 ████████ ████████ ████████ ████████ Name: Yersinios Nickname(s): Nios Age (Appearance Wise): ~10 Age (Actual): 4
Personality:
Melodramatic He has an over-dramatic disposition, given to flourishing his hat and overreacting to everything. The smallest molehill becomes a giant problem, and he incessantly worries. When Nios becomes super flustered, he either freezes up or he goes into a temper tantrum (and he also cries easily, but tries to hide it). On the other hand, his emotions can be read easily, whether he's happy or angry. Apprehensive Nios often lets his fears and his worries overcome his curiosity, and he's reluctant to try new things. He likes what's safe and what's tried and tested. It takes him a while to warm up to new people, but once he knows them better, he's back to his overdramatic ways. Awkward Around people, he's often not sure how to act. Empathy is not one of his strong points; he's not good with comforting others, or dealing with other people's issues. He doesn't mean to be rude, or cruel, but it's hard for him to tell what crosses the line. Idealistic A romantic by heart, Nios finds beauty in decay and ugly things and he often drifts off into daydreams. His favorite stories are love stories. Immature When it comes down to it, Nios really does have the personality of a 4-year old. He's moody and capricious, but he's also quick to trust, in a naive way, and usually cheerful.
Thoughts on the Forest: He stumbled out of the forest as quickly as he could, and he never wants to go back. Whenever the forest is mentioned, he tenses up; maybe he has bad memories of the place, or maybe he's just afraid of its chilling darkness. Thoughts of Book Children: Nios is usually friendly with other book children, especially because they aren't as scary as the inky black city people who appeared out of nowhere. He likes to meet other book children with stories that are related to his. Thoughts on City People: He finds them pleasant and tries to act polite around them, but Nios isn't really a people person. He realizes that the city people are different from himself, and that makes him a little afraid. He's more open to those that are nice, and those that dote on him.
History: When he first appeared on the outskirts of the city, Atelhe happened to be close by, and it quickly guided him into Library City. Nios walked into the city purposefully, and did not look back at the forest. He spent his first days in the city wandering through the middle layer, sleeping in dark alleys, scavenging for food, and wondering at how objects would keep floating through the air, carried by invisible hands. Occasionally he would see another book child, but it wasn't until months later that one greeted him and led him to a small dwelling in Sutfirth owned by a kind City Person, where he has lived since. Hobbies: gardening, eating Birthday: March 15 Favorite Things: roses, plants, sweets, ugly things Hated Things: medicine, the forest
Story: people and plagues, a non-fiction recounting the spread of the plague through the history of Library City. The second half of the book, following descriptions of the disease's symptoms and its history, is a list of all the city people who had ever died from the plague. The list ends abruptly 20 years ago. Favorite type of Ending: happily ever afters Favorite Illustration: ••• Dreams: nightmares about death
