Name: Jack Boone Nickname: Jakky (only used when people want to die), Boone Age: 21 Specialty In SPD (Snafu Police Department): new recruit Brief Bio: Born and raised in this hell-hole, recently graduated from college with a degree in physics, minoring in chemistry. Along with college, Jack was enrolled in the police training program and graduated a few days before the beginning of the story. He has just been assigned a veteran officer to be his partner and teach him the ropes. Jack may be a bit of a punk, but he's an over-all good kid who protects the people he loves and doesn't take sh*t from anyone but the chief. Pic:

I looked at the new kid, and then looked at his paper. Then I looked at him again...and at his file. Okay, the pictures matched...but this kid had a degree in physics? Impossible! "Hello," I greeted him roughly, "I'm Jezebel Sinise, your new partner. Your file here says your name is Jack Boone. You may call me Sinise, Mr. Boone, and if you ever call me 'Sin' or 'Jez', you will be immediately fired. Remember this, Mr. Boone: I own your frickin a$$. I may be only seven years older than you, but I own you, and you better work well, because I have high expectations. I need to know exactly what experience you have, and I want another copy of your resume because I have to give one to the official boss of SPD and I want another for myself so I can make sure you're exactly who you say you are." I smiled. "I hope we get along."

Jack walked into the SPD's main building to find his partner/mentor and was almost immediately greeted by a barrage of death threats. She's probably just hazing the new guy. Nothing you haven't seen before. he thought. "Yeah.. soo... what exactly do you do here?" Jack asked blandly.

I narrowed my eyes. "You blindly joined without even understanding what we do?" I asked. I was calm now. "Okay. You graduated in physics and chemistry--or so your file says--and that's kind of what we do here. We do special crimes, identifying killers and putting them in the slammer. It's almost like a cop show, because we specially work for the FBI. Like the X-Files or something. But don't you ever identify me as Gary Sinise--the guy who played Mac in CSI--because if you do," I explained, "I will kill you. And I know how to make it look like an accident. The benefits of working as an FBI."

I sighed. As bad as that one intern. Eric, wasn't it? I thought, and smiled a bit. "I'm forensics, like I said. I'll go personally to the crime scenes--as will you--we find crap to identify, we identify, we lock up the b*****d who committed the crime. Basically, we do everything: robberies, rape, murder, everything. Though we can skip the second one if you like. It's a bit traumatic for newbies." I shrugged.

"Alright. So, you on a case right now or can I hit the shooting range?" Jack asked, already bored by the blandness of this day.

"As a matter of fact..." I flipped open another file, staring at it. "...we do have another case. No shooting range today, but I would suggest you bring your gun. I have one, too. We don't just do forensics. This is hands-on stuff." I showed him my handgun in my jacket. "Best to keep it loaded. Now, come on. We're going to Snafu Park."

"I'm already loaded up." Jack grinned, flashing a desert eagle hidden by his windbreaker. "So what's the deal? What happened at the park?"

I checked the file again. "Girl was found at the bottom of the river, tied down with rocks attached to her legs by rope. Her hands and feet were bound. She wasn't drowned, it was post-mortem. A killing bullet hole was found in the middle of her forehead. Definitely killed her. Half of her brains are practically missing. Found some saliva in her mouth, wasn't hers. Kissing, I guess. Haven't identified her. Approximately twenty-five years old, blond hair, green eyes, about 5 feet, 5 inches, dressed like a politician--white blouse, blue jeans skirt, heels that would kill most women from blisters. She's got cuts on her wrists, arms, legs, face, back, and feet. Bled out from the gunshot wound. Body was found about two hours ago, and the normal police transferred it over to us."

"Could anyone ID the girl?" Jack asked, the first professional question he's asked since arrival.

I rolled my eyes. "I just said we haven't identified her. Though you're half-right, I guess. Apparently, she bought a hotdog from a hotdog stand approximately fifteen minutes before she died. The man identified her as a regular--but said she was with someone new. A man. Apparently, she comes often with men. Usually, the same two men. Lawyers, the guy said. Mark Snow and Oliver Elliott, two rising stars in the law industry, I guess you'd call it. Recently graduated in the same class at Harvard. Shared a dorm. Had a lot of their classes together. Best friends. Anyway, she always came with the same two men, every Wednesday afternoon--changed it every other week. I don't know why. And she was always kissing--whatever man it was, they were very both deeply involved with her. But today... "Today she came with somebody different. Looked kind of like Oliver Elliott apparently: blond hair, brown eyes, normal height--but it definitely wasn't him. The one other feature that the hotdog stand guy remembered was a huge tattoo on his face, covered the whole left side of his face. That ought to narrow it down a bit. "But, of course, you're half wrong, because even though the guy saw her every Wednesday," I sighed, "he couldn't identify her. Which sucks. Come on, get any stuff you need. We're driving to the park in my car. And don't take any soft drinks. I have white leather seats."

((that post was a result of my lack o' focus. I missed that part)) Jack walked alongside Jezabel to her car as he thought about the information carefully. "Maybe this Oliver guy can tell us who she was. Any idea where he is?" he asked.

"In a court case," I replied. "For the next two hours, at least. Case opened approximately ten minutes before the body was found. Something about a politician's wife suing him for beating her and all that political crap. Not our jurisdiction. Mark Snow is also in court, but he ought to be let out in about a half hour, maybe forty-five minutes. Like my car?" I grinned, letting him bask in the glory that was my truck.
