I am a big fan of Full Metal Jacket along with Saving Pvt. Ryan, Glory, We Were Soldiers, Longest Day, and Blackhawk Down.
As for tv shows I'm a big fan of Band of Brothers, Tour of Duty, Victory at Sea (while the filiming editing and footage choices could have been improved on, the narration and music are unbeatable).
As for movies that are comming out now and have come out this year. I've seen Jarhead and have read the book. A lot of us Marines have mix feelings about the movie and the book itself. I thought the book was alright and not too bad. However a lot of guys in my platoon and other Marines who I know where pratically had rage against the movie and book, especially the book. I prefered the book over the movie of course and there were some parts where I chuckled. I even talked to one of my commanders and he told me that he laughed at some of the parts (example: the part about the black rain). From what I know/heard of a lot of members of STA 2/7 (Swofford's platoon) don't really like him and could careless about him. One of my officers told me that one of his buddies that served with Swafford didn't speak to well of him. From reading the book it seems like it pretty much just consists of Swofford whining and complaning.
As for Annapolis. I have yet to see this movie, but I hear its pretty good. A few friends of mine in the Navy went to see it and they thought it ws alright. They told me the movie is bacially for the dreamers, romantics, and that the movie just wasn't there. It was too much of htis and that. Oh well I think I'll still see it.

Some of my favorites are: Men of Honor, Tears of the Sun, Tuskegee Airmen, Anchor's Aweigh (kind of an oldy), and We Were Soilders. I've seen Jarhead as well, I thought that it was an alright movie.. I have yet to read the book though. I haven't seen Annapolis yet, but I'm going on Friday and I'll give you all a review!

As unrealistic as it is, I love Stargate; it's the only thing that actually uses the Air Force.
Also, it's manditory to love Top Gun.
What about MASH people?
