((yII entering area outside of tent for scouting))

The first thing yII noticed when he exited the tent, he saw fog. Everywhere. As unsettling as that was, he could only hope that the weather would be clearing up sometime soon. If not.. then they'd have to be extra careful with their surroundings.

Just from what he was able to see, there were a few run down buildings in the area. Something bluish was also not too far off from what he could tell. Perhaps that was another team tent? He noticed theirs was olive just like their outfits.

"Well. Lovely weather we have here!"

(( y I entering area outside of tent ))

'Ugh, scouting isn't going to be very easy. I don't suppose any one noticed any sort of light source we can use in the tent?' One figured that it might help for signalling if they got seperated, or even to see more than a few 100 yards ahead.

She looked around, not moving too far away as she looked in all directions around their tent, squinting at the blurry far objects in the distance.

((y III heading out to scout))

Gamma Three stormed out of the tent behind the others, one eye twitching beneath her mask. Thankfully nobody could see her face, because it looked a lot like this:

Fortunately, that was neither here nor there, and Gamma Three seemed fairly content to stick close by the others for the time being, eyes searching through the thick fog.

“This blows,” she began as she looked from One to Two and then back out at the fog, “I think we need to decide how we're going to handle The Others, when we encounter them. If what that phone says is true, we kill or be killed. I don't want to wait until we see someone to have to decide if we're playing this game or if we think there's another way off. So let's get it out of the way.”

Gamma 8 entering Abandoned Town

8 went up on her toes, peering at the map that 2 still held. A lighthouse, an abandoned town, and a cornfield. It was pretty obvious from those choices where they must be, unless this was an extra-populated cornfield.

"So we're in the town. There could be any number of people in these houses," she reasoned, and the thought gave her a chill, "but more likely they're in the same situation as us, and we have another base somewhere nearby, maybe many bases."

She stayed close to the well-armed man, but stood between him and 1 with her bandages. Their only medic thus far had to be protected, if there were only 13 to live.

G12 has exitted the tent with the group

12 squinted into the fog, folding her arms a bit. "Perhaps this fog is why we need to wear the masks.." she suggested thoughtfully, tapping the side of hers before trying to make out some shapes in the distance. There were..houses. Creepy old houses.

Definitely houses. Wait.

"Do we want to go rifle through these buildings to see if there is anything we can use?" she suggested. "I'm not sure how much we'll find in there, but even just something to write stuff with would be useful." she added, but didn't make any moves to head towards said buildings alone. She didn't know what was in there.

Frankly she was expecting this to turn into some s**t from Amnesia. HIDE FROM ALL THE MONSTERS MAN. She already had the memory loss. However, she'd ignore the idea of there being anything in the area for her to have to deal with.

"What areas are on that map, anyways? Does seeing any of this give us any idea of where we actually are?"

'Sounds like an idea, but we'll have to go carefully, another group may have had the same idea.' One said, looking at them thoughtfully.

'I suppose the one good thing is that with this fog, everyone is on the same level visually.'

They wouldn't see others coming, and vice versa. So maybe a light source wasn't such a good idea. She was trying to think tactically, because it was their only way to survive, but all she kept thinking was about what Three had bought up, and what they had probably all been thinking about since reading that text.

'Yeah I don't want to wait to be attacked to found that out either but I'm having trouble imagining myself just killing the first person we come across that isn't in our team okay?'

She sighed, tugging at the bottom of the mask again.

8 perked at the idea of more supplies. Would there be more first aid? A better weapon than what was likely a sharpened chair leg? She nodded enthusiastically at 12 and turned to the others as they walked.

"We shouldn't split up more than two to a group, but I think--" she paused. Nobody had names, but numbers just seemed so... wrong. "I think 12 has a good idea."

So it was final. They were all numbers, set out to kill other, differently-colored numbers.

Looking at the other four that had joined him, yII glanced at the map to see what locations there were. As Gamma Eight said, they were probably in the town.

"Looks like we're in the abandoned town, in the north part of the island," he said to Twelve. Going through the busted buildings sounded like a good idea to him. There was no telling if they'd actually find anything, but it'd be good to check in any case. But first, he turned to Three to address her question.

"I say we wait a bit. It might not be a good idea to go off and make enemies right off the bat when there might be an alternative. From there we can decide how we're going to deal with these other teams. Be on your toes though," he said grimly. The idea of killing another was still a little unsettling. Even then, he wasn't sure how effective a BB gun would be to kill someone.

"Let's... just try to see if we can find anything useful like 12 said for now."

“Tell y'all what,” G3 said, checking to make sure her weapon was properly loaded, only to find that it was... with rubber pellets. What a kick in the balls. She harrumphed angrily and snapped the chamber closed, “Those with ranged weapons go in first and scout the rooms, make sure they're empty. That's you and I, Two. If we come into contact, we figure out what they're about. Any hostility... any hostility, and we shoot, alright?”

Her eyes found each of the others through the lenses of her mask, and even without her expression visible, her tone conveyed the seriousness of her words, “Can we all agree on that? I'm not going to lose someone because we waited too long. I imagine they may have been given the same warnings as us.”

8 hazarded a look into a building to her right. It definitely seemed like it was abandoned, or who ever was within was doing a very good job of not breathing. It wasn't like running around in light armor, heaving through a gas mask was exactly the stealthiest way to go. She dared stick her head inside, seeing... only rubble.

"Maybe they took what they needed when they left..." She had an inkling to actually step inside, but wasn't about to do that alone. She listened to what 3 had to say and nodded definitively.

"That sounds like a good idea." There was a horror deep in her gut that someone might die in front of her, though. Were they supposed to just accept that? Her weapon was definitely useless for anything but stabbing, and that was a personal, violent act.

"Sounds like a plan," yII agreed with Three. While he didn't necessarily enjoy the idea of having to take another out, he wouldn't hesitate if his own life was on the line because of it. At least that was how he felt. Grabbing his gun, he handed the map off to one of the others in the meantime while starting to move towards the closest building.

"Might as well start making our way around here. I don't think we'll be able to get too far with this fog though."

8 took the map, glad to be of some use, and stepped back to allow 2 to enter the building closest them. She prayed that there was nobody inside, or would if she remembered what prayer was. She followed only after 2 and 3, still keeping her eye on 1.

One fell quiet, deciding to keep a watchful eye and listening ear out, as all she could do really was follow. She supposed if it came down to it, she could fight with fists but against an armed opponent she would definately be at a disadvantaged and so being alert and following with bandages on the ready was her best bet.

'Who though?' One wondered who had lived in the run down buildings..and if they had actually left. Or maybe this place was this way on purpose. She wondered how many teams had walked around this abandoned town before them.

“Keep her safe,” Three nodded to One. Like the others, she understood the important of keeping their healer alive, even if the healer was a Paladin wearing tanking arm-

What?

The memory slipped away as quickly as it had come, and Three shook her head. It must have been some strange effect of the fog. She headed into the closest building, kicking the door open in overly dramatic fashion and holding her pellet gun as though she were some renegade cop. For a moment she simply listened.

Nothing.

No voices, no footsteps, not even the sound of wind.

“Whatever caused these people to leave could still be around. If you see anything, scream, and don't be a puss about it. Now ain't the time for getting all vaginal.”

"Agreed. It's safer for you two than it is for us with our closer range weapons...or no weapons at all." 12 said, but none the less pulled the nunchucks from her beltholding them cautiously in one hand as she moved. "I'll keep up the rear of our group to be safe." she added, sighing a bit. If nothing else, there was enthusiasm for survival in this little scout party.

She hoped it showed in their members who were still waking in the tent.

None the less, she kept looking around as the first members of their little expedition took the plunge into the unknown. She could already feel adrenaline in her system. This was going to be interesting.
