Andrea Elizabeth HamiltonCaptain Annxxxxxxx Ann, or Captain Ann as her men called her, stood on the prow of her ship, Golden Spear. So named for the golden like wood that had been used to make her, and because the ship seemed to move through the water like a spear heading for a fish. Ann, her real name Andrea was watching the Navy ship her men, had just set fire to, and was slowly sailing away from. Dead bodies littered the water around the burning vessel, and she could see small running forms on the deck, trying desperately to put the growing fire out. She felt no happiness in destroying the ship, or the people aboard, but she felt no sorrow, or disgust with herself.
Sighing she turned to her first mate, who stood just behind her shoulder. He smiled to her, and waited for her orders. He was a handsome man, and her most trusted. His infatuation helped to. "Tell the man I want to be a thousand leagues from here by sunup, then we will celebrate our victory." She ordered lightly, and smiled to herself as John did as he was bade. Afterwards she went to the giant wheel, used to guide the ship. She gently stroked the smooth wood, as if it were her lover, and smiled, deftly guiding the ship on, as the wind picked up, and bellowed into the sail's, sending them quickly through the gentle waves.

Captain Daniel Bradly Cross Captain Cross gazed thoughtfully out of his spy-glass, watching the Golden Spear slink away with it's prize. Normally his dreadnought, the H.R.M.S. Peacebringer, would be too slow to catch up to the faster, smaller ship. But now the Spear was laden down, and the wind was with him. Cross ran a hand through his purposefully dyed hair. He wanted his enemies to know him on sight. Pirate, turned Privateer, turned Naval Captain, Cross was a known, and duely feared, pirate hunter. Cross issued orders, and men, all dressed in the casual rags of pirates, jumped into action. They looked, and when not in action acted, the part of pirates, like Cross himself, but when things became serious, military dicipline showed. The Peace came around, using it's massive sails to gain on the Spear mercilessly. On the bow, Captain Cross stood, fighting the waves for steady aim, using a flintlock rifle he'd modified with a spy-glass for shooting accurately from ship to ship. His purple-hued hair snapped in the wind, and he waited, rifle at the ready, for his chance to shoot.

Andrea Elizabeth HamiltonCaptain Annxxxxxxx The Spear glided perfectly under Andrea's steady hand, and a small smile tilted her lips up. Her red hair was cut short, and kept mostly out of her face by a bandanna, and her hat that looked as though it had seen better days. It had belonged to her father, who had been the Captain of the Black Giant. It had been the largest pirate vessel in the Caribbean, till it had sunk, with her father on it. But before that it had caused a lot of mayhem. She had been fifteen at the time, and had been crestfallen to learn of her father's demise. That was partially the reason she was now a known Captain killing off Navy ships. A lesson to the crown, so she said. She also just liked the adventure.
The sound of the look out, rang out sharply, and Andrea's head snapped up, and to the side, looking to the large vessel that was coming towards them. Her eyes squinted as she gazed at the prow of the ship, her heart squeezing in her chest, and excitement coursed through her. So this was Captain Cross' ship. The known purple headed Pirate hunter. She called to the man that would drive the ship, and quickly moved down to the lower deck, shouting out order's, telling them to ready the gun's, and turn about. The men gaped at her. "Com'on you heard me. We're gonna face'em, get goin." She yelled out, and spun about, placing her hands on her slender waist, while she stood at the railing, watching the large ship coming closer while they turned. Many people though she were crazy, and this just added to it. While most people would try and run, she was turning and facing the threat head on. "No reason in runnin, eh papa. That's what yer taught me." She mumbled to herself, then quickly and gracefully moved back up the deck, coming to stand at the helm, while she looked over her men at work. She glanced up at the purple cast of hair, and pulled her sun, seeing a glisten of metal. She aimed carefully, angling her body slightly, to where she would have a shot of him, but she would be hidden behind the mast as much as she could, without hindering her own line of sight of him.

Captain Daniel Bradly Cross Cross smirked and lowered his rifle. "Smarter than she looks." He tossed the rifle to a cabin boy and drew his cutlass, enjoying the sound of metal withdrawing from leather. He had a feeling she come in close, try to get too close for the bulk of his ships guns. Smart, but risky. A lucky shot could hit the powder stock in her ship, and then it'd be over. And he didn't want that. This girl was going after Navy ships, and Cross took that personally. It was a blatant challenge, whether she realized it or not, and he wanted nothing more than to get face to face, and blade to blade, with her. His crew knew it, and had orders to bring her in alive if possible at any rate. So the fired carefully, aiming at the rigging, to cripple the Spear. Cross, still standing on the bow, his eyes fixed on where he knew the dear girl was hiding, bowed slowly, and gestured with his sword, taunting her to come across and face him.

Andrea Elizabeth HamiltonCaptain Annxxxxxxx The Spear shuddered from the impacts of the gun's. Andrea knew there was little chance of her smaller ship doing much damage to his, but still the Spear's cannon's fired as well. She watched the purple haired man, not really understanding why he had taken purple dye to his hair. She stopped her musings as she saw the glint of his gun move from his hands, and waited for a moment, her pistol aimed at him still. Her ember eyes narrowed, and slowly she put the weapon away, slowly placing her hands on her hips, a teasing, and crude smile moving across her lips. "A true Gentleman would come to the lady, not ask the lady to come him." She called out, the wind seeming to carry her voice up to him. She glanced away frowning deeply as the ship shuddered again. She wanted to curse, and yell at him to stop blowing hole's in her ship, but this was a fight, there wasn't much she could do there, only hope they didn't hit anything vital. She moved to the helm once more, quickly moving the ship closer. If they got blown up, she was going to make sure his ship was damaged into the process. It was really dangerous being this close, rigging's could get tangled, or something else could go amiss, but if she could get his men onto her boat, her men could handle them. She had searched hard and long for a crew. They weren't just aimlessly put together for pay. She had gotten men that knew how to fight, and knew how to follow order's, though she wasn't sure anyone would ever be able to follow her order's without balking. She was crazy, madly so. She let out a peel of laughter, that sounded so very childish, when The Spear bumped against The Peace, and cast a daring look up to Cross, her ember eyes bright, and fiery.

Captain Daniel Bradly Cross Cross sighed and grabbed a rope, swinging across to the other ship. His men ceased fire and came out onto the deck to join him, but he signaled them to stay. "How about it, a fair duel? The winning captain takes the losing prisoner? These are fair terms to me." He waited calmly, as if he wasn't standing amidst a bunch of foul-smelling pirates. Not that he smelled like a rose, but at least he took some pride in his hygene. He half expected her to use her men to kill him, at which point his men had orders to fire, point blank, and drop barrels of black power onto her ship. Cross might die, but what a death it'd be.

Andrea Elizabeth HamiltonCaptain Annxxxxxxx Andrea grinned wickedly when Cross swung onto her deck, and slowly handed the helm over to her second mate, who did not look pleased. She raised a finger. "Okay, but if I loose you will let my ship and men go.. Just as I will yers." She seriously all play gone from her features. Her second mate hissed something out, and reached out for her wrist, she smiled amiably up to him, reached out and poked his side, making him jump and glower at her. "Don't be such a worry wort. If somethin' does happen, you'll make a grand Capt John." She said playfully, like she didn't believe for one second that she'd loose. She slowly came down to the lower deck where he stood, and pulled out her sword, studying it for a moment, and letting her arm get used to the weight, awaiting his response, searching for any nick's, or weaknesses. She kept that smile on her lips, her ember gaze dancing over to him every so often. Her men didn't look happy by her own compromise, but she ignored them, it wasn't their lives she was bartering.

Captain Daniel Bradly Cross Cross lifted his blade lightly, not even feeling the weight. More men had fallen to his blade than to any other weapon in his hands, but he'd never killed a woman, nor did he plan to. Without a word of warning, he attacked, acting as if he wasn't holding back, in spite of the fact that he was.

Andrea Elizabeth HamiltonCaptain Annxxxxxxx Andrea could have growled when he didn't respond to her question, but didn't get to angry about it. Didn't want to get careless and let him get in a blow that he shouldn't. She carefully danced out of his attack, blocking as best she could, though anger soon flared on her feature's. She moved quickly, and planted her foot on his bottom, pushing him forward, her eyes flashing with disgust. "Just because I am a woman, do not hold back!" She snarled out.

Captain Daniel Bradly Cross Cross sighed. "If you insist. I was only trying to be sporting." He flicked his blade lightly, and then darted forward, skimming the deck with his blade. He locked blades with Ann, and, his mass of hair blocking the pirate crews' view, stole a kiss. Then he spun away, planting a light slap on her bottom as he did. He planted his feet, and grinned, winking at Ann as he did.

Andrea Elizabeth HamiltonCaptain Annxxxxxxx Andrea snorted, her eyes still aflame with frustration. "Sporting my a**. Your just like any other man out there. Thinking I'm a weak defenseless woman." She growled out indignantly. Her body tensed in anticipation as he came forward, her muscle's straining as they locked blades. His stolen kiss was what knocked her off balance, and made her stumble forward when he spun away. Her men looked surprised by her fumble, and by the light slap on her rear by the other captain. Andrea on the other hand, did not find it amusing, and spun around to face him, a slow flush working up her neck, though she tried to keep it down. She rushed forward, her blade just above the wooden boards of the boat, she came in close, and brought her blade up, aiming a little bit below the belt, a smirk crossing her features, her eyes blazing with sadistic laughter.

Captain Daniel Bradly Cross Cross blocked for just an instant, making sure his jewels were out of harms way, before allowing himself to be disarmed. He sighed calmly, and put up his hands. "Alas, it seems my swordsmanship is lacking today. Lads, toss me my book, if you would?" They did, and the blue-covered tome landed firmly in his hand. "As we agreed, my ship will go, and I am your captive. Shall I be locked up now and beaten later, or beaten first, and then caged? I merely ask out of curiosity."

Andrea Elizabeth HamiltonCaptain Annxxxxxxx Andrea would never really call this a fair fight. Either he wanted to be close to her, or had a death wish. She couldn't figure out which. "Should just throw you into the ocean, and let the sharks eat you." She grumbled, and motioned the Spear to move on. "Take him to the brig." She snapped, her eyes still disapproving. She watched his purple hair fly down his back as her men took him out of her sight, turning and walking up to the helm once more, standing next to her second in command. "What ya want us to do with the scalawag?" He asked lowly to her, watching her debate. "Sale him into slavery.. I don't know.. When have we ever taken prisoners?" She replied just as lowly. "Never... what do you want to do with him?" He asked once more, badgering her slightly. She was in no way going to tell her second in command what she would like to do with Captain Cross, or the question as to why he had kissed her, and why he had given himself up so easily. "Let him starve down in the brig, till we make port, then we'll do what I just said, sell him into slavery. He's strong, he'll make a good worker for someone." She replied lightly, turning to move to her cabin. "Could always see if you could just.. you know get him to join up with us. He'd make a good addition." He replied, grinning when she shook her head. "No thanks. He's one I don't think would follow orders to well." She replied waving over her shoulder at his ridiculous idea.

Captain Daniel Bradly Cross Cross was pleasantly suprised when the men didn't chain him up or anything. It made the matter of reading his book much easier, and clearly they had caught on that he was in no hurry to leave. He settled himself in calmly, and set to reading his book, wait for the inevitable moment when the good captains curiosity got the better of her, and forced her to interrogate him about that kiss. He grinned to himself. Under better circumstances he would have done a lot more than just kiss her. But as it was a kiss was all he could manage, at least until other events occured. He wondered if the queen would be foolish enough to send men after him. Unlikely, he'd taken down ships from within before. No, his only concern was if some of the crew got it into their heads to kill him with their captain's say so.
