Rules and Procedures

This contest will be open for submissions until Tuesday, July 5th at 10 AM EST. I currently have three slots open for Alternate Civilian Art. All entrants must already have an accepted character with official art -- either powered up, civilian, or student, it doesn't matter which one! The theme of this contest is What if In the Name of the Moon were a movie? Your job is to give a concise but thorough explanation of who would play the part of your character in a movie, why you picked that actor or actress, as well as what role your character would fulfill in the plot. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Below is a very short sample entry. Feel free to write more than this! You will be judged on how well you write out your reasoning, not on blue's agreement with your choice of actress/role, so make it good. Example Entry Character Name: Ever AmbrodielOfficial Artwork: Civilian ArtworkActor/Actress: Joseph Gordon-LevittWhy this actor/actress: JGL has always had the right look for Ever, the right shape of his eyes, the right jaw, and the right neck. He also has a certain dweebie charm that suits Ever -- and is an amazing and diverse actor willing to play a lot of different roles. Hopefully he'd be willing to dye his hair. What role would your char play? The unsuitable love. Ever just isn't cut out to be someone's one and only. The main love interest would fall in love with him, they'd mess around for a while, and then Ever'd do the dumping, or potentially get caught cheating. After having their heart broken by Ever, the main love interest would move on to find their true love. Character Name: Miss DaphneOfficial Artwork: In all her civilian glory!Actor/Actress: Natalie Portman Why this actor/actress: First of all, look at that gorgeous face? She really does a good job at being disingenuous and sweet, Natalie is the perfect girl next door. Yet in spite of that she's played some incredibly serious roles and has an ability to portray any emotion that comes her way with some serious skill. I think her expressiveness and sometimes even her lack of expressions (Queen Amidala anyone?) really lend to Daphne's personality. Never mind that her eyes are the perfect color and that hair! I could go on forever. Suffice to say that Natalie Portman is my perfect Daphne. What role would your char play? The Girl Next Door. Everyone knows her and almost everyone likes her, but the Audience never really find out too much about this girl that the Lead has known forever. She's just sorta there! Yet somehow when the Lead Character needs a shoulder, or a pep talk, or just a warm body in a room, there she is. She's their best friend and your number one supporter. They've exchanged notes across the yard through bedroom windows since they were five and when the Lead has their heart broken? Yep. Best galpal next door. Outfit description: This skirt and top combo~These shoes~This necklace~Then whatever sort of bangles you wanted on her wrist but I did want some kind of simple bracelets.

Character Name: Finn DerouenOfficial Artwork: Civilian!Actor/Actress: A young Owen WilsonWhy this actor/actress: I think when I first started my quest for Finn, I used Owen Wilson as a hair ref. But it wasn't until really recently that I was sitting in a theater watching Midnight in Paris that I was like, "Holy s**t, Owen Wilson is Finn." He's a comedian, but he's also done some more serious roles in quirky indie movies. I think that this duality fits Finn really well - he's charming, he's goofy, he's slightly awkward, and he can be serious when he really needs to be. What role would your char play? Finn's the awkward, slightly goofy protagonist in a studio film that desperately wants to be an indie coming of age story. What he lacks in a romantic subplot he makes up for in character development, going from immature slacker to courageous young adult during a summer working as a park ranger. Critics receive the film as being "beautifully shot, but flagrantly manipulative on every level and derivative of earlier films like Adventureland." Outfit description: Cargo shorts, Tevas in your choice of color, Either an ironic detergent logo or Captain Planet on his t-shirt, a clunky sports watch and a couple woven bracelets. Covered in mud like he's been wandering around the woods all day, maybe a bright-colored water bottle clipped to his belt?

Character Name: Eve SummersOfficial Artwork: Civilian ArtActor/Actress: Elisha CuthbertWhy this actor/actress: This image. The hair is perfect, the look she has is perfect; she has that cute but 'oh, I totally know what you're doing' quirk of the lips that is just so Eve! And look, she's even wearing Flora's colors! What role would your char play? The Heartbreaker. Eve has an issue with commitment and would much rather indulge in casual dating than attach her heart to just one person alone. However, she may have to deal with unwanted feelings for the Main Character, who expresses interest with her as well. She struggles with these emotions, but eventually will push them away and reject the Main Character, especially if the Main Character is not who he seems... Outfit description: This! She'd wear that white shirt underneath the poncho.

Character Name: LissyOfficial Artwork: School outfitActor/Actress: Ramona Marquez Pic of herWhy this actor/actress: Lissy was based on Karen from outnumbered and this girl plays Karen. It is really quite simple! Karen was one of the main inspiration for Lissy's annoying personality and where she gets all her endless questions from. Also it would be easy enough to get a wig on her and she would be perfect smile She would just be able to be herself and be perfect and as she was also in the Kings Speech she has proven that she can play more serious roles as well! What role would your char play? The annoying little sibling! There is one in every film! That one they have to baby sit when they want to go out and follow them all the time. The stereotypical annoying sibling! She would be the one who found out the older siblings secrets that are hidden in their room. She would be the one who got caught up in their older siblings drama and ends up being the one that needs rescuing! Outfit description: DressHatShoes

Character Name: Xavier AveryOfficial Artwork: Eternal SenshiActor/Actress: Johnny DeppWhy this actor/actress: Mostly, Johnny Depp just fits the part of how I think Themis would look like if he was a real person in the real world. It's all in how his face looks, really, and the fact he wears glasses like a pro. Xavier isn't quite the kind of role he would be used to play, but Xavier does sometime get pretty quirky, especially clothes-wise. What role would your char play? The Artist, definitively. For Xavier, music is his life - he simply cannot imagine himself doing anything else but being a DJ, it's just a matter to getting there first ! He isn't doing for the fame, or the popularity, but for the sheer love of his art. He also has the quirks any good artist is rumored to have. He is also learning to play instruments alongside just mixing, to be able to do as much of his mixes himself as possible - he is starting to be quite decent on the guitar, and will learn even more during his class times at DCU. Even his senshi powers have to do with mixing sounds/noise ! One could argue that he could also be fitting for The Geek, but I believe there are better characters out there for this archetype. Thin(SMALLBOOBSOK), babylike face, large eyes. Looks younger than what she really is. ....This is going to be a bad movie ref but XD She was the main baddie in sky high... the one whom played the innocent friendly girl, and YET was the bad guy >_>;; IDK MAN. What role would your char play? The spy. She melds into the background, acting innocent and like she is no one important. But really she is getting close to you, befriending you, finding your weaknesses to either strike when she is ready or report to someone higher. She is the one they really should be watching out for. Character Name: Eilian Halpan Official Artwork: Super Albali Actor/Actress: Eve Myles Why this actor/actress: Besides the fact that she's an a**-kicking badass of a woman, her voice and face are perfect. She's Welsh just like Eilian! Her voice is somehow how I've always imagined Eilian sounding and the looks are just a pile-on. What role would your char play? This ain't your normal teen movie. If it was it would probably be something conceptually similar to Gossip Girl. Eilian? She's the Gossip Girl. The one who gets into every inch of everyone's lives and just has to tell about it when she's done. If she were older and in an action flick? Eilian would definitely be the Go-To Gal. Character Name: Coralie Westerman Official Artwork: Super Chibimoon Actor/Actress: Kuroki Marina - Check the bottom for pictures of her!Why this actor/actress: It's her breakthrough role! Yes alright, so I am somewhat cheap and picking an actress that has played Sailor Moon in the past. But! Whenever I think of Allie her face comes to mind. Her face, her manner, everything about how Marina has been portrayed even as an idol just makes me think of Allie. Her looks are even perfect so I figured hey why not! What role would your char play? Definitely the New Kid. She's not sure of her reception in this new place and time and acts a bit shy and awkward because of it. The Lead Characters probably would take notice of her and take them under her wing where the ice breaks and you find out this New Kid is a lot smarter than she looks! Outfit description: All of this. Exactly this.Hairstyle. The ends of her hair should be somewhere around her wrists and should be a bit poofy. Magical physics go! SHE CUT HER HAIR. Bit more hair ref~

Character Name: Azzo CrowleyOfficial Artwork: Niflhel Page (This hairstyle only it's suppose to be black) | Old Civilian Stage (this is the better eye color reference) Actor/Actress: Christopher GorhamWhy this actor/actress: I didn't really know about this guy until Chiri showed me and then Carneli added in and they showed me clips of him from Covert Affairs and a I found a few 'pre-season' trailers and while Azzo isn't blind he's that 'simi-knowledgeable'/'protective'/'tool' type character that it seems they're making Auggie out to be. Which is basically what Azzo is, and has been for almost two years now. Even though I'm trying to work him out of the oblivious tool stage, it's never really easy going. And from what I've learned from Carneli and Chiri on the character as well, he just seems to be the best fit for Azzo. (My other option was Orlando Bloom..... gonk ) What role would your char play? There's not quite a single role for Azzo, though perhaps his biggest thing that he would ever want to do is be the Hero. Though he's probably never really quite there, he might get the girl but he might also lose the girl because he doesn't realize she's jealous of him saving other people. In a matter of speaking he's the flawed hero that probably ends up doing more harm to himself than good. He's the hero's best buddy, even though he's a bit of a control freak and tries to plan everything out a head of time like it's a play or a pre-scripted show and not life. Outfit description: Vest and Shirt 1 | Vest and Shirt 2 | Pants | Pocket Watch 1 | Pocket Watch 2Azzo is often found in an outfit much like this, he wears his sleeves like Patrick Jane's 'rolled' or 'pushed' up near his elbows. His button up shirts are normally colors like pale blue, purple, or maroon. His pants and vests often match colors, in shades of grey or black, with patterns on the vest and sometimes they follow down to the pants. (see refs above) He also normally wears his grandfather's pocket watch with these outfits. (No tie.) This is sort of his his 'work'/'normal' outfit type deal.

Character Name: Sheldon HobbesOfficial Artwork: bazinga!Actor/Actress: Kermit the FrogWhy this actor/actress: Oh, I'm serious. Kermit is already a well versed thespian in the arts of movies and television, I think playing Sheldon could be a crowning achievement of sorts. He does kind of look like the boy too, the green and all. Kermit wouldn't have to change a thing! Just put on some clothing. I'm sure he could really pull of the placid, indifferent nature of Sheldon and he's also really good at flailing, which Sheldon does do a lot. What role would your char play? Obviously he's the stoner. But the type that finds himself in some whacked out adventure ala Pineapple Express, the Big Labowski, Dude Where's My Car? or anything involving Jay and Silent Bob, just more terribly mundane and not as exciting even though it seemed like it at the moment... and no one else cares about xD I think he's more of the Silent Bob or Saul role, but at times he'll have his moments of stepping out from the sidekick character with random bits of insight for the situation. Outfit description: I'm going to be lame and copy and paste from the last contest. Deal with it. . hairstyle: pretty much the same, though it tempts me to have it pulled back in a low ponytail. Character Name: Ridley PendergastOfficial Artwork: kittens!Actor/Actress: Joey KingWhy this actor/actress: Honestly, I've never seen this child in any of her roles, someone pointed her out to me, and she just looks right. She also played Ramona and if I remember anything about those books, its a pretty fitting role akin to Ridley. What role would your char play? The neighbor kid who is always at the protagonists' house, who you think is apart of the family but really isn't and its made all the more obvious since they keep talking and asking so many annoying questions about the family and just won't leave the family alone. And you're like, dude.. does this kid have a family of her own or something? Why is she always at this house? And you expect that maybe there is some tragic backstory of how she's always ignored at her own home but no. No, she's really just bored and likes to annoy all the neighbors by talking. She also got well into this family, by defending the youngest sibling by beating up the person that was bullying said younger sibling. Outfit description:Hair like normal! Put some cute daisies in her hair though biggrin ! I like this dress, except no plunging neckline. She's nine, she has no boobs so have it go straight across instead. these shoes. Yup, pink and skulls, do you really think she'd match? Her mother is silently crying from her fashion choices, but Ridley thinks she looks awesome! Also, no socks. And maybe a small cat purse, I couldn't find good ideas on google, sorry >:

Character Name: Billy Roadinger Official Artwork: ClickActor/Actress: Drew FullerWhy this actor/actress: The face is right in virtually all the right aspects, and he is capable of pulling off that bored see-right-through-you look that Billy commonly has. Drew's got the right build, as well. He also has experience playing a soldier. What role would your char play? In horrors or schi-fy adventures, he is that a*****e with few appearances, but big contributions. You know the kind - you any see them every now and again, they appear aloof and generally uninterested in what is going on, but when confronted actually gives away important information to help spur the plot along. Outfit description: Black button up shirt, dark jeans, rather generic shoes, Cowboy hat, and some sort of bracelet.
