Walking silently through the hibernating forest, Alexandre found himself venturing further and further away from his childhood home in search of something new. This was not quite yet the journey he would eventually take all across the Kawani lands, but it was far enough away to be a break from his regular scenery. All the new smells that filled his nose led to a surge of adrenaline to course through his veins. He felt alive despite everything around him appearing to be dead. The cold snow that filled his hooves also attributed to sense of excitement. When it had last snowed it had been his first winter and it had been a magical one with his family. Him and his brothers were able to venture away from their parents together without sneaking away without them knowing since they could easily blend into their surroundings.
The times he had shared with his family were pleasant ones, and now that they were all moving on pursuing their own paths the void that was left in their absence made his heart at times ache. But it wasn't often and thankfully wasn't today. He was to excited to know what could be waiting around the bend. He honestly hoped their would be another soquili there, but if there wasn't that it would be the most breath taking peaceful place he had ever been to in his life.
After what seemed like forever Alexandre finally emerged from the forest into a open field with what smelled like flowers. The snow had not yet reached this part of the lands, which left him feeling a bit disappointed but he would manage. Walking slowly through the field he took in every scent the flowers had to offer him. He could always find something calming about flowers, which most stallions probably would have mocked him for. Honestly, he couldn't blame them. How often was it that a full grown stallion stopped to smell flowers? He guessed a mouthful every five winters. If even that many.
Taking a moment he stopped and unfolded his wings, spreading them out as far as they would go, then pulling them in to encompass the flowers that surrounded him. His mask hung from his face, covering his muzzle and other features. It wasn't to often that Alexandre took his mask with him, but today he felt that danger was a possibility and thus took it with him. Although, whatever damage one did to his face wouldn't really matter as he was already completely blind.

The winter was enough to put a chill in her blood, and life to her already wild hair. Chandelle skipped across patches of frozen thorns on her way back to the glen, a gifted, yet obviously worn, blanket tossed over her back. It's dark red patterns was a sharp contrast to her pale pelt, but she didn't care so long as it kept Jack Frost at bay. He was a cruel devil, he was. Always sweeping through, trying to kill her flowers, but she'd show him!
Oceanic eyes took in the sight of her stalwart field, hanging in despite the snow ready to drown them all, and landed on a strange sight; a lone stallion. It wasn't that unusual to see others parading in these lands, as she'd told everyone who would listen that it was a safe haven for all, but most came as couples or family groups. It was the rare soul that came to her without anyone at their side. And what a soul he was! As pure as the snow, with wings like those of Father Winter himself!
"Hello, stranger!" She called out, stepping around a patch of stones carefully, her cheeks flushed with excitement. If nothing else, Chandelle loved making friends, and with that, chatting it up. "It's a pleasure to meet you, friend. My name is Chandelle, and I'm glad to see someone else enjoying the flowers as much as I do." She smiled, just noticing the mask he wore. How strange. Was it meant to be intimidating? "I hope you don't mind my asking, but are you resting, or have you come for a wedding?"

Despite having excellent hearing, Alexandre had not actually heard the mare off in the distance until she had began to talk. Taken quite off guard he stiffened his whole body and waited for someone to come up behind him and end him. However as the mare approached and nothing happened he felt relief flood over his body and his muscles loosened their hold. "Hello there miss Chandelle. It is indeed a pleasure." He responded, bowing to her, his left wing extending down to his chest. After he had properly bowed he moved his wing to his mask and removed it. Once it was off he used his wing to protrude through the eye holes. He then righted himself again and pulled his wing tightly to his back, the mask caressed between his back and wings.
"The flowers, they smell quite delectable." Alexandre said with a smile. Her next question caused his cheeks to redden quite feverishly. With a cough Alexandre responded. "I'm afraid not miss. I'm still very much stud." He smiled softly. "Do you live here miss Chandelle?" Alexandre asked. Still slightly taken aback by how friendly and welcoming this mare was he decided it might be alright if he asked more questions. "Are there usually couples coming here to seek life mating?" He further asked, tilting his head ever so slightly to one side.
