The doberman had been trotting along the sidewalk heading back toward her owner's house. Her owner was also the owner of her brother and also currently what was suspected to be Benoni's -the male behind her- sister. They had the same name he was looking for a Niobe, but at the same time you could never be so sure if you were talking about the same dog. There was beginning to be more and more dogs in the neighborhood. She wanted to lead the male back to her house to make sure that they were talking about the same dog. Abla was normally a very kind dog and to show the male where her sister could be she had no problem. She wasn't that sure how her brother was going to feel about her bringing home a strange male dog into the house but she was sure that he would understand he understood a lot of things that Abla did.
She knew her owner was away too, he was currently not home. Normally their owner would bring Santos with him, her brother Santos was the lead police dog, however today their owner had paper work to do and would be doing it for most of the day so she knew that she wasn't going to be worrying too much about him showing up he was going to be away for a while. She paused for a moment starting to walk between her house and the house next to it, heading toward the backyard. "You'll have to crawl under the fence and through a bush but it's big enough for my brother so it should be big enough for you." she laughed a little, she knew that her brother was much larger then even herself he was a great dane, she knew that the other male could fit through them. She wagged her tail behind her before turning back toward him and nodded.
She paused and then pushed her way under the fence wagging her tail behind her with a smile on her face. She waited for him to come out of the fence before nodding. "Wait right there." She stated before trotting up the stairs of the back porch and up to the doggie door of the house. "Santos!" She barked scratching the doggie door with her paw before turning back toward the other male and smiling. "The big lug is probably taking a nap." She laughed a little as she said that moving closer to the male. "He'll be out, I'm pretty sure of it." she was excited, she liked this other male he was pretty cute, not only that but she liked to help others, she didn't care who they are she just really liked to help them whenever she could. She was a helpful dog.

Following her was the easy part, but the deeper they went into the neighborhood the more uneasy he grew, this world wasnt apart of his. His ears twitched and swivel at each unknown sound, you never knew where a dog catcher might be lurking and he had lived this long without being caught.
At the sound of Alba's voice his attention was drawn back to the petite dobie, he had to admit she had a cute little tail, but that wasnt the point at the moment, she might be leading him to the sister that had been lost to him so long ago, a sister he had been hunting for.
He followed her directions, and even though it was a tight fit, he managed to get under the fence and through the bush, Benoni was a large male, even for his breed he was a big boy. He didnt sit, nor did he relax.
Her brother was a police dog, and Benoni had, had his share of run ins with the law before, he wasnt as excited as he should be, he started to look for a quick exit just in case this was a dead end.

Santos had, in fact, been napping. He was a busy father with two rowdy boys to take care of. The fact that they were next door with their mother giving him a break was like heaven to his big, tired body. So it was with a little moaning a groaning that he rolled off of the (beaten up) couch and squeezed himself through the large doggy door that could probably fit a human.
Normally he would smile brightly at his sister, but he was dragging a little. Instead, he whined. "I hope this is important, because my nap certainly was." He stretched his long legs and sat back on his haunches on the deck, and that's when he finally noticed the male. Who looked a lot like Niobe. That set him on edge a bit. He sincerely hoped that this had nothing to do with her, because while she wasn't his blood, she was still his, and he wasn't willing to give her up. "Who's this, Abla?"

Abla turned toward the male and then smiled softly. She could tell he was tense, she could feel it in the air. She wished that she could do something to make her feel better but she wasn't sure if she was going to be able to do that but she was hoping so. She wagged her tail around and then flopped down on her haunches and then waited. "He wakes up slow." She noted to him with a laugh amused by this. She always was, he was very hard to wake up from time to time. And then she saw his head poke out followed by the rest of his body.
She smiled and nodded to her brother. "It's very important!" she wagged her short tail behind her before motioning to the male. "Well, Santos, this is Benoni." She grinned ear to ear. "I met him wandering around today and well... he's looking for his sister and he looked a lot like Niobe, and he said that was her name." She paused once again nodding at the male before speaking. "I mean it could be a mistake but I think it is the same Niobe and he wanted to know if I had seen her and I said we might have." She smiled a little and then glanced toward the male and then back at her brother. "I wasn't sure if she was in, I thought you would know." Her brother was much closer to Niobe then she was. When Abla was home she normally was hanging out with Aida and the cubs, she never really knew what to do with Niobe. She didn't have anything against her but Abla normally kept herself busy else where.

Benoni watched Santos, and he had a feeling he'd met this male before, he gave a nod to Alba to confirm what she was saying. "Yes, I am looking for my sister.." He felt as if he was about to have to go to war for her.
"We were separated as pups.." He said trying to make sure that this guy knew that he wasnt some low life who had neglected his sister or something, but he cared a great deal for her.
"And Im not sure there are very many around with her name regardless how the population grows..Shes unique." Benoni shifted slightly before he shook his head, "Alba thank you for the help, but I think this might be a waste of time."

So this did have to do with Niobe. Santos's heart ached a bit, and his fur ruffled at the idea of putting her in the path of an unknown male. They did look similar, but that could just be a rouse. And if it wasn't, Santos was well aware of the cruelty of family sometimes. Still, he couldn't keep her separated from her brother if he had good intentions. He wouldn't want to be separated from Abla.
So though he could have let the male walk away, Santos sighed and shook his head. "No, wait. Let me call for her. I think she's home." He turned and ducked his head through the doggy door and called her name. "Niobe? Come outside for a minute?" When he turned back to his sister and Benoni his eyes were narrowed. "If this is some sort of trick, or she doesn't want to see you, you will leave my home immediately, or I will chase you off myself."

Abla looked between the two and her tail wagged as her brother called out the other female. She was pretty excited for this and she was hoping it would all work out well, but she was feeling a tension and she wasn't even that sure why. It wasn't just the male, but it was also her borhter. She didn't understand why, not at all, she didn't get it. It was making her a little upset but she was going to pretend like it was okay and keep doing what she wanted to do. She flicked her ear and waited she heard Benoni talk then made a face. "No Benoni! It's not." she encouraged, she was a little quiet when she did.
She turned toward her brother at his comment and huffed shaking her head. "Santos be nice." She warned with a growl, she was not happy with her brother's behavior, not at all anyway. She did not like it when her father got like that. She would actually get pretty mad. She was normally not one to get mad, she understood most of the time, but right now she wasn't going to take what he was saying, this wasn't the time, not to her anyway.

Niobe had been found by Santos and taken in by him and his owner and raised as if she were his pup, and she had grown and taken instantly to search and rescue training and she was quiet good at her job. While their owner had been at his desk, and Santos was napping she had been checking her gear and making sure all things were in the right place just in case, you never knew when you would be called.
So when she heard her name being called it was simply her training that had her coming to attention and heading down the stairs. "Coming!" she barked out.
Benoni's ears went back, he would have snarled if it wasnt for Abla with them, who did this guy think he was? "You cant keep me away from my sister..she is MY sister, MY blood, not yours." He said in cool tones, if this was his sister no would keep him from seeing her.
He stood his ground, they had been so small when their mother disappeared on them and he wasnt about to lose her again if he'd found her.
Niobe passed through the doggie door with ease, it had been built for the giant Santos and so it was very easy for her to pass through it, she smiled at the sight of Santos. "Yes?" She glanced around and saw Abla and an unknown male, who looked...familiar.

"She might as well be my blood," he snapped, his hackles bristling. "I took her in, kept her off the streets, and raised her like my own. She's just as much my baby as my two boys. I'll be nice when I know she's not going to be hurt." He glanced at Abla, but forced himself to calm down as he heard Niobe approaching. He didn't know how to gently explain what was going on, so he told her the truth and hoped she could handle it.
"This male claims to be your brother." Somehow there was only a minute amount of malice in his tone.
