Domus Flau (ドムスフロ Domusu Furo) is a place located within Fiore's capital city: Crocus.

The Domus Flau is located in the west mountains of the Flower Blooming Capital, Crocus. It is surrounded by mountains and trees. City buildings, including residential houses, can also be found near the Domus Flau.

The Domus Flau appears to be a large, round, open battle arena that looks similar to a Roman arena structure, and has no cover on the top. It has numerous arches in its walls, and a large entrance. The Domus Flau also has four gigantic statues, each holding a staff with a big circle on top, which look like Roman warriors that face inwards, surrounding the Domus Flau. Four gigantic chains can also be seen around the Domus Flau; each starting from a circular metal in the ground around the Domus Flau, connecting to circles behind the statues, and reaching down another circular metal in the ground.

The interior design of the Domus Flau also similarly looks like a Roman arena. The arena, located at the center of the Domus Flau, is large enough to contain a town. There are three stages of the audiences' seats that are in circular form. The seats also have dividers with three arches in each, and four bigger dividers connected with the staves of the statues. Numerous arches can also be seen inside the Domus Flau which are just above the highest stage of the audiences' seats, and are connected with the arches outside. There are also hallways and rooms in the highest layer of the Domus Flau.

"There's not a second that slips, unnoticed or ignored."

"So many events that take place."

The Domus Flau. Regularly, it was used in order to hold the Grand Magic Games, something every guild looked forward to each year. But when it wasn't being used for this event, it was used by Mages to train in. Of course, this was only if they had the appropriate permission, otherwise they would be taken in by the Rune Knights. But it was rather fun to watch these Mages train, doing their best to get stronger for the trials that were in store for them. "Man, I remember those days." a voice spoke, rather whimsically. It was none of the mages training, but rather a mysterious looking individual sitting in the stands. And this man seemed to be the very epitome of mystery. He seemed to have come in from nowhere, becoming Fairy Tail's Guildmaster after the last one mysteriously disappeared. Many presumed that he left to go back to his home continent for unknown reasons, while other spread many wild and obviously fake theories. No one knew for sure what became of the man, and no one possibly would. All that was known for sure was that this man came in from out of nowhere and took up home in the guild. Though none complained, because he seemed to be powerful enough and leaderly enough to run a guild. Even if he had skipped over all the paperwork.

The male continued to watch the Mages trade magical blows with each other, testing their own strengths to see what they were capable of. This made the man twitch in anticipation, as if he were wanting to challenge the strongest out of them. "They all seem to be pretty powerful in their own right, though! Remember Verzweiflung, it's not their power, but their ability that makes them a worthy opponent." the male spoke once more, speaking a name that was likely his own. He slowly stood up, his own height easily overcasting the heights of anyone else currently here. A strange symbol which took up nearly his whole torso and the lower right part of his jaw seemed to glow, as if in anticipation of the one it was set upon getting ready to battle. He jumped from where he was down to the ground below, almost quietly, surprising the Mages that were down there. At first, he seemed dark and intimidating, his eyes shadowed by his hair, Though once the wind blew, that guise was gone, and in its place was an obviously happy and cheerful man, just looking for something to do. "Yo! You guys mind if I join you with your training?" he asked, showing off a huge smile. Little did they know what sort of power hid behind this rather innocent looking smile.

The other Mages looked over the male a bit precariously, but they just seemed to go along with it, seeing as the man didn't seem to mean them any harm. Even though he was dressed as if always prepared for battle. "Sure, why not. The more the merrier, right?" one of the Mages said, getting a hearty laugh from the man. "Man, I like this guy already! Alright, let's train!" the male exclaimed, punching his fists together and releasing some celestial energy from them. This caused a bit of fear to form on a few of the Mages' faces, and gained the attention of the others. "A-Alright... I'll... uh, I'll gauge your power, so... just deliver a blow at me..." the Mage who had agreed to let the man train with them said. He walked over to stand a few yards away from the man, getting into a defensive position. The man nodded, holding up his right fist as more celestial energy gathered around it. "Celestial Dragon's... Fist!" the male exclaimed, delivering the punch towards the Mage in front of him. Had the other Mage not moved, he likely would have been obliterated (accidentally) by the incredible amount of celestial energy which poured forth, blowing out part of the Domus Flau and spreading across a part of Crocus. "Oh... whoops. Guess I forgot to use less power out of excitement!" the man proclaimed, laughing and scratching the back of his head. Though the other Mages just had a look of fear on their faces.

"Time's like an eternal keepsake."

"Holds all the good memories."

Leaning against a wall at the edge of the arena shrouded by the shadows, avidly watching the many mages practice with each other, the talk figure of a man not so eager to socialise stood quietly. These people, they were all so carefree. He wondered if they knew they were being observed. Boredom coupled with slight curiosity had brought him here. What new talent was blossoming in Crocus? And could he find someone to have fun with? Maybe there was a pesky fairy or a tiger hanging around. He should be so lucky. They were more fun that anyone else regardless of being a pain. Right now, he couldn't burst in. People knew his face. Or more accurately, they knew the face of his counterpart. He was the one that more often ventured out. That savage was someone no one chose to cross. Not unless they had a death wish or didn't mind coming out of a sparring match bleeding everywhere.
He sighed deeply, getting tired of watching the same attacks being used over and over.
"Get some variety, why don't you?" he muttered to himself, "I'd flatten them in two seconds and that's not worth my time. Come on, there has to be someone who...," he paused. The blood mage's monologue request was answered before he could even finish his sentence. The sound of metal clunking against the ground drew his attention back to the arena. An extremely tall man, taller than even him, had stepped into the action. He had a strange aura around him, one the bore a powerful magic energy signal. Raine shifted to get a better look. The guy looked like he was from another world, clad in peculiar armour that was open at the chest and upon his bare torso was a symbol. He couldn't tell what it was. It didn't seem to be a guild mark, not one he'd ever seen anyway. And it was glowing. The man's cheerful and friendly demeanour was a telltale sign he was a light mage. Disgusting. Raine's nose crinkled and his lip curled up in contempt. Just what the world needed, another powerful enemy who could potentially get in his guild's way. However, this didn't discourage his now growing desire to jump into the match.
He listened in as one of the others asked the newcomer to send a blow his way to test his strength.
"Idiot," he scoffed. Any mage, novice or experienced, should be able to feel his strength without optionally taking a hit, "This'll be funny."
As the armour-clad wizard bellowed his spell, the dark wizard's eyebrows raised in surprise. A celestial dragon slayer? His momentary shock was replaced by laughter as the force of the attack cracked the earth and sent the people around the light mage flying backwards.
The urge was too much. He couldn't sit on the sidelines any longer. Raine stepped into the light, clapping slowly in mock applause,
"Well, colour me impressed. Who'd have thought a celestial dragons slayer would be so spectacular. I thought someone like you would be all stars and sparkles, not meteors and explosions," he said, coming to a standstill a few metres away, "You're powerful. I wonder how many sub magics you have tucked away in that ridiculous armour of yours. I think we should f... ugh," the blood mage suddenly struggled to talk, hunching over for a moment with an unseen strain before laughing, "Wow, someone wants out." His golden eyes glanced back up at the light mage, "As I was saying before I was so rudely interrupted, think we should find out what you've got. I love a challenge," he grinned menacingly, feeling something or rather someone starting to boil to the surface. Maybe, just against this man, he'd let himself go. But for now, he'd see what he was facing. Grabbing a small knife from his pocket, Raine slashed his forearm and swung it across in an arc in front of him. "Blood Slice," he smirked as blood spurted out at high velocity from the wound before coming together to form several foot long scythe-like blades that shot towards his opponent.
For all he knew, this could be a huge mistake, but he couldn't deny himself a thrill.

"There's not a second that slips, unnoticed or ignored."

"So many events that take place."

Verzweiflung was distracted from the multiple Wizards talking to him by the sound of applause. It was soon followed by a voice of one that sounded rather condescending. The male turned and crossed his arms, looking down at the Mage with a look of confusion in his eyes. "Of course starts and sparkles are a thing. But space is made up of much more than just that." the male replied, smiling and nodding his head. He hadn't realized the other Mages that were slowly backing away, as if to hide behind him, as he kept his focus on the Mage in front of him. Something about this kid bothered him, but he wasn't exactly sure what it was. It was as if the other man was supposed to be an enemy of his, but he hadn't made any enemies yet so far as he knew. He shrugged this The uncomfortability off as the kid continued to speak. He seemed to be continuing to praise the male (Verzweiflung) before he seemed to hunch over, as if in pain. "Hey kid, are you okay? There's no need to try forcing yourself." he said, though it sounded like he muttered something. Something about someone wanting out? The other male suddenly became much more cautious, as if his fears of earlier were coming to light.

"Are you really sure you're okay to fight? There's no need to force yourself." the male said again, keeping his eyes focused on the kid in front of him. He narrowed his eyes as the boy reached into his pocket, as if grabbing for something, before managing to pull out a knife. What does he plan on do- the man's thoughts were cut short as he foe cut his arm, causing it to bleed, before swinging it at Verzweiflung. Verzweiflung acted in an instant, aiming to protect those that were still behind him. No way could he let them get harmed if he jumped out of the way. He moved both of his arms in front of his face, as he began to chant something, ending with him saying "Clipeum Parma!" and causing large, sliver, god-like effigy to fall in front of his, creating a shield and causing his opponent's attack to hit it instead. Verzweiflung sighed, walking out of the shield as he instructed the other Mages to stay inside of it. "Well, that wasn't a bad move. If I wasn't focused on protecting the others I wouldn't have acted as I did." the male said scratching his head. He looked up at the effigy and nodded, before turning his attention back to his opponent. "Alright! My name is Verzweiflung och Förtvivlan mit viel Betrübnis und Melankoli, the new Guildmaster of Fairy Tail! And I'll be your opponent today! Celestial Dragon's Roar!" the male exclaimed, giving his name and identity before releasing a large burst of celestial energies from his mouth at such force that it tore up the ground beneath it.

When news of Fairy Tail's new master had spread to Era, there was a great upset. There were rules and procedures to be followed for these sorts of things, that weren't followed in this case. When the Chairwoman of the Magic Council is receiving word of a change in leadership by the whispers of the people, it really didn't look good. It made the council seem as if they were incapable of doing their job. The people relied on the Magic Council to maintain the order of magic and if matters such as this were happening without their knowledge, how well could they promise to protect the public? Rei had to get a handle on this immediately and straighten this mess out. She was well on her way to Magnolia; however, her assistant Bethany had intercepted information that the man in question had been seen in Crocus. So far from his guild, what had brought him there? While not strange enough to warrant suspicion, Rei was keeping his guard up. On the way over, the councilwoman read up on a few more documents concerning the previous guild master, wondering if their disappearance could be related in anyway. Considering none of Fairy Tail's members reported him, she could only assume the accept him for one reason or another. "Just who is this man..." she mused aloud, biting her thumb. Very shortly, she would find out.

Alas, both the Chairwoman and her assistant had arrived in the Fiore capital; the younger woman summoning her Archive and tapping away furiously. Rei preferred a natural setting as a opposed to bricks and mortar. Yet, Crocus was an exception, with it's beautiful architecture- Mercurius being the big eye catcher. The air here wasn't so bad either, considering it was a city, prompting the red eyed woman to take in a deep breath. "Just one moment, ma'am. I'll find our guy in two-" Just then, the bespectacled assistant would give pause to the very loud explosion coming from over yonder. Almost everyone around had cast their gaze in the same direction - Domus Flau. With frown, Rei would shake her head. "I can't help but feel we may have found him..." The two would make their way to the arena with haste, winding their way through the coliseum until they stood in the spectator seat. From across the way, they'd see the large gaping hole first; the damage leading to the group of people in the center of the arena. And among those people stood "that man" or at least someone who fit the description. Before she and Bethany would head down, another individual stepped forward and challenged the man to combat. This redhead was a very strange and peculiar one in the way he carried himself. "I can't make out much of what they're saying... Umm, are they going to fight?" Bethany asked her boss. "It looks like it. Let's see what happens for now." Aside from the redhead, the one he challenged also seemed quite bizarre and strong. And though it was a little hard to hear, she could clearly hear his declaration: the new Guildmaster of Fairy Tail! Well...he certainly acted the part. Rei was not too surprised; however, she would watch and observe his actions before confronting him.

Raine smirked as the other mages backed away from him, giving them all an almost predatory glare as they hid behind the stranger. He felt a sense of pride in their reaction to him. He loved the superior feeling it gave him.
Standing straight, the blood mage huffed a laugh at the celestial dragon slayer,
"Oh, I'm just dandy," he replied, amused by the man's concern but irked by the way he'd been addressed, "Kid? Really? I'm twenty not two." He grit his teeth in annoyance as the stranger once again questioned his capacity to fight, "Shut it. I'm not forcing myself. Don't comment on things you know nothing about," he snapped.
Raine golden irises filled with excitement as some of his blades tried to bypass his opponent to hit the mage's hiding behind him. He didn't particularly do it on purpose but the darker entity within him compelled him to do more than go for his main target,
"Oops," he chuckled. He could feel the disappointment his other side had when the slayer created a brilliantly shining barrier around himself and the others, preventing the blades from reaching them.
Upon stepping out from the shield, the man proceeded to vaguely compliment Raine's attack. He didn't seem as fazed as most people usually were when witnessing his magic for the first time. This man was clearly experienced with odd magics and was hard-pressed to surprise. The blood mage would have been annoyed with the lack of fear he'd inspired were it not for the man's introduction of himself.
"What kind of name is that?!" he asked rhetorically, a condescending smile on his face. It was so bizarre it had to be made up. "So it's true. Fairy Tail really did get a new master and what a sight you are. I never thought they'd hire a human glow stick to represent them. So fancy." Admittedly, a part of him wasn't sure whether to be concerned about who exactly he'd just picked a fight with but a bigger part of him felt a huge thrill, "You know, I heard the last one upped and left because he wanted to find a more powerful guild to lead. Or is that just a wild rumour? Seems believable to me compared to the other nonsense I've heard."
No sooner had he insulted the new guild master, Raine found himself in the line of fire of a dragon's roar. As the ground ruptured, the blood mage dove sideways to avoid it and rolled across the floor. He laid on his back, laughing maniacally,
"That was close." He hauled himself up and brushed the dust off of his expensive clothes. Running his fingers through his crimson hair and flashing a pearly white smile, he grasped his knife and ran it down his forearm, making sure not to hit an artery, "Since we're doing introductions... I'm Raine Valentine. S-class in the guild Siren's Curse... and part-monster," he said, deciding not to give away any of his true nature to this light mage. He lifted his hand as the blood pooled into his palm and concentrated. The fluid slowly lifted from his hand, forming droplets that levitated for a moment. "Blood Bullets," he grinned, sending the marble-sized hardened spheres shooting towards Verzwei-whatever it was.

"There's not a second that slips, unnoticed or ignored."

"So many events that take place."

The older male placed a hand on his hip as the other male began talking back to him. Apparently he didn't realize just how great of an age difference there was between them. In all honesty, he was easily comparable to a two year old if being compared to Verzweiflung's true age. But, there was no real need to bring that up. He brought a hand up to scratch his chest when the other male seemed to be trying to make fun of his name, but could easily this was likely a trick to try and get him riled up. He wasn't entirely too sure as to why he would be doing something like this though, since there was no real need. Though he did raise an eyebrow when he was referred to as a "human glowstick" and began to talk about the last Guildmaster of Fairy Tail. "I'm... I'm sorry, but... is human glowstick the best you can come up with? That's not even close to an insult! Man, I was hoping you'd be a lot better at this, but I guess I was sorely mistaken. And as for the old Guildmaster, well... he had other things to take care of. Not that a kid like you would understand, though." the male replied, smiling happily and referring to his opponent as a kid once more.

Admittedly, he was surprised that his opponent- "Raine Valentine" as he had introduced himself- had managed to dodge his attack. So instead of hitting the male, it instead destroyed another part of the Domus Flau. "So... a part of Siren Curse, huh? That sounds familiar, actually. Isn't that the weak dark guild that managed to get its original base found because of the actions of two of its Mages?" the male asked, speaking loudly enough for anyone nearby to hear him. At least then he would have back-up as to who he was fighting. He also felt the aura of another powerful figure enter the area, but didn't direct his attention towards them. He didn't want his opponent getting any smart ideas about trying to harm any other innocent civilians. He narrowed his eyes as the male cut his arm again, causing more blood to leak from it. Only an idiot wouldn't have guessed that he used Blood Magic by now. Though he wasn't sure if it was just a base version or an altered one. Though he wouldn't have much time to linger on this as blood shaped bullets came his way. "Requip: Earth Revolution, The Strength of an Earth Titan!" the male exclaimed, two large, rather giant fists appearing on either side of him.

The fists were both silver, and had a metallic appearance, with yellow lines running through them. Both seemed to be controlled by gauntlets which were located on Verzweiflung's hands, changing shape to match whatever motion he was doing with his own hands. "Iron Curtain!" the male exclaimed once again, digging these fists into the earth and pulling up a thick, large chunk of earth in the shape of a wall. One of the blood bullets had managed to graze his right arm, but he paid no mind to the small wound, focusing on the enemy in front of him. He soon lowered the wall of earth, rotating his shoulders. "Man, didn't expect to bring something like this out so soon, honestly! Then again I'm more offense than I am defense with my Slayer Magic..." the male muttered, praising Raine before getting lost in his thoughts for a moment, before shaking his head. "Well, I think there's someone here who wants to talk to me, so I gotta make this quick. I apologize in advance. Gigaton Smash!" the male exclaimed, dashing forward rather quickly and aiming to grab Raine with the right fist. Should he succeed, he would proceed to jump up into the air with Raine, before slamming him back into the ground. Of course this wouldn't kill him, but it would hurt like hell. If this attack missed, then he would likely try and smack Raine into the wall with the first instead.

[[OOC: 'Tis fine. Also, I put in two separate attack scenarios if you want him to take a blow. I'll let you choose which one.]]

Raine hummed an almost charming laugh,
"I could have called you a lot worse but I'm not one to use words in the place of violence. Why hurt your feelings when I can just hurt your body, right?" he said, using a tone as if he were asking an ordinary question with no malicious intent behind it. He quirked an eyebrow at Verzweiflung's half-assed reasoning for the disappearance of Fairy Tail's last guild master, "Other things... right... of course. Would that involve getting as far away from the fairies as humanly possible? I wouldn't blame him. Just looking at most of them makes my skin crawl. The other light guilds are no different. They're all too..." He wanted to say 'too happy' but for anyone but himself and a few other darker individuals, it wouldn't seem like a good enough excuse for him to feel sick at the sight of them. So instead he kept his mouth shut on that subject. Luckily enough, Verzweiflung changed it for him by insulting Siren's Curse. He was already irked by being called a kid again but to so casually diss his guild... "Weak? Not really," he replied, narrowing his eyes, "Well, I guess we do have some weak members but what guild doesn't? I tend to deal with those though. Sometimes they go missing," he smiled.
Rolling his eyes, the blood mage was unimpressed that he had to once again hear of his guild mates' incompetence,
"I heard about that but I wasn't around for it. Too bad, I heard it was a great fight. I missed the opportunity to tear off a few sets of wings," he sighed dramatically. He didn't particularly care for his guild. It was a means to making a living through jobs but he had no friends, no connections and he couldn't have cared less if some of them got their asses handed to them. That was their fault for underestimating what the light mages were capable of when they banded together. "I guarantee I have very little in common with those fools. Unlike them, I know when to give people credit for their power instead of ignoring it and assuming I'm better. That being said, I still like picking fights." His golden eyes were lit up with anticipation.
Raine couldn't bring himself to be disappointed that none of his bullets made more than a single scratch on his target, he was preoccupied with how much more interesting his opponent was becoming by the minute,
"Well, you are just FULL of surprises," He exclaimed with excitement, "You might actually hurt me but somehow I kind of don't care," he said, too thrilled at the idea of facing off against someone so powerful to worry about his own wellbeing. His facial expression became smug at Verzweiflung's comment on not thinking he'd he'd need certain spells so soon in the fight, if at all, "Should I feel honoured? Or should I say "you're welcome"?" he asked, his ego not-so-secretly getting a boost.
A new wave of energy, one that didn't belong to Verzweiflung, entered the arena and Raine's eyes flicked up for a moment to survey the origin of the power he felt. He couldn't take on two high-class wizards, even he wasn't that stupid. However, he didn't feel her presence was a reason for concern yet. He was suddenly rushed by the guild master, who grabbed the front of his shirt, ripping the seams as he was forced back. He could feel his feet lifting off of the ground. That certainly wasn't a good sign.
"Capillary Net," he reached out and long thin tendrils of blood formed a net-like form that shot into the ground. It seemed to stop the ascension but the velocity wasn't affected and the net easily snapped as Raine was rocketed backwards. As his spine hit the wall, the wind was knocked from his lungs and he was sure he blacked out for a moment. The blood mage slumped to ground, gasping breath and coughing up blood. As he lay face-down for a moment, he wondered if anything was broken. He shifted, maybe a cracked rib or two but that wasn't surprising. Deciding against his better judgement, he slowly began pushing his weight up on his arms, groaning in pain as he settled on his knees. His face, hair and clothes were covered in dust, "You've got a hell of a grip. Unfortunately I really liked that shirt so I can't let you go just yet," he panted, starting to stand. He was unsteady on his feet to say the least, light-headed from the impact with the start of what was going to be a damn big headache. He stepped towards Verzweiflung, running his hands along the two self-inflicted wounds on his arm, ceasing the flow of blood for now.
He stopped again several metres away and shuddered, visibly straining again,
"No, not yet," he gripped the side of his face, forcing the voice in his head away. He wasn't done. He wouldn't back down. He glared at Verzweiflung, his eyes focusing on the large man's body. "Heaven's Eye: Accuracy," he uttered, the pupil of his right eye glinted, honing in on the Fairy Tail guild master before flinging his hand out, "Shadow Tangle!" he yelled, sending ribbons of shadow out to wrap around his target. His other hand swung upwards, causing a wave of shadows to erupt from the ground, "Shadow Pulse!" he shouted. He grinned menacingly. He hoped his Accuracy would allow even one of his spells to hit, but even if that wasn't the case, he'd at least prove he wasn't a pushover. Though he was starting to feel worn down by something else. Something other than the drain on his magic energy creeping to the surface.

Verzweiflung clenched his fists (yes, all four of them) as he watched to see what would happen with Raine. The kid had tried his best to keep from taking too much damage from Verzweiflung's attack, but it didn't do too well for him. He had hoped it would make Raine want to stop fighting, but of course he wouldn't be that lucky. "You're not going to be able to keep this up for much longer. Though at this point I'm beginning to doubt you realize this. I have yet to begin using my most powerful attacks or spells. But if you push me to that point, your chances of survival are very, very low." the male said, getting rid of the giant fists and gauntlets on his hands. He had hoped the Dark Mage would be deterred by now, but he said something about his shirt, and how he couldn't "let Verzweiflung go" just yet. If it weren't for the other Mages in the shield still nearby, he would've just left now. Instead he just crossed his arms, watching to wait and see what the male would do now. It seemed as if he was fighting against the entity or whatever it was that was inside of his body. Though Verzweiflung was still curious as to what it was. Although he didn't have much time to ponder on this, as the male tried to attack him once again. "Very well..." the male said, getting into a battle stance.

The first thing he had to do was take care of the attacks coming at him. Even a trained Mage such as he wouldn't be able to keep up with everything coming at him all at once. So he had to use another one of his Magics. He closed his eyes for a second, and when he opened them once more, they seemed to change, as if reflecting a night sky. "Frozen Time!" the male exclaimed, everything seeming to become frozen... at least in his eyes. In truth, this Magic caused his perception to be heightened to extreme levels, allowing him to view everything happening in his immediate sight as if it were all frozen. The male smirked, closing his eyes once more and opening them, revealing they were back to normal. "Requip: Sylphystia, The Winds That Shall Lead the Way!" the male exclaimed, fourteen beautiful, green and gold blades of different sizes appearing to hover behind his back. "Stratasheidl!" he called out, hovering slightly into the air as a shield of wind appeared around his person, countering Raine's "Shadow Tangle", and allowing Verzweiflung to focus on the next attack.

He held out both of his hands, his palms facing towards Raine, causing both of his arms to seem to transform into another person's. Light began to gather between them, slowly growing in size. "Luminous Cannon!" the male exclaimed, causing the light to grow even larger and shoot out along the ground, clashing with the "Shadow Pulse" that was coming from the ground.
Both of his arms then returned to normal as he stood there for a second, looking Raine over. The male would likely be distracted for a few moments from those few attacks, which meant he only had a few seconds. Celestial energies began gathering in his right hand, as he began to clench it harder. He then, in what seemed to be the span of only a couple seconds, closed the distance between himself and Raine, winding his arm back. "Celestial Dragon's Starry Fist!" he exclaimed, sending his first flying towards Raine's stomach. Although he had weakened the attack, so that it wouldn't outright blast a hole through Raine's stomach, if it hit.

[[OOC: Ah, four Magics/Spells combo attack. I hope I used those counters correctly and caused Raine to become even more scared. He still has a chance to dodge, if he's lucky or quick enough.]]

Raine felt light-headed and nauseous but he didn't want to give up. Were he in the right frame of mind he might have swallowed his pride and even shaken the guild master's hand as a respectful forfeit. But his control was slipping and the laughter that left his mouth wasn't his own,
"Would you really care if I didn't survive? I am just a dark wizard after all. I don't matter to you," he said with a tone that suggested he was disregarding his own life.

Raine wiped the blood trickling down his chin with the back of his hand as his attacks flew towards Verzweiflung,
"Take that fairy scum," he muttered.
After throwing so many spells at the guild master, his confidence was boosted. Surely once his Shadow Tangle got hold of him, he'd get at least one hit in. Life could grant him that much at least for his efforts. However, he hadn't banked on the celestial dragon slayer's otherworldly speed. It was almost as if he'd seen all of Raine's attacks coming. A burst of wind dispersed the shadowy ribbons and the force blew him back slightly, the ripped parts of his shirt flapping in the gust. Almost within the same second he heard the cry of another spell being cast and a bright light engulfed the area in front of him, swallowing his Shadow Pulse before it even got within four foot of his target.
"No way... h-how? My spells all... they all got deflected," He'd never seen someone retaliate so quickly before. This guy wasn't human, for sure. Raine subconsciously took a wary step back as the dust was settling from the explosion that stopped his last spell. In his weak moment of panic, the voice in the back of his mind took hold, allowing a different persona to enter the forefront of his brain. His ordinary self became locked within concrete walls, viewing his actions like his body wasn't his own. Blood Raine was in full control and he couldn't have arrived at a more physically devastating time. The less forgiving side of him not only hated others more but cared even less for his own welfare and as Verzweiflung came rocketing towards him and pulled his glowing first back to deliver a powerful punch, the reckless blood mage swung his own arm back in retaliation, bending to meet the Fairy Tail guild master's fist with his own. A sickening crack followed a pain that shot up his arm jarred his entire body. The bones crumpled and the skin tore as the limb was broken and almost completely torn from his body. Blood Raine disappeared in an instant, leaving the 'normal' Raine to feel the full effects of his mistake.
He hit the ground rolling, blood trailing his pathway, coming to a stop on his back, dazed and in shock. He panted with shaky exhales. It seemed he'd truly taken things too far. Regardless of knowing this was an injury he could semi-heal, he could still feel the agony as any other person would and he whimpered slightly as he placed his fully functioning right hand on his barely-attached left arm, trying to focus on stopping himself from bleeding out before doing anything else. This was going to take a long time to fix,
"I didn't... actually expect... the... ugh... the guild master of Fairy Tail to... happily do this... to even... ah... to even a dark guild wizard," he said between heavy breaths and interjections of pained vocalisations. He knew a huge part of this was his fault but he felt Verzweiflung deserved some blame. The light mage must have known that last spell was overkill. The strain of using his magic to merge together the smaller pieces of flesh caused Raine to cough up more blood but he persisted. The larger chunks would survive for a while before being fully reattached but these needed to be healed before the tissue died.
He could feel people's eyes on him. Judging him for his foolish actions. Some he could see smirking. The blood-crazed serial killer from Siren's Curse finally being given what he deserved. A lot of people would be taking about this. The saddest part was, he was starting to feel that was true. He really shouldn't have allowed Blood Raine to take hold, not for a second. That mere moment he took over was his undoing. He would have been hit with Verzweiflung's attack either way but perhaps if he hadn't tried to counter it so stupidly, he'd still have an arm instead of having to lay on the ground like a wounded animal, bleeding everywhere whilst on-lookers were happy to watch him struggle.
"So pathetic. Not a single hit. Maybe I am weak," he uttered to himself, closing his eyes to concentrate.

✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯

From the streets of Crocus, Octavia could feel a rumbling beneath her feet. There hadn't been an earthquake warning so it could have only come from one place. Looking up she could see the looming silhouette of Domus Flau. Someone powerful was up there and it sounded like they were having a wail of a time practicing. The energy moved out in ripples and the celestial wizard could feel it even from where she was standing. It was irresistible. She had to know who it was.
She sprinted to the arena, panting by the time she got to the main training grounds. The action seemed to have come to a halt and there were people muttering and gathering around a certain area,
"Huh? What's going on?" she asked herself, stepping out. She scanned the crowds, her emerald eyes coming to rest on the tallest man she'd ever seen. He was quite a sight, long silvery-white hair and a chiselled face made him easy on the eyes but she was easily distracted by the fact he was covered in armour that protected everything except his chest. That was completely bare apart from a large tattoo of an unknown symbol. Magic energy rolled off of him like a waterfall, as though there was so much that it was overflowing from his body. This was definitely the guy responsible for the spells that rocked the streets.
Moving to get a look at what the other people were gawking at, she side stepped through. What she saw wasn't what she'd been expecting. A man was laying on the ground, blood pooling around him,
"Oh my god!" she exclaimed, rushing over to him. She gasped. She knew him. She would know that face anywhere, "Blood Raine...," she said, staring at the sorry sight in front of her. His arm was in tatters, bone splintering in different directions. His eyes were closed and she could see he was focusing on trying to heal some of the damage.
Octavia turned to look at the powerful mage she'd spotted before,
"Did... did you do this to him?" she asked, dropping her backpack on the ground. She grit her teeth and stormed over to the incredibly tall man, fists clenched and glaring up at him, "What the hell is wrong with you?! I know he's a psychotic freak with some mental issues but was there any need for that?! I could feel your magic energy from the city streets and but not his so you clearly knew he was out of his depth! I hope for your sake you were stopping him from going on a genuine killing spree because if not, this was entirely unnecessary!" she snapped, swinging her foot to kick him in the shin and wincing as her toe collided with the metal guards which annoyed her even more, "Alongside that, my conscience won't allow me to just leave him there so now I'm going to have to patch the b*****d up and get him help because you couldn't control yourself. Shame on you!" she shouted, kicking his shin again but this time with the hell of her foot before growling and walking away.
She knelt beside the shaking blood mage and dug through her bag for her first aid kit.
"And you are no better!" she scolded him, violently stabbing his arm with a painkiller to take out her frustration, "Will you not just allow me to hate your dark, intimidating, evil guts and not compel me to waste my supplies on you just because you're a wildly irresponsible idiot who picks fights he can't handle, hmm?" she asked rhetorically, sliding an arm sling carefully underneath the torn muscles that were just about still attached in order to gather them. This wasn't the first time the two wizards had encountered each other and it also wasn't the first time she'd done first aid on him but his injuries were much much worse now, "This is disgusting. You need to go to the hospital. Now. Get up or you'll get kicked in the shins too and you're not wearing armour," she stated angrily, tying the fabric around Raine's neck to hold the pieces together. She didn't want to help him, not really. He'd done worse to innocent people but with everyone else in the arena just standing by and bad-mouthing him, she'd felt pity on his soul.

"There's not a second that slips, unnoticed or ignored."

"So many events that take place."

He hadn't really expected to feel that sudden burst of dark energy. But he knew that sort of energy anywhere. It was that of an Etherious, which meant that the other entity he felt within Raine was- his thoughts were suddenly interrupted by the loud, sickening sound of cracking. Apparently he hadn't pulled back his power enough, and had caused his opponent's arm to crack seemingly all throughout, before making it fly off. He truly hadn't meant for that to happen, but it seemed that it might've been the only way to make the fight stop. Blood splattered throughout the arena portion of the Domus Flau, creating a dark red trail following after Raine and his now severed arm. The mortally wounded male seemed to be trying to put it back into its socket, which oddly seemed to be working rather well... for the most part, at least. When Raine spoke of what he did, Verzweiflung just glared at him. "I may injure and horribly maim, but killing should only be used as the last resort." he replied, turning to face away from him. Were the other male still in fighting condition, he wouldn't have done this. But even with his persistence, he was sure that this "Blood Raine" was down for good... for now.

He could hear the people jeering at and talking about Raine, but they all seemed to still be too scared to approach him. That was good, because it meant that the male would have time to leave before people tried to swarm him. He held up a hand and removed the shield that was protecting the innocents, before getting ready to leave. But before he had the chance, a new female came upon the scene, expressing her worry for the tattered male on the ground. Though she soon decided to turn her anger to Verzweiflung, telling him off before trying to kick him in the shin... which of course failed, considering the armor he had on. "Do you not see all of the other Mages in the vicinity? He came up and challenged me and, if I hadn't accepted and just left, I'm sure he would have tried to kill them all. I didn't plan on doing this to him, but sometimes things don't work out as planned." the male replied, keeping his calm. There was no reason to go off on a young Mage just because she scolded him about maiming a Dark Mage and tried to kick him in the shin. Although he was mistaken about her worry, considering how she then proceeded to scold and talk to Raine. Shaking his head, he turned and walked out of the Domus Flau.

From the stands, the head of the Magic Council watched on, eyes unwavering from either mage. Her assistant stood beside her, anxiously waiting to see what would happen. It seemed they had their work cut out for them today; an unregistered guild master and a member of Siren Curse, the infamous Dark Guild that still plagued Fiore. Things could get bad very quickly and Rei considered intervening again. But she saw the self imposed guild master defending those behind him while fending off the dark mage. If anything, it showed he at least had a heart and consideration for the well being of others. "Miss Rei! What...What should we do?" Bethany asked, concern in her voice. "Nothing just yet. Look..." The man used Blood Magic, a very unusual magic but not unheard of to her. It was a magic that had risks, but was powerful enough to warrant use for some. His opponent on the other hand used a plethora of different Magics, in particular, the Eighteen War Gods and Celestial Magic from what she could make out. And unless she was mistaken, he carried quite a few units on him as well. A mysterious man indeed...but she would get to the bottom of his mystery.

The fight would soon conclude with the "Fairy" sporting off a number of spells and finishing with a powerful punch. Unfortunately, the redhead male had answered with his own fist and what would result in a sickening crunch that could be heard all the way where the women stood. "OH MY GOD! OH MY GOD!" Bethany screamed, completely in a panic now. Rei remained calm for all but three seconds before shaking her head. "I'm heading down" she would tell the brunette and before getting a reply, the Celestial Spirit Wizard had jumped down from the stands. Quickly forming barriers would catch her steps and she walked down normally to the site of battle. Bethany on the other hand...opted to take the real stairs. By the time she made it to Raine, the large man had already fled, much to her annoyance. He was the one she came to see, after all. "Such a mess..." the woman sighed, again shaking her head in disapproval.

For now, she needed to deal with the injured dark mage he'd left behind in this state. "Gate of the Fox, open!" she recited and with a flick of her wrist, a woman would appearing with a flash of light. Sporting a pair of furry ears and a tail, she yawned and stretched, appearing to have come from a nap. "Vulpecula, I need you to treat this man, please" Rei asked, gesturing to Raine. The fox woman took one look at him and a sly smile appeared on her face. "Oh my! Rei, you shouldn't have! You know I have a thing for redheads...and blondes...and brunettes...oh and-" "Vulpecula?" "Right! Right! Of course!" The Celestial Spirit skipped over to Raine's side with his badly damaged arm. Kneeling beside him, she would hold her hands over his injury and summon white orbs of fire to ignite it. Despite being fire, it would feel warm and soothing to the touch. Slowly but surely, his arm would start to mend itself back to normal. While Vulpecula handled the injured, Rei was dealing with the angry jeering group of people. "That's enough! Dark mage or not, the Magic Council will not condone murder or the mistreatment of others, no matter their crime. It's our duty to treat everyone justly and to be better than that which threatens our society. I will see to it that he's punished accordingly." Her words caused some of the clamoring to die down, but the whispers and mumbles persisted. Oh well, it was good enough to stop any acts of violence. Rei then turned to the girl who took the blood mage's side and tried to help him first. With a warm smile, she would ask "Young lady. What is your name? How do you know this man?"

As Raine lay on the ground he grit his teeth in fury. The jeering and snarky comments were affecting his concentration. The arm wasn't attaching properly. Through the crowds chatter, a higher-pitched voice sounded out. It was familiar but he was too busy to look up. He'd want to die of shame if it was one of his guild members. The last thing he needed was someone who would most definitely spur on the crowd. But when the shadow of the person cast over him, he glanced up. It was her, the pipsqueak from Sabertooth; Octavia Kane. She spoke his name with a look of horror on her face.
"No, just regular Raine right now," he grumbled, unimpressed with her presence,, "Why must you show up when I'm like this?" he asked. This had happened before. She disappeared from his sight for a moment and he could hear her shouting at who he could only assume was Verzweiflung. She was an insufferable do-gooder and being honest, he'd passed up the opportunity to kill her several times because he just couldn't. She reminded him of someone but he couldn't place it and it stopped him every time.
When she returned, he could see the anger on her face as she scolded his behaviour. Again. He growled in pain as she drove the needle of the syringe into his mutilated shoulder and ignored her whilst she gathered what was left of his arm.
"You should go. You don't want Sabertooth being associated with Siren's Curse just because you can't handle seeing people suffer. Just leave," he said, "If you want to hate me, just do it. I've attacked you before and yet you try to show me some kind of ridiculous mercy. You're stupid," he snapped. The celestial wizard appeared to be ignoring his insults and when she stood up and demanded he walk himself to the hospital, he lay staring at her. "I... I can't," he uttered. The blast had literally rendered almost his whole body temporarily useless. He couldn't sit up let alone stand.
Just when he thought things couldn't get any worse, the second powerful presence he'd previously felt arrive appeared close by. She seemed disgruntled at the situation and he felt some of it wasn't just on his behalf. In a sudden flash of light brought forth the familiar magic circle that he recognised as a gateway from the celestial world.
"Fantastic. Just what I need," he growled. As if Octavia wasn't enough of a pain but now there was another celestial wizard. All of them seemed to be too kind for their own good. The fox girl, Vulpecula as she'd been called, moved to his side. "I don't need your help," he snarled, trying to move away from the fox. He didn't want help. He didn't want to owe anyone or be grateful. He hissed as the raw exposed flesh scraped on the hard grind, ceasing his movement and giving the spirit the opportunity to work on him. He shuddered but kept still.
He watched the woman as she spoke to the crowd. It was almost embarrassing being treated nicely. Though it wouldn't be nice for long.
"Punished? Like hell. I'm not going to prison," he stated. He knew what would happen. The Magic Council were aware of his record of instability which meant he'd be locked up in a cell for crazies whilst he slowly fell deeper into madness. Quite frankly, that idea terrified him. He didn't want to be caged like an animal again, ever. "I'll take execution over that," he uttered.

Thoughts: "It's really her!"

✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯✯

Octavia was horrified with the man's response, "That's what he does! He challenges strong people! My goodness, if he was going to go on a killing spree he wouldn't have said a word to you, he would have just started cutting people down, you a**!" she yelled at the man as he left. She almost felt silly shouting to defend the dark wizard but it was in her nature to defend people in their time of need, evil or not. "Shut your mouth, Raine," she snapped back, not willing to back down and step away just because he was having a tantrum about being helped, "Well, maybe if I didn't keep finding you like this, I wouldn't have to risk my reputation. Ever think about that?" she asked.
The celestial wizard heard the footsteps of someone approaching. She stood and whirled round, thinking it might be someone coming to deal out more injury to the blood mage. Instead she found herself looking at the last person she'd expected to see. He heart fluttered and her stomach flipped. Rei Mikaboshi; not only a legend in celestial spirit magic but a council member and a wizard Saint! She watched in awe as the woman summoned the fox spirit, Vulpecula, who started work on Raine's wound almost immediately - much to his disgust - and swiftly dealt with the crowd before turning to her.
"Y-you... you're... Rei Mikaboshi... I..." she stuttered, blushing furiously, "My... uh, my name is Octavia Kane! And yes I do know him" she said in a rushed tone as if wanting to give the councilwoman answers as quick as possible, "He's... Raine. Raine Valentine. He's an S-class from Siren's Curse. I don't know him well but we've met a few times. Actually, I've... I've met both Raine's," she spoke her last sentence very carefully and quietly so the dark wizard wouldn't hear her, "He's got kind of a split personality and sometimes he can't control it. That's what he told me anyway. I think that might be what happened here. His other half, Blood Raine, he never wants to stop. If he was in control, he'd probably still be fighting until he lost his other arm too." She gave the dark wizard a pitying look. He wasn't right. He'd never told her much of his story but no doubt it was an awful one, "I've never seen that look on his face before. He looks scared of being out in prison. Are you really going to lock him up? Isn't there another way you can deal with him? I know he's dark but I think he just needs help, not a cell," she said., "S-sorry. It's not like I'm friends with him or anything! I could never be with someone from Siren's Curse but... I don't think it's his fault he's like this," she sighed. She wasn't sure how much of a difference saying all this to her would make. After all, Octavia wasn't any kind of law enforcement. Looking back at Rei, the flush returned to her face "Can I just say... I... I'm a huge fan of yours," she uttered "I actually use celestial spirit magic as well and I read all about you when I started in Sabertooth and, well, you're kind of my role model," she beamed.
