she has anything to say at all. Especially against a stubborn personality, Hue is probably less likely to speak up, because she is sure that it is unlikely that she will be heard. When faced with a person of authority, she realizes that she does have 'her place,' and usually listens more often than she speaks.
Still, when she has plenty to say, she’s not afraid of being honest. You may decide that you hate her for it, but that’s your problem. At least she never gives her opinion or says anything as if she’s laying down the law -- you have your right to your own opinion, and you have every right to ignore her. Doesn't mean she won't tell you when she thinks you're being unreasonable.

Determined
There’s no doubt about it, when Hue says that she will get something done, she is going to get it done. Once she’s put to work, she will not give up on whatever it is until she sees it through – whether that be a craft project, a job she’s been given, or a favor she’s promised. If there’s a goal in mind… Hue will at least do her very best to complete it. If she cannot complete a task, she will most likely find a place alone where she can throw a tantrum of sorts by throwing her knives or what have you at a log until it is adequately marred. She also sometimes inflicts harm on herself inadvertently if she also decides to attempt to punch or kick a solid object in her frustration.

Likes: Rain, Flower Buds just opening, Solitude to clear her head
Dislikes: Stubbed toes, being Interrupted, Lightning

Hobbies :
Swimming
She loves to swim. Water is completely refreshing, in her opinion; if Hue is in a less-than-appealing mood, just throw her in a clear pool or wait for some rain, and she’s sure to feel better. There’s something about the way water moves, and the way she’s free to move in it, that just puts her at ease and makes her feel… renewed.

Woodcarving
Whether she’s doing it for profit or just to pass the time, Hue continues to love carving wood and creating intricate patterns and figurines. She loves watching the wood transform, her ideas ‘coming to life’ in a way.

Whistling
Whistling on its own isn’t too much of a hobby, really – but Hue makes it one by attempting to ‘sing with the birds’. She’ll take time to search out a patch of particularly populated trees and sit and listen for a while, and then try to imitate their songs. Sometimes she’s good at it, sometimes not so much – but she doesn’t much care. In any case, she rarely scares them away.

❀ Appearance!
Skin Tone : Her skin is naturally a light creamy yellow, though some would be surprised that it wouldn't be a dark brown from the amount of time she can spend outside.
Body Style : Hue is fairly tall and lean, standing at 5’7 and weighing around 140lbs – most of which is muscle. As she gets older, she will work quite diligently to keep herself in shape and make sure that she’s physically healthy, but for now, though she trains, she is still growing into herself. For now, she has a modest bust, a thin waist, and apparent hips, though she’ll grow to have wide hips and a fair bust (though not at all to be spilling out of her top).
Hair Color/Style : Her hair color is dark, but not black. It is a sort of deep, dark maroon color (#281519). Starting at various points along her temple, Hue has a series of small braids that seem to form a ‘net’ over the front half of her head, keeping most of her hair out of her face. The hair is long, thick, and wavy, reaching around her waist.
Eye Color : Hue’s eyes are much lighter than her hair, a hazy blue color (#818D99) with flecks of stony grey in them (#726B59).
Scale/Fin Color : Her scales are two colors – a shadowed blush (#60474A) and deep grey-blue (#262E3B). Hue’s scales are on her cheeks, her shoulders and dipping down along her upper arm a bit, along her ribs, along her outer upper thighs, and the inside of her ankles.

For some reason, some of the colors aren’t working in code – I will leave the numbers there for reference so that you can look here, where the scheme was taken from.
No description should exceed 600 words.

Clothing Description : Hue wears a short dress with an exposed neck and collar bones, and a slit up the side that exposes her thigh. Her shoes are soft, comfortable flats that allow her to stay quiet.
(I would really love to leave the colors to the colorist; I love the idea of the top of this dress, though I like the length and bold pattern/design of this dress.)
Accessory Description :
Weapons
Fighter: Shuriken Concealed in a “belt” (like a garter) around her thigh.
Captain: Korean Fan / Mu Puche Its own disguise; conceals blades that release when the fan snaps open.
Jewelry
Hue wears a bracelet around her wrist, a cloth band with a wooden pendant she carved, a globe with intricate swirls that circle a bird within.
Magic : Seal Forming Magic
Unique Attributes : Nothing that I can think of.

History : I’m working on her history – it’s proving to be somewhat difficult. I’ve been back and forth with many possibilities, but what I know thus far is that her mother passed away when she was young. Her father, though around, was not a constant presence because he worked nights, and their schedules rarely lined up. Because her father would sleep during the day, Hue had to learn how to move quickly and quietly within the house without waking him, cementing sneaking as a general talent of hers. As she grew, he didn’t quite realize that a larger person required more food, but rather than bother her father, Hue decided to make some money herself to get some extra groceries, and have just a bit of her own spending money. Early in her life, she noticed a wood-carved whistle that her father had, and asked him where he’d gotten it; in fact, he had made it, and showed her how he did so. She began making her own, and as she progressed and became better, she began to try to carve patterns to decorate her whistles. She then tried her hand at figures, and objects other than whistles – sheaths, fans, charms, etc. When she decided to make some extra money, she would sell charms and such that she carved, and commissioned other works. Now she’s a warrior for the nobles, putting other of her skills to use.

Notes? : Aside, she also very much likes to people-watch, and she learns much from doing so – watching her father carve his whistle, for instance, or perhaps watching a woman work with her ‘womanly charms’, or watching someone train or fight. She, of course, needs practice in these things once she sees them, and sometimes never masters a skill she admires, but that’s how she’s learned most of her fighting technique.

Hue is generally good for sneaking – a sneaky attack or assassination, or a chance to eavesdrop, et cetera. She is skilled in fighting, and works to better herself in it, but it is not at all her specialty. She prefers long-range attacks, and usually giving the opponent little or no time to really react.

Alright, guys! Open for critiques, would very much love them. :']

I'm sort of struggling with her past and such? I have basic ideas -- which are in the notes section -- but they are yet to be really fleshed out. If you have any ideas, feel free to throw them out there.

Hoping I can peg her down fairly quickly. ;P Not sure I'll get her in time for October Customs, though that was the goal... but either way! Let me know what you think. <3

In the process of editing, please be aware that it is a WiP; working on kind crits from Kuro-Mizuki and Face. <3

Hey there! A few things to consider:

Her reason for joining the Nobles is a tadddd weak and not quite explained well enough. I'd like to see a bit more expansion on that. What does she have to offer the Nobles? Why did she choose them over the Legions?

The "Matter of Fact" trait seems like she could come off as really blunt and almost rude. It's not a bad thing, because this could work both as a virtue in her personality as well as a flaw. But do you intend for her to come off as rude, even slightly cold unfeeling, especially about "taking someone out?" Or is it just meant for her to be calm and reasonable about the situation.

"Go with the flow" is a good way of describing her; however does it mean that she's easily swayed towards things? Does this present a problem when she's told to do something that she doesn't agree with? How does she decide which way to go? I'd like to see more detail on this. She's coming off as almost (almost, but not quite) wishy-washy, and it feels kinda odd with her "determined" personality. I get a very "que sera sera" sort of feel, a kind of "That's life" kind of philosophy. Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad thing! But I'd like to see a bit more detail on how this influences her choice of Alliance and her decision to be a Warrior. She seems almost...contrary to most Warriors, which I actually like, but like I said, a bit more introspect into her character on that.

Her hobbies are nice and simple, yet unique, as well as her likes and dislikes, although they're all done individually. Does she like doing anything with other people? Is she a sociable person? She's soft-spoken, but does enjoy being with other people? I do enjoy the woodcarving one quite a bit. =)

Her appearance is good, except there isn't really a "tan" skintone in Lunaria, persay:

Quote:
Lunarians come with a variety of different colors of skin ranging from pinks to blues to greens. However, the majority of lunarians have yellow skin and turns orange to brown when tanned.

Other than that, her colors are a lovely combination, and her clothing good.

I love the basics of her history so far, but yeah, you do need to expand on it a bit more, give some more depth and insight into how she grew up, what she was like, etc. etc.

So far you're off to a great start. I would love to see what you can come up with, and with just a few revisions, you should be good to go. =)

Hurrah! Thank you so much! I'll go and work on those soon -- hopefully I'll have an edit by tomorrow. <3

Burn, with an inside flame.

Just some small comments - u -

1. In "Matter of Fact", I was wondering what this meant: "Many would like to speak badly about fights or death or anything else, but Hue is not willing to feel badly about the things she does," in terms of "badly" and "bad"; could it be more clearly expressed? Does it mean that while fights and death would normally be viewed as negative and unfavourable, Hue is desensitized to her own actions?

2. Did something cause her to be so desensitized, in general? She seems to have no temper, a minimal or nonexistent concept of guilt and responsibility, etc... would anything / has anything ever made her realize it's her own skills which result in the deaths or injuries she inflicts? I also wonder if something caused her to be so opinionated and yet calm. Does anything make her angry, does she even have a capacity to feel strongly about someone or something? Was it something in her history that made her that way, or was she even a strange child? I'm definitely curious as to the foundation of her personality, since all her traits seem so calm.
