 ((RP taking place while she's still a Foal))
Sallexis danced down a small dusty trail not too far from the little clearing she was supposed to 'not wander too far' from. She giggled softly to herself. Saluki and her father worried too much and never let her have any fun.
What was the point of learning everything she possibly could without exploring now and then?! It was no fun standing around with the grown-ups all the time. Sure, she had a brother... but even he didn't see which way she had run off to. For all he knew, she was still hiding in their little game of Hide & Seek. He'd be looking for her for a while, and she smiled proudly to herself for that.
She wasn't exactly the black sheep of her small and rather unique little family, she just often saw no point in following the rules exactly as how they were meant. She loved to explore, learn things and over all be curious about this, that and the other... And this was one such occasion.
She stopped upon hearing a small rustle in the leaf pile next to her and grinned. She crouched down playfully, seeing the small tuft of brown fluff from a squirrel's tail and fluttered her wings a bit as she made a playful leap at it.
She then pouted as it scurried away in a panic. "Aww... Come back!" she called out to it. "I just want to play!"
She stood there a moment then sighed. But her sad look didn't last for very long. She quickly perked back up and began another joyous prance down the path fluttering her wings playfully with each step.

 Ignis wasn't too particularly busy. Actually he wasn't busy at all and was just wandering aimlessly. He didn't know why, didn't really care either. He didn't have to have a reason to wander after all. He turned his head at the sound of a voice, a frown creasing his features. Obviously the voice wasn't talking to him as he hadn't seen anyone. He looked around and tried to identify where the voice was coming from.
After a few seconds and not figuring it out he shrugged his shoulders and kept walking. And once he stopped looking it would figure that the source of the sound made itself apparent. It was a little purple filly, prancing away obliviously down the path. "Shouldn't you have an adult with you?" the male asked the little one automatically once she within earshot.

Sallexis froze and peered up at the Stallion that spoke to her and broke her away from her wildly wandering thoughts and imagination.
"Um.... No?" she replied. She looked him over quickly, slightly startled by his appearance, yet at the same time she was curious. She looked closely to notice that he was a wingless and hornless Stallion - like her brother - and that his markings looked as if they glowed. That... ... was cool!
Her ears perked back up once that thought triggered and she smiled. "I don't need to have an adult with me to explore and learn something new."
She did one little turn, prancing in a circle before flicking her tail with glee.
"What about you?" she asked, tilting her head quizically. "Why are you out here all alone? Don't you have a Daddy? Or... or a brother?"

Ignis snorted at the little filly's question. Rolling his pupil less eyes, which kind of gave it less effect but he wasn't concerned. He tilted his head to the side and observed the filly, trying to figure out what kind of idiot just let their children run around in the woods without supervision. What if he was some sick minded kidnapper? Or a predator that saw the little purple female as a quick lunch? Idiot parents.
He snorted again at the thought and looked at the little female prancing in a circle. "I like to be alone." he answered her question and looked around, trying to identify just where this child had come from anyways. From what she said, she more than likely had parents, otherwise the word brother and Daddy would have been foreign in nature to the purple filly.
So, where was this filly's parents then? "What's your name then." he figured that ushering this girl back to her parents was the best idea, but the other half of him wanted to keep the little thing out longer so that the idiots who let her run around unsupervised in the first place would begin to worry and perhaps learn a lesson.

"Oh." she spoke almost sadly. Even her ears, wings and tail drooped a bit as she did. He liked being alone? That's not exactly... healthy... "I'm... sorry to hear that." She shuffled the dirt under her hooves a bit then perked up in an instant as if her dim bulb had brightened with the best epiphany ever! "I know! I can be your sister!"
She giggled and fluttered her wings a bit with another delighted giggle. That was one clever idea. And it wasn't too far fetched. As far as she was concerned, adopting new family members was easier than stomping a hoof. Heck, her uncle Saluki was only an uncle out of simplistic reasons. He wasn't blood to them by no means.
She saw him looking around and skewed her muzzle into a determined one. She knew that look. She'd seen it before. Darn grown-ups... always trying to be boring and take away the fun. "My name's Sallexis! What's yours?" she asked beginning another sort of dancy prance along the path away from where she had come.

Ignis sighed and looked at the filly. Her silly happiness, instead of being cute and endearing like it would be to most adults, he was slightly bored by it. "I don't need a sister, squirt." he told Sallexis gruffly, followed by a shrug as he walked slowly after her as she pranced off down the path.
He really couldn't help it, the fact that he was now going to follow this little filly around that was. At least until her found her parents, he may not have been the nicest Soquili in the world, but he wasn't heartless, and he wasn't going to let her run around unsupervised and potentially fall into harms way. "Ignis." he gave her his name and continued to follow the little female down the path.

"Een Yuss?" she repeated oddly and rather slow, as if testing the name and questioning it all at once. "Different..." she then started and bounded a hop over a fallen log in the path. "... but I like it." she giggled and turned with a slight bounce in her step. "It fits you." she smiled brightly then turned to continue down the trail.
Every now and then she stopped and sniffed at various things - mostly plants and flowers - all in the name of curiosity. Eventually she just trotted along happily. At least now her Father and Uncle Saluki wouldn't scold her for wandering off alone. She had a travel buddy now!
"So... Why do you like being alone, Ignis?" she asked finally, fluttering her wings a bit. "And my name is Sallexis! Not Squirt." She stomped her hoof slightly as she said this.

Ignis sighed and rolled his eyes. "In yes." he said, pronouncing his name correctly and stepped over the fallen log that the little one had to jump over. She was far too bubbly and happy for his tastes, but he supposed he could tolerate it.... maybe.
He'd pause when she would and pretty much just followed the filly around until she asked another question. "I like the quiet, and not being bothered, squirt." he replied gruffly, adding the squirt in at the end just because she said something, a smirk on his face. She'd just earned herself a permanent nickname.

She rolled her eyes. "Een Yuss..." she smirked back. She'd figure out a clever nickname for him one day. But for some reason 'Gramps' or 'Old Goat' just sounded rude and offensive. And those were the only two that came to mind at the moment.
She blinked after a moment as a look of concern and worry flitted over her features. "So..."
She turned around, almost sadly and looked at him with her best pouty face. "You... don't ever want a family?" she turned to face him completely. "That's... That's sad! You don't want any kids?!" She almost gave him enough time to answer with half a word before:
"Well then what about a friend?" she then grinned with an almost hopeful gleam in her eyes.

Ignis sighed and if he was able to he would have face-palmed at her question. How the hell did someone her age come up with a question like that. He wasn't going to explain families and babies to someone else's kid. Hell he probably wouldn't even explain it to his own kid. Will you stop asking stupid questions if I say yes? he thought to himself before shaking his head and telling himself to take a chill pill. She was just a filly after all.
"Fine." was his answer. Hopefully she wouldn't go into a fit of giggles or something equally girlish and childish.

"Cool!" Sallexis giggled softly and fluttered her wings happily. Probably not as bad as it could have been.
She pranced around some more and stopped to poke a hoof at a mushroom, only to jump back a small bit as it puffed up a small bit of spores in response. "Wow!" she exclaimed and turned to Ignis. "Did you see that?! That was so neat!" she giggled. "Why did it do that?" she asked in her wonderment.
She didn't spend much time pondering on that thought before continuing on down the path. She looked over her shoulder at Ignis. "So whatcha wanna do, 'Friend'?" she snerked a bit, adding a small twinge of an emphasis on the word just to be silly.

Ignis sighed and just ignored the giggle. It wasn't as bad as he thought it would be.
While the little filly pranced around ahead of him he only kept half an eye on her as he looked around the forest. He hadn't been through this part of it yet, though he was traveling on so it wasn't as if he'd be staying around to enjoy it.
It was quiet pretty around here though... He was distracted from his thoughts by the squirt getting into a mushroom, only to be spoored at and he couldn't help but smirk. "It's to keep curious Soquili like you away from it." he said and chuckled a bit.
Ignoring the sarcastic little emphasis on the word friend he tilted his head to the side and looked at the filly with a raised eyebrow. "Take you back to your parents." he said, sort of a threat to keep her from asking him again.

Sallexis skewed her muzzle and made a crude and childish imitation of him saying 'It's to keep curious Soquili like you away from it.' while he wasn't looking. She then snickered softly to herself. Her new friend was fun.
Er... At least he was... Until that last thing he spoke of...
She turned on a pebble (because I'm sure neither of them know what a dime is, much less what it would look like) and looked at him with a mixed look of panic, worry and a pout. "But why would you want to do that?!" Her brow furrowed in almost an instant and her feathers poofed on her wings, making them (and herself) appear twice as big around than normal. "That's not what a friend would do!"

Ignis almost laughed at the girls panic. Not quiet, but it was a struggle. He won in the end and the laugh went un heard, but the smirk on his face was unmistakable.
"Because squirts shouldn't be running around without an adult around." not that he didn't qualify as an adult, but he was still a young adult, not really more than four or five years older than the little purple girl in front of him.

Her brow raised at that, added to the confused tilt of her head. "You look like an old stallion to me..." she half mumbled, half snorted.
"AND!" she started again, turning a bit so that she could turn her back to him some. "I'm not a squirt!" She stomped once...
... then a butterfly caught her attention as it landed on the end of her muzzle.
She blinked her eyes open and stared at it in an almost dumbfounded look for a moment before a small sweet smile graced her features. It fluttered its wings a small moment before flitting off to some interesting looking flower.
"So pretty..." she cooed softly to herself as she watched it fly away.
