Rules
➠ Gaia and guild rules apply.
➠ Aenakume is the last word, on everything.
➠ I don't need decorated posts, but every post should have: a picture of the character (if possible), a quick description of where they are, and a quick description of what they are wearing/doing.
Characters
➠ All characters will be adults, and living in the apartment complex.
➠ There is no need for absurdly traumatized characters, and no one will be secret government spies or anything like that. Everyone is just normal people.
The Apartment Complex
➠ The apartment complex is huge, including a cluster of apartment buildings, a large common building with an amphitheatre that can be used for assemblies or shows, several pools (indoor and outdoor, fresh water and salt water), a large park with several gazebos, tennis courts, a gym, a library, a small arcade, a bar with a dance floor and a convenience store.
➠ Unless a resident is banned, everyone has access to all facilities - although some (like the amphitheatre) must be signed out in advance.
➠ The apartment complex is ultra-modern, bordering on futuristic; it has nothing that does not already exist today, but everything it has is cutting edge. (For example, there are no keys for the apartments, they open by biometrics (fingerprints).)
 
SHIMS Messages
➠ Any character can send a SHIMS message to any other character, or a general SHIMS message to all residents.
➠ Abusing the general broadcast function could lead to a fine, and SHIMS privileges being revoked.
➠ Only one character - Lupé - has access to the SHIMS logs. Only she can see who sent what. If someone is abusing the system, she can check the logs to see who it was, and give their name to the council.
➠ Not only can you send SHIMS messages anonymously, but, as an extra layer of sneakiness, you can have me rewrite the message. I will keep the content almost identical, but will replace your spelling and grammar quirks with my own. That will make it even harder for other players to guess who is sending which SHIMS message.
➠ When you send a SHIMS message, you must make "space" for it in the RP. You don't actually need to RP sending it (unless you want to), but you can't just do it without setting aside the possibility for doing it. In other words, if you're enjoying a dip in the pool with someone else and want to send a SHIMS message, you can't just magically send it. You have to get out of the pool and get to a computer to do it - or at least, do something that gives you the time and opportunity to do it (like excusing yourself to go to the bathroom). Even if you want to surreptitiously send a SHIMS message using a smart phone, you have to somehow make it possible to do it without the person you're with seeing you do it. This will make sending anonymous SHIMS a little trickier, especially if you don't want to get caught (but if you're clever, you can do a good job of hiding your sending a SHIMS message while doing it while someone else is doing something suspicious... so it looks like they're sending it).

➠ Make your sample an example as the character you are going to playing. Show her in an interesting situation, and demonstrate to me how she behaves. Your sample will determine whether your character is accepted or not, so make it damn good.

Setting
Saria Heights is more than just a new apartment complex, it is an idea made real.
"The Heights", as the residents call it, has been built using the latest technologies, and designed to have a negative environmental footprint - to eliminate more pollution than it produces. It generates its own power with solar, wind and nanogenerators, and purifies its own water from rain runoff and a well. It is the state of the art in comfortable living, while at the same time being a model for next generation architectural design.
Yet despite its next-generation design and cutting-edge technology, the fact that it is a prototype has resulted in it being quite affordable. The result is that the most advanced and futuristic living space in the world is not inhabited by billionaires, but by relatively average people.
And those people lived relatively average lives, until a new feature was introduced by one of the young engineers tasked with overseeing the experimental apartment complex, and adding improvements to it.
It seemed simple at first; an internal messaging system, to allow neighbours to communicate with each other quickly and easily, community organizers to reach out to residents and inform them about community events, and emergency information to be disseminated quickly.
She called it "SHIMS", for "Saria Heights Inter-resident Messaging System" (a bit of a pun, because a "shim" is the mechanical engineering equivalent of a hack, or a duct-tape repair job). Every resident can access SHIMS from any computer, and use it to send messages to any other resident(s), or the whole building. It would allow the community to come together; to go from a bunch of isolated apartments to a unified community.
But this particular engineer had a wickedly playful streak, and in addition to allowing residents to send signed messages, she allowed residents to send messages to each other anonymously. No one would know who a message was from. It opened the door to a whole new medium for pranks, fighting between neighbours and... the occasional secret admirer.
Needless to say there has already been much confusion and recrimination over the new system, and the anonymous messages being sent back and forth. The building council has demanded an end to the anonymous message feature, or that the identity of anonymous message senders be exposed, but the engineer has adamantly refused. Only she knows the truths behind the many secrets blossoming at Saria Heights because of the SHIMS.

Characters
Name: Guadalupe Petalemanto (Goo-wa-da-LOO-pay Peh-tah-leh-MAN-tow), but she usually goes by Lupé (LOO-pay), Loopy, Loop, Lu, Loo, or Goo.

Lupé is 168cm tall, and 55kg, and it is obvious at a glance that if she did not take care of herself she would plump up quickly. With her wide hips and full bust, certainly no one would pick her for an athlete, but she moves energetically and confidently enough that she is also hard to take for a couch potato. Her complexion is startlingly fair, with obvious freckling, and it is not uncommon to see her burnt brightly red in patches from being out in the sun too long without protection. It is also not uncommon to see bruises, scratches or bandages; Loo is not clumsy, but neither is she careful. Most days one might also see doodles drawn on her thighs, arms, chest or other places using pens or markers - some of these drawings can get quite elaborate, and depending on the ink used, can persist for days as they fade away.
Loo has a narrow face with high cheekbones, a sharp chin and a small mouth, a long, thin nose and small eyes that are usually narrowed and crinkling at the edges hinting that she spends much of her life laughing. Her eyes vary between yellow and honey brown depending on the light, but due to her habit of keeping them narrowed, it is often hard to tell. Her lips are set in a constant half smirk. Her hair is naturally red, but she colours it to a deep raspberry red to highlight it, but then never bothers to style it properly, preferring to let it fall where the natural curls prefer, and only using hairbands or ties to keep it out of her face.
Because she is more or less retired and working from her apartment, Loo tends to dress in outfits that she finds comfortable or appealing, but that would not be considered appropriate in an office or even on most city streets. It is not uncommon to see her walking around the complex in a bathing suit, or pyjamas or a nightgown, or even just a housecoat. When she does "dress up", it's usually just jeans and a T-shirt - often a shirt several sizes too big - or a simple summer dress.
Loo also likes makeup and jewellery, but not expensive jewellery - in fact, she prefers cheap replica jewellery to the real thing, so long as it is colourful, shiny or sparkly. She never fails to properly colour her lips and highlight her eyes. However, she does not often have a chance to wear anything more than simply stud earrings, because her lifestyle is so active there is too much chance of something getting snagged or lost. The only piece of jewellery she is never without - and, in fact, one of the most expensive pieces of jewellery that she owns - is her wedding ring.

Name: Juliet Gabrielle Verne (goes by Gabby Verne)
Age: 23
Description: Gabrielle is short (5’) and slender, which is to her preference as she hates to be the center of attention. She was sick as a child, never expected to make it past her infancy. Even after she lived past her expected, if limited, lifespan, she was a sickly child and it shows in her build. Now that she is more active, she has started to put on a bit of muscle beneath the gentle curves that come to her naturally. When left to herself, Gabby moves with a natural ease and grace that might mark her as a dancer; should she be aware anyone is watching her the girl’s movements become mincing and timid.
Despite her slim frame, Gabby has a round face and is frequently presumed to be younger than she is. Chocolate brown colored hair falls to her mid-back but is usually pulled out of her face in a pony or braids. Usually she does not get her split ends trimmed often enough, and it tends to poke out all over by the end of the day. Her eyes are the most dominant feature on her face, large and bi-colored; the left eye is blue and the right green. When she’s out on the grounds she doesn’t wear glasses but has a vanity pair which she wears in public to hide her eyes. Gabby doesn’t wear makeup so her fair skin is apparent- she does wear vast amounts of sun screen in the summer months. Despite trying to keep her fingernails cut short, they nearly always have a crust of dirt beneath them.
To most people it would seem Gabby’s clothing consists of nothing but jeans and t-shirts. Clearly she has some interest in music; most of her t-shirts are old bands. She prefers colors to neutrals and by the time she stops wearing a tee it is ready (and is) turned to rags to use in the greenhouse. Along with her jeans and tees, Gabby almost always has a belt with her tools and two pairs of gloves in it. Her foot wear of choice is brown work boots. On the rare occasions Gabrielle has to dress up, she can manage to look elegant (if uncomfortable) in a dress.

Name: Kelly-Anne Richardson
Age: 23
Description: Kelly is tall (5’10”) and is a slender 125lbs, something that surprises even herself judging by her sedentary lifestyle and her diet primarily made of Cheetos and Coke. Her body hosts only the slightest of feminine curves, “rail thin” is probably the most accurate description of her appearance. Her bright green eyes are constantly hidden by her thick framed glasses and her dark brown hair. Despite her almost unhealthily thin frame, her face is heart shaped and her cheeks are full. Her cheeks dimple when she smiles, something she rarely does outside of her room.
She is, for lack of a better term, a girl gamer. Consoles, vintage gaming, PC gaming, handhelds, tabletop, you name it. She does them all and rarely does anything else. She is somewhat of an agoraphobe, and has to give herself a pep talk whenever she needs to face the outside world. On her occasional trips outdoors, she can be seen in converse or vans, jeans, and a T-Shirt covered mostly by a sweater or a hoodie regardless of the weather. Rarely does she go outside when the sun is shining, and when she is forced out of her room, her hunched shoulders and brisk, awkward pace serves make her look both much shorter than she is and ridiculously tall. If she is approached by someone or is required to speak, her movements are reduced to a fiddling with her hair, the drawstring on her hoodie, or simply to her hands getting jammed into her pockets. Once she gets what she needs from outside, she quite literally flees to the safety of her room.
Her stature and disposition make her upbringing quite surprising. Not even her closest friends know that her mother is a socialite and her father is a quite powerful politician. Her trust fund and her parents’ connections are basically what got her an apartment in Saria Heights. Her parents had hoped that the readily available utilities would’ve encouraged her to be more social, possibly get her out of her shell a bit, but so far it hadn’t worked.
There is not a single dress in her wardrobe, nor is there even a formal looking outfit of any sort. Her shoes don’t have so much as a heel, and the only jewelry she possesses are bracelets purchased off the Geekery section of Etsy.
She is a completely different person when she is in the company of her fellow gamers, whether it’s online or in person for a Dungeons and Dragons campaign. Her movements become more exaggerated and her shy, monotone murmur morphs into a vibrant and boisterous voice. Her smile is practically ever-present when she hangs out with her primarily male friends, save for the times when they’re trash talking.
It is very, very difficult to get to know Kelly if she meets someone outside of a situation where she knows she won’t be judged for her hobbies and lifestyle. But once someone eventually gains her faith in them and her trust, she quickly reveals herself to be incredibly earnest and caring.

Standing tall at 5'1" and 112Lbs, Katharine is of a petite build, her semi athletic frame lean with broad shoulders and a depressing lack of hips and bust. Despite, or perhaps, because of her short stature, Katharine tends to stand with her back straight, and chin up to give her the appearance of being taller. Her style of movement is often quick heel-to-toe strides, taking twice as many steps, twice as fast as her taller peers, the fast steps often add a bounce to her walk that is not present when she is meandering slowly.
Kat has thick and often unruly dark brown hair that tends to curl at the ends and frizz out on the top most layer. Because she lacks the patience to properly manage it, she rather tie it back into a low pony tail or a high half-assed bun. The rare times she wears her hair down in public, the thick strands frame her decidingly European features. Katharine has a round-ish face, with shallow cheek bones, a short round chin, and a small button nose that appears slightly crocked when one looks closely. Haling from a climate where it rains the better part of the year, her complexion is pale, and with a natural resistance to tanning and burning, unprotected exposure to the sun, only makes the sparatic freckles on her face and arms more apparent. Her most startling feature perhaps is her eyes, framed behind prescription glasses, and under dark eyebrows, Katharine's eyes stand out with their shifting color, rotating between varying shades and vibrancy of blue, green and hazel, depending on light, mood and her clothing. Her eyes can appear to be anywhere from olive-drab with amber flakes , a vibrate cyan, or a smoky green.
Clothing wise, Kat's wardrobe is practical, the woman going for comfort and function more often then what simply looks good. Consisting of primarily jeans, slacks, T's, sweaters and blouses of different cuts and hues. Her style is causal to professional, the day's outfit depending on the sort of things she will be doing. -- It is not uncommon, day to day, to also see her wearing some sort of hat, be it well favored ball cap, or a sleek fedora, Katharine owns hats, like most women -including herself to an extent- own shoes.
Though Katharine enjoys jewelery, she wore little day to day, a silver ring with the intercit Celtic design for Infinity on her left middle finger, on her right index a plain silver band, and on her right ring finger, a silver band with a raised Dragon and Phoenix. When appropriate, or when the mood strikes, she wears simple necklaces, and ear-rings, often just plain studs. - For make up, the rare times that she would wear it, she normally just highlights her eyes and lips, rarely having a reason to go full out with the face paint.
Katharine has three tattoos, each with a personal meaning. The first, a tiger and dragon fighting, is on her right shoulder blade. The second is a small tribal eagle tattoo on the inside of her right leg a little above her ankle. The last was the most complicated, from elbow to the top of her arm, is a rising phoenix, and shaped out of flames and shadows is the fiery form of a woman.

Name: Tristan Waters
Age: 22
Description: Tristan is often mistaken for a boy. She is tall, slender, and flat as a board. Her style of dress does nothing to help this, androgynous jeans and slim fitting shirts that only make it all the more obvious she has no tits. Even her voice makes the discovery difficult, it is low and husky. Low for a woman, a bit soft for a man. Tristan doesn’t mind however, her vaguely gendered appearance helps her snag girls who may not have gone for a girl but don’t mind finding out once they’re in the sack. She never hears any complaints. Ambiguous though she may look, Tristan rarely to never claims to be a man (generally only for someone else’s benefit). She enjoys being a woman.
Though Tristan can roll out of bed and look good, but she also can spend plenty of time in front of the mirror making sure her appearance is right. Her hair is short and choppy, carefully careless. Her natural color is a dark brown, but unless she’s in the sunlight it tends to look almost black. Tristan has a slightly long face and wears little makeup other than eyeliner. With her dark hair and lashes, her bright green eyes are catching. Most of her clothing comes from the men’s department (or the boys, given her slight build). Skinny jeans and red converses are common along with wife beaters and men’s button up shirts. Her profession shows through her clothing with little, nerdy details here and there.
Tristan moves with and exudes a natural confidence. She is rarely seen without female company of some sort when she is out to have fun. When she’s not “working” there is a lazy sort of sensuality to all Tristan’s actions. She has a smile that warms others, and something knowing in her eyes that makes a promise. When Tristan is “working” there is an intensity in her nature that is only otherwise seen in the bedroom. She’s usually hyped up on too much caffeine and can get irritated if she is interrupted or distracted.
