 Her attempts at tracking down that leopard she met earlier the summer had been rather fruitless. In fact, so far she had zero luck. She extremely disliked that she was out looking for someone who couldn't be found. She was filled with endless fury that in all this time, he himself didn't come to find her. She hated even more the fact that she felt the compelling urge to go and find him at all. Why couldn't she just be happy as she ever was before she met him? Why had she bothered to send away her little slave? She sighed feeling utterly exasperated.
She had been strolling around aimlessly not really heading for anywhere in particular. She then spotted a familiar pelt. Her eyes danced, and her smile smirked as huge as it could. She pranced right over and pounced him gently from behind. "Oh hooo... Lookie who I found."

Minding his own business – for once in his young life – he had even passed by a group of hyena without bothering them or even saying hello. Well, okay, so the hyenas he intentionally avoided because well they had looked freakin scary. There was a pack of em, at least eight or nine, it seemed like, when he saw them from a distance. And well he didn’t much like to tangle with big groups of hyena. Their laughing freaking him out for some reason, and it seemed like those guys were always laughing about something or other. Not that he didn’t like laughing, but, well, you know, with hyenas somehow it was different.
He frowned at his own thoughts as he trotted along aimlessly, not really paying much attention to his surroundings. It wasn’t much like him to judge others just based on something stupid like laughing, he loved to laugh! The orange and black lion was just pondering why he might have such weird opinions about hyenas without ever having really had one as a friend when the leopard pounced him.
Naruto let out a sudden roar, a mix of fight and anger, dropping and rolling out from under the body that was suddenly on top of his. He spun on a paw and clawed the ground under him to face the sudden “attacker”, his blue eyes widening when he saw a familiar muzzle, his brain registering the voice after his body had already taken action.
”You!? What do you want?” He backed away slowly, not seeming to be aware of the action.

Imbali giggled and just sat there relaxing. She let her tail swish from side to side. She sat down and got comfortable. "Why don't you calm down? You and I both know full well that didn't hurt you one bit. I hit you harder in previous meetings."
She looked at him as if begging him to attempt to persuade her in all the ways she was stupid, crazy, or messed up. She started to doodle a claw in the ground under them. Her eyes flicked up to gaze at him. She just grinned, then smirked, and then grinned again.
"Oh mans.... Did I ever tell you my name? I'm Imbali. Why is it every time you see me. You just greet me with a dramatic 'YOU!'?" She attempted to say the 'YOU' in a way that was imitating the way he said it to her. She then laughed again to herself.
"You know.. sometimes, you're dumber than a pit of sticks. Lucky for you, I happen to get along famously with those types. Also, I was feeling a little lonely and in the mood for company. Won't you hang out with me? And, keep me company?" She attempted a coy and pretty smile at him with that last request. She figured she better make sure the last thing she says isn't sounding too insulting.

“It didn’t HURT but you scared the s**t outta me!” He growled irritably, sitting down when the leopard did, mimicking her casual posture. Jeez this lady knew how to dampen a mood!
“Yeah I remember your name… I’m Naruto, if you don’t remember mine-ttebayo” He mumbled the last bit, which just sounded like nonsense. “I don’t greet you that way every time!!” he pauses a moment, quirking his lips. “I don’t think… did I really? Well you were being a jerk, so that’s why!”
Her laughter was at least not off-putting, but it still kind of weirded him out for some reason. Maybe just because he could never tell exactly what the other cat was about to do or say. Was he just bad at reading people? Or maybe it was that he had just been thinking about hyenas and how their laugh was weird and disturbing. He wasn’t sure which it was, or maybe it was something else altogether. Either way he didn’t give it much thought.
“I’m not dumber than a pit of sticks!” A growl crawled out of his throat at the insult, and he pouted like a cub as she continued. “Maybe, I guess… I wasn’t really doing anything anyway….” He hoped he didn’t regret his decision…

Hearing that she had scared him half to death, well, she just grinned. Then, she smirked. She tried hard not to outright laugh, but she was greatly amused. She wasn't acting crazy insane amused, but it was definitely mischievously amused.
Her tail then flopped to the other side and rested there a moment. Her ears turned forward as her eyes filled with mirth. She heard his little quip there. She tried to say it like he did and making a little shooting gesture with her paw. Well, it didn't probably look like a gun, and it in fact might have looked a little odd since leopards don't have opposeable thumbs. "Ttebayo~"
"Oh, stop it. Would you just quit being a great big cry baby? Seriously, you're a big boy now. I wasn't being a jerk. I was taking you by surprise. It's not my fault that you're just never paying attention when I catch you unawares. I just must be good at randomly finding you. Of course, I'm fantastic at sneaking up on you. Those are my skills, yo. That's what makes me such a fierce hunter."
One of her paws moved up to smooth and feel the fur on her neck, then her chin, and then all around her cheek. It was obviously she had taken a moment to love all over herself. She was probably giving herself positive reinforcement for being so utterly masterful at being sneaky and fierce.
When he finally gave up and agreed to her request, she got up and walked around him. She nuzzled up to him as her circle around him got tighter and closer as she went around. Her tail wrapped around his shoulders like a boa wrap. "Excellent. I'm glad to hear that. Now, tell me. Were you doing something terribly exciting before I so rudely interrupted you? I do apologize. I know it was an incredibly rude way to greet you. I just simply couldn't help myself. It was like seeing a half bled carcass someone was spooked off from eating and just leaving without bothering to eat it. It was like a free meal or golden bangles for my ankles. Gosh... If only I had some of those."

That she didn’t look completely outta her mind was comforting, and so Naruto felt himself relax a bit. Her smile was nice too, even if she looked like she was trying to figure out the best way to get him to entertain her….
He snickered at her imitation of his funny phrase. She didn’t seem to be mocking him? At least not maliciously? He wasn’t sure.
“It’s not my fault you always happen to catch me unawares either! It’s just pure chance!” He let out a chuffing noise and pouted. “I’m fantastic at sneaking up on things too…”
Naruto titled his head in confusion at her sudden grooming, at least, he thought it was grooming… that’s what it looked like as far as he could figure.
He sniffed and stiffened momentarily when she starting to do snuggly circles around him, but after a moments pause he could tell she didn’t have evil intentions and so relaxed, snorting when her tail hairs bapped his nose briefly. “No I wasn’t really… I was just headed for a water hole, I was thinking about having a swim, I guess…” He huffed again, looking over at where she had stopped beside him.
“Heh yeah I guess it’d be kinda tempting to jump on somebody you knew you could surprise just to see their reaction..” A grin crawled across his face slowly at the thought, heck, that was something he’d be likely to do himself! It’d just be too tempting. “I guess I can forgive you then.”

She swished her head side to side letting out a gentle but audible, "Tsk, tsk.... Naruto. How in the savannah are you supposed to have any fun if you're huffing like that all the time? Life is short. It's for the living to enjoy." She then walked away and loosened herself away from him.
With her head turned away, her she had an eye squinting giggle. It was so cute and hilarious when boys were flustered and didn't know how to behave with or handle girls. She turned her head to observe him some more. When she saw he was increasingly relaxing, she just smiled. Her eyes looked over towards something, as her tail started to swish in the grass. The fluid movement was almost serpentine.
She then looked at him considering his desire to go towards the watering hole. "Well, shall we take a walk then? Let's go to that watering hole. You know... I daresay... It's been a few months since I went for a swim." She stared at nothing in particular as she thought back to a hot summer night when she went romping with some strange lion. It had been exciting. There had been some things about that encounter that were probably a little dubious if not seeds for future drama or problems should his mate find out. She then stretched out and shook her coat out as she let her muscles know they were about to have some fun.
"You see? Just because something doesn't feel funny when it happens to you doesn't mean that it's not funny at all or not necessarily entertaining. There are lots of things that when they happen to us; they make us feel a little embarrassed. If you're lucky, you get to be on the prankster side. Also, besides! My opinion is that the unexpected keeps life exciting. If you always know what to expect, that just gets positively boring. Who wants to be bored?" She began to wait for him ready to lead the way. She was then starting to feel antsy to go and do something. She walked along side him, rubbing up against him in a completely feline way before walking off ahead of him. She waited. She didn't even know if she were facing the right direction even. There were more than watering hole to go to.

Naruto snorted again, seemingly just to annoy the leopardess, or so it might have seemed. ”I do have fun! Plenty of fun all the time!”
For some reason he found his eyes easily and happily focusing on her swishing tail, the dark purple length drawing his attention because of the interesting motions. His eyes jerked back up to her face however when she spoke again.
”A swim? Yeah a swim sounds good.” he agreed, apparently forgetting that it had been his suggestion in the first place. The location he was more or less headed for when she happened upon him. The leopardess was good at being distracting, and Naruto was easily distracted.
”Well yeah I knew that…” he grumped, standing to all four feet and starting to trot in the direction he’d been bound previously. ”But jokes and things are more fun when you’re not the tail of them-tteba.”
A purr pulled itself from his throat faintly as she brushed against him however, and a grin played over his face after his brain registered her mention of the unexpected being exciting. ”Surprises are the best thing in the world! And being bored sucks.”
”Let’s go swimming and scare some fish!” He practically roared, seeing her anxiousness and feeling antsy himself all of a sudden. The more relaxed her behavior became, the more relaxed he felt.
Leaping just for the heck of it, he started off at a run just to the right of the direction she had been facing. ”This way!”

She just smiled and grinned away at him. His agreement with her pleased her greatly. She found that she was thoroughly enjoying visiting him so much more this time than before. She decided then for at least the time being; she wouldn't attack him or anything too fierce unprovoked. She felt quite certain that given some time and her unrelenting presence; he would grow to be quite fond of her. Then, how would she be able to force him to go on without her?
In any case, her thoughts were pretty mum. They only festered in the swinging of her tail which was in full tick tock motion due to her feeling excited and eager to go do something fun and engaging. The idea of taking a swim with someone new was also rather exciting. She had almost missed his faint purr. Almost, but she caught it just barely. It was vague and she would have surely missed it if she hadn't brushed up against him and been able to feel it. She passed on addressing it. She figured putting him on the spot would only get a reaction that she didn't wanna be bothered with.
Instead she then picked up her pace to quickly gain on him. "HEY! LET'S RACE! LAST ONE IN IS... A ...ROTTEN....." She then started to dart forward running quickly and thinking of what was rotten that no self respecting feline would wanna be. "A rotten ...... HYENA TOENAIL!" Yeah. That sounded pretty gross. She was pretty dead set on that not being her.
