Cordero had once more wandered away from his mother, Mys'ketay, as they wandered through the rogue lands searching for the swampies where his mother supposedly had a close friend that lived there. Something told him it wasn't just a friend his mother was going to meet but he kept quiet as he loved the look his mother had. She looked happy. And without her telling him, he knew from the way she walked, talked and looked that she hadn't had to many happy days in her life up until now. It was like she radiated pure joy. However, the more they wandered the more he began to feel like he didn't want to go to this pride he knew nothing about. He figured it might have something to do with the rampaging hormones his body was having but he couldn't be sure. There was of course no male figure in his life, except his litter brother, but it wasn't like he was going to know any better. Sometimes he wondered who his father was or why he wasn't in their lives. He felt his chest tighten and decided to let it go. "Keep it out of your mind." Cordero told himself as he stopped in front of a large watering hole to get a drink and rest.
When he had his fill, he laid down on the hot dirt and flicked his brown tail. "What to do..." Cordero lowered his head onto his paws and searched the Savannah for any signs of life. Well, apart from the food that was unaware that he was here. Maybe today he would see some kind of adventure. He stretched out his paws, letting his claws come out. One good point about growing up was that he could actually control them and use them. Maybe he would get himself something to eat soon too. "I can wait a bit. Not starving yet." He said to himself. then again he could always just wander back to his mother and have her hunt for him if he was desperate enough. But he would have to be extremely desperate for that to happen. Ever since he learned how to hunt he tried his best to hunt for him and his mother, and his siblings if they needed. Cordero felt responsible for the families well being.

Pen had walked away from Yuuki, her chetah companion, letting him rest in their makeshift den and rest up his wounds - which were caused by a friendly duel that he had pushed himself too far in. Yuuki was really ridiculous, Penwakani thought and that was why she had decided to repay his earlier kindness towards her by hunting for their dinner, as he was too sore to do it himself.
Which was how she ended up chasing an antelope.
An antelope which was going full speed towards the watering hole.
Which Penwakani had not noticed, but the antelope had. The prey beast kept up it's speed until the last moment, twisting sharply to change directions. As a larger creature, Pen could not change her direction that quickly, and could only squeak as she barrelled off the edge of the slight incline near the watering hole, and directly into the water.
She hit the surface with a large crash, and broke the surface not seconds later with a loud yowl of displeasure.
Damn it! Now she was wet and without food. Yuuki was never going to let her hear the end of it.
