Mary tossed back her wavy, blood soaked ebony locks as she reviewed her appearance in her omnipresent mirror. She and Hyde had gone their separate ways just a few days before, and she refused to acknowledge that she missed him. He was clearly a God, and she was a Goddess, they would cross paths, time and again, she knew. The immortal and divine were drawn to one another, were they not? Until then, she had her duties to return to, and she had to make sure that her followers saw her in exactly the correct way the first time they encountered her visage. She would have none of her prophets later decrying as false her visitation to any of her children.
So she continued her inspection, determined to see herself, and not Hyde, in the reflective glass. Her stomach felt a bit off, but then, it had for the past few... days? Hours? She wasn't sure. Being immortal did play such havoc with one's sense of time. Frowning, she turned to see it in the mirror, then she frowned more. Was she getting...fat? Impossible! No, that doesn't happen to Gods and Goddesses. They do not get... fat! Like some slovenly mortal too lazy to exercise. No! Not her. She'd not allow it.
Hyde... He was immortal as well, he was a God. He would be able to explain this to her. Maybe it was the next stage of her divine transformation, perhaps. And, if she was getting... shudder.... fat... Well, Running with Hyde had been good exercise, and fun. Well, more then just the running. She could still taste the fear, the excitement, the blood. Oh the terror they raised together. Yes, she should find Hyde and he would explain this, and then, since they were together anyway, they could have a bit of sport... she was certain. She tossed back her hair, checking her reflection once more as Taphos climbed up atop her back. She flicked her tail in minor irritation, but left the small one there. After all, it wasn't like she was primping for a male. Not at all. Just for her children.
That decided, Mary trotted off to find Hyde, her mirror floating alongside her obediently so that she could check her reflection every so often, to ensure she had no grass in her teeth. In case she ran into a child of her... of course.

Hyde opened his eyes and breathed in the almost too-clean air of the valley before him. His roughly tossed his mane, reared and kicked as if trying to shake a tick. He hated losing time. It was like losing opportunities... but at least sometimes it gave him some direction.
Unfortunately, his "better half" seemed to have done nothing productive with his time other than picking around these strange, boring lands. Not a city in sight. Not a real one, at least. He was probably pleased with himself, Hyde thought darkly. Taking them away from everything they knew. He should have been thanking him for solving his problems when he lacked the nerve. He snorted. Now, where was that dopey-eyed cow-beast?
"POOLE!" He shoted. "My hat! My cloak!"
* * *
He set out into the woods, hungry for excitement and wreaking himself upon whatever he might encounter. But after some time chasing small animals and tearing at trees and other wildlife, he grew frustrated, angry... he needed something.
Maaryy~ he thought to himself.
Now where had she gotten off to. Trying to get away from him after their last enocounter, perhaps? He wouldn't have that... oh no.
He looked for something familiar, but all the damn trees seemed to look the same. No landmarks! No signs, no buildings. He swore loudly as he began to pick around, looking for something familiar.
Surely he coudln't have traveled too far from last he'd seen her...

(Never thought of quoting to ensure a notification in an RP, very clever, you.) She tried first the places she thought him likely to be. Towns, villages, cities, settlements near where they had been. Nothing, not a blasted thing. She tried using her Godly powers to track him, because clearly she should have some, yes? A God should be able to track and sense another God, she was sure. So she tried focusing, in the middle of screaming humans. She had thought the sound might call him, so she had trampled a few. But seriously, the way they were carrying on, gibbering and yelling, it's no wonder that she couldn't focus her will, she could hardly think. Then they started attacking her. That had almost turned into fun, but she didn't have time to play, so she fought her way free, threw one that tried to climb upon her into a tree then continued off, not realizing she was heading right towards Hyde.
Once she was clear of the noise and the distractions, Mary decided to try her Divine powers once more to find him. She picked up a twig in her mouth and flung it in the air with a toss of her head. It pointed back the way she came, no, the other end pointed ahead, so clearly he was ahead! Her powers were working.
And as so often happens with people who ignore the failures they refuse to see, the success served only to prove to her that her powers did in fact work. She heard his swearing, that unmistakable, undeniable voice. That voice that seemed to proclaim with every sound that a Dark Ancient God was passing through. A quick toss of her hair, where she pretended she didn't check her reflection in the mirror, and certainly she removed that leaf from her tail because it irritated her, not from any care how she appeared, then she pushed through the trees to where he was. She nodded once to him, regally, God to God, as was his due, though her heart beat had sped up and she was gushing a bit more blood than usual. She had forgotten how good he smelled, how being in his presence made her feel. Yes, he would know what was happening to her, and they would face it, together.

And suddenly, there she was. "There you are, princess," He crooned, an ear flicking back and his characteristic smile that was more venom than honey spread across his face.
He strode up to her, his eyes locked on hers in a strange balance between affection and malice. "Tried to get away from Hyde did you, now? And after we had so much fun."
Truth be told, Hyde wasn't used to his affections being returned - especially after his sometimes forceful way of expressing them.
Bardess Ookami Hee hee - no problem X3. Someone I was RP'ng with did it and I thought the same thing XD.

She smirked at him, tossing back her hair, and intentionally exposing enough of her throat to tempt, without dropping her guard. He might be a god as well, but that was still no reason to act over eager. Especially given her duties to her children.
"Odd," She said with a delighted laugh that brought to mind banshees wailing over graves, "I thought it was you who ran from me," she said, trying to smirk again, but a hint of a genuine smile threatened to interfere. He was ever so much fun, and now that she was in his presence again, could smell the old blood scent of him, could see his vicious venomous smile, something felt... right. Like she wanted to go trample something from sheer joy. Preferably something that might scream....

In a flash, he nipped at her neck, applying enough pressure to pinch just a bit, to make her cringe, but not enough to pierce the skin. That show of control, that power he felt he had over her, it was intoxicating. Especially for a mare as wild-spirited as she.
"Hyde never runs," He almost growled. "Hyde chases."
Hyde could feel the desire in this mare's chest, hear her racing pulse, her eagerness to embrace the chaos and madness that was Hyde's very being. He never needed encouragement, but he would certainly not pass it by.
"I had some... business to attend to," he spat with bile and bitterness. Even now, he wasn't completely unshackled. Not yet at least. But he would not admit that. He wouldn't dwell on that during HIS time. "But business is over; time to play!"
He had not yet noticed the swell in Mary's sides, too focused was he on her bare throat, on the scent of blood in her fur, and the demented look that matched his own in her eyes.

(May I put the image of them from your sig into mine, btw?) She lowered her head, hard and fast, to clock his skull with her jaw, if he did not release. He had some control, but not all. She too was a God, and a dark one, as was he. But his scent so close was intoxicating. Her grin was savage and feral. Hyde chases, did he? Was he fast enough to chase her? Of course, she wouldn't really be trying all that hard to flee, just fast enough to play. But... wouldn't it be so much more fun to chase something with him? Side by side? Who could catch it first? Oh, not kill it, not on the first blow. It could be a game, injure it a bit with each tag, see how long it can go, who can tag it the most times.
Business? Well, she understood that, not all Gods cared for their followers, their children as she did, and even when they cared, sometimes a child had to be.... disciplined. Or removed from the fold. It was distasteful but needful. She did understand. So he wanted to play, to banish that feeling, that bitterness, she could appease.
"Then let us find some poor thing to chase, make it realize what terror truly is, fill our noses until we are glutted on it's fear, and then...then the fun can truly begin," she whispered, close to his ear, before nipping at it, in her own show of power and control. Her own game.
And her belly? The oddness? Forgotten in the moment, overwhelmed by the nearness of him.

With a snarl, Hyde reared back after Mary clocked him, catching a lock of her hair in his teeth and jerking it back quickly. Once more, enough to hurt, but not to pull it from her head. "I can play this game," He crooned savagely. He was ambiguous as to whether he was referring to their own game of dominance and control... or the one she proposed in directing that feeling of power onto something else.
Both sounded equally sweet to Hyde's ears.
After she nipped his ear, his eyes flashed with eagerness as he set off after her.
"True Bliss," He shouted to the world and to Mary. "I like the way you think, my dear." he set off at a run, overtaking her and charging, blindly and wildly - eager to see what fate brought them to share their madness with.
Of course you can! 8D Glad ya like it. If you're curious, the lyrics are from this song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hr7mu5RUNyk Sorry for the double-quote last time - I had to edit my post XD.

(I know very well that song. It was the theme song a former friend and I used for one of our rps, and I have loved it since before then as well. I knew a girl in High School who did the duet, alone, for our Talent Show one year. I've been on again off again obsessed with it ever since. I have it on at this moment, in fact.) She laughed and reared as he ran along side, and she pushed, legs pumping, racing with him. She dropped back to all fours, the odd bulge in her belly brushing his flank, where normally she'd have cleared, and the lurch of her hooves on the ground caused an unexpected sensation in her stomach. She stumpled, thrown off stride. That had never happened before! At least, not since she had become immortal! She tried to recover, without loosing speed, without loosing him, but something had spurred her into a panic and she couldn't focus on where she was planting her hooves. She caught one in the roots of a tree, stumbled, and crashed into him.

With another swear, Hyde tried to side-step the mare that came barreling into his side unexpectedly.
"Were your legs replaced with cinderblocks?!" He snapped angrily as she collided with him. He tried to bolster himself, but she was surprisingly heavier than he expected, sending him slamming into the side of a tree. Fortunately for Mary, Hyde made a passable buffer for her.
With a buck and a shake, however, he quickly extricated himself from where he was nearly pinned.
"What the hell is the matter with you?!" He snapped angrily before his eyes lit on the swell of her stomach and the words fled from his mouth, his eyes widening to nearly the size of saucers.
As much as Hyde disdained his memories from before he was born into this world as a separate entity, it supplied him with necessary information, and often motivation. But Jekyll was quite familiar with various maladies and circumstances that required his medical expertise.
He knew a pregnant mare when he saw one.
And his mind went to the complete wrong direction. "And just who in the hell did that to you? Finding yourself drawn to the attention of another?! Think you can hide it from HYDE?!" He snapped, immediately feeling possessive, like a toy had been borrowed without his permission.
Hah! That's a cool coincidence. I luuuurbe the Jekyll & Hyde music XD heart

(Posting from iPad as computer is an hour away or more by bus and I was somehow talked into not going to get it. Two hours of sleep between shifts had something to do with that.)
She fell against him, feeling his warm side as a cushion. When he pulled free, she regained her feet carefully, breathing hard, her sides heaving both from within and without. At least, that was how it felt.
His words, at first, passed over her as her stomach did some interesting acrobatics that distracted her from the candaces of his voice that usually thrilled her so. Her body finally settled out just as his eyes widdened, she turned to face him, confused. What could make a God look like THAT???
Her mirror swung around behind Hyde, as he exploded, letting her see herself over his shoulder, though it was hardly her usual angle. She saw the swell of her stomach, and recalled why she had saught him out, when his words hit her like slaps on the flank.
The first question hit, and stunned her. Who had done this to her? Had this been some sort of an attack, then? But who could have? Another God? That odd one that child had been on and on about? Why? What manner of attack was it?
Then her mind caught up with the rest of his questions and She stared at him, confused. At some point he had ceased to make sense, and she had no clue why. One way to find out. Oh, she'd never admit ignorance to a child, to a mortal, but like her, he was a God. "What attention?" She asked, then her temper flared as his tone caught up with her. She turned to kicked at his flank with a rear hoof, then darted away a few steps, enough to turn and be out of reach of his teeth. Another God or not, No one, NO ONE, not even him, spoke to her that way. Her eyes narrowed. "I dom't know what the grave you think you are on about, you fool male," she hissed at him, ears laying flat. "But beleive this, if I had done something to get this reaction, I sure as maggots wouldn't try and hide it, I'd flaunt it," she proclaimed with a toss of her hair, throwing it back, magestically, blood flicking off of the ends to speckle him, and a streak of it crossing her brow making her look battle wounded, and in her reflection she thought it was rather magestic looking. "So you are going to stop screaming at me like I am some eering mortal child, and treat me as the God I am, as your equal," she snapped. This was less fun than they usually had.
(I blaime her oocness, and her not sounding as much like the Mary we know and ....love... Lets go with that.... On her hormones. Nothing to do with my exhaustion or the ipad. Nope, not at all. Not one bit. Oh, wait, that sort of self denial is the hallmark of Pach'ua, not Mary, my bad, lol)

Hyde didn't stand for an attack, not even from a mare, or a gravid one. He snapped back, kicking and flailing at her. He snorted, furious, his voice quavering with dangerous rage at her outburst. ONly one thing held him back from setting on her, from striking her down and trampling her under his hooves... or perhaps sinking his teeth into her jugular.... or..
He shook his head, clearing it, staring at her stomach.
What if it were his?
"You may not be the weak mares or even stallions that I have run across, or the screaming two-legs. You may keep up with me as I run free through the woods or streets or wherever these hooves drive my vengeance, and you may have the devil himself on your back spurring you on by my side...
But you are a fool if you do not know these signs." He laughed outright, both mocking and menacing.
"Unless you have taken to swallowing whole packs of small animal, then you are brimming with new life, princess. Foals." He tossed his mane again, smirking.
"Now tell me, Mary mary.... have you passed the time with other stallions...?" Now... there was an edge to his voice.
Sorry for the delay - been busy IRL and trying to recapture my muse

(It's fine. I totally get it.) She tossed back her hair, and opened her mouth to protest. She had no one, tolerated no one, not even the devil himself to ride her. How dare Hyde suggest she were so week a thing to permit that. Then to call her a fool besides? Fury welled up in her, rage bubbling through her veins, then she heard, truly heard, his other words.
New... life? Her... but... that would mean....
"Uh... no... that... doesn't happen to Gods....?" It was meant to be a statement, it came out as a question, and confusion replaced fury in her eyes. His question caught up to her brain and sparked a small bit of temper, enough for her to respond, even if her mind was still mostly elsewhere.
"Other than as prey, what use have I for mere stallions?" she asked with a dismissive snort. "You are the only other god I have yet met, and the only others worthy of my tome are my children and my disciples, do not insult me so."
But, most of her mind was still on what he had said. She turned to face him. "I died, became a dark goddess, became immortal. How could I possibly have...foals?"

She was radiant when she was furious. Irregardless of his health, his characteristic smile stretched his face a his eyes grabbed her. Even in her state she boiled forth with a primal fury that Hyde had seen in no other - man or soquili alike.
He snorted at her profession of deity. She was quite mad... but the world was mad. And in that chaotic mess of life and ups and downs, she made sens to him. After all, they were all mad, weren't they? Just some had the clarity to recognize it... to embrace it! To cast aside any hypocrisy and expectations and just LIVE!
But if she had been with no other.... that meant...
It came as a shock to Hyde. Perhaps it shouldn't have - after all, everything BREEDS. But the thought of producing foals... it was never a thought that had entered his mind before. His? Or... his? He sneered. Would these foals run rampant with his wild, free blood, or be bonded to the meek, pitiful Jekyll whose body this was originally? Could he affect foals - could his blood touch them? It was him who took Mary, after all... it would be... interesting.
"Who are we to question the madness of this world? You and I... producing more like us? Surely, some dark force has called for this, do you not think, Princess?" He hissed, striding forward confidently... possessively. Oh, he wouldn't let her out of his sight. Not now. Not until he had his hooves on what was HIS by RIGHT! By Blood!
He would see whose foals they were - his or Jekyll's. He felt a stirring in the back of his mind, but shook his head violently, stamping his feet. No. Not now. He had much to do.

Her eyes shone with his words, new energy filling them, she tossed back her head and gave a cry of pure delight, the sound at the beginning of the hunt. A sound to send terror own the spines of lesser creatures.
"Ours, then," she said, a possessive pride, a need filling her. "Ours to raise and teach and lead down our path. Ours to spread our words and teachings. Ours to run with. "Ours." She snapped at his neck. She said ours, and she meant ours, but she also meant hers. If she had to bear this, she would be in charge.
