General Personality First impressions of Red tend to be of a quiet grimm who doesn't like to interact with others much. Once you get past the initial quiet behavior, most learn that he's not afraid to speak his mind and doesn't really have a filter on that. Rarely does he regret going about things this way. He's easily riled up by comments or actions that he takes the wrong way and doesn't believe others have 'honest intentions' when they approach him. Sharing definitely does not mean caring in Red's opinion and things that are 'his' are undoubtedly claimed. Nobody is allowed to mess with his things, be they people or his toys. The grimm definitely likes to do things on his own and tries to ask for help as little as possible. He longs for some pack--mates, which he feels would be the true family that he never really experienced.
**A lot of how he behaves currently is influenced by his upbringing, but as time goes on some aspects will change as he's introduced to a more healthy environment and a variety of other people. ie. "I know he has a lot of negative traits right now and not a lot of positive ones, but that's because I'd like his positive traits to develop with RP."
Negative
Wary of the wolf (Quick-tempered) This grimm is, unfortunately, extremely easy to rile up. He doesn't like to share, people or 'his' things; he doesn't play well with others; it'll be a wonder if he manages to get friends. It could be something as simple as one of his toys breaking or a remark someone made that he didn't like, there's no telling what'll set him off. Red's learned better than to take swipes at people, but that doesn't stop him from snapping or growling at them.
Girls in particular seem to aggravate him faster than anything else, even if they haven't really done anything wrong. This mainly stems from an underlying layer of misogyny that mainly causes him to avoid girls if given the chance. He doesn’t seem to be aware of this on a conscious level.
Beware the bark AND the bite (Vengeful) If someone has managed to p***k his temper and he didn't manage to get them back for it the first time, you can bet your britches he'll get back at them eventually. He'll actively try to get back at them, even if they themselves have forgotten the offense. Most of the time once he's been satisfied with the retribution, he'll let it go. That doesn't mean that he'll forget about it though.
Neutral Marked Territory (possessive/protective) When it comes to things, Red holds a “this is mine” belief, even with objects that don’t actually belong to him. Once he thinks he has a right to something, he will assertively and rather domineeringly makes it known that it is his, or soon will be. Because of this possessiveness, he tends to have a quick tempered reaction when people intrude on his territory. The grimm also isn’t one to readily lend or give things away, one has to be a very close friend in order for the male to want to share what belongs to him.
With people, once he’s finally gotten close to someone, he considers them to be “his people” and becomes very protective towards them. While he’s normally distant with most people, the ones he considers to be “his people” get to see an affectionate side of him. He wants to be the only one they pay attention to, but is used to not being so. For the most part, he makes sure they don’t get into any trouble at the cause of others. Pick a fight with them, and Red will give tit for tat.
You look stupid in that. (Blunt) His nanny may have managed to get him to be quiet, but she couldn't cure him of his blunt attitude. Once you do get him to talk, there's no filter between his mouth and his thoughts. He simply doesn’t see the need to beat around the bush with most things. The world would be a much simpler place if everyone said what they meant instead of saying one thing and meaning another. He’s gotten into trouble more than a few times with this, but he’s also been rewarded a few times for his blunt nature. Rarely does he get embarrassed about the things he says, instead taking pride that he straight-up told the person what was up
Something doesn't smell right (Suspicious) Red has a hard time trusting others. He's learned the hard way (ie, abuse) that not everyone is what they seem and it's given him a distrustful view of the world. Gifts and the like are met with shrouded eyes and a wary countenance. It's unlikely that he'll accept 'just because' as a reason to give him something. In his mind, people always want something if they interact with or are nice to him.
Positive Lone wolf (Independent) Red likes to work alone. He's never been one who wanted to be in a large group or part of a crowd. If given the choice, he’d rather hang around one or two people he was comfortable with if he had to work with someone. The confidence he has in himself and the success he’s had in the past by doing things alone has helped him to assure himself that he can do things he otherwise might have doubted. He finds that he's better able to understand things and the finished product of any project is consistently better than when he works with others.
With other aspects of his life, he very rarely asks for help and only does so if the need is completely overwhelming. Relishing in the satisfaction and sense of completeness that doing things on his own gives him is one of the few truly happy things he does regularly. Being so independent himself, he dislikes it when other people want to rely on him for everything. He likes not having to depend on anyone or anything to get the job done. While he does enjoy hanging out with people, he doesn’t rely on them to provide entertainment or to seek him out. When he wants company, he finds it.
Hunter's silence (Quiet) From a young age, Red has been trained to stay quiet and not get in the way. So in most situations he'll sit back and let other people be the ones that get heard. This has nothing to do with his self-confidence, and the habit of not speaking unless spoken to is hard to break. He doesn't want to remain in the background, and would love to get noticed. He's trying to break this habit now that he's no longer under the care of his nanny.

Biggest wolf in the pack, baby~(Confident/Cocky) Here’s where his independence drains off into. He knows his limits and tries to top them, believing his way is the right way and not bothering to think about what others would do. It’s hard to cut his confidence down, or repress it, but if somehow it is managed, he tends to bounce back well. There’ve only been a few instances where he needed outside help to get back into the swing of things, and he doesn’t like talking about them. If he’s not actually feeling confident, he’ll feign it until he actually does. If someone brings up something he doesn’t know, he’ll go look it up so that he can have the knowledge to beat them with later. Patient hunter (Patient) While it isn't a mean feat to get him angry, he does have the composure not to get upset about waiting for things. In calm situations, or times where there'll be a long wait for something, he's content to pass the time until it happens.
Hobbies
Exploration - Red has always loved walking around and exploring the world around him. He hates not knowing how to get anywhere and will immediately begin to explore the area to get a feel for it. This constant need to know where everything important around him is stems from growing up in Apshodel. If you didn't know where you needed to be, odds are you'd end up lost and might get hurt Once he know the terrain, he'll pick out a few hiding spots where he can go off to be on his own. In addition to that, he needs to know every bit of 'his' territory to make sure nobody's messing around with his stuff.
Singing - This is a VERY secret hobby of his. He doesn't want to be associated with his mother, and his favorite things to sing are all songs that she's known for. They all tend to be very lovely eloquent pieces. He practices his singing very softly when he is sure nobody would hear. While he isn't the best thing since sliced bread, he's pretty decent. He will often hum or sing to himself while was out exploring, just to keep up with it.

Selene, Red's mother, was a cache born grimm and is well on her way to becoming one of the better known musicians of the time. She travels frequently on tours, indulging in flings with her fans whenever it suited her. Her band mates weren't pleased with that, but they let it slide as long as she doesn't let it affect her career. The first time she imbued a stone, the plan had been for the other half to take charge of the resulting child. Things didn't go as planned and Selene was left with an unwanted child. She had a house near Asphodel and left the child there, under the care of a nanny. She would come home to visit intermediately, always bearing gifts. The arrangement worked out surprisingly well, with Izuri attending a private school and growing up relatively mishap free.
One day, Selene came home with a second infant. She refused to talk about who the other parent was or why she had agreed to imbue a second stone. In fact, she seemed to dislike her second child more than the first. Izuri moved to the academy and Red was left in the care of a new nanny. The first one had had a child of his own and his life became too involved to help out with Red. The new nanny was less than enthusiastic to be tending to Red. She didn't particularly care for children and had taken the job for the good pay rather than any enthusiasm.
The new nanny wasn’t kind to him, as Red caught illnesses easier than his older brother. When she dosed him, she often gave him more than was necessary. There were plenty of spankings and other punishments when he stepped out of line or did anything she didn't like. There was never any evidence of any of his punishments when he told Selene, so he was never believed.
Slowly but surely his nanny managed to force him to be a quiet, shy little boy who rarely spoke and flinched whenever anyone raised a hand to him. Around the time she managed to accomplish it, Red started at school and Izuri had graduated to junior.
Red was a quiet kid, shy and frightened of his female teachers even though he was sent to an all-boys private school and they gave him no more attention than they did any other child. Often they would have to call Izuri down to help out with him. His classmates teased him for it, but Izzy on the other hand, took to his brother instantly. Though he was quite young himself, he helped to calm the boy and care for him. It wasn't long before Red depended on Izzy for nearly everything. Izuri became the sun in the sky, the moon and stars at night, and Red's entire world.
It couldn’t go on for too long though, once they started getting into the upper level classes they would call Izzy down less and less. It was an attempt to wean Red of him, and though he didn’t like it, Izzy let them. When Red didn't get any better, Izuri suggested they send him to a different school to see if it would help. The school doctor agreed and the young grimm was sent to the Academy at Apshodel.
Red has improved at the new school, but is still wary and fearful of females. He feels betrayed and alone in the new school. His demeanor hasn't earned him any friends, and at this point he's not certain he wants to.
The arrival of Kestral, and the other newcomers, have caught his interest. He adores Kestral and wants to go with him and learn how to be like him. The fact that there are more grimms, alive and surviving the war, excites him to no end. The first opportunity he has, he'll abandon his caretakers and try to leave with Kestral and the others. He aims to be the shaman of his very own pack however.
Racial Relations -Red doesn't particularly get along well with much of anyone, but that's his own fault. He's extremely wary of imps, because that was the race his nanny was, and he favors grimms above other races. He's more or less neutral towards other races, waiting to see what they're like before deciding one way or another how he feels about them. -Red is extremely proud to be a grimm and wants, no-- Needs, to know more about his culture. His nanny didn't teach him very much about culture, and neither did the boarding school he was at; he was the only grimm there aside from his brother. -He wants family to bond and be a pack with. Odds are his pack will become his family, regardless of bloodlines.
Enoch - Red isn't much into the arts, or long dead nighmares, so he picked Enoch. Not that he fits very well into his own house either. The sciences catch his interest, but not super deeply. He's more interested in trying to explore the world and find a spot for himself in it.

A smart-mouthed peer just told your Nightmare that they're a failure to their race. How do they react?
Red was peacefully working on a project on his own in arts and crafts. Everyone else had been grouped up and was chatting with their partners, but he'd wanted to work individually. Through a combination of pleading and whining he'd convinced the teacher to let him do as he pleased. Cheerfully he had gathered up his supplies and sat himself at a table away from all the rest of his classmates. Tail swishing gently back and forth, he was in the middle of gluing down a new shape to his sheet when he noticed another grimm watching him. He scowled at them before scooting so that they couldn't see his things without moving. The freshling had wanted to work alone for a reason! After several minutes of watching Red and trying to join him, the other nightmare finally spoke.
"You're a failure of a Grimm," the boy hissed from behind him. "What sort of grimm never wants to work in a group or work to make everyone happy. You're selfish and just work for yourself!" They continued on to say. Whipping around, Red growled at them. "I'm not a failure!" he snapped, quick to stand up and puff his chest out. "You're just not my pack!" His volume rose as he spoke, garnering the teachers attention. Thankfully, because he hadn't taken a swing at them, the teacher merely admonished them both and separated them again. Unfortunately, he got another lecture on how working together with others was a good thing and told that next time, he would have to work in a group. Red silently hoped that he would not be paired up with the other grimm in his class, furiously thinking on how to get back at them for this.

Personality:
-Why does he hate girls so much? I understand some people can just dislike a person for the most random of reasons, but I don't see anything in his backstory to support why he's such a misogynist. He doesn't appear to ever have been mistreated by females or have any real reason to hate them as much as he does.
- Vengeful: this trait seems nearly taken to it's most extreme measure. Why is he so used to everyone talking behind his back? Please be aware that he would be confronted by staff for his actions and it is possible he could end up in more trouble for all these "minor" incidents, up to and including expulsion. Please be aware that students who are expelled from the Academy will be frozen in whatever stage they attained. It's perfectly fine to have characters who want to push the limits, but this just seems a bit far.
- This trait sounds more like Possessive, and a negative not a neutral trait. Considering he's more like to just take what he wants, he's not much of a negotiator. I don't see how this trait works at all with people, because it's again possessive not neutral.
- Second Negotiate. This is manipulation and bribery. He's not going to be able to get out of group projects just because he doesn't want to do them with someone. The idea is to teach kids the value of working together, the teacher would be most likely to pull him aside and give him a lecture than let him go on his own. Teachers are also unlikely to accept bribery from a student who willfully misbehaves like he does. And the more he claims that people pick on him and don't, then he's also a liar. Why should a teacher believe anything he says or any motivation he has?
- Confident/Cocky: this is coming off as more of a negative than a positive. He's definitely Cocky airing onto the side of arrogance.
- Why would he be teased for singing? Even though he's in Enoch, students are encouraged to pursue hobbies and interests outside their house focus.
- Please be aware that people who are allergic to silver are more likely allergic to nickle.
- In the world of Below because people can easily choose how they wish identify gender wise, Homophobia is something that really doesn't exist. How would you classify a person who's androg after all, they could simultaneously be homo and hetro-sexual, depending upon how they identify themselves and their actual biological gender, so judging people based on their orientation is something that is very limited.
- Why is Red so victimized when no one seems to be making him a victim? He makes himself a victim. Not others.
Backstory:
- If there was something in here that explained his hate of women? It's just so key to his personality and explained nowhere.
RP Prompt:
- This is just a reaction shot. How or why is Red a failure? Usually there's some explanation of how the individual is failing their race be it in actions, attitude, or thought. Why would the other child be jealous?
Overall:
- Please consider reading over the revised Grimm Lore. Grimm are pack animals and the pack always comes first in everything. Lone wolf types will have the hardest time fitting in because, they must defer to someone else's judgement in nearly all aspects, because the Good of the Pack should be everyone's primary focus, not individual wants or needs.

TL;DR version: Add misogyny to his list of negative traits (maybe with an explicit explanation that it was the horrible "mother" figures in his life that turned him off of them), give him another positive trait, and get rid of the allergy to silver (I have some suggestions that could keep most of the meat of that allergy in place, though!). Other than that, he's looking good!

-->Likes and dislikes: I looked it up, and there is no such thing as an allergy to silver. The closest thing to an allergy to silver in the real world is an allergy to nickel--I have that and it's really frustrating (I can't wear any jewelry that looks like silver unless it is explicitly labeled "sterling silver," because that means that it's actual silver. If it isn't labeled as being honest-to-goodness silver, it means it's made with nickel, and that gives me a very bad rash). An allergy to silver doesn't make any biological sense, as Grimms are not werewolves.
Maybe Red thinks that he's allergic to silver, but it turns out he's allergic to something else? Or his nanny tricked him into thinking that he's allergic to silver?
-->Backstory: One small problem: all children whose parents belong to two different races are hybrids. If Izuri and Red's mother is a Grimm, then Izuri must be part Grimm. It could have been something subtle--like perhaps his other parent was an Imp, and his only Grimm features are his arms and neck fluff (both of which could pass for Imp features). But if Izuri's mother is a Grimm, then Izuri is part-Grimm.
