Phoenix: *Was out collecting herbs and flowers to make a healing balm when he saw a rainbow flash acorss the sky. He paused, raising his eyes and glowing eyes to it. It was rare he was up in the day enough to catch the elegant bow of colours.... but today had followed a week of day shifts.* How beautiful. *He murmered, the light of the day almost hurting his eyes since the glow consumed all of them making them almost sensative, not that his glow could be seen, in the day he looked remarkably.... normal.*
Wish: *Glided low over the trees, prancing a little as she found a clear spot to land and darting under the cover of the trees, sighing as she wanders into the trees. She wasn't usually one for dashing off like she had or sneaking about but between her fathers, her brother and her cousins she was going bananas, there was always someone there, she loved feeling safe and potected but today it had just gotten to her and she was feeling smothered*
Phoenix: *He took a deep breath and lowered his gaze from the rainbow and too.... a mare? At least he thought it was a mare from the build of there body. But their hair was short and they seemed to be wearing what appeared to be.... a rainbow coloured armour plate. Perhaps it was simply a young colt in training? Or maybe even a skinny stallion? It wasn't as if Nix didn't see all kinds of the weird and wonderful on his travels.... he didn't draw attention to his thoughts however, nor did he attempt to move. Friend or foe had to be figured out first, and it was possible that this strange was in a rush and looking for someone or something.... Nix didn't wish to get in the way. Instead he offered a simple word of greeting, one that could be dismissed, ignored or replied in a short and concise manner should they need to rush away from him.* Afternoon.
Wish: Oh! *Jumping, she hadn't seen the stallion, which was amazing as he had fasinating markings, that looked like a bird?? And his hair... She had to stamp down the pang of envy at his glorious hair... * Hello. *offering him her usual warm smile.*
Phoenix: *Smiled softly at the others surprise and simply dipped his head a little, slightly submissive since he didn't wish to cause further alarm or surprise. He noticed the eyes dart over his form, nothing he wasn't used to. In the darkness of the night many looked at him with fear, believing his strange glow was a demon trying to fool them, it wasn't until he spoke and tried to offer aid that they finally relaxed.... of course, not all did. No. On several occassions he had been forced to leave swiftly so as not to cause more harm than good. Strange. His father had a similar glow in the darkness yet he wasn't looked at the same way. Shifting those thoughts aside and locking them in a vault so tight and deep in his mind that he hoped to not see them again.... too much to ask, he knew these thoughts would likely always trouble him. Still, he focused on the now. Something he was good at doing* Hello. It is nice to see a smile. *He admited lightly, though he was sure the strange would see it as nothing more than a compliment or a strange observation.* I hope I am not trespassing. *Territory wars raged in many places, and Nix had no intention of getting involved* I was simply... following my nose. *He said softly, smiling brightly as he lifted hi shead back up to a more natural position.*
Wish: *blinked in surprise and smiles brightly at his words thne looked a little sad.* Do you not see many smiles? Thats sad, I'm sorry. *Stepping closer and smiling again reassuring.* No as far as I know this is an unclaimed area, no one has botherd the herd since they came here.
Phoenix: *He smiled despite himself but held back the chuckle that all but threated to spill forth from his lips. He didn't wish to come across as insulting* No, I tend to see more tears and frowns in my line of work. *A line of work he was strating to want out of. He raised an eyebrow at that and looked around, as the mare, and he was sure it was a mare now -the voice for one, but that walk all but gave her away- came closer.* A herd. So that is what has caused a small disturbance. *He relaxed a little as if a puzzle piece had finally fitted into place. Nodding, more to himself than anything or anyone else he looked over at the mare again.* My name is Nix.
Wish: *beamed at him again, not able to help herself but responding to his smile in turn, looking into his unusual eyes, though she was pretty sure he wasn't blind as he was looking right at her, though there was always a chance. Her purple eyes sparkling as he introduced himself.* Its lovely to meet you Nix, My name is Wish *giving a little bob of a curtsey, prefering that to the bow that most of the others used.*
Phoenix: *As he listened and watched one thought came to his mind... this was a lady. But that brought into question.... why was she wearing armour plating? A strange combination, unless of course it's very purpose was to confuse, in that case it was a perfect addition.* Wish. What a beautiful and unusual name. *He smiled a little wider, unable to stop his mind from wondering if she was the result of a wish her parents had mad, after all he had heard of several soquili who had been given names based on something like that... he himself was named after the pheonix that took over his pelt. His eyes fell to the flower he had been heading to collect and he found himself saying* Do you know... they say this flower has the power to heal a broken heart?
Wish: Thank you. *Smiling at him at his complement then looking from him to the flower, her expression a little sad* If its true, I know someone very special to my family that could use it.... *Or several someones... her mind added, having heard of others that had suffered heart ache. She could only hope that they all found something to help heal them soon. Moving even closer, her eyes on the flower, sighing softly.* Do you think it is true? I mean... Miraculous things can happen, usually when you least expect it.... But a broken heart? I thought time and the unconditional love of another would be the only things that could work such a miricle.
Phoenix: *Looked up at her with the keen intelligence of his shining from his eyes, he knew what she sought. Someone she knew was hurting. Instead of mocking her innocence he looked to the flower* I believe.... that the it means a different kind of break. Not one caused by the deverstation of losing your mate... but conditions that cause the heart to fail... illness and disease. BUT.... *he said, wanting to indulge her a little* Perhaps it has simply never undergone a test?

Wish: *looked up at him and smiled again* I've not studied the ways with the healer Auva seems to be the one that he has taken under his wings tohugh I suppose if I asked him and wished to learn my great great grandfather would teach me. I've yet to find my place, I've not found a calling... *Then again she was so sheltered and protected that she had little chance for real self discovery.* But maybe you are right, who is to say, theres magic all over the place if you look.
Phoenix: *He hadn't meant to pry, hadn't meant to bring that almost sad tone to her voice. Still, he listened to each word and contemplate the meaning behind it. He didn't usually speak much of himself, especially to strangers but he found himself wanting to sooth. The healers code perhaps, or was the simply an excuse he told himself?* I was almost forced into my calling. My father is a healer... and by default.... so shall I. *He laughed, though it was a humourous sound, quite the opposite, his eyes looking up at the sky and the now fading rainbow* Rainbow is gone. *he mumbles to himself*
Wish: *looked up automatically at the mention of the rainbow, the letal clinking softly. Looking back to him.* Are you happy? Quietly curious but aware she had just been rude.* I'm sorry, its rude of me to ask such a personal question... Rainbows are lovely arent thay? *smiling changing the subject, wanting to make him feel happier and not like she had tried to invade his privacy.* My twin brothers is called Ranbow, we just call him beau (bow) though..... Is Nix short for anything? *Yes that seemed a safer question, much less invasive.*
Pheonix: *Blinked in surprise at her question, almost too shocked to answer. /Are you happy?/ The words echoed in his mind, no one had ever really asked him if he was happy before, not even his siblings.... and to be honest, he wasn't sure how to answer. He didn't have to formulate a reply though, since soon it seemed her own question embarassed Wish... not wanting to bring it back up he simply let it go and focused on what she was saying instead. Rainbow, your brother is called Rainbow? *He almost smiled at that.* A unique set of names. With a story I'm sure.... *As she asked of his own name he sent an automatic ripple of movement down his body, it started at his head and extended all the way to his rump and tail.* Phoenix. *He said softly* My full name is Phoenix.
Wish: *Grinned at him, relieved that he had not taken offence at her impentanence, nodding.* Yes a fact that I think he laments but the story of our names is a rather odd and unbelieveable one. *Looking from his face to the markings of his pelt, moving closer as he gave his full name, eyes wide with wonder.* A phoenix, so thats what this is, its very beautiful, its a shame you have no wings as then you could soar like the bird itself. But you are perfect as you are wings arent the be all and end all. *Smiling at him again, her attention on his face again. Feeling somewhat of a misfit next to what if she was honest was a beautiful stallion to look at, but thenif he was mean spirited looks were for nothing, he seemed nice though and she would enjoy that till one of the others tracked her down, it was so very rare to talk to anyone outside.*
Phoenix: *He considered her words.* Unbelievable you say... sounds like my kind of story. *He didn't say that he shone like a star in the darkness, that was often too much for others to hear, and since this conversation had been mostly pleasant he didn't wish to taint it with a topic that might very well tilt the table. He never pried into her story, deciding she would tell her if she wanted to. Watching as she moved to examine his markings he said softly* But I can fly.... wings are not needed for that. *He laughed a little, sure she would consider him crazy for his thoughts* It is simply a very different kind of flying to the one you are refering to. *Nix didn't see his lack of wings as a weakness... no, he saw his lack of horn as one. No one would know just by looking at him that he was half unicorn. Half of a race that was born from purity and goodness.* My mother says that the appearance of a phoenix is said to be good luck, they are often painted on the bodies of brides to be in the hopes of giving her luck in her mating ahead.... *his eyes turned a little sad, but it wasn't transfered to his smile, something he had long ago trained out of himself.* I am not sure if I am considered lucky or cursed to be born with one of this size upon my pelt. *He laughed a little, hoping to dismiss the subject before it fell to serious conversation.*
Wish: *smiled softly at him, wanting to pick the topic up, but she barely knew him, perhaps such thigns made him uncomfortable, she knew that some didn't handle the news of her family circumstances well... Two males could not have children, but there her brother and she stood looking liker their fathers.* Maybe when we know eachother better its a story I'll tell you... Not everyone understands.... Though I can show you where Carlisle..... my great great grandfather... I can show you where he was gathering thigns earlier. I saw him and Auva working so if you are a healer and seeking something you might find it there? *Trying to be helpful, having taken to calling Carlisle by his name or occasionaly GGG... The stallion looked rather faint sometimes when reminded of the fact of his great great grandfather hood.... then again he had nt long discovered her was a great grandfather before taking another step up*
Phoenix: *Nodded softly, hoping to show thanks despite the decline his words were about to speak.* Thank you, but this flower was actually the last ingredient I needed for my healing balm. *Still, he made no move to grab the flower or leave. He was anything but rude.... and there was something else that kept him still. Curiousity. Curse him to hell but he had always been a curious stallion. He blew a whistle at the 'great great grandfather' comment* Long line then. Can't say I know my own beyond my parents. *There was no sadness in his eyes at the 'lack' sometimes small was just as nice as large.* Thank you for your assitance though, it is much appreciated.

Wish: *blushed at her behaviour and his words, shaking her head* I... don't have a mother, I have an aunt... She is an inventor... the only one close to me who is girly is my grandmother... I think she dispairs a little, my hair didn't grow long like her's or my aunts, but I usually hide with her, but she can only do so much... Besides Sometimes she causes more trouble.. *imitating her grandmother presumably.* "Oh Wish, don't worry so, eventually they will stop being so protective, maybe you could meet a nice angeni, or a unicorn, I'm sure you will meet a nice stallion one day... or mare if thats your preference...."
Phoenix: *He listened for a moment and wanted to frown in dispair for her. No wonder her family were so protective of her if her mother was gone.... and from what she was saying it seemed she was the youngest female of this 'herd' she belonged, joined simply by her grandmother and aunt. He could understand the protectiveness... not that he was about to be a fool and tell her such. Instead he said* I like your hair. It brings out your features. *He smiled softly. Some might consider it flirting but in truth it was simply a compliment... well, maybe there was a hint of a flirt, but Nix didn't really know much about flirting. Still, one concept rang too close to home for him.* An angeni or a unicorn....? *Selective breeding perhaps? A way of keeping the strength within the herd? It ruffled him the wrong way, but then agian his lack of any unicorn features had always ruffled Nix. Something else struck him.... wasn't it unusual to state to one so young that it was ok to take a more unusual route? While he had nothing agianst same sex pairings he had never really met one to understand much about them.*
Wish: *Blushed, no one had complemented her hair before really, those that did usually did it in the 'Oh you and your broher have the same hair, how adorable...' Kind of way, shrugging a little at his question tohugh.* I don't think she meant that I should only consider unicorns or angeni's.... After all she is the one that mated to a wind and not another angeni... My aunt mated to a half kalona, hes very nice, and usually quiet... Though untill others got to know him that caused some upset... Or so I've been told.... Unaware of his other thoughts, and he hadn't asked anything about her no mother comment so she didn't know what else to say.*
Pheonix: *He wasn't about to open up what he thought was a 'wound' to her, and so he made no move to comment on her comment about not having a mother* Ah... *he instead said, easing a little that they were not a herd that simply coverted certain breeds for their advancement* I am half unicorn. *He found himself saying before realising what he was saying.* Ah... eh... *he fumbled a little, stepping back out of reflex* I mean.... oh I don't know what I mean. *He blushed lightly and shut up*
Wish: *blushes more, smiling a shy sweet smile at him* Pappa's grandfather is a cursed walker, he inherated his fangs from that line, in the rest he takes after his father supposedly... though his markings and colours are more after his mother... Have you ever seen a gryphon? *looking curious* Daddy is part angeni part wind.... theres other mixed in there but I'm not sure what I've never met my grandfathers, or great grandfathers beyond my grandmothers parents and grandfather... *looking along the path as she speaks, having been rambling a little as she thinks.* This one, if you go the way we are facing it leads through more forest to a river.... the other way is forest and some boggy marshland, at least thats what the scouts told us when we stopped here.
Phoenix: A gryphon? Can't say I have heard of them. *Interest peeked, and no reaction to her relation to a curse SW, his father had always told them never to disguish between those they gave help too, but he had to admit it didn't sit right with him in actually helping a SW to survive, just as it didn't sit right to let them die. A moral battle fought within on that one. As he listened to her description he nodded and got the distinct feeling....* You shouldn't really be telling me about your herd now should you? *looking at her he smiled although his eyes were serious* I promise I won't tell... but.... becareful with whom you share your secrets with Wish. *He didn't mean to come across as protective, knew she had had enough of overbearing and protective men in her life... but he couldn't help it. Then as he replayed her words in his head he realised she had described two fathers... was it simply the replacement for her mother and her true father.... or something.... more? He didn't wish to pry* Rainbow: *He had been looking everywhere for his sister, was sure he had seen her wander off... but their grandmother, and now that he thought about it he was sure she was in on it and acting as a distraction, had begged for his help... how could he refuse?* Wish? *He called, walking towards a slight hill that blocked his view of the other side*

Wish: *blushed and lowered her head and nodded* You're right, though most of them are not in the herd... *Even to her own ears that sounded like an excuse and she looked a little ashamed for making it.* You're right. *Not hearing her brother calling yet, having flown low for a reason, no tracks and not high enough to be noticed.*
Phoenix: Sorry. *He said, a slight sadness falling over his features* I didn't mean to lecture you.... I'm sure you already know waht you should and shouldn't do.... sorry. *his ears flattened on his head, very colt like even to his own mind. Coughing to clear his throat he said softly.* I should probably get back... My father will be waiting for me. *He bowed his head a little to her* A pleasure Wish.
Rainbow: *Was lookig for his sister still, walking slowly and trying to catch any sight of her, a little wiff of her scent told him she had been here recently... at least he thought the degraded scent was Wish...*
Wish: *stood watching Nix leave, so many things she had wanted to persue, but he had semed so sad. She wished that she could do something to make him happy, something in his eyes made her feel that he wasn't. Looking at Bow, sighing and lowering her head, giving in but not saying anything, she loved her family but sometimes it was just too much, she was grown, she hadn't gone far, she hadn't been gone long.... but still.....* I can't make that promise... *she always kept her promises, but that one wasn't one she could make without it chaining her up.*
Rainbow: *He gritted his teeth but understood... reluctantly. Very reluctantly.* Come on.. *he said burying his nose for a nuzzle before turning to her side* Let's get back then before they notice we're gone. And yes.. I will tell them 'we' went together.
Wish: *nuzzles her twin* Don't lie for me bow.... I can face the consequences, I knew what I was doing....
Rainbow: *Still looked at her with concern, when she was hurting he was hurting... and he didn't want to see her get into trouble.* I can't promise that. *He said softly, imitating her earlier words*
Wish: *nodded and gave him another nuzzle before starting to walk away with him, pausing to glance back the way Nix had gone, wishing him safe travels silently before they got fully underway, the identical pair walking along.*
Rainbow: *Watched her and looked down the path to see a stranger* Did they hurt you? *He said possessively, willing to hunt down the stranger and show they exactly what he thought about that idea... even though he knew it was far from rational considering he knew Wish was fine. With a shake of his head he tried to push it aside but instead ended up just looking at Wish in dire need of reassurance.*
Wish: *Shakes her head* No! *Shaking her head more.* I'm not hurt, I'm not insuleted, I had a nice polite conversation with someone thats all....
Rainbow: *watched her and nods, sure it was the truth* Ok then, good. *together they walked back to the herd*
