Solange ran a hand through her bangs as she bounced Hawke on her hip to the beat of a low volume song. The little one had thus far proven resistant to naps, which left her mother in the business of trying to do chores with one arm. It was taking time to get used to, but after a month of having the twins in her life, Solange was making it.
Twins. It was exciting and terrifying. When she was pregnant she had definitely felt them, but now, having them in her life, in their lives, it was a totally different ball game. Still, Solange was used to sleepless nights, so at least that aspect didn't bother her. Her entire pregnancy had been full of them. Insomnia, dizzy spells, back pain; in short, she was beyond excited just to have given birth and be done with the whole thing.
Today, though, she had plans. It was the first day she had even thought of going out since having the babies, and it wasn't exactly a fun trip. They needed a car; a real car. Better not be a god damn mini van. Hopefully Urban's tastes wouldn't clash too much with hers; so far they hadn't, but then again, this was car shopping. It separated the children from the adults, or so Wendy had said.
Solange grimaced when she felt a tug on her hair, and found Hawke chewing on the braid. At this point she didn't give a damn. Too many times of trying to pry it from the babe had ended up in squalling for her to risk it again. Hawke looked at her mother with her wide, blue eyes around the plait of hair, and Sol was sure she was smiling. Of course she was.
"Hey, Urban," Sol called out, "have you seen my boots? I thought they were by the front door..." Arceus, she had turned into that wife.

Urban had been chasing after Casey who seemed hell bent on chewing on everything he could get his hands (or teeth) onto and had been trying to prevent their apparently ravenous son from chewing on what looked like a shoe. There was an amused smile on his face and he couldn't help but think his son was a silly pup, it was true the twins had more tendencies to act like new puppies chewing on everything, and it was fine by him. It had been a strange thing, being there with Solange giving birth, having the twins and watching them grow. He was sure because of their physiology and being more pokemon than anything it explained the rapid growth of the two, and the fact they were causing them no amount of trouble at only a month old. "Here give me that son, take this." he managed with a few tugs to get the boot from Casey's mouth and offered his son a sturdy chew bone...only to blink at Solange's question. "Uhm....I have one of them. Sort of damp courtesy of Casey though." he picked up the boy and held him carefully in one hand, boot in the other. "One soggy boot." Urban was smirking slightly as he held it out to his wife, and waited for her to take it before holding his hand out to Hawke. "C'mere princess. Let mommy get her shoes on so we can get going alright?" it was funny, but the twins had changed something in him. His fears on being a crappy father had seeped away as he looked on with rapt attention and delight to all their offspring did. "The diaper bags are sitting by the door, and I have that stroller set up too." he was beyond happy to have that double stroller it made getting around easier. "Ready to go?"

How they would ever get anywhere on time again was anyone's guess. Luckily this wasn't an appointment, though the days when she would have to wrangle the two into a doctors office...Solange was no looking forward to that.
Sighing, she gave a little amused shake of her head and traded her boot for Hawke. "We're not likely to have anything left without teeth marks by the time these pups are grown." Even as she said it, there was a bit of laughter in her voice. She didn't mind; better to have healthy pups that ran her breathless than listless, sick ones.
Hawke gnawed on her mother's braid and shook her head, tugging on it as she went. She didn't even notice when her mother's head started to naturally leans towards her in an effort not to get the hair ripped out. Turning towards her father, she gave one last gnaw before going easily to him.
"We've got plenty of chew toys right? Bones?" Her eyes drifted over to her son as she slipped into the one, soggy boots. She saw the other shoe sticking out from beside the coffee table and pulled it on. When she was set, she bent down to pick up Casey. She nuzzled his cheek with her own and turned to Urban, "Ready to go, papa."

"Probably not, good thing I don't mind replacing furniture once we get moved into the new place...or after they're done teething. Whichever comes first." he was amused really at the fact their twins gnawed on everything they could manage to chew on. There was a snort of amusement as Hawke refused to let go of Sol's hair and though he'd been moments from helping #freethebraid! he was glad Hawke had let go on his own. Once he had both twins in his arms, he held them easily sort of bouncing them both while Sol finished getting her things on. "Alright here you go son, off to mama." Casey went not minding who was holding him so long as he had his bone! "Yup, bag one is their chew toys and food, bag two is the clothes, diapers, etc." he looked down at her and smiled before he was getting Hawke settled into the double stroller glad it was a side by side. There was no arguments of who got to be in front this way. Once they were out the door and making the walk to the car place he couldn't help a teasing grin. "So we're getting the biggest, pinkest mini van right babe?"

Lirilei PFFT. The hashtag made me snort milk. "Check, check, and check." Solange exhaled with on a relieved sigh. Keeping all this s**t together was a job in itself. She settled Casey in next to Hawke, giving his bone a few playful tugs before standing.
She was walking pleasantly enough out the door, minding her own business, pushing the stroller like a good mommy when Urban's question made her pull up short and punch him. Playfully, of course. "You are not serious." Solange's eyes were border line panicked. He was joking right? Totally...then why did she think he would get one just to irk her?
"I am not driving a mini-van. I don't care if we have ten kids; there is no way I'm signing off on a mini-van."
Disregarding her parents, Hawke reached over and tugged on Casey's bone. She wanted a bite, too!

Painted Moose Bwahahaha....*cough* oh I mean I'm so sorry! *snicker* "Okay then I think we're good to go." he let Sol settle their daughter into the stroller, diaper bags slung over his shoulders easily, it had to be a sight seeing such a big guy carrying the diaper bags. At her stopping short and punching him he couldn't help but let out a loud laugh of amusement. he had a whole new way to piss off his wife it seemed! "Of course I'm serious! We'll need room for groceries, and kids, and car seats and stroller and as they get older anything else..." but his eyes were twinkling mischievously. He didn't mean a word of it. Casey growled at his bone being tugged on and began to tussle with his sister in the stroller, wanting to keep hold of it, even as she was tugging and chewing. In a moment born of desperation (or more than likely babyish flailing), Casey pulled the bone away....and lost his hold on it...and began to wail loudly as it landed on the ground.

"Urban, don't you dare," Solange waggled her finger under his nose with a frown. "We've only got two kids; we don't need a van." At best they might have friends and Fayth, but surely not enough to warrant one of those reputation killers. "You goober." She had to grin, even if she was trying to be stern with him.
Hawke wasn't letting go so easily! She was already proving to be possessive over things; even when they weren't hers. When the bone landed on the ground she looked in stunned silence from bone to brother, then back to bone before crying herself.
"Wha-" Solange looked down at the twins and frowned. "Hang on, guys, Mommy's got it." She picked up the bone, but not quite trusting the outdoors, she stuffed it into the diaper bag instead of giving it to the twins. Instead, she pulled out two fresh bones and gave one to each. "Are these...bacon flavored?" They didn't smell half bad, really.

"You don't think I wouldn't pimp that thing out with black and red paint, and leather seats and a kick a** sound system?" he was smirking at Solange, unable to help himself at her reaction. It was too priceless really! "Plus there's strollers, diaper bags, as they get older any sports bags, groceries...face it babe....we're uncool now. We had kids." he'd rock whatever they got to drive, simple as that. Urban looked at the scene as Solange quickly dove into action, and gave a smile at her question. "Yeah they are. There's more at home, I think those are a beef gravy flavor? I thought the bacon ones would keep the twins entertained longer though. They certainly smell better in my opinion. I just hope they don't take after my genetics in the eating department. Metal'll be a real b***h." He was glad they both seemed to settle down once they had their own bones and didn't have to share, and he breathed a sigh of relief. The twins were good to give him a headache some days really. "Whatever we get, should be big enough to fit car seats, and be able to keep these two separated as needed in there."
