Knut felt like he had really come into his own. He was all grown up and ready for some action! Assuming he could find something to do, of course. He wanted to go on vikings and make a name for himself and prove that his pink mane didn't mean that he was soft! He wasn't some light-colored little sissy who couldn't keep up with the darker pelted animals in the pride. He was really quite sure that he could handle anything throw at him. Or anyone. So of course he was prowling around looking for someone to fight with. He was young and foolish, but he wasn't completely stupid. He knew better than to challenge the more experienced members of the pride. Unless he wanted new scars to make himself look tougher. No, he was going to need to find younger males, like him- lions he could fight on a more even footing. Ones he might even be able to best. He had been training since before he could remember, and he wanted to prove himself. There would be no messing this up! Bloodline be damned.

Tollak was also on the hunt for new sparring partners.
As one of the youngest reavers as of recently he was quick to discover that he was simply a lot smaller than some of the bigger stormborn in the pride. This alone was enough to be intimidating, yet when Tollak overcame whatever fear he had and challenged them those reavers laughed him away!
It was humiliating that even when he was officially a reaver now none of the adults trusted him enough not to cry like a kid when practice fighting...
So to solve this the gray lion was on the hunt for kids his age that could be potential reavers! He considered finding his friend from earlier with whom they made plans to beat all the adults up with; but as luck would have it Knut was his first victim instead.
"Hey you." He called to the other boy, sizing him up briefly before deciding he was a worthy candidate for his cause. "I'm a reaver, fight me." He paused for a moment to find something to sweeten the deal. "If you win I'll take you on a viking with me."

Knut looked over at Tollak when the lion called to him, the lion arching an eyebrow as he was called. "You want to fight me, punk?" He demanded. Really, though, he was excited. This was exactly what he was looking for! Someone to fight and show off his skills against! Plus, this guy said he was a reaver, and that he would take him on a viking if he won! Who wouldn't agree to terms like that. "I was going to win anyway!" He hummed as he charged over, "but that doesn't mean you can take back the victory conditions!" CaliWolfe Hope I have the dice right. XD

"Good! The roguelands won't kill you then!" Tollak wore a grin on his face. In all honesty from what he had experienced in the roguelands they were just big and wide and boring. Sure, he had met a god out there, and brought said god back to the pride. Okay, it was true that he had picked up a bunch of feathers and materials for jewelry out there. But he hadn't even caught a thrall yet, and he hadn't been in any big bloodthristy fights.
Mainly all being a reaver was about to Tollak was wandering around in circles all day and hoping you came across something of interest.
He wasn't about to wait for the other to make the first move however, Tollak was quick to rush towards the pink-maned male and attempted to sink his teeth into his shoulder.Cajanic *cough*I'msorryIforgotaboutthis*cough*

Knut brought himself down low, to get underneath the attack of the other lion. He just managed to get his growing mane beneath the other's fangs as he rammed him right in the stomach, knocking them both over and into the dirt. "Take that!" He huffed, leaping off the lion and getting back to his paws, raising his claws and taking a swing at the lion's face. He wasn't looking to claw him seriously or anything, but he certainly wanted to hit him. He wanted to make sure this guy knew that he wasn't dealing with just any kid in the stormborn! His yellow and pink colors were pale, but his spirit was fierce! He had to get past his looks.

Tollak didn't expect for Knut to have dodged him like such. It was both a pleased but surprised reaction that he gave in form of a low growl. So this kid wasn't pathetic after all! Not that he had actually expected him to be as horrible of a fighter as say, hmm, his brother. But Tollak had more then once been disappointed by a lion his age believing himself able to best Tollak in a fight. Knut able to catch him off guard so quick was... Refreshing.
As he rolled over onto the ground Knut swung at his face. Tollak rose a paw to defend himself against the attack, but knew he would suffer a small amount of damage from being so delayed in his reaction. He then proceeded to stand as well, quickly issuing a slash in return for the small nick above his eye.

Knut was feeling very confident in his abilities, though he knew this guy was not a weakling- he knew what he was doing, too! there's no way he would have been a reaver if he didn't have some skill. So of course that made Knut all the more eager to beat him. All those bragging rights were too much to ignore. He felt the paw smack him in the cheek and he gasped, feeling a stung from the impact and the cut that had been left behind. Snarling, he let his anger get the better of him a little bit and he jumped at Tollak, tackling him and more or less rolling around with him. "Take this!" He huffed. Now this was going to show him. He had skills, too!

Tollak didn't even need to force a grin as he had the wind knocked out of him. This lion was good! So much better then the other lions he had fought and only claimed to have skill. Tollak hadn't so much as lifted a paw before the others went scampering off. Injuries and wounds were all part of battle. Why hadn't anyone other then this guy and himself seemed to have grasped that concept? Really, it wasn't that hard to understand.
As they rolled Tollak's back landed on a sharp stone, causing him to roar in pain as he attempted to kick the other off of him. Had this been a real fight he wouldn't have allowed the pain to bother him, and would have rushed to fight some more.
But this wasn't a real battle. It was just a test to see if the other had what it took to be a reaver. As far as Tollak knew he was good enough, and the better sense of him that acknowledged this rose a paw in defeat. "Alright, alright!" He declared. "You win, I'll take you the rogue lands." He added a grin of friendliness. "You'll make a good reaver."

While a real battle wouldn't have allowed for someone to call it quits mid-way, this was far from a real fight. He knew he would have been considered a bit of a monster if he just kept fighting when it was supposed to be a harmless sparring match they were having. Or, nearly harmless, anyway. He took a few steps back when he was kicked off, the lion grinning from ear to ear. Well good! He had managed to win the fight, so to speak, and prove himself worthy of going to the rogue lands. "Thanks!" He hummed brightly, "I can see why you're already a viking," he added with a nod. He clearly knew what he was doing in battle. How cool was that! Now he was going to get to go into the rogue lands on a real viking! He could not have been more excited.

Tollak was taught to fight at the same time he was learning to walk on his feet. He considered it something of a natural skill he possessed, but still, the lion couldn't help but grin at his new friend's reaction. "Heh. Yep! I come from a long line of proud reavers!" Actually no, he didn't. If he did there was no way to confirm it since his father was some mysterious figure he'd never met.
His mother was proud though, and she wanted to be a reaver, so that counted right? Besides, what Knut didn't know couldn't hurt him, and Tollak didn't want to seem weak or something just because he was officially the only reaver in the family.
"Like I said, you'll make a good reaver! It ain't so hard if you know how to fight." It wasn't hard to survive in even if you didn't know the first thing about battle, but then Tollak hadn't really invited on any dangerous vikings yet, which frustrated him to no end. He bit his lip in thought for a moment, humming a bit before finally opening his mouth to say, "Meet me here tomorrow. Then we can go a-viking!" It would give him a day to figure out where all the older-reavers were wandering off to and see if he couldn't find out where all the danger had gone. Then they really could have some fun.
"So yeah. Tomorrow, here. Noon." Tollak turned to leave. Now the only step was to find a captain willing to take them out, which shouldn't have been too hard, Tollak even had one in mind. After that they could go out and find thralls to capture! Thralls and treasure and actual fights to be in! It was going to be great!
