It had been too long. Way too long. But it was over. The doctor's visit had confirmed what Matthew had already known.

He was healed, and he was good to go.

And so he was hunting. It was almost too easy to fall back into the paces of the hunt - gather energy, watch out for senshi.

This one drunk hadn't offered too much resistance, energy quickly gathered, but he lingered. He knew he shouldn't, but... it was tempting.

There was a bright little star in this man's chest, similar to the one the whole world could see through the hole in his own. Small, fragile things more precious than the rarest jewels. Once, his own starseed had fascinated Alunite - but now he found much more fascination in those born in other's chests.

But no, this man's what not what he wanted. He shook his head, hid his passed out victim, resisted the urge, and turned to continue on with his night.

"For what reasons does a Senshi go about mingling with the Negaverse? For what reason does the Negaverse tolerate a Senshi amidst their ranks? I do wonder..." A voice said from the dark.

Moonlight glinted off the metallic bits of her fuku. A Senshi perched nearby in the shadows, atop a tall brick fence accross the silent road from where Alunite was.

"And why," she continued, "Must a Senshi have their starseed changed in order to serve them? Can they not simply choose to do so with out? As far as I know, when a cat awakens a Senshi, nothing changes about their starseed. Their soul. To me, if your soul has to be forcefully changed like that, then there is something wrong with what you're doing."

A car zoomed by, casting light on Bellatrix for but a few short seconds, then the road was dark and quiet again.

He has company. When had she sneaked up on him ? Had he truly gotten so distracted ? Sloppy. Bad.

He'd gotten rusty. An eternal, at that, if he was reading the aura correctly. Perhaps teleporting would be the right choice, but...

But if he kept running from every damn eternal he saw, he would never learn a damn thing.

"Quite demanding, arn't you ?" They never listened. They never understood. It was something that Alunite was convinced about. He'd tried, he'd honestly tried, and wanted, to make them understand why they were wrong.

They never listened, and now there was this eternal making demands. It only made him even less willing to give out said answers.

"What makes you think I want to explain myself to you ?" Lost causes, all of them. He'd given up.
PostPosted: Wed Aug 24, 2011 11:49 pm

"Because," Bellatrix began, hopping off her short perch. If he decided to attack, she wasn't going to take it sitting down, "I want to know just who, and what, I am supposed to be fighting. I want to understand...this war. I don't know about you, but I was simply handed a henshin pen and told to fight. No nifty explanation about who, how, or why. I'm done fighting blindly. I'm looking for answers."

Bellatrix could play at being intimidating. Actress that she was, she knew the generic attitude, stance, lilt to her voice... Sometimes the trick to not having to fight was simply intimidation. It came easier with rank. An eternal now, Bellatrix found that the small fry didn't want to tango.

"In the end, "Bellatrix held her hands out, palm up beside her, "We all want to purge this world of evil, don't we?" They dropped back to her sides, "It's all a matter of perception from there. Each side views the other as evil. But you see, the thing is...The senshi have no reason to believe the Negaverse is evil, other than what they have been told, or seen. I would like to know why the Negaverse believes that we are evil. No. More than that - I want to know how the war between Senshi and Negaverse began. But alas, finding an unbiased version of the story..." she shrugged.

"So, I am gathering information. Making comparisons. Seeing if I can get down to the truth. To achieve peace. I don't want war. I simply want to live an ordinary life here on earth - the only home I've ever known. Like any ordinary human being."

Too bad the small fry didn't intend to just take it, either.

"That must suck." He couldn't help but taunt. He knew exactly what he fought against. Exactly what he fought for.

And he still saw no reason to lay down at her feet and tell her.

And so he charged, aiming to punch her midsection. No use revealing his power.... yet.

What Bellatrix wouldn't do to have a car just come careening down the street as he charged her. Really. That would have been pure comedy. No sense in hoping though. The distance allowed her a little bit of time to react, stepping just out of the way and retaliating by aiming an elbow at his back.

"Just because I don't want to fight, doesn't mean I won't defend myself."

"Of course." He flinched a bit at the kick, but remained upright. "It certainly wouldn't be fun if you just let yourself beat into a pulp."

Handy ? Of course. Fun ? Certainly not !

This time, she wouldn't have the advantage of distance - he kicked at her ankles, trying to knock her off her feet.

"I'd settle for some answers."

She was knocked down, coughed a bit, and sought air after having it pushed from her lungs by the fall. A moment later though she had a heel coming up to try and greet the corrupted Senshi.

"You seem a little obsessed with that. But then again, it does seem to be a running theme with you guys."

Really, how many senshi had he met that barely seemed to know their purposes ? That seemed downright lost and abandoned ?

Good thing he'd never been there.

He'd moved to attack her from another angle, which unfortunately ended with heels right in the midsection.

It really wasn't a good sensation, and he stumbled back a bit, holding the source of the new, flaring pain on reflex.

Bellatrix took to opportunity to scoot away, and get back to her feet.

"Obsession is good for the drive. Motivation. Come now, give me a reason to want to fight."

Bellatrix jumped back, on to the brick wall. Behind it was a quick route to the park. At this time of night it would be unoccupied, save for the random homeless person. It was better than fighting on a sidewalk or in the street where the occasional car could come and flatten them.

She made another leap back~

Alunite frowned, and fell for the bait. Hard. He came running after her, not using his power just yet. Doing it while she was actively moving away from her would be a waste of time - literally.

Every seconds counted, both before and during. Time had to be carefully managed if he didn't want to outright waste his energy.

Her words could have been taken multiple ways, but oh, he'd give her a reason alright.

As soon as she stopped jumping off.

This more foresty part of the park was good, Bellatrix thought as she ran, weaving between trees and taking cover in their shadows. She had gotten a lead, and hooped she'd hidden without being seen. Her plan was to leap out and tackle him as he came running by in pursuit.

Did such a thing really work? She was willing to lay her faith in cartoon-logic for just this once.

This was one of the things he'd been told to, during his training - never lose sight of the enemy. He had a rough idea where she was, at least, when she ran behind a tree and never came out.

Well, then... He stopped, calling forth his magic. "Umbra Eclipse, Dark Moon !"

And then, if she had turned to look, he quickly faded out of sight, and his aura became completely unreadable.

And now he was coming up for her, with only the faint steps betraying his presence.
PostPosted: Fri Sep 02, 2011 12:30 pm

At first when his aura seemed to blip out, she wondered if he decided to teleport away like some Negas were oft to do, but there in her stillness she could still hear foot steps, although there was nothing to see. Well, he had called out an attack as well, hadn't he?

Bell made sure there was a tree at her back so that the now invisible corrupt senshi could not attack from behind, and she readied herself to fight an opponent she couldn't see. Because did it really matter, here in the pitch dark shadows of the trees, if she could see him or not? Should would have been straining to see him in the first place, she reasoned.

If anything, this told her he probably didn't have an offensive attack. Probably. And she'd been learning hand-to-hand combat.

"You know, I only wanted to talk. You're only being a dumbass by attacking me. Putting yourself needlessly in harms way... I'm sure the Negaverse frowns upon that... After all, they're outnumbered already, are they not? You should think about your self-preservation...."

And the more she talked, the more she proved she knew nothing about what she claimed to fight.

If they were so afraid of injury, then they'd never get anything done at all. Every night one went out, they risked facing a senshi. Or even multiple senshi. It was a risk they knew. A risk they had to take.

A risk they all came to accept, to save the planet they walked on. It was not his planet, his world, his place - but Alunite fought for it, nonetheless.

Her words perhaps had the opposite effect that she intended them to be. He wasn't some newbie, wet behind the ears. He wasn't the pushover she seemed to percieve him to me.

He wasn't exactly a pushover in the hand-to-hand department, either. And she'd prepared for him, so the only open area he had was the side.

So that was where he struck, using the last few seconds of invisibility he had in hope he'd catch her offguard... if only slightly.
