Name: Mariana
Nickname(s): Witch, Mary
Age (Appearance Wise): Twenty
Age (Actual): A mere couple of months, having wandered into the city the night of October 31st
Personality: While giving off the air of confidence and a high self-esteem, Mariana is actually very unsure of herself and easily discouraged (but, of course, she would never let you be made aware of that). Boasting about things she has done, whether are not they had actually happened, isn't a form of self-defence or protection, but an attempt to make herself look better in the eyes of others and impress. She has a bad habit of lying, claiming to have done great things or to place the blame off of herself if something were to go wrong. Sometimes she even claims to be able to do magic, being a "witch" and all, but dismisses others for not believing her when they ask for proof or a show.
Thoughts on the Forest: Much like some City Folk, Mariana believes the forest to be a sacred place. Since arriving in the city, she is almost afraid to enter the forest again, superstitious of things that could possibly happen.
Thoughts of Book Children: Having not had the chance to meet any others of her kind, she is very eager to meet and try to impress, another Book Child.
Thoughts on City People: Mariana has yet to make an opionion over the City People other than they are very interesting, though often frustrating with their lack of audible speech. Who wants to look at someone every single moment they're with them, just to know what they're saying?
Physical Appearance: While she is fairly attractive, Mariana likes to see herself as one of the most beautiful people one could ever meet. Her almond-shaped, bright, blue eyes set a heavy contrast with her dark complexion, a mix of natural pigment and sun bathing. Her wild, messy hair frames her oval shaped face (complete with a 'cute' nose), held up by a purple bandanna; decorated with colorful beads. Her outfit has seen better days - ragged and torn here and there, but it has been given obvious care and cleaning. Dressed in somewhat former attire, her dress is a faded shade of orange, complete with delicate purple accents, including a regal corset. Mariana is also seen often with strange and sometimes incomprehensible markings on her hands an arms; most believe them to be notes to herself.
History: So far, there is little to her story since birth; Mariana kept mostly to herself. In all honesty, she longed the company of others and often spent most of her nights imagining meetings and different ways to impress those she meets. Most of the time, however, she spent settling herself in and making sure she was comfortable. Sometimes she missed being in the forest, often times sneaking out at night and making it so far as the guards around the gates, but most of the time she would chicken out and head back home; afraid of getting caught or not being worthy. That's a fear that she wouldn't let anyone catch wind of, of course. Instead, she would climb to the highest points and look out. Having never been that great at magic, she spent most of her days practicing - but to no avail. There were many times she had toyed with the idea of giving up, but what kind of great witch would she be then? To this day, she tirelessly works on her abilities; lying to others when it comes to the subject of how great she is.
Hobbies: Writing, spinning yarns, reading, writing on her skin

Favorite Things: Melon-type vegitables (such as cantilope, watermelon, etc), reading the stories of others, telling tales
