Luthias regretted leaving Lucinda alone so suddenly. But his wound was rather distracting and created a fiery burning pain in his tail. He was going to get this over with quickly so he could get back to her. because her rather enjoyed her company. Her blindness was unique in the way that she could not judge him the way others did. His appearance could not frighten her, and it gave him a chance to open up.
A spike of pain ignited up and through his spine. His body quivered and he beat his wings harder despite their ache. The smell of sage and vanilla were obvious now and he flew lower and circled a bit. Through the trees he saw a glimpse of a structure, and it was a sorry excuse for a structure. Baba forbade anyone to land in her territory, so he grounded himself close by. As he strode up to the hut, he encountered a barrier.
Bones, skulls, and spikes lined her territory. They glowed eerily and something in his head told him that it was not wise to simply cross them. Luthias began to follow them, hoping to find an entrance. He was walking quickly, and his agitation was obvious. The fire in his tail was burning with a passion, he had no Idea the bite of a water snake could be so painful.
After a while of circling, he did not find an entrance. The glowing skulls gazed at him, as if to mock him with their eerie silence. His body shook with anger.
"Baba Yaga!" he shouted in his loudest most booming voice. The forest was deathly silent. "I have had enough of your games, let me in!"
As if to respond, the strange glow around the bones dissipated, and invited him in. Luthias passed over the bones and made his first steps into Baba's territory. The air was thick with incense, and a mist of smog and smoke rolled about the area.

Baba watched Luthias writhe as he circled her domain. His pain gave her some amusement. She was perched on top of her hut when he approached. She rose to her feet and sized him up. He was quite tall, but a little thin. And his talons were smaller than hers, perhaps because he spent most of his time in the air, where as Baba hardly ever left the ground. She gripped the splintering wood of her hut with her big-ole-chicken feet. As he got closer, she said to him, "You don't need to yell, I have been watching you for quite some time. Besides it's awfully rude to yell at an elegant lady." She held her chin high as she looked down at him.
She was right it would be rude to yell at a lady, but this hag was not one. "You are neither elegant, nor a lady." he replied rudely. "I require the assistance of the wise old hag, when she is done flattering herself tell her to come down so that I may work out a trade so I can be on my way."

Baba leaped from her perch and made a loud thud when her feet hit the ground. She landed just in front of Luthias, she leaned in and cocked her head a little to the side. "Yes, this old hag does love to trade."
Her sudden closeness was enough to make Luthias uncomfortable and he took a step back.
"I suppose you need my services for that festering wound on your tail?" she took a step around to look more closely at it. "Yep that is a nasty venom, we will have to cut it off." she said nonchalantly.
Luthias felt his heart jump into his throat. "W-What?! You can't be serious, there must be another way!" He pleaded.
Baba smirked at his panic. "Oh yes, there is another way. But it will take longer to heal, and you will have to keep it very clean or else it will fester and rot, and when that happens the black rot in your blood with move to your heart and you will die." Baba had a way of making things sound morose. She could see in his eyes that he was pondering the consequences.
Before he told her his decision she turned back to her hut to gather supplies. When she returned, she laid out a clay jug, two unlabeled bottles, a mortar and pestle, and a mixed bundle of herbs. She dropped them into the mortar and began grinding them up. As she turned and crushed the leaves, she looked up at Luthias, "Lay that tail on this rock here." The rock was mostly flat and smooth on the top, and she watched him gingerly lay the wounded part of his tail in the middle of it.

He just watched quietly as she mashed up the herbs. He wasn't sure what they were, but they smelt awful.
Baba reached for one of the jug and poured its water onto the tail.
Luthias winced, and he could feel it his tail throb.
And without warning dumped the contents of one of the bottles on the wound. The flesh began to fizz and bubble. Luthias jumped flailed his tail, but Baba clamped his tail down to the rock with her vice like talons. She then dumped the other bottle onto it, it washed away the fizzing but another burning sensation kicked in. Luthias let out a shout. Before he could even finish screaming, Baba swiftly slipped in and chomped off a small bit of flesh from the end of his tail with her iron toothed maw. (like maybe an inch of it, not even)
Luthias howled and hissed at her, "Mare, what on earth did you do to me?!" He looked back at her, teeth bared and eyes in a craze.
She glared at im and spoke gruffly, "I am cleaning it you fool, and that last bit was your toll." that little bit of "dragons tail" would be more than enough for her potions, and more than paid for her services. she applied the herbal paste to the wound and dressed in clean linen.
Baba handed him a leather pouch with supplies for his wound. and she gave him some advice before he left her services. "Keep it clean, apply that paste every time you change the dressing, and change it everyday until it heals. If you run out of supplies, come see me. If it starts to look worse, come see me, and if you feel a sharp pain in your chest see me immediately. Oh, and keep the flying to a minimum."
It took him a moment to register all of it, then he asked, "Why would I need to see you if I have a pain in my chest?"
"Because if you don't, that means your heart will be full of black rot, and when that happens, I dont want to go looking for you. So come to me before you die so I can prepare your burial."
Well.. That was humbling, and terrifying to think about. Luthias simply nodded and left. He flew back to the spot where he had met Lucinda, but she was not there. His heart sank a little, perhaps she found another stallion for company. Because his company apparently wasn't worth waiting around for.
He flew home, and did not bring any treasures with him. Only his wounded tail and heart.
