Um.... no.... sweatdrop
In terms of publishing, plain Astray came first by about a month or so - enough time to establish the story for Astray.
When it comes to timeline, though, Astray and Astray R happen at the same time.

The basic thing to keep in mind is that all but the final chapter of Plain Astray part 1 happens first.
Now go back and read Astray R volume 1.
Now complete everything else as you feel like it.

That's the only stipulation with the Astrays.

---

Now, as for my library... I went ahead and bolded what I consider to be excellent reads.

Mobile Suit Gundam 0079 volumes 1-5, 7 (Discontinued by Viz over a year ago, and recently ended in Japan... with book 10)
Mobile Suit Gundam Blue Destiny

Mobile Suit Gundam novel books 1 and 2 (Electronic format)
Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: Episode Zero
Mobile Suit Gundam Wing (entire manga - volume 1 as a volume, the rest as individual issues)
Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: Ground Zero (Lisenced Doujin)
Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: Battlefield of Pacifists
Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz
Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: The Last Outpost (Known in Japan as G-Unit)
volumes 1-3 (discontinued)

Mobile Fighter G-Gundam volumes 1-3 (iirc, discontinued)
Hobby Japan Sepcial Issue: Kido-Butoden G-Gundam GUNDAM FIGHT THE 3D (Model book of the G-Gundam kits - including many scratchbuilds and mods).

Gundam X: Under the Moonlight Chapters 1 and 2 scanslated

Turn-A Gundam Chapter 1 scanslated

Mobile Suit Gundam Seed volumes 1-3 (gonna get rid of these soon - the translation by Del Ray is pure s**t, as is the art)
Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Astray volumes 1-3
Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Astray R volumes 1-4

Gundam Bigbang Project: Gundam Heroines (Artbook of all the females of Gundam. Period. Gift from my girlfriend for our first Anniverasry)
Pojo's Unofficial Guide to Gundam Wing (Hey, it was free)
The Art of Gundam Wing

So... that's it.

really, cuz in Astray 1, they talk about Astray R and the Gerbera Straight was made during Astray R according to my book

Because they were being made at the same time.

Oh, and in case you needed more convincing... Chapter 1 of Astray R contains the exact same events as Chapter 1 of Astray as a flashback - the real only difference being the difference in artists, seeing as how the writer is the same.

The big thing about Astray is that Plain Astray focuses on the sidestory of Astray itself - featuring Lowe, Gai and just about everyone else.
Astray R focuses on Red Frame - hence it being secondary to Plain Astray.
Astray B focuses on Blue Frame - but because it's a photonovel, we might not get it over here for a good long time.
Astray X is the sequel to Plain Astray, and we've been waiting for that for a good while.

Any more questions?

Wel, Astray X has been fanslated (translated by fans) in quite a few locations - but nothing official.

And nothing for Astray B whatsoever.

EDIT: Figured I might wanna make a small clarification with the Astrays.

While Plain Astray is the basic storyline, Astray R and B are actually sidestories that happen alongside the main story. Important story events in the main story, though, are placed into the sidestory - such as the Red Frame v Gold Frame battle in volume 2 of Astray being placed into Volume 3 of Astray R.
The big difference between the main version and the sidestory version of events tends to depend on the style of the manga (and, quite possibly, the translator used).
I'll list one example in white, as it contains spoilers.

The final fight between Lowe Gear (Red Frame) and Rondo Ghina Sahaku (Gold Frame Atamu) in Astray Volume 3 is a fast-pitched battle - with Lowe and Ghina arguing back and forth about how the future can be created, both making their points elequently. During this battle, the Gerbera Straight is shattered, and Lowe gets the s**t kicked out of him.
Gai shows up in the nick of time with his Blue Frame Second L (an upgrade given to the Blue Frame in the B sidestory by Lowe himself) - tossing Lowe the Tatical Arms, which allows Lowe to eventually win.

However, Astray R's version in it's volume 3 forgoes much of the debating and intellictual thought put into the script of Astray volume 3 - instead making the fight more like your sterotypical mid-series fight, with insults and death threats exchanged.

What I really found interesting was, while Lowe makes an elequent speech in Astray 3, he instead spouts trash talk in Astray R 3. Examples are as follows:

Note that I've also decided to make notation for explanation where it could be needed.

---------------

Astray 3:

Ghina: "What a Joke! The P03 [Blue Frame] can't help you now! I'm gonna litter space with your derbis!
Lowe: You psychopath! Stop! This is insane! I know the Gold Frame wasn't built to take part in the senseless destruction of lives!
Ghina: You blathering idiot. Weapons are made to cause destruction!
Lowe: What?
Ghina: The lethal armaments of the original Gundams [the original 5 units of the GAT-X series in Seed] are attached to the P01 [Gold Frame]! It was tainted with blood since it's creation. Annhiliation is it's calling!
Lowe: You're wrong! It was made to protect the things that are important to us! I can feel Gold Frame's tears in my heart. I also feel the Gundam's tears. Many have been destroyed while trying to bring peace. I absolutely refuse to believe that their sole purpose is to cause destruction!

---------------

Now, compare that to the dialogue used in Astray R volume 3...

---------------

Astray R 3:

Gai: Lowe Gear... you have to make it through this. You can always repair your sword!
Ghina: Quiet, you fools! Ayeeaaah!! !!! [Yes, they have three excalamtion points seperate from the rest of the 'sentance'.]
Lowe: My duty as a junk tech is to repair things! That means I have just one thing left to do. I'm going to repair my sword!
Ghina: Yaaarrgh!!
Lowe: My pride depends on it!

---------------

Sadly, those two scenes take up the approximate same amount of time in their respective mangas.
What goes from a rather cool debate (like what goes on in most Gundam shows when fighting the final battle) becomes a rather odd narrative of screaming.

This becomes really odd when you notice that all of the Astray properties (Astray/R/B/X and Destiny Astray) are all written by the same person.

In any case, the timeline of Astray pretty much flows like so:

Astray / R / B (all happening at the same time, approximately) --> Astray X --> Destiny Astray

Sadly, Astray X and Destiny Astray... not to mention Astray B... aren't out in the US yet.

English:

I currently have the first volumes of Astray, Ecole du Ciel, and Lost War Chronicles. I'm planning to get all of Ecole du Ciel in English (there's at least 6 volumes released in Japan right now), and complete Lost War Chronicles (it's only 2 volumes IIRC).

Japanese:

I have volumes 2 and 3 of MSG: From the Place Beyond the Blaze and Tony Takezawa's "Gundam: The Parody," which is a collection of parody shorts drawn very closely to Yaz's "The Origin" artstyle. Right now I want to get the collection of 4-panel humor manga that has been serialized in Gundam Ace regularly.
