Sometimes in order to defeat a monster, you got to become a monster and that is what he fears the most.

His Parents' Old Boom box and Music Collection: While it may have been a hassle through out much his youth, Jay kept his parents' boom box after their death and listened to their music collection until some of the cassettes simply fell apart. When he could, he'd replace the casing if he could. Though in the end, it ended up going into storage before he ended up in MIT. When he uses it, he reminds him of the times he and his parents used to dance and just sing along to some of the old hits.

Philosophical/ Social Viewpoint:

Jay isn't like the rest of the bat family. If compared to the rest of the bat family. His persona would be a mixture of Jason Todd and Barbara Gordon. Jay sees the world as a challenge, but yet a place filled monsters in the form of men and women, who believe they can simply take what they want and get away with. Jay believes that he can stop them all. That he will be the one to stop them all. Sometimes the only way to beat these monsters is to drag them into the light. Because the worse threat to any human being is the one, no one knows exists. This makes him passionate about what he does and how he lives. But if he were to cross the line, he'd do it for the right cause only. Because it has something to do with this, in order to kill one man, you must be willing to kill ten. In order to kill ten men, you must be willing to kill a hundred. In order to destroy a great evil, you must be willing to become a greater evil. While Jay doesn't kill, he is willing to take down as many people as possible to take down the threat. If that means ruining a few good men who made mistakes, that is exactly what he will do.

Religious Viewpoint:

Jay believes there is a God, but has never become a Christian because he believes God wouldn't approve of the things he does. Regardless of the why he does it.

Romantic Viewpoint:

There are two kinds of people in this world: hopeless romantics and realists. A realist just sees that face and packs it in with every other pretty girl they've ever seen before. The hopeless romantic becomes convinced that God put them on Earth to be with that one person. Jay is for all intents and purposes a hopeless romantic. He believes that you can find love in many different places and be very conflicted. He discovered as he grew up that life is far more complicated than you think it is when you're a kid. It isn't just a straightforward fairytale. But regardless of the terms, he believes in it.

Personality

Prior to meeting Barbara Gordon, Oracle, Jay was an individual searching for his purpose in life. While he is hard working, things bore him quite easily. The harder the challenge, the harder he pushes. Which makes Jay quite ambitious. Though, this ambition stems from his life as a foster kid. While not ever foster parent was just a money collector and crappy parent, most of his were. They were just bullies hiding behind their own greed. And because of that, Jay is the person he is today with the assistance of Babs. Jay is driven, hopeful, strong, and independent in his role as Oracle. He doesn’t need people to back him up in the field because regardless of the fact he’s not a top fighter, there’s are so many other skills he can ride on to beat his foes. Behind the screen, he carries many of these very same traits. When challenges arise, he rises higher because everyone has to do their part even if it’s one you have to face on your own. Though in his personal life and all of his others roles, he can be extremely playful until he needs to be serious. But one of his most defining features is his integrity. Jay is one to never break his integrity unless the situation calls for it. Even when he has the ability to figure out the identity of other cape crusaders, he does not.

Biography

When life throws you a wrench, you better duck. At least that was the saying the Grant family. Born to a middle class family in the middle of winter on January 7th, Jay Donald Grant had to figure out that out the hard way. For the first four years of his life, he displayed remarkable feats. Some of these feats consist of: Jay learning to speak at six months, learning to walk within nine months, and him being capable of doing basic reading and math by the age of three. If his parents hadn’t been knocked off Sprang Bridge, he would have had a totally different life.

As a kid, he moved on from their death fairly easily, but nothing came easy. Most nights resulted in Jay crying himself asleep. This happened for a month or so until he finally accepted what had happened to the best of his abilities. But during this time, he coped through taking things apart in the foster home he had been placed in. His foster parents didn’t like the ‘destructive’ qualities he displayed even after being reprimanded multiple times. By the age of seven, he was taking computers apart and back together as easy as he could button up his own shirt. Though like many foster kids, he hopped around house to house, never making any true connections. Despite the constant moving, he excelled in school even though it bored him half to death which lead to him being quite troublemaker. Some called it a cry for help, while Jay knew that it truly wasn’t that. He was just bored. He didn’t need his crappy foster parents attention because they were nothing but crap.

Around the age of 10, he started to dive into the Internet and computers at a more alarming rate. At first, it started as a past time, but as more time passed. He got curious and that curiosity led to him learning how to hack. Similar to his tinkering, he excelled at the art and soon became known as the Shadow Walker within the hacker community. Whenever he could, he’d find himself on a computer and going at it. Unlike many things, it provided him a challenge that always kept changing.

Though around the age of 14, he found himself catching the attention of a man known as Mister Samuel Roberts. Even though Jay couldn’t guess it, this man changed his life. Roberts was his homeroom teacher in his freshman year at Gotham High. As Mr. Roberts put it, he knew he was brilliant from the moment Jay interrupted his class the first fifteen times. There was something different about Jay that he just couldn’t. It wasn’t that he interrupted class like a buffoon, but because it usually some joke-ish remark about something academic. Something a fool wouldn’t get or understand. So Mr. Roberts poured a great deal of attention into him as he got to know the kid known as Jay Grant. After realizing that kid was genius, he convinced Jay to take an IQ test to see exactly how smart he was. When he scored a 221, he pushed for him to looking into all of the offers that came his way. When Jay had accepted the offer to MIT, Mr. Roberts offered him his best and walked out of his life as quickly as he entered,

Jay’s time with MIT was frankly the highlight of his life. For once in his life, he found himself challenged and immersed in things he could truly get into. Once he turned 16, he got his GED and became a full pledge student dual majoring in mechanical engineering and astrophysics. While those were his majors, he dabbled in various other sciences as he took part in various research projects. However, around his junior year, projects designed by fellows were being stolen and presented by top tier tech companies. But without proof, those students could do virtually nothing. And this was the rebirth of the Shadow Walker, since the only way anyone could steal the designs were if they had hacked the system. And that sort of was his thing after all. Rusty, it took him longer than it should have to track the cyber trail. But what he realized in the moment he finally found the hacker was that- if he just took the schematics back, the hacker would simply do it again and to someone else. Within a week’s time, he had found everything he could and released it to the world, virtually outing the hacker. While no one knew Jay Grant had done it, Shadow Walker was now becoming the talk of town in the hacker community.

The thrill and the sense of justice sparked something into him. He wanted to help people like the fellows, pull the creeps that hid in the shadow into the light, and see justice be served. This ultimately led to him dropping out of MIT a little after he turned eighteen. In actuality, he had been kicked out of the school due to him being caught hacking into MIT’s database. Though in his defense, one of the Deans actually was as crooked as a broken arrow. In order to keep up appearances for the press, they agreed to simply allow him to state, he dropped out because, “It wasn’t his pace anymore.”

Returning to Gotham, he was virtual homeless and living out of a van. While he had enough funds leftover from MIT’s stipend and grant money to rent a place for a month or two, he decided not to. If he got the place, he’d need a job. But if he didn’t get a job, he’d be back at square one. So managing to reach out to some of the “friends” he used to have, he hopped house to house for almost a year.

During that year, he continued hacking for the people. While, it didn’t bring in any dough, he felt good about himself. But also during this time, he took on the biggest hacking scandal he’d ever gone against. When a couple of frauds robbed 4.5 billion dollars from a supposed solid stockbroker company, Jay got it all back and returned it all. Though within the account, there was 1.8 Billion dollars that traced back to no one. Putting it in a private account, he was still in the same situation. If he withdrew too much, he’d attract the GCPD Sadly, this was one of his final feats as Shadow Walker.

In his attempt to let Shadow Walker cool off for a while, he took on another project known as Batwatch. Jay had grown to find Batman inspirational to his hacking endeavors. While he knew he couldn’t do what he did. He could let everyone see the work he and his team did. At first, most people thought it was just a fake until they realize it was actually live time. And then he was kicked out of his last “friend’s house”. This setback had caused him to go offline for a few weeks, as he was virtually homeless and living out the back of a van.

Though Jay pushed on. At first, it was rough as he made deals in the Gotham Underworld to get back on his feet. The first thing was getting his van equipped to be his base of operations. Then the second thing involved him killing off Jay Grant, the MIT Dropout. Which proved to be highly difficult, but at the end of the day, Jay Grant had died in a car bomb. Or at least that’s what everyone thought. The GCPD just swept under the rug as a gang hit.

And then he became Ghost, a man of no identity. Resuming the role of Shadow Walker, the hacker Robin Hood, he lived life as it was. Though in spare time, he trained and became physically fit. One day, he’d be able to help the Bat Family, but he needed to be strong enough to do so.

Sometime during his early months of being 20, Oracle tried to hack his Batwatch Blog and shut it down, but having the higher ground, he managed to kick her out after their cyber skirmish. While it had been a close call, he found himself rather intrigued by this Oracle. While he didn’t care too much about her rep in the hacker community, he was now intrigued. But, he found nothing.

In that very same week, he started his parkour training, but as he did. He tried a new experiment known as Livestream, which was basically what Batwatch did through the city cameras, but only through his phone’s camera. During his experiment, Oracle cracked into his system and managed to create a tracking virus. Two days later, a woman in wheelchair approached him by the name of Barbara Gordon. Apparently, she was there on the behalf of Oracle to give him a warning. If he continued Batwatch, Oracle would shut him down. If he persisted, the Batman himself would shut him down with force. Reluctantly, he shut it down. But apparently Gordon wasn’t done with yet. Apparently, Oracle had watched for the last two days and had asked her to offer him a space at her apartment for a few days. As long as he followed Oracle’s conditions. At first Jay thought it was a trick, but when he realized that she was serious. He took her offer. Then a few days became weeks and weeks became months. During that time, he became good friends with Barbara and met quite a few of her friends, who all seemed to be supermodels or something. Though, he resumed his training in secret, not willing to give up the goal.

Though the rebel in him proved to be too much as he involved himself in a series of missing person cases, most of them homeless people. Jay knew there was more to it then that when he found footage of one of the missing people in a fight online in the dark net. After a few days, Jay had managed to track down the kidnappers. But being unskilled, he was captured and placed into a secret underground fight club. Night after night, he fought for his life. It was a week before the Birds of Prey rescued him and the other fighters. But the moment he saw Black Canary, he realized who she was and that the others were Babs’ supermodel friends. Though before he could do anything, they left as the police showed up. While he sat at the police station, filling out his report, he met a girl named Charlie. They talked, joked and he flirted with her. He managed to grab her number, but he never called her. It wasn’t because he didn’t like her, but because when he got to Babs’ place, what happened next changed everything he knew.

It was one of the biggest arguments he had ever been in his life. She was angry at him for going against Oracles’ condition and her trust. But when he snapped back about who her friends truly were and how what he did was anything they would have done. After a heated thirty minutes, she revealed to him who she truly was and how she had planned to bring him into the circle when she knew he could be trusted due to his talents. Remarkably, he was able to move pass her deception quite easily since she didn’t even know who he truly was. Though, at the end of it all. She agreed to let him go into the field, only if he’d trained with her first, which he did.

And for half a year, he trained with Babs and the Birds of Prey. He wasn’t anywhere close to being a Batman, but he was close enough to be able to handle himself. Then in an instant… they all disappeared without a trace. For months, he searched for any trace of them, but ended up fruitless.

Though, sightings of a new Batman and Batgirl started to appear around the Gotham Underground, which gave him and idea. In respect of the friend, mentor, and mother-like figure he had lost, he did three things. The first thing was reopening Batwatch to inspire hope among those who would watch. The second was use the costume, he and Babs had worked on together to stop a hostage situation on a bus on Sprang Bridge. While not perfected, it manages to get the job done. And the third was taken up the mantle of Oracle, so he could be the watcher the city needed.

And for the last year, he’s watched, only interfering when he had too. But things are changing, and he might not be enough. Reaching out to some of the other fight club victims, home is the place to start…

[Weapon Information]

The Suit: Combining Jay's genius with his experiences from MIT along with Barbara's experience constructing suits for heroes. Even though, Barbara never They constructed a suit that'd act as a way to make up for his shortcoming in experience and some skills. The suit is quite ahead of it's time. Made out multi-polymer fibers, the suit is extremely durable, being capable of taking blows from Superman without too much being down to the wearer or even fall from great distances. It also extremely resistant to sharp objects, but with enough pressure a knife can cut it eventually. The suit can withstand extreme cold and heat without much strain to the suit. The suit is also equipped a great deal of tech which is powered by solar cells that can also convert electricity into a power source. Within the mask, there are multiple lenses being: a telescopic, thermal energy, infrared light, and normal lenses. Another feature the mask comes with is a rebreather for underwater exploration. The costume itself is a computer for all intents and purposes, allowing it to act as biometrical scanner in some cases or even a crime lab when used with various other features. This function allows Jay to hack into less complicated systems from the field. Through out the costume, there are gadgets hidden. Within each forearm (top) are graphing guns that can be accessed through simple motions and biometrical reading. At the sides of each of forearm are retractable blades capable of cutting through concrete and blocking other weapons. In the palms of his gloves are sonic wave amplifiers that allows him to produce a sonic clap and sonic waves. This function acts as one of the suits crowd function Within the belt, he contains a series of non-lethal batarangs and batcuffs.
Bat Mech Mark I: As of this moment, Mark I is inoperable due to him lacking the means to power and make weapons for it.
The Van: Jay's van is equipped with all his old equipment. Ever since he took over operations as Oracle in Kord Tower, it hasn't really been used since. Though within it, he can be just as dangerous as he is in the tower, but it's just a lot more work.

Detective: Jay is quite the detective and is quite on his way to becoming of the greats.
Hacking: Jay is one of the best hackers in country, if not the world.
Mechanical Engineering : From an early age, Jay was a tinker. It wasn't until he entered MIT did his skills in this area reached the next level. Combining his degrees together, he can create various gadgets with ease and a little time.
Computer Operations: Jay is skilled in the operating system and how to construct and bring one day. Compared to many, he is by far one of the most skilled experts in this field.
Genius Level Intelligence: Jay is shown to have a naturally high level of intelligence.
Body Conditioning: While not in olympic level condition, Jay is considerable close to it.

[Weakness Information]

The Human Clause: Outside of the suit, he is just a normal human.
Less Experience: While he is equipped with suit to put him on a level similar to the other Bats, Jay has less experienced in the field due to him being primarily behind a computer.
