It's a warm day--summer is certainly here, hot and dry. Clouds on the horizon, peeking curiously over the hills, are the only ones to be seen. Other than that, the sky is a deep blue, at once cool and warm. Heat rises off the pavement in visible ripples. Seeking solace from the unrelenting heat, you ask for directions to a local park, and soon find it. You're just looking around for anything--a drinking fountain, a fountain to dip your feet in--when you see something glimmering in the distance. A greenhouse? How curious! You make your way towards it, and as it gets closer, you see that it seems to, indeed, be a greenhouse. Someone had apparently once built a large stone building there, but everything above three feet off the ground has been replaced by sheets of clear material--thick glass, or possibly very clear crystal or plastic. You're more distracted by a sign over the door. It reads "Chitin Castle" in florid script. Aha! Sounds like a gym if ever there was one! You open the door and slip inside, a bell attached to the doorjamb jingling in announcement of your entrance.

Inside, you follow a series of corridors. Plants hang from the ceiling, grow out of troughs and pots in the floor, climb over walls and through gaps in the glass. Bug Pokemon can be seen among the plants in several rooms with plants from many different biomes. Most of the rooms you pass through are hot and humid, but eventually you make your way into a huge room at the center of the structure. This room is a little cooler, and at the other end, a bored-looking woman sits on a stool, reading a book. At the sound of your footsteps, she looks up expectantly.
"Ah, welcome to Chitin Castle!" she says with a smile. "I expect you're here to try your luck for a badge?"

We aren't all just about fighting here--we're also interested in new creatures. The idea here is pretty simple--design a new Pokemon (using drawings or just old-fashioned word descriptions). You don't have to go into all fancy detail about moves, just what it looks like and what types it is will suffice. (However, they must be something more than "like that Pokemon, but a different color" or "like that real life animal, but cuter." You must be more creative than that!)
Anyone who enters will be put into a raffle for the Anorith above (he grows into Armaldo).

Battles
Every so often, I'll open up three slots for battles. First come, first serve. Battles will be rolled on one ten-sided die, whoever gets the higher score wins. Battles are best two out of three. If you win, you will get the badge and be entered into the raffle for that week. Raffles begin Sunday and end Saturday. There will be three rounds of battles. You may only get one ticket per week--please let other people who haven't battled yet have a go!
