User ImageThe white wild dog had had his leg freed from the rocks by the pink lioness and he had started travelling back towards home though he admittedly was moving beyond slowly. It wasn’t going to be easy. He had a dull hope that perhaps another pack number would stumble upon him. Perhaps another Terétisma coming out this way on their way to one of the allied packs. If only there was another friendly face to be seen. Letting out a great sigh Cirocco dragged himself under the shade of a tree. He hadn’t made it far from where the rocks had trapped his leg, in fact if he turned and looked he could still see the sight of the injury from where he settled now. He was a little worried that the trip home would take so long that he would miss his pack not making it to them before the nomadic group went on the move again. He racked his brain of all the places that they would go. Would it be better if he went to the healer pride and waited for them there. Cirocco knew that the pride was an ally of the Aérastouvíos would eventually come along the pride and find him there. He worried that he would be there a long time missing his home and the other members of his pack. The more the wild thought about it though the more he realized it really was the best choice for him. They would be able to heal his leg for him better than anyone else.

Kuma stretched out the pride had moved and the area they lived in now had all sorts of resources for them. The peach coloured lioness wasn’t use to having this amount of water and food available to her. The lioness had lived in a drought for the majority of her life. Kuma was out in the rogue lands she had originally come out with the pretense of hunting but now she found herself simply exploring the area. It was quite nice to see all the shade of green that the lands around her held. She hadn’t been wondering long when she spotted movement under a tree. She moved closer wanting to see what was there and saw the white wild dog looked like he was injured. It wasn’t easy to watch and the maternal side of Kuma kicked in, she moved quickly towards the injured wild dog, wondering and hoping there was something she might be able to do for him to help.

“Hello.” she said gently not wanting to startled the injured creature. She was sure that he already felt vulnerable, and rightfully so as there was a lot in the rogue lands to be scared of.

Cirocco startled a little when he heard a voice so close to him, he hadn’t been paying attention to what was around him, he had been to focused at finding a comfortable way to settle, this leg was really starting to be a nuisance. “Hello” he answered in return, he tried his best to look big and not like prey, though it was hard to do with a clearly injured limb. He was thankful that the lioness didn’t seem to be threatening, most of the time if someone was going to kill you they didn’t start by greeting you first.

“I uh.” Kuma stumbled on her words a bit. She wasn’t really sure what to do now that she had said hello to the wild dog. “I was well do you need help? Can I do anything for you? Are you okay?” She eyed the wild dog. She wasn’t sure what she could do for him but she would do anything possible. “Maybe I can help you splint it, do you live close? What did you do?” the questions stumbled from the lioness’ mouth in quick succession.

Cirocco blinked a couple of times when the lioness flung all the questions at him. “I hurt my leg, beyond that I am okay.” Cirocco started there with that question. He was an upbeat creature by nature so even though he was in pain he found himself with a smile on his face. He had quickly lost track of the questions though, it was hard when they came so close together and so quickly. “I don’t know if you can help? Can you make a splint?” Cirocco asked, he thought that this was something that would help him a great deal. If he could stabilize this damn thing then maybe the trip to Nil would be way easier. “My leg got trapped on some rocks and I am worried it’s broken. I know of a pride that is full of healers and I just need to get there for them to help.” he told the lioness.

“Yes I think I can make a splint.” Kuma said with a smile she began looking around for supplies that she knew she would need. She had never made a splint before but she had seen them made before and she was pretty sure she could do this. It didn’t take her long though to find everything she needed. She came back to him towing a thick branch and some vines. It wouldn’t look pretty but it should help keep his leg steady and allow him to walk on it at least till he got the pride of healers he was speaking of. “I am sorry this won’t look great but it should help you walk.” Kuma told him quickly before she got to work.

Cirocco stayed as still and as quiet as possible while the peach coloured lioness worked away. Every once in awhile she would move his leg and she would cringe with pain, but he kept his suffering silent, the lioness was helping him and he didn’t want her to feel bad for anything that needed to be done. He was impressed though she worked fast and before he knew it she was finished up with the splint. “Thank you.” he said a smile still on his lips.

Kuma took a step back and was pleased with her work, she could tell already that the branch would hold the wild dogs leg nicely. “You are welcome, listen I am going to go catch you some food and then I will let you go on your way. But I want you to eat. There is no way that you are going to hunt on that leg even with a splint.” Kuma didn’t give him time to argue, she knew the feeling of being hungry and knew that she didn’t want him to feel the same. She gave a quick nod before turning and walking away. She would find him a hare or something easy so that he could have a quick meal before he went on her travels. Kuma was very happy that she happy that she had stumbled upon the male wild dog and had been able to help him. It had given meaning to her day.
