001. New Beginnings

First Day at a New School

Were is Mrs.Hulsman's class at? How am I going to get through 4th grade at a new school if I cant even find my own classroom? And I still have to get Kaitlyn to her class. Ugh. I'm screwed.
"Excuse me ma'm do you know where Mrs.Adams classroom is I need to drop my sister of in her class she's in 3rd grade." I asked.
"Oh Sweetie are you new to Bullfrog Bend Elementary?" asked the Lady.
"Yes," I replied.
"Ok then well first of all you do not go straight to your teachers in the morning. You can either eat breakfast in the cafeteria and then wait in your grade's pod." "What's a pod?" I interupted. "A pod is what we call your grade's place where you wait to be dissmissed into your classroom. Anyways you can also wait outside the library till the school store opens on Tuesday and Thursday. The 3rd grader's pod where your little sister is to the left it goen in grade order first kindergarden, then first and second, and then it's 3rd." answered the lady.
"Thank you ma'm!" I told her as I walked Kaitlyn to the 3rd grade pod.
I just stepped into the 4th grade pod and everyone was staring at me. Oh boy this isn't good. Why do they have to stare at me? So i just quietly sat down knowing this was going to be a very long day. A bell rang and all of the teachers are bringing their students into their classroom. Mrs. Hulsman said we have nametags on our desks so I walked around and found my seat. Then the assistant principle went onto the PA system and we all said the Pledge of Allegiance of America and Texas then we had the moment of silence. After all that was over with they welcomed us back to school and told us the annnouncements.
"Hello everyone I'm Mrs. Hulsman, now unlike everyone else in 4th grade we will not have a switching period were you would go in to meet your second teacher because I am your only teacher so you will be with me. I can be very nice but if you are a trouble maker I will not be nice so behave." With this I knew she wouldn't be the nicest teacher at all,"Now all of you get everything you need out of your backpacks then put them in the cabnet you will get them back at the end of the day."This day is not going to be fun at all.

002. Cause/Effect

Where in the World is My Periodic Table?

The periodic table, I remember that horrible project, it was the most work I put into a project that entire first semester of 6th grade. You see we were given a packet with our periodic table we used in class, the instructions on how we were to color it, what we were to label on it, and how to separate the metal elements from the gases and all. Well stupid me just threw my science spiral into my locker and headed to lunch because I skipped breakfast that day and I was very hungry and had to buy lunch, so I didn't check to make sure nothing fell out of my spiral and sure enough the one time I wasn't careful that packet fell out but I didn't know till I got home for the weekend when I took out my science spiral to work on it... DUN DUN DUN! IT WAS GONE! I swear I looked everywhere for that packet but it was gone. I then asked my dad if I could us one of his computers to find the copy of the periodic table we used in class. I looked so hard but I just couldn't find it so I had to print out a blank one and use one sheet I had as an example of how the boxes in the table were organized and rewrote the entire table! When I was done I called my mom to ask her to give me my friend's phone number because she was in my science class. I called her and she said to come over and I could use hers to color mine the correct way. I'm done! Thank God I finished. The next day we went to school again and I went to my locker to put my backpack up and I saw something tucked in the back of my locker so I pulled it out and guess what? Guess what it was yet? No? My missing periodic table! I was so mad I almost screamed but luckily I didn't and both of my parents when I told them laughed at me because they were still a little mad at me for losing it but they were surprised I was willing to do all the work instead of just get a zap form and re do it with a new class version of the periodic table on Monday and just lose 10 points for having it a day late like most other students would do but i really didn't want a zap so I took the hard way. When I handed it to my science teacher he asked me why it was different from everyone else's and I explained. After hearing the story he was proud of me still doing the work considering like 3 guys in my class lost it , and didn't do it and just took the zaps, but you know the grade I got? Instead of a 100 I got a 92, a 92! All the hard work I put in and worked the entire day on that stupid thing I got 8 points off for not writing one stupid thing that didn't matter! I was so mad I was lucky I was able to control myself. I learned to always be careful and don't be lazy because even if you redo the entire thing and only miss one thing and deserve a 100 for all the work you did and time you put in it you will only get a 92 for missing one pointless thing! So always be careful with stuff or it'll bite you in the but.

003. Peace of Mind

"MOM! I'm not doing any stupid yoga! I have get peace of mind in my own way! Rockin' out to music and dancin!" I told her.
"Fine. But you will regret it when you get old and have a body full of wrinkles and crinkles and crows feet because of all the stress you have!" she replied.
Whatever she can do that stupid stretching I'm not getting my ligaments ripped by stretching them out. I don't care about that beauty stuff no point it's a waste of time I would rather dance.
Three weeks later:"Ok girls lets do the 8 count sequence. 1, 2. 3, 4. 5, 6. 7, 8. Again!" The dance teacher instructed,"Jess! Come here! What were you doing out there? Dancing or trying to be some scare crow on a windy day! You are way too stressed to dance this you need to establish peace of mind by using yoga for 2 weeks every other day and if you don't go every single day and actually work you are out of this dance school."She threatened.
"No.I'm not doing yoga and I will not stand you trying to tell me I have to do yoga to be a good dancer. Oh and you are way overpriced how did you stay in business this long? Oh well I'm not paying your prices anymore. And I will get peace of mind dancing on my own because you give me the most stress of anything being so rude and mean to me and most likely every other girl here! So when I walk out that door I will had attained peace of mind. Bye coach,"I announced as I left.
"We're leaving too!" all the other girls shouted,"Jess! Wait we all just quit too!She was so mean and rude we all hated her. Let's start our own dance team and Jess will be the leader! You are the best of all of us and you gave us the inspiration and reason for this team so lets do it!" they exclaimed.
In the end they're team won every match and won national championships and did it by all by working together and achieving peace of mind. In fact they're old teacher always watched they're performances and progress and when she got a new dance school working she used that very team of girls to inspire her new students determined not to make the same mistakes and to just make dancing fun so it could be a way to achieve peace of mind for all her students who ended up being great dancers.

PS: This story is completely made up.

004. Childhood Memories

Everyone has child memories good, bad, and both. I think if you use those memories to guide you in life you will be more careful and cautious because you remember the consequences good or bad. They can also be what you base your values on or how you make decisions. Child memories can be a privilege and a curse because it's easier to remember the bad ones because they scar you while good ones are like a cloud of cotton candy as a bed. You get relaxed and the comfort reminds your brain how too sort out memories that will be helpful in your life now or in 90 years but whatever memories you remember never forget them because you have it saved for a reason.

005. Speed

"Hey Racers, ready, set, go!" the man announced as there was a loud boom coming from the racetrack. It was me in my race car. Me, the youngster, rookie, Speed. I will prove I am just as good at racing as the guys or maybe even better.
I made my decision to race a long time ago, infact it happened on my 13th birthday when my cousin Jessa took me four wheeling in the woods. We went all over the place, and it was amazing! I couldn't believe it how something seemingly exactly same as driving on a highway could be so different but she proved me wrong! When I turned the key and lighted the ignition I ignited the racing spark in my heart until my life was racing and I love it! Have you ever felt your heart beating like its going to explode because your so happy to do something? Ever had a boyfriend or girlfriend you loved with all your heart? Ever had those feelings? I have never been in love with any person or thing like I am with racing, my first true love. As I get in my race car I breathe in the smells of gasoline and nitrous and whatever has happened in my life good or bad it all fades away letting me relaks my mind so I can win 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place in any competition.
I will never give up until people recognize me as a real racer because females deserve to race too! I will always keep improving. I will never stop, I'm Speed!

006. Mayhem

Have you ever caused mayhem? I have. One time ,when I was a baby, me, my mom, and dad went to church one Sunday and this was the first time since I was born ,except when I was baptized, so my mom went into the service room while my dad dropped me off at the daycare service in the church.
"Do not let her out of your sight or she will escape," notice my dad said will escape not could or might,"you need to be very very watchful."
"Don't worry I've handled a lot of babies before she can't leave unless I let her go with you." the daycare lady told him thinking he was just being a worried parent.
Not 15 minutes later my dad's friend ,who was sitting next to him by a windoow asked,"Hey Jon, isn't that Jessica running towards the highway?" When my dad saw me he immediately got up and was running as fast as he could out of the church to catch me before I got hit by a car. My dad caught me and scooped me up and while his friend was explaining why dad ran out of the church screaming out of my way and move my dad walked us over to the daycare lady's room and when the daycare lady saw me she was so confused she could barely get a word out as my dad asked sarcastically,"There is no possible way she could get out of your sight? Why was she about to run onto the highway then?" As my dad said this she could not stop apologizing for how careless she was and was astonished how quickly I got out and how she never even noticed I was missing.
This was not the only time I caused this type of mayhem in fact it happened practically every day until I was old enough to know not to do things like this anymore. Lets just say I was the mayhem starting escape artist.

007. Gilding a Lily

Ever spent so much time perfecting something over and over again? I have I always do on any and everything. It can be very annoying and tedious. I am always asking my mom on projects if it follows the rubric or if its good or not. When you "guild a lily" you usually don't need to perfect it anymore you are just overdoing it and you shouldn't waste time perfecting perfection. Now I will admit when I found the prompt I had to go search on google what it was but it makes sense. I have figure out people do this because they're gonna be scared it'll be terrible and they put themselves down for it saying they're thing is terrible, stupid, worthless, and just plain wrong. Just because people don't believe in they're own stuff doesn't mean its terrible. You need to take a closer look if this is what you thing like because trust me no one is as terrible as they think they are, no matter what. I hope everyone including me, who needs to stop perfection or gilding the lily on everything will learn to evaluate they're projects so we can stop.

008. First Romance

How old is old enough to love someone? How many boyfriends/girlfriends have you had? How many times have you been kissed? How many times have you kissed someone? When was your first kiss? How was it? Who was it? Who do you like? Who have you ever liked? How many people have you had a crush on? These and many more questions are asked by lots of people well my answers are simple. I've never had a boyfriend, I never really crushed on people, I don't know how old you have to be to be capable of loving someone, never been kissed, never kissed anyone, don't "like" anyone right now and don't know if I ever have, I am not crushing on anyone right now and don't think I ever have. So I'm not really qualified to answer this prompt with a true story but I know I am willing to wait until I find someone who I really love not just a crush and if that makes me a weirdo I'm perfectly fine with that. If it means my first kiss being on my wedding day I don't care. Now granted I know that mostly won't be that long. Even if it is it would be worth it not using anyone to have a status or whatever and I'd have no regrets. So if my very first romance is my true love I'm willing to wait. No I won't date until after college unless it is with someone I love and I'm very ok with that and if I'm called a prude I don't care because I would rather be called a prude than a slut even if they were just rumors. No I'm not a girl who thinks everyone should wait till they are married but I'm also not the girl who thinks people should be dating in elementary school.

009. Orchards

I love granny smith apples. What's your favorite apple? Do you even like apples? Well if I could have an orchard of any kind it would be a grannysmith apple orchard because I could have an abundance of apples right in my backyard that I could use for whatever I wanted! Pies, custard, juice, maybe i could make wine or beer out of them when i'm older, I could I've them out too homeless, hungry, and well anyone and everyone, or I could sell them! So many possibilities its hard to imagine them all. Even if it's just one or two trees or 1 or 2 million I don't know. How many trees does it take to be an orchard anyway? That would be interesting to find out wouldn't it? I would also have orange and tangelo trees and banana trees and maybe coconut trees and pineapple trees. Wait, do pineapples grow on trees? I'll have to find out. I could call my orchard The Orchard of Freedom because no matter what's going on you can escape from it in my orchards! Wouldn't that be interesting? I could have restraints in it and maybe a zip line in it and rides like an amusement park! That would be awesome. Who knows maybe I'll create it maybe I won't but hey it's a fun idea, and that's what matters!

In quite a few of the prompts i have no experience or thought of and some i just don't feel comfortable writing a story about true or make believe so i am officially resigning from the contest of writing everyday for a year until i have more input on the prompts and when life isn't so busy and hectic but i will still write occasionally i am very sorry i wasted your time in this forum but in my defense when i started this I would have been able to finish this but sadly things change and mess up so i will no longer be participating in the actual race but will still use this problem but if this is a problem please post a message in here and i will move my writings and you can delete this thread.
