Dear Journal, I have always found teh city to be really quite dreadful. No one cares in the city. Everyone is too busy to even consider the thought of caring for someone else in teh city limits. Maybe it is just me that feels this way. Four years of Cambridge University. I still don't quite believe it. I hav paid my debt to the crooked school system of England and now...well, now I get to return back to my home out in teh country. I will finally take over my family's business and become teh right-hand of my father. Soon teh estate will be mine, and I will own it all. It is hard to think about relaly. I'm finally in that place where society supposedly claims me to be adept and mature. I will marry and continue my prehistoric family name. I am curious about just one thing, though... It was easy to leave my father and home behind for scholarly learning. It was easy to leae Elizabeth behind. She is almost a possession like teh horses or family fortune. But Sebastian... He was my closest companion. Leaving him...it hurt honestly worse than I think I am willing to admit. We were so close. Now he has probably grown so much without me. When I left he had just been offer a position as butler. before he was just a servant/stable boy. If he hadn't written me over the years, I honestly don't think I would even know he still worked at the estate. The last letter seemed so long ago. Maybe eight months? I wrote him back diligently, of course, but with the slow postal service to the country there is no certain way of knowing if he ever wrote me back or not. Going back there now...seeing him...it will almost be like seeing a ghost, I think. Though, truthfully, seeing the old estate will be truly the astonishing thing. The place must have changed in the four years absense. The people there...they must have changed without me. Not to my disappointment. I can't wait to show all of them the respectable man I have become. Or, at least, I will get to show them that I have grown in height. No, I'm no giant like Sebastian (Hopefully he didn't grow too much.) was, but I am quite taller I believe. I think the reunion will be quite the interesting surprise. Sincerely, Ciel Phantomhive

Sebastion--the epitomy of tall, dark and handsome--stepped into Master Phantomhive's office. "Yes, Master? You called for me?" he said properly, standing tall with his back straight. Twenty minutes later, he was back in his room--the Head of Service quarters--burying his face in his pillow to muffle his squeal of happiness. Ciel was coming back home! His best friend was coming hom again after so long, and he was so excited. He sat up and straightened himself out again. Ciel hadn't written him in forever, though he had written him back the last letter he got...a few months ago. He sighed softly, looking down at himself. He was now head of the staff in the manor, and answered directly to Master Phantomhive himself. He had grown quite a few inches as well. Ciel was sure to be good and pissed off at him because of it. He smiled at that. Especially since he was just informed that he would soon be answering straight to Ciel himself. He wondered to himself how much Ciel had grown...as a person and in height. He reckoned he grew quite a bit, or he hoped so. "Oh, s**t," he mumbled, hopping up and rushing off quick as lightening to retrieve his Master's tea, thoughts of Ciel and that smile not leaving him once.

Master Phantomhive sighed softly as he sent Sebastian out of his quarters. There was a growing silent creeping into the room… It was a very humbling feeling knowing that he was going to die. He had known for months. Unfortunately, now it didn’t seem that Ciel wasn’t even going to get to find out until he got here. He had also hoped that Ciel would get to see him one last time… but that too was looking grim. No word had come from the younger Phantomhive, and with no idea of whether his school had let out or not, there was no way of knowing this far out in the country. Of course, without making the two day journey that he, personally, could not in his condition. The older man stood from his chair with a raspy grip on the counter of his desk. It seemed that standing was not a good option for him at the moment.
He turned to reach for the call lever to alert Sebastian, but he slipped and fell onto the floor. There was a small commotion as his arms slipped off the desk knocking several things off. He could feel himself start to get worse as his chest started to sting with pain. He reach around pulling to him quickly a pen and piece of paper. In a shaky handwritten, the man scribbled down where to find his will and last testament in the study. After writing the note, he looked up to the pile of things around him for a moment in a dwindling weakness. There was a broken picture frame lying about a foot away from him. With his last bit of strength, Master Phantomhive reached to the picture he fondly loved and pulled the broken glass and all to him. “I’m coming my love.” He whispered as he stared at the picture of Ciel’s mother and his beloved wife. Finally feeling done, he let his eyes drift closed and died peacefully.
By the time, Sebastian returned with the tea. Master Phantomhive was long gone into the afterlife.

"I apologize, Master Phantomhive, I got a bit distrac--" The tray and cup hit the floor, shattering as Sebastian was down beside the man in an instant. "Master Phantomhive!" he cried out, checking his pulse. He sat back on his heels in disbelief after searching for a pulse and breath...and he found none. Silent tears rolled down his cheeks. This man was not only his Master, but he was basically his father as well... He raised him, gave him a place he always felt welcome, gave him a job, trusted him, praised him... He felt his breath choke in his throat before he reached up to wipe his face and eyes of tears. He glanced at his hand, seeing it holding the photo of his wife. Sebastian had to wipe a few more tears away once again. "At least you're together again..," he whispered mournfully, sniffling a little. He then noticed the paper and pen beside him...and picked it up. He read over the little piece of paper quickly, wiping his bleary eyes every few seconds, before sliding it into his pocket neatly for later use. Then he stood and said very clearly, "Tanaka." His face was set in an almost emotionless expression. When the older man appeared, Sebastian said quietly, "Please arrange for a burial. Lord Phantomhive has passed away." All of the happiness that was inside him before was gone now. What was Ciel to think? He would come home to find his father gone. Surely he would be prepared to take over the estate, though. And if not, Sebastian would be by his side to help him along.
Almost an hour later, the coffin had come and those connected close to the family had been informed--the servants, Ciel's aunt, Lau, and and Elizabeth. Sebastian lifted the photo frame off of the floor of the now-empty office. Oh, how beautiful Ciel's mother was. Now...now they would be together again for all eternity. He smiled only a bit at this and set the photo back on the desk. Now alone, he pulled out the paper with his previous master's handwriting on it and looked it once over again. His will and testament... He sighed softly and stashed it away before beginning to sweep up the scattered mess on the floor.

One week passed since the death of Master Phantomhive and sadly, no one was able to locate Ciel in time. Tanaka had sent for immediate word to the school that if he was at the school to return at once, but the messenger returned the day of the funeral with news that the young master had already left the school’s ward. At that point, if he was still in the city, they had no idea where he was. While the messenger was there, he was able to retrieve a letter addressed to Ciel that apparently arrived after he left. It was from Sebastian… He must have just missed the carrier as he was leaving.
Elizabeth, unlike Ciel’s aunt and Lau, stayed after the funeral. It had almost been two days since the funeral and she was starting to get worried about Ciel. No one could find him anywhere. In her worry over Ciel’s whereabouts and Ciel’s father’s death, she locked herself away in Ciel’s room. Since the announcement of their engagement, Elizabeth had grown to love Ciel’s father like a second father. There was many times during the four years of Ciel’s being at college that she came over to visit with the man. She always begged him to give her permission to so see Ciel in London, but he forbid it. No one was allow to go see Ciel… and Ciel wasn’t allow to come home… It was his father’s way of forcing Ciel to grow up. Now Elizabeth was almost hell-bent on staying and living out of Ciel’s room until he came back. He would have to come back eventually, at least if he wanted to collect on his father’s will. The only person that she allowed to see her was Sebastian, the rest she didn’t open the door too. She even turned her own mother away. She just spend most of her days staring out the window waiting for Ciel to ride up and dry her tears.
It was almost sunset when Sebastian knocked on the door to serve her dinner. Her dimmed emerald eyes torn from the window as she moved to the door. She unlocked the door slowly before letting the raven-haired butler in with his cart. “…. He is never coming back, right? I know you sent him letters, I heard the messenger say he found one accidently left at the school. You sent him letters even though we weren't supposed to… So you know don’t you, you know that he is gone and he isn’t coming back. That he has run away and he has left us all forever!” The blonde girl sobbed lightly as she shut and locked the door behind him. Her blonde spiral curls were down and messy and she had been crying again. This must have been her latest explanation to why Ciel wasn’t home yet. Yesterday, she swore that he must have been murdered and all the London police needed to be searching for his body in slums and harbor. Depression was really starting to set in now…

Sebastian sighed softly as he set up Elizabeth's meal on his cart. He wasn't sure why Elizabeth was letting him see her when she wouldn't even let her own mother, but he wasn't completely complaining. At least she was letting someone visit her. He began to think she was beginning to go mad in that room all by herself. He sighed once again and wheeled the tray out of the kitchen and down the many halls to Ciel's room.
Once he arrived, he wasn't surprised when Elizabeth opened the door immediately after Sebastian's first knock. She always seemed to know when he had come to wait on her. He calmly entered and uncovered her meal as she ranted at him, blaming him for apparently not telling her that he knew where Ciel was. "I've brought you some Earl Grey, Miss Elizabeth," he told her softly once she was done and the door was locked. He poured her a cup and held it out for her to take after dropping two cubes of sugar in it. "If I remember correctly, it is Ciel's favourite. He generally doesn't take sugar in it, but I imagine it may be too bitter for your tastes without it."
Frowning a little when he looked at her, he sighed for the third time in ten minutes. He set the cup down on the cart once again then turned back to her. He slouched down to be at her eye level and wiped the tears from her face. "Miss Elizabeth, please do not cry. It will not cause him to arrive any quicker, and it makes your face all red. I do not believe this is how Ciel would first like to see you when he does arrive. He would want to see your radiant happiness as always," he soothed her in a soft voice. Then he stood tall again and handed her the cup of tea.
"Please do not accuse me of such things in your conspiracies, Miss Elizabeth. I do care for him deeply, if not as much as you do. Now, I can assure you that I do not know the whereabouts of Master Ciel currently. Yes, I did correspond with him, but it was only a few letters. He did not anticipate any delay happening in his arrival back to this estate. I'm sure it's only an issue with the train and it got delayed or something of the sort. So don't you fret, alright? He'll be home soon enough. Please do not accuse me of such things in your conspiracies, Miss Elizabeth. I do care for him deeply, if not as much as you do." He nodded his head at her in a short bow. "Would you like anything else, Miss Elizabeth?"

Elizabeth calmed a little at the mental slap to the face. She had been so hysteric the last few days that she failed to see things like the train being delayed. It honestly could have been very possible. He wasn't even suppose to be home until yesterday, the only reason everyone was freaking out was because they couldn't find out where he was... and now with Father dead. Ciel was the sole heir to the entire fortune.... The fact that he was missing was just made everyone on edge about who the fortune would go to if Ciel never showed up. Would it go to Elizabeth? Ciel's Aunt? Who would live at the estate? What would the servants go? A lot of them had been here so long, they practically grew up here. No one really knew what to do without Father there, and somehow Ciel coming home was supposed to fix everything back to the way things should be.
The blonde girl took the cup of tea from Sebastian now feeling her depression slightly subside for the moment. As she sipped from the tea cup, her eyes moved back to the window. The tea tasted bitter even with the sugar to sweet it, but she hardly took notice as she looked out the window. The horizon was beautiful from this side of the house. The tree line and hills seemed to warmly glow with the sunshine, it all seemed to be at peace. The country really was such a serene place. She had only spent more time out here recently, but normally she stayed closer to the city in her family's estate. Sometimes she forgot how much she liked being out here. With everything that had happened, it was hard to appreciate that.
"... could you just stay with me for a little..." She asked softly not wanting to be alone. Whether she liked to admit it or not, she liked having Sebastian in the room, because Sebastian reminded her of Ciel. Before Ciel left, Sebastian and Ciel were almost inseparable, so seeing him made Elizabeth think of Ciel. She glanced back to Sebastin for a moment with small tears starting to form. "How are you dealing with him being gone like this so easily? He was your best friend..."She said with a frown before she turned back towards the window. With tears in her eyes, she looked out at the hills again.
Sebastian's words seemed to barely register to her as her tea cup slipped from her hands and scatter on the ground with a loud crash. "Ciel!" She gasped seeing someone coming up over one of the hills. She ran to the door and quickly ran downstairs and out the front door. She didn't care how she looked or how much of a commotion she was making, and she certainly didn't care that she was not doing any of this like a lady should. She ran and ran out to the body form. Her legs weak from the lack of physical exercise before, almost didn't get her to her destination, but she pushed on.
As she reached the body form, she realized something was very wrong. This man was dirty and hurt from head to toe. He had one suitcase and musty-looking cap on. "...Ciel..?"She whispered only feet from him now. The manly figure now looked up from the ground at the long curly haired blonde, revealing the bandages over one eye. "..Elizabeth.."He spoke as he reached out for her, but the motion seemed to be to the breaking point seeing as he collapsed immediately after speaking. Elizabeth moved down to the man pulling off the cap to reveal the messy mat of dark gray hair. "Oh Ciel," She cried pulling him up to her as best she could. "Sweetie, Ciel, Ciel, please come back to me." She sobbed gripping onto him tightly.
Ciel's lifeless body limply laid there against Elizabeth spreading the dirt he had all over him onto her, even some blood, as she shook him to try and get him to come back to consciousness. With tears pouring down her face, she looked back to the mansion screaming for help.

Sebastian sighed softly at the question. "Miss Elizabeth, I must be strong for the members of this hou--" He was cut off by the exclamation from her, eyes widening slightly. He bolted over to the window, peering out of it to the person Elizabeth had seen. It was true... Ciel... Ciel was back! Something seemed...wrong, though. He was walking by himself and very slowly at that...almost as if he was worn down or had a limp. He frowned deeply as he glanced down to see Elizabeth running out to greet him. He could hear her shouts of rejoice from there. He bolted down himself to meet him, leaping over banisters and everything just to get down to his best friend he hadn't seen in months and months and months... As soon as he opened the front doors to run outside, he heard Elizabeth's scream for help. His heart dropped to his knees. He picked up speed, making it to them in record time and kneeling down beside them. One look at the male and he noticed he was completely unconscious. Terrified that he was dead, Sebastian hurriedly checked his pulse. When he felt one, he breathed a sigh of relief and gently guided Elizabeth off of the small male. "Let's get him inside," he told her soothingly. He scooped him into his arms and began to walk hurriedly to the house. "Grab his things, please!" he called back to her as he lugged the boy to the house. Luckily, the door was left ajar from the rush and he slid through the opening, almost jogging upstairs to Ciel's room where the bathroom was.
Upon entering the bathroom, Sebastian kicked the handle to the hot water, the spout immediately spewing water to fill the tub, who's stopper was already in the drain to make the tub fill up. He sat the male on the floor, leaning him against the tub, and began to undress him carefully. He frowned at the many bruises and cuts and whelps on the boy's body. Sighing, he lifted the nude boy into the tub and made sure he would stay upright as the water rose around him. He looked at the male's face, noting the bandage across his eye. He stood and closed the bathroom door, telling Elizabeth politely that she needn't see the male nude, whether she was his fiancee or not. The sight of his beaten body need not be seen by a lady no matter her status. He then returned to Ciel's side after the door was closed. He shut the water off and gazed at his face again. The boy had definitely grown while he was away. He had grown a few inches, Sebastian had to chuckle at the thought. His face had also grown out more masculine than it had been. He reached up to rinse Ciel's dirty hair, noting that it had grown a little longer than Ciel had usually kept it. "I'll have to give him a trim later," he told himself. His eyes settled on the bandage again, frown returning to his lips. Slowly, his fingers reached up to gently peel the thing off. He froze at the sight of the male's sensitive eyelid. It was red and swollen and it had seemed, and Sebastian almost shuddered at the thought, as though he had attempted to claw the organ out of its socket. It seemed a bit bloody and was scabbing over. "What happened to you, Ciel?" he asked softly to the unconscious boy, running long fingers through his wet hair. He opened a cupboard that was under the sink and pulled out a small sheet of gauze and some medical tape from a medical kit kept under there. He took a hand towel and gently dabbed at the skin around the eyelid, drying it before replacing the bandage with the new one. He proceeded then to finish cleaning Ciel of any dirt that remained before pulling the plug on the tub. He opened the bathroom door and walked out, closing it behind him. "He's fine, just a little scratched up," he told Elizabeth as he pulled a bath robe from the closet and took it off of its hanger. "Would you mind stepping out of the room for a moment? I need to bring him out to get him dried and make sure he needs no bandaging. Why don't you inform Tanaka and everyone of Master Phantomhive's arrival? I'll call you back once he's dressed and in bed," he asked of her politely, needing to get used to calling Ciel by his new title.
Once the blond was out of the room, Sebastian laid the robe on the bed neatly and moved to the bathroom, pushing the door open. He left it ajar as he lifted the young master from the tub and brought him to the bed. He laid him down gently and inspected his chest and stomach and legs. Nothing too bad. Not worth any severe medical attention. He rolled him over gently and examined his back. Still nothing major. Sebastian was very glad for that. He lifted Ciel's upper body up and dressed him in the bath robe before laying him back down and covering him with the sheets. "We'll have to get you a patch to cover that eye of yours until it's healed," he told him softly, swiping some hair from the younger male's forehead. He leaned down and kissed his bare forehead that bore a blue and purple splotch then stood straight again. "Rest well, Ciel," he whispered to him before heading out of the room. He felt his heart tug as he left the room. He had missed the male so much. So much so, that he had the odd urge to march right back into that room and curl up in bed with him and not leave his side until he was healthy again. Sebastian sighed, rubbing his forehead with stress. What the hell was wrong with him?
He bumped right into Elizabeth while he was walking blindly, eyes closed to the headache that was coming along. "Miss Elizabeth, you may sit with him now. He is still unconscious, but is clean and well. I must advise you to keep your voice down, though. He needs his rest," he told her politely and informatively and watched her hurry into the bedroom. His heart tugged again, confusing him more as he walked off to do his duties as Head of Service.

Elizabeth didn’t really know what to do with her sweetheart. There he was lying broken in her arms, and she was helpless to do anything, but sit there and hold him. His body seemed to shiver with the fears and heartbreak of pain, and the blonde girl knew nothing of this. She was so sheltered; she couldn’t begin to understand the way that Ciel felt at that exact moment. There was never a moment in her life were she was expect to care for herself. She always had someone and Ciel was laying here needing someone and she couldn’t help him… Tears poured from her eyes as at this realization. Before she even understood what was happening, Sebastian was beside her and Ciel checking his pulse. The blonde girl just stared in shock with small sobs as Ciel was lifted away from her. “… Please… save him…”She whispered in a pathetic whisper as she watched him start of towards the mansion.
Elizabeth grabbed the luggage with a bit of a struggle before she hurried after them. It was heavier than it looked, but she did as she asked and got it back to the mansion. She dropped it down by the door before catching up with the two in Ciel’s bathroom. He was already in the tub, by the time she walked in. Startled by the sight of the several bruises and marks she could see, she just nodded simply before leaving. Not really sure what to do, she just sat there on the bed watching for more instruction from Sebastian. He was so much stronger than she was. She looked like a hot mess right now, and Sebastian looked like he had trained for months for this specific situation.
She waited there sitting on the bed until Sebastian came out and told her to go tell everyone that Ciel had returned. At this point with all the commotion, Elizabeth was sure everyone knew already, but she obeyed the black haired butler’s command and left to tell everyone. She didn’t have to get very far though; Tanaka was just down the hall with Ciel’s suitcase as she walked out. She told the older butler of all that had happened, before taking the suitcase from him. “I’m going to wait for Sebastian to get finished cleaning him up and take this in to him.” Elizabeth said with a look of certainty as she wiped some tears way. She needed to stop acting like a baby, and be strong for Ciel. Tanaka just nodded to her and turned away to go inform the staff of the situation.
As she got back into the room after her encounter with Sebastian, she quickly put the suitcase over to the bed and sat down on the bed next to Ciel. “Oh sweetie… I hope you will be okay…”She whispered noticing the new bandages over one of his eyes. Her hands moved through his hair gently before glancing back down at the suitcase next to her feet now on the floor. What was so important in that suitcase that he would drag it practically all the way through the country to get it back here? She was never good at quieting her curiosity, so after a few moments of staring at the suitcase she cracked.
Soon she was on the floor opening the suitcase up to find a few rags of clothes that were somehow worse than the ones he had on before; a large book with a foreign text on the front of it; a few letters that Elizabeth could only guess were the ones from Sebastian; and finally a leather bound notebook. She wasn’t sure why of all things in the suitcase the notebook drew her interest the most, but she opened it up and started to read from it.

Sebastian sighed softly as he polished the silver in their leisure room. He was trying to think of anything else he could do to help Ciel. Granted, there wasn't much considering he was unconscious... He set the engraved platter back down on its display and plopped down on the couch, throwing the rag over his shoulder because he didn't feel like holding it in his hand any longer. "Perhaps another blanket," he mumbled to himself, knowing he was really just trying to figure out ways to go and see Ciel again. He was his best friend, and he hadn't seen him once in four years until now. He wanted to see him. Though, he would rather be able to speak to him if only to find out how much he had changed or if he was exactly the same. Nodding to himself, he stood and made his way to the closet in the hallway that held stacks of neatly-folded, fluffy blankets. He pulled Ciel's favourite out and headed down the hall to Ciel's room.
Upon entering, he saw something he didn't expect. Well, he expected Elizabeth to be curious and nosy, for the always had been. She didn't seem to change much in the past four years that Ciel was gone. But to go through her betrothed's suitcase while he was unconscious on the bed right beside her? "Miss Elizabeth! How could you be more disrespectful?" he scolded her, grabbing the journal from her hands and lifting everything back into the suitcase where it belonged. He fastened the bag and lifted it, moving it over to the corner of the room. He frowned at the blond girl in disappointment. "That is Master Phantomhive's personal luggage, Miss Elizabeth. You haven't a right yet to go through it, for you are not married. And you have no permission to do so. Please refrain from invading an unconscious man's personal objects," he told her in a "tsk tsk" tone of voice. He then proceeded to take the folded blanket that had been tossed onto the end of Ciel's bed and unfolded it, laying it gently over his young master and best friend. If he is still... He did stop writing me back, though that may have been a delivery issue. Hmm... He hadn't thought about that, and it made his heart sink to think of it. A small frown settled onto his face as he looked down at Ciel's resting features. He sure had grown to be a handsome man. Sebastian shook his head a little, turning away from him to look back at Elizabeth. "Please attempt to refrain from going through his things again, Miss Elizabeth. It is very disrespectful." He glanced over at the bag again. "Actually, I'm going to bring this down to the washroom and make sure his clothes get washed. Please behave in my absence. I'm sure he would delighted to wake up beside you after going through what seems like a lot," he told her politely as he lifted the case up into his hand. "Watch over him and get me immediately if something happens."
He then left the room, heart feeling heavy again. Why was it that he wanted to be in Elizabeth's position? He wanted Ciel to be happy to wake up in bed beside him? He shook his head again in disbelief. Maybe he was just tired from all that had happened in the past few days. He made it down to the washroom and set the suitcase on its side, opening it up to get his clothes out of it. What fell out was the journal Elizabeth had held in her hands as Sebastian walked in Ciel's room. He contemplated the thing for a moment before setting it aside and throwing the dirty clothes in a hamper to be washed later that day by Tanaka. He glanced at the book again, feeling like it was calling to him to open. He sighed softly and decided to just open it to a random page and read only that page just to sate his curiosity. It may have been a little hypocritical of him, but, hey, he had known Ciel for much longer than Elizabeth had and probably knew him way better than she did anyway. There wasn't much he didn't know about him. Though...it had been four years... He already had the journal open and was scanning a page before the thought even crossed his mind.

Elizabeth startled a little as Sebastian walked in on her. She hadn't even read one page when he walked it. The first entry was all just about some train ride, from only what she could assume was when he first left four years ago. The journal was quite full. Ciel was so secretive about everything with her. She thought for a moment maybe that she was going to get to be inside of his head for even just a little while. She would probably understand some of the things he did... or if he was the same person now four years later... It wasn't particularly a deep worry, but it was possible wasn't it? Moving out to the city, living in a new environment for four years... it could probably change a person a lot.... What if he loved someone else now? What if he didn't want to marry her now? She couldn't possibly move on from Ciel now after all this time. They had been betrothed for almost 6 years now... It was a lot time to spend thinking and getting to know the idea of person for them to just throw you away or change for the worse. She had to know... and Sebastian ruined possibly her only change of knowing.
"Sebastian, I find it hard to believe that you have any right to tell me what to do in regards to Ciel."She pouted as he moved about the room trying to scold her for looking through Ciel's things. Her face scrunched a little watching him taking the suitcase with him as he started out the door. She couldn't believe that he was taking it away from her, like she was five?? In a moment of needing to having the upper hand here, she called back out to him as he was walking out. "You are just mad because you want to know just as bad as I do if Ciel is the same person!"
The journal seemed to be worn in general from having been open numerous times, but it seemed to open to a very worn page in the middle. The words were smeared with what looked like tear stains, but thanks to Ciel's proper handwriting, it was still legible.
"Dear journal,
Something terrible has happened and I don't know how to undo it. I can't go home back to Elizabeth and pretend tonight didn't happen. We were supposed to have been studying. And at first we were... Then this guy, he threw down his textbook and... he turned to me and said he couldn't keep up this act for much longer without nothing in return. I asked him what he was talking about, and before I could get anything else out, he had pinned me in my chair. My face felt like it was on fire and I could feel my fight or flight reflect starting to scream for control. I asked him what he was doing again... and then... then... he kissed me.... I pushed him away. I didn't want it. I didn't. I want Elizabeth. I want to be with her for the rest of my life, but this guy... He had me pinned and he wouldn't get off me. Then I started crying and he stopped... He said that he knew what I was... I couldn't hide it from him. Then he touched me... The touched me somewhere that made me want to puke... but what made it worse was that some part of me deep down liked it. My body wanted the physical touch... I hadn't felt like that in so long, I forgot I could even have those feelings. This guy and me didn't go anywhere but kissing and some fondling... but sad to say I stopped resisting. I just... I kind of hate myself for doing it, but when I closed my eyes, I was back at home... with Sebastian...and he was the one touching me, kissing me.
Elizabeth... my father... my mother... they would all be ashamed if they knew that my first crush was on Sebastian. He was just always there for me, and I really do think that no matter how hard I try and forget I will always love him. But until just a few hours ago, I thought that I was over him. I was starting to see him as a friend again being away from him for so long, but with that guy... I think I am worse than I ever was before... and it hurts to know what he is so far away and will be for a long time. I don't know even have the courage to tell him how I feel. I didn't before and I still don't. I don't think I will ever be able to tell him how I feel. This is just a phase thought right journal? Tomorrow I will decide that Elizabeth is who I need to be with again and go back to seeing it that way, and in time, like before, I'll forget these feelings. I'm suppose to be the future Lord of the Phantomhive Family, there is no way that I would be accepted if I was openly gay. And even if my father did a 180 and accepted me as gay, Sebastian is one of the servants. My father would never allow me to marry, or be with for that matter, someone that wasn't of royal blood. Elizabeth had more papers backing her than a prize winning poodle, Sebastian... I don't think that Sebastian even knows both of his parents. I don't know what I am going to do... At least I know what this journal is safe. I least I can write here knowing that no one will ever read this... Maybe tomorrow will be better.
Sincerely Ciel Phantomhive."

Sebastian...didn't know what to think about what he had just read. Apparently his emotions had taken over at some point because there were tear drops slowly crawling down his cheeks and splattering on the pages. He quickly shut the book, not thinking to check and make sure no page got folded in his haste, and replaced it into the bag before sitting down on a step stool that they kept in the room. He stared at the wall across the room from him, tears still falling. So Ciel...Ciel found him attractive? Ciel had feeling for him? Ciel loved him? How was he to act now that he knew Ciel's secret? And who the hell was this guy that molested his best friend? He felt anger boiling up inside him, but he couldn't react to the information... He wasn't supposed to read it. He had invaded Ciel's privacy and read his personal journal full of his secrets. Sebastian cursed softly to himself as he rubbed a hand down his face, still staring over at the wall. He was a terrible friend... How could he do that? How could he even be so hypocritical as to tell someone else not to do the same thing not minutes before? He sighed and stood, wiping his face and eyes before hiding the suitcase in a secret cubby in the wall he had discovered over his time working there.
Taking a steeling breath, he strode out of the room to continue with his duties, working double-time to try and distract him from the thoughts and the images of smudged ink and words running through his head. It seemed to work quite well for him...mostly. The visions of himself on top of Ciel, fondling him and kissing him and undressing him still flashed through his head every now and then, causing him to intake a sharp gasp of breath and shake his head to rid the thoughts from him. What was wrong with him?

The next few days were touch and go with Ciel. The first day he stayed out cold, but when he did wake up on the second day he was in and out. He would startle awake mumbling things that didn’t make a lick of sense to Elizabeth and then he would be back asleep. It wasn’t until the third day did they actually get him to eat something and actually stay up for a more than a few minutes. Of course, Elizabeth gave him absolutely no peace when he was awake. As soon as he would begin to startle awake, she was bounce up calling everyone to come see Ciel was okay. It was almost three in the afternoon on the third day and Ciel had just gotten down some soup. “…E-Elizabeth… why hasn’t my father come to see me…?” Ciel asked in a hoarse voice. He hadn’t really opened up to anyone what had happened to him, he just kept telling everyone he was too tired to explain, but Elizabeth had pushed off telling Ciel his father had died. Ciel at the moment, honestly had no idea of his father’s death. She thought that if Ciel found out about his father, he wouldn’t focus on recovering. He would just go into a deep depression like when he lost his mother.
Needless to say, Elizabeth frowned at the sudden question from his fiancée. He had barely spoke at all the entire time he had been back, and one of the first things he wanted to know was about his father. Maybe she was couldn’t hide something as well as she thought she could. “…Ciel… about your father… I really think that you need to focus on recovering before I tell you because I’m afraid that you can’t handle—“, she tried as she scooted around the question, but Ciel cut her off. “Elizabeth. What happened to my father?” Ciel asked again in a harsh tone. Even though his voice was hoarse, the fact that he was done with her games was very apparent. “Fine, Fine… Ciel… H-He died… He had a heart attack and died about a week before you got here. W-we tried to wait for the funeral, but we had no idea what had happened to you...We thought you weren’t coming back.” She told him as tears came to her eyes. The fact that Ciel’s father was dead was still hard for her to accept. She didn’t know how Ciel was going to take it. He was one of the few blood family members that Ciel had left.
“…W-what? ... H-He… H-He is dead...? My father is dead?” Ciel choked on his own words as he felt tears swelling in his eyes. The salty tears burned against the scratches around his bandaged eye, but Ciel couldn’t stop himself. He hadn’t seen his father in four years, and now he never get to see his father again… “No, No, you must be lying… He can’t be dead. He can’t be dead.” Ciel mumbled before he covered his mouth to hold back his own words. Elizabeth reached out to touch Ciel… to comfort him, but he jerked away. “I’m going to see my father… Don’t follow me, I have to see this for myself…” Ciel proclaimed up as he stood. “No please… Ciel, you need to rest!” The long haired blond begged, but the effort was wasted. The gray haired heir staggered out the room and down the hall. He could barely keep himself up straight having to use the walls to catch himself as he stumbled out the large mansion. Most of the workers were busy with their chores for the day, so he went unnoticed throughout the house.
As he reached the backyard, he forced himself, trembling and crying, to the family cemetery on the side of the estate. The dark clouds swirled above in the sky threating to bottom out at any moment to match the crashing feeling that Ciel felt. As he saw the second tombstone next to his mother’s in the distance, he started running. The dirt hadn’t even flattened. “No… no.no.no… No! Why!” Ciel cried as he got closer and closer to the two graves. His parents weren’t the only ones buried there, but they were the newest editions… He collapsed onto the dirt above his father’s grave as he started to scream and cry as loud as he possible soon with his sore throat. How was this fair? How was he supposed to take over now? He had been gone for so long… he didn’t know these people anymore… He didn’t know to step into his father’s place. He wasn’t ready for the man to be gone. The young Phantomhive gripped at the dirt over the grave getting the clothes he was wearing stained with dirt as he kneeled in on the dirt.
As Ciel looked up and read the tombstone, he felt his eye start to burn like fire, and he ripped off the bandages as he screamed again. Layer by layer, Ciel tore through the bandages before revealing the glowing cursed eye. In the center, a pentagram… the mark of the devil… Ciel quieted now as now having freed his eye… His cursed eye now looked up at the tombstone… and the engraving now read, “Here lies Vincent Phantomhive. The man who was killed by his own son.” Tears poured down his cheek in an endless flow as he pressed his face down into the dirt. He was mumbling mostly gibberish, but if one listened closely you could hear the faint “no”, and “it’s all my fault.”
Back inside, after a few minutes of crying, Elizabeth got up the courage to go find Sebastian. “…S-Sebastion… C-Ciel has gone crazy… I told him about his f-father, and then he r-ran outside… H-He is completely mad, he yelled at me for even trying to touch him…” She cried to the tall, black-haired butler. She knew that Ciel said he wanted to go by himself, but she also knew that Ciel was in no real condition to be outside with it about to rain. As if started by just the thought of it raining, there was a boom of thunder in the distance before the sound of the rain outside started to faintly play in the background.

Sebastian was busy polishing some silver idly since there wasn’t much else to do at the time. It was very slow at the estate since Master Phantomhive passed. He looked up to see who entered the room when he saw Elizabeth’s face. She was crying and looked very distressed. He frowned deeply and set the plate down, the rag on top of it, and listened to Elizabeth’s words. he sighed and stood from his seat. “I’m guessing he went to the graveyard?” he asked softly. He had thought about where Ciel may go once he was told about his father. The graveyard seemed the best bet. He would want to see the proof.
Sebastian began an idle pace through the halls and to the foyer before entering the grounds and heading over to the family graveyard. As soon as the small area came into view he saw Ciel crouched above his father’s grave. He paused outside the gate then decided to enter it and make his way to Ciel’s distressed side. He stopped behind Ciel and watched silently for a moment as the new master of the estate broke down over the grave.
After a few moments, Sebastian stepped forward slowly and kneeled beside his best friend of years. As they crouched over the grave, Sebastian felt tears of his own surface. He had been a father and a saviour for him as well. It was odd without the old man around. He gave a shake-y sigh and reached over to Ciel. He carefully pulled him into his arms and held him to his chest, rocking him slightly in his grasp. “Shh,” he whispered softly, not in a commanding way, but in a comforting voice to let Ciel know he was there for him. He really hadn’t been able to see him much since he’d been back. Just now and again, and he was usually asleep when he entered the room. The thoughts of what he had read still hadn’t gone away and were plaguing him, but he could live with it for a while. He held Ciel firmly in his arms, refusing to let him go even if he thought he wanted to be. Ciel needed someone to be there for him in his time of need and Sebastian was willing to be that person.
“It’s not your fault,” he told him in a soft voice. Sebastian was probably plagued by this as much as Ciel was. Sebastian, after all, had been the last one to see the man alive and could have hurried back to his side with his tea instead of stalling and going to his room to giggle about his best friend arriving soon. Maybe he couldn’t have stopped the attack, but at least the man wouldn’t have been alone in his death. He would have had a companion to stay there with him. Instead...Sebastian had found him alone and cold on the floor of his office. The butler sighed again shakily and held him tighter to his chest, resting his cheek on top of his head.

The rain seemed to pour down from the heavens like a waterfall as Ciel cried over his father’s grave. How was he going to move onto from this? When his mother died, Ciel was able to fall back into the open arms of his father… now… now he was alone. His only living relative hadn’t talk to him in years and probably wouldn’t any time soon seeing that his father was dead now. The beating down rain muffled the sounds of the person walking up to him, but as the other knelt down beside him, Ciel felt other’s presence towering over him. Ciel, ashamed, couldn’t even pull himself up from the dirt. He didn’t want anyone to see him like this… he was supposed to be strong, and unbreakable.
As the other touched him, his body’s first reaction was the try and pull away, but the other didn’t let go of him. Instead, the other pulled Ciel into his arms, embracing him. It was at that point that Ciel actually looked up at who was there with him… Sebastian. Then as if to confirm it for sure, Ciel heard Sebastian’s soft voice coming through the rain. Sebastian was truly the only person he could count on in this world. With a sparkle of pain in his eye, Ciel started to cry again as he slowly reached around the other’s torso and held Sebastian tight. Ciel pushing his face down into Sebastian to hide it. He didn’t want Sebastian to see him… He wanted to hide his face in Sebastian’s chest forever. If Sebastian saw his eye… Sebastian would know that Ciel was cursed… He would know just how much it was Ciel’s fault. The soft words broke through the young Phantomhive’s subconscious, “It’s not your fault.”
“But it is… You don’t understand. Because if you did, you would hate me for it. You would never want to see my face ever again if you knew the truth. I am a disgrace to the Phantomhive name.” Ciel spoke with deep inner hatred for himself. His voice was almost completely hoarse now, and it could barely be heard over the rain that had drenched them both now, but you could still feel the pain in his worlds. Ciel was the reason for his father’s dead… whether he meant to do it or not.
