So, you're interested in playing Battlegrounds, are you?
This will be a basic run-down of the game.
Please remember, we are still in the VERY early stages of this, so bear with us.

To participate in Battlegrounds, you must have an Azrein that has Stats. For all information regarding Stats by themselves, please go Here.

Battlegrounds revolve completely around not only your Azrein's stats, but their level, edits, and alignment as well. For now, though, we'll only be focusing on how stats directly relate to playing Battlegrounds.

Read on, read on.

Each battle will have a Base Damage that you add to your attack. Please keep this in mind when calculating your damage.

To attack, you must first roll a D10. Your attack depends entirely on what you roll.

If You Roll... :
xxxxxx/ / . 1 : Enemy counter-attacks for a critical hit. [ See Luck Post ]
xxxxxx/ / . 2 - 5: Miss
xxxxxx/ / . 6 - 9: Hit
xxxxxx/ / . 'Natural' 10: Critical Hit. See Luck Post for Critical Hits.

To determine basic damage, you subtract your opponent's Defense [Courage] from your Attack [Strength].

SPECIAL CASE 1: IF an Azrein's attack is LOWER than the opponents defense:
xxxxxx/ / . Roll 1 D10 - this will be normal to see if the attack will hit or not.
xxxxxx/ / . IF A HIT - Roll 1 D2O - This will be used to determine the damage caused by the attack.
xxxxxx/ / . Total Damage is calculated by subtracting your Attack [Strength] from your opponent's Defense [Courage], then adding the number obtained from the second dice roll, and finally by adding the battle's Base Damage. [Defense - Attack + 2nd dice roll + B.Dmg = Total Damage Dealt To Enemy]

SPECIAL CASE 2: If an Azrein's attack is EQUAL to the opponents defense:
xxxxxx/ / . The attacker will begin as normal and will roll 1 D1O
xxxxxx/ / . IF A HIT - Both players will roll 1 D2O each.
xxxxxx/ / . If, as a result of the 2nd roll, the attacker has the higher number, the battle's Base Damage will be the attack.
xxxxxx/ / . If, as a result of the 2nd roll, the defender has the higher number, they receive NO damage.

For example:
[ N O R M A L _ C I R C U M S T A N C E S:
The Base Damage for the Battle is 20.
If your opponent has 30 defense, and your attack is 72, your opponent takes 62 damage.
72 - 30 = 42
42 + 20 [Base Damage of Battle] = 62
< 72 - 30 = 42 + 20 = 62 >
]

[ C A S E_ O N E:
The Base Damage for the Battle is 20.
If your opponent has 40 defense, and your attack is 30, you will roll a D1O to determine if the attack hits.
If the attack hits, you will then roll a D1O. This will determine your damage. Let's say, for this example, you roll a 9.
You now add the 9 you rolled to the battle's Base Damage, 20.
9 + 20 = 29
The total damage your Opponent takes is 29 HP.
]

[ C A S E_ T W O:
The Base Damage for the Battle is 20.
If your opponent has 40 Defense, and your Attack is 40, you will EACH roll a D1O to determine the outcome of the turn.
If you rolled a lower number than the Defender, they receive NO DAMAGE.
If you rolled a number higher than the Defender's, the Defender takes the battle's Base Damage.

Base Damage = 20 ]

To determine your Azrein's HP, multiply your Stamina Stat by 5 and add 20.

[ For example:
If my Azrein's Stamina was 26, it's HP would be 150.
< 26 x 5 = 130. 130 + 20 = 150 >

Each battle will have a Special Attack Base Damage [ Sp.Atk. Base Damage ] that you add to your attack. Please keep this in mind when calculating your damage.

To attack, you must first roll a D10. Your attack depends entirely on what you roll.

If You Roll... :
xxxxxx/ / . 1 : Enemy counter-attacks for a critical hit. [ See Luck Post ]
xxxxxx/ / . 2 - 4: Miss
xxxxxx/ / . 5 - 9: Hit
xxxxxx/ / . 'Natural' 10: Critical Hit. See Luck Post for Critical Hits.

To use a Special Attack, you subtract your opponent's Charisma from your Intelligence.

Then, you add that number to the designated Special Attack Base Damage the Referee set for the battle.

[ For Example:
Your Azrein has a stat of 50 Intelligence.
Your opponent's Azrein has a stat of 30 Charisma.
You subtract their Charisma stat from your Intelligence stat.
50 - 30 = 20.
Let's say the Referee made the Base Special Attack 40. You would then add 30 to the B.Sp.Atk.
40 + 30 = 70.
The total damage you do to your enemy is 70.
]

xxxxxxD E T E R M I N I N G _ S P

Intelligence determines how much SP [Special Attack Points] your Azrein has.

For the first 10 points of intelligence, every Azrein gets 5 SP.

For every additional 10 points in Intelligence, your Azrein gains 1 SP.

[ For Example:
Your Azrein has a stat of 34 Intelligence.
So, they have the base of 5 SP for the first 10 points.
Now, your Azrein has 24 points left to use. For each full 10 point increment after the initial ten, your Azrein gets 1 SP.
So your Azrein would get an additional 2 SP on top of the initial 5, giving them 7 SP total

SP are shown during as battles as small symbols, what we call 'Pips.' [Working title?]

To use Special Attacks, you must spend a designated amount of SP. For a list of the current Special Attacks, please go Here. ]

At the beginning of each battle, each player will use their Speed Stat to determine who goes first.

Each player roll's 2 D6's. You add the total to your Speed.

The player with the highest number goes first.

xxxxxxD O D G E

To determine if your opponent's Attack or Special Attack hits, roll a D2O.

If you roll a 17, 18, or 19, your Azrein evades!

However, if you roll a 1 - 16 or 2O, your opponent's attack hits.

Upon landing a critical hit. ( A 10 on the attack dice), you now need to go through the process of determining how much your CritHit will be worth.

Take a very good look at your LUCK stat. That number determines how many Magic Numbers you can try to get a 200% crit with.

The amount of numbers you can pick depends on your Luck Stat. The higher your Luck, the more chances you'll have to get a high critical hit ratio.

See the chart below:
User Image

Using the Random Number Generator, generate a number between 1 and your Luck Stat.

IF:
xxxxxx/ / . Exact Number of those selected: Mulitply your attack by 200%
xxxxxx/ / . One Number off of those selected: Multiply your attack by 150%
xxxxxx/ / . Not any Number of those selected: Multiply your attack by 110%

[ For Example:
You rolled a critical hit. Congratulations.
Take your luck. ( Say you have 43 Luck)
Pick the numbers you want to chance your critical hit with. [ 8 numbers because of Luck stat; 40 Luck = 8 Pips, so 8 choices : 1, 4, 43, 20, 17, 28, 11, 36 ]
Run the RNG. ( RNG pings at 12)
Count where the number lays. [ Picked number was 11, so one away from a picked number. ]
Determine Multiplyer. [ 150% -- One number off of a chosen Number ]
Add that to your attack, and subtract it from your opponents health.

Defense is fairly simple. When you're attacked by an opponent, you make a Defending Roll.

Roll a D20.

If you roll a 17 - 19, you evade the attack.

If you roll anything else, the attack hits.

To determine how much damage is done, subtract your Defense [Courage]
from your opponent's Attack [Strength].

[ For example:
Your HP was 150.
Your opponent attacked for 24. You have a defense of 15. You did not evade the attack.
24 - 15 = 9.
You would post 9 Damage Taken. HP Remaining: 149

Essentially, Sp.Def is nearly identical to normal Defense.

When you're attacked by an opponent's Sp.Atk, you make a Sp.Def Roll.

Roll a D20.

If you roll a 17 - 19, you evade the attack.

If you roll anything else, the attack hits.

To determine how much damage is done, subtract your Special Defense [Charisma] from your opponent's Special Attack [Intelligence].

[ For example:
Your HP was 150.
Your opponent used a Sp.Atk for 40 Damage. You have a Sp.Def of 15. You did not evade the attack.
40 - 15 = 25.
You would post 25 Damage Taken. HP Remaining: 125
