Pach fidgeted slightly as he waited for Tin in their usual grove. The last few weeks for him had had an almost magical feel to them. He'd never been so happy in all his life. Spending time with Tinúviel had made him more sure of himself, whether it was dancing, talking or just spending quiet time together.
Today though...today would be slightly different than normal. He glanced back over his shoulder towards the edge of the grove. He'd finally brought a member of his family, his brother Beat, to meet the mare he lo-- liked, he corrected himself blushing slightly. He took a deep breath and hoped today would go well. It had too...Tin was the best thing that had ever happened to him, he couldn't imagine being without her to brighten his day.

Beat hovered around the edge of the forest where it met the grove, mostly because he had gotten distracted by a fairy ring and was trying to decide if the mushrooms were okay to eat, but also because he has no idea what his brother brought him for. Nipping one of the caps off the mushrooms, he looked up and around the grove curiously.
"So what are we doing here? Gotta a new dance you need help with? You usually don't come to places like this unless you do..." He said, leaning down to bite off a few more mushroom caps and happily eat them.
"I mean, it's unusual as it is since you've been all....wander...ey and going away from home. Dad's wondering if you've lost it completely--"

Tin trotted happily through the forest. Today was yet another good day - she'd managed to sneak away from the herd without the notice of her family again. The grove would be as welcoming as ever, and Pach would meet her there, just like every other day... Her version of 'normal' had changed drastically in the last few weeks. She came out of her shell a little more every day, much to her own amusement, and Pach returned the favor by sharing his dancing with her.
Reaching the shrubbery at the edge of the grove, Tin stopped, seeing a silhouette on the other side. "Pach?" she called, curious. He usually waited in the middle of the grove, not right up next to the boundary - that way, she wouldn't run into him as she jumped over the hedge. But this figure... It had something translucent hovering over it's back, like... Wings?
"Hello?"

Pach turned to answer his brother when his ear flicked catching the sound of Tin's hooves. His hearing in his opinion had improved greatly since being with Tin, and learning to listen to the wind. He turned quickly to smile and reassure her that everything was okay. He knew he should have warned her that he was bringing Beat, and was prepared to getting chewed out about it later, but he thought that if he'd said it out loud he would have chickened out.
"Its okay, Tin." he said. "I want to introduce you to someone." he said motioning for Beat to come forward. "This is my brother, Beat."

"Oh Pach, you have to try these mushrooms! They're great!" He called back at his brother again, grabbing another mouthful of caps until the fairy ring was completely destroyed. Beat's ears pricked forward upon hearing another voice. One he wasn't used to and had never heard before.
"Who's there?" He asked, looking up at the pretty mare coming to stand with his brother. "Oh, uh, hello..." He mumbled, his mouth still full of mushrooms. Swallowing, the stallion pranced over to her, bowing his head down.
"It's lovely to meet you~ I'm Beat, may I ask your name?"

Tin frowned internally when she saw Pach's brother eating the mushrooms out of a fairy ring. Eating one of those had to be bad luck, plus the dryad part of her was slightly offended. She kept it to herself, though.
"Hello," she replied, smiling shyly at the unexpected visitor. She was a little unnerved that Pach had brought Beat by without consulting her, but she knew she might have been a bit inhospitable if he had told her. "My name is Tinúviel. It's good to finally meet you." After all, Pach did talk about his family all the time... She'd wondered when she would get to meet one of them. Of course, she wasn't sure she would ever build up the nerve to introduce him to her family...
Looking at Pach, she bumped him with her hip. "What's on the agenda today?" she asked, wondering what he might have in mind, if he wanted to show Beat something.

Pachelbel looked between them, introductions seemed to have gone well enough at least. He sidestepped slightly as she bumped him and colored slightly. "Ah, well. I...had hoped we could hang out...the three of us and you two could get to know each other a bit." he said hoping he didn't sound as nervous as he thought he did. He knew he was in an awkward position, but Beat's approval was one step closer to taking her to the grove and letting her meet their parents. Something he knew he Had to do if they ever decided to stay together. Even their father had met mother's rather unusual family.
"And...we could...show him our dancing...if you wanted that is." he said trying to think of something to break the ice to get the conversations started.

Beat blinked, briefly catching the frown on her face and panicked.
"Ohno, I've done something wrong! You don't like me! Pach she doesn't like me!" He buzzed and flitted around the grove in distress, completely managing to miss her introduction to him and not even trying to think anymore about why his brother suddenly brought a girl over to visit.
"What did I do? I didn't mean to upset her...but she hates me! She frowned! Why?!"

"Oh, no!" Tin said, thinking with almost panicked thoughts. "No no no no no," she said hastily, looking from Beat to his brother and back to Beat. "I don't hate you, I swear," she pleaded, trying to figure out a way to calm down this guy. He was nothing like what she might have expected. "I like you! I just didn't expect to meet anyone new today." Trying to keep up with Beat's antics was difficult. Turning away from Pach a little, she tried to stop Beat in one place.
"You didn't do anything wrong, I promise," she said, trying to smile comfortingly at him. Turning to Pach, Tin looked him in the eye. "He didn't do anything wrong. Right?" she asked, hoping that Pach would indulge her little show to calm Beat down. In truth, she didn't know whether her friend would know that something was up, but she hoped he knew that she was trying. Beat's approval would be nice to have. "Here, come talk with Pach and me," she said, and realizing that it seemed he hadn't caught her name, added, "My name is Tinúviel, but you can call me Tin." She gave him another smile, and moved back toward Pach, hoping he would follow and calm down a bit.

Pach started at his brother. Yes, he'd seen Tinúviel frown, but he was sure that had just been from the sudden appearance of a third entity in what was at this point pretty much their grove. "Its fine, Beat. It really is." he said hoping to get through to his brother. "Tin just wasn't expecting you. I didn't tell her either that you were coming today."
He watched Tin step in and try to comfort his brother, he quickly nodded when she looked to him for back up. "That's right. Everything is fine." he smiled and shifted just slightly sending out a soothing peal from his bells, much like Del had done when they were little and scared in the night, or during thunderstorms. All those fears had passed but the memory of comfort and safety would still be there.

Beat continued to babble for a few moments longer until he realized Tin had moved closer to him. He paused and looked at her, wings buzzing intermittently.
"Tinúviel....s'pretty." He smiled and let out a sigh of relief. "I'm glad you like me...I think? And that I didn't screw up...I'm always afraid of screwing up...sorry." He smiled and looked her up and down, fully taking her in for once. "You're very pretty too. How....do you know my brother?" He finally asked, tilting his head and following them to talk.
"He's never mentioned anyone...but he has been running off a lot without saying anything. I just thought it was to practice or something..."

Tinúviel blushed deeply at his comment under her dark coat, turning her head away. "No, you didn't screw up." Looking at Pach, she walked to stand next to him. "I stumbled upon him dancing in this grove," she replied, grinning at her friend. "He's a really good dancer, you know."
Tin blinked at Beat's 'running off' comment. "Well, we've been practicing," she murmured. Pach had been sneaking off too? Well, weren't they just a pair of little rebels, she thought sarcastically at herself. If Beat had noticed, one of the herd would be sure to notice soon as well. If it was her brother, everything would be okay, but if her father or mother did, or even her biological father... She'd get the lecture of a lifetime. Suddenly concerned, she shuffled her hooves a little anxiously.

Pach noticed Tin shuffle a bit and moved closer hoping his nearness would make her feel better. He didn't know exactly how that would work, but in his mind it seemed the right thing to do. He'd learned over the last few weeks that following his instincts was often a good idea around Tin even when they didn't make sense to him.
He blushed slightly as she complimented him. "I offered to show you, if you want Beat." he said. "Its...different than the stuff mom taught us." he said grasping for words to explain. "But sort of the same...its about control and following the sound...but...different too..." It really was hard to explain, and so much easier to show when it came down to it.

Beat nodded quietly, looking between the two suspiciously. He quickly changed to a bright smile and flopped down in the grass of the grove, eagerly awaiting a show.
"Well let's see it then!" He called out, jingling the bells in his tail happily. He might not have cared much to dance often, but he loved watching his family do so. Pach especially, finding his brother was actually quite talented at the art. He figured, this was much as good or better now that he had a proper partner that wasn't their mother.

Tin's eyes widened at Pach. She was extremely self-conscious around boys that weren't him or her brother or her father... And suddenly she felt frozen to the spot, just staring at him incredulously between nervous glances at Beat. She didn't know what had gotten into her, but she couldn't dance right now. Even the voices of the trees got mixed into the clamor of all of the rest of the sounds in her head - Tin couldn't think, either. Closing her eyes, she felt Pach's warmth as he edged closer to her, calming the churning in her stomach. Exhaling, she opened her eyes and felt the world begin to still around her.
