 Welcome, rookie, to the toughest bunch of police dogs this side of Cook County. Summerwood's police department is known for its excellent K-9 work and for the... relative diversity of its breed pool. This is a recruitment thread for a very special squad of K-9 units. If you've got a brave heart, the drive to succeed, and the will to do whatever it takes to bring justice and safety to all, then maybe a place in this squad is for you.
It also helps to have really short legs.

About Us
Essentially, this is a little subgroup of police dogs that's led by Pippin, the most ambitious corgi in the city and the very first short dog on the police force. It works like a regular pack, only instead of alphas, you have the Captain and the Lieutenant.
Rules
Summerwood's Finest are outstanding police dogs, admitted on the basis of something extraordinary in their character and abilities. However, they must all have a few basic qualities.
✬ First, they must be courageous. Dogs who hesitate to do the right thing, no matter how scary it might seem, are not squad material.
✬ Second, they must be respectful. Breed-based discrimination is not allowed, and bigger isn't better.
The Captain is a corgi and he welcomes all potential applicants to the squad. Pitts, Poms, or Irish Wolfhounds- all are welcome.
✬ Potential squad members must obey their superiors.
✬ High-ranking members must never give an unethical order.
✬ Summerwood's Finest must uphold the law at all times and must never treat anybody unjustly.
✬ No squad member will ever hit the streets without a partner. Partners are assigned by the Captain and the Lieutenant, although specific
partner requests will be reviewed and usually granted.
✬ Membership in Summerwood's Finest does not exclude membership from other organizations or families. Feel free to take a mate and have pups!
Ranks
Just like any other part of the police force, a chain of command must be established for work to be carried out efficiently. The rank system is pretty simple, but doesn't work like a normal dog pack does. The lowest rank is just as important in their own way as the highest rank.
✬ Captain- the big boss of the squad, in charge of assigning partners and patrols and making sure that everything runs smoothly.
✬ Lieutenant- the Captain's right-paw dog and partner. Subordinate to the captain but treated like an equal.
✬ Sergeant- the highest rank a normal dog can attain. Sergeants are highly trusted and often allowed to handle things on their own.
✬ Detective/Officer- the normal rank for an adult dog. Detectives are better trackers and investigators, while
Officers are the beat-down dogs, the ones who rush in when things go wrong and patrol the streets making sure that all is well.
✬ Rookie- a dog who has just joined the force. Rookies choose whether they want to be Detectives or Officers when they complete their first mission.
✬ Junior Corporal- a puppy who wants to train with the force. When they grow to adulthood, they will be given a real mission and then will become a Detective or Officer.
Promotions are based on ability and generally handed out by the Captain and the Lieutenant making a decision, then seeing how the Sergeants feel about it.

Joining
Right now, this is really easy. Just post your police dog to join, and note if you're interested in being the Lieutenant. I'm planning on leaving that post open for a little while until there's at least a couple of potential choices and some RP gone on to see who can play a good LT.
In the future, there will be a more detailed form.

Police Bulletin
Potential plots and important things will go here.
✬ There have been a few reports of packs of street dogs beginning to form, with one of them looking very well-organized. Eventually, this needs to be investigated.
✬ We need to increase the range of our general patrols!
✬ Officer Meet'n'Greet- interaction with other officers will make assigning partners much easier and more fun for everybody.

XD If Hazard gets some buddies in his pack, I can definitely see a conflict plot in the future. This would be amazing.
Hazard is not pleased at the prospect of a freaking corgi getting in his way.

 Wiley would love to join the squad! He's a true cop through and through! I'm interested in putting Wiley up for Lieutenant! Though I need to get off my butt and actually start RPing him now that I'm off hiatus.
