Mushroom Identification;;
Thanks to her mother instilling in Yikae a love of mushroom-hunting, the young girl has become quite skilled at identifying various types. She can tell the difference between mushrooms and truffles easily. She is also knowledgeable in what the properties of the various mushrooms are, when the are able to be harvested, and what they can do to the body. Some types of fungi, for example, might be poisonous to consume for food, but when prepared in another manner, might be able to benefit an individual medicinally. This is a skill that Yikaelyn has had to memorize mentally, due to the fact that she is unable to read very well. She has seemed to have managed, though, and is quite proud of her extensive mushroom knowledge.
Dog training/handling;;
A lot of the truffles wouldn't have been found if it weren't for Omrin, Yikaelyn's dog. Omrin, however, wouldn't have been able to find said truffles if it weren't for Yikae, so he has her to thank for that. The young girl's love of animals comes in handy when it comes to training her dog. Yikaelyn is patient enough to not only train her dog (or other dogs, if any neighbor wants their dog to be trained) in various tricks, but is also keen on studying the behavior and attitudes of the canines. Omrin is able to hunt for truffles, but he's also trained well enough to stay by Yikaelyn's side and listen to his master when she tells him something. The young girl takes her job of training and handling the dogs very seriously, but she still manages to have a gentle and loving relationship with them. It's not surprise when she tells people that her dog is her best friend.

Caring for animals;;
Ever since she was a little girl, Yikaelyn has always had a love for animals. Her grandparents noticed the little girl take interest around the time she was able to walk. Growing up in a small farming village probably helped in gaining such a love for them, but her gentle nature attributes to it as well. She loved to play with them ever since she could remember, and would often spend hours outside with the animals on their farm. When she got older, both her grandparents and her mother weren’t surprised when she readily volunteered to start taking care of the livestock as well. Not only does she play with them, but also she quickly took up feeding, watering, bathing, brushing, and even cleaning up after them. While others would consider it a chore, all of this is something she just loves doing. On her family’s meager farm, they keep a variety of animals: goats, a few sheep, a coop of chickens, a llama, and an old horse. Each and every one of the livestock they own is special (she has named every one, for example).
Spending time with the elderly;;
Every once and a while, one might hear Ingrian or Seula, Yikaelyn’s grandfather and grandmother, comment on how children don’t appreciate their elders in this day and age. The younger generation doesn’t seem to respect their superiors as much anymore – at least, in their eyes. They are grateful, however, to their granddaughter, and they always make a point of telling her this. Yikaelyn has always enjoyed spending time with those older than her, which is mostly due to the fact that she had no siblings her own age to play with. In her youth, little Yikae used to sit on the edge of her bed, captivated by the stories and myths her grandparents told her. As she grew older, her love of their stories never wavered. She loves to listen to what the elders in her village have to say, as they possess a way of looking at things few in her village have anymore.
Mushroom hunting;;
It all began when she tried to eat a colorful mushroom – or at least, what she thought was a colorful mushroom. That pretty little fungus turned out to be a poisonous toadstool, however, and a four-year-old Yikaelyn was lucky that day. Her mother, Kajurie, stopped her from eating it before she even had a chance to bring it to her mouth. That was the day that the Aether mage was first introduced to the world of mushrooms, and ever since then she has never looked back. Mushroom hunting brings out the adventurous side in Yikaelyn, what with having to trek through the woods and search around with a sharp eye in order to find the edible treasures. The girl’s mother was the one who taught her everything she knows: from how to identify the proper mushrooms, to how to distinguish edible ones from inedible ones, and even telling her how eating the wrong type would affect her body. This is a hobby that the two of them would do together, every Saturday, without fail (provided the weather was decent). Not only did it allow her to spend time with her mother, but gathering mushrooms also produced another mean for which her family could earn some money. Whatever she could gather, Yikaelyn would keep a handful of mushrooms for the use of her family, and then put the rest up for sale in town to come up with some extra money for her grandparents or mother to use.
