Gender/Pronoun: He/Him
Age: 17
Birthday: May 8th 2008
Fav. Food: Barbecue, anything on the grill
Hated Food: Gravy
School/Occupation: Knightside Azure Valley
Hobbies: Sports -- Cross Country in the Fall and Baseball in the Spring, Elliot likes to stay active and thrives in a competitive setting. He likes to push himself and even if he isn’t the best, he has fun and is supportive and encouraging of everyone else. Cross Country gives him the opportunity to go outside and appreciate nature and someone’s always got hot dogs during his baseball games. He has no aspirations to play professionally so this is purely for enjoyment of the sport.
Debate -- Elliot loves to argue and this is the perfect place to put up a good argument without getting anyone in trouble. He gets very passionate and puts in time and effort to do thorough research, and he loves to practice. He likes the challenge and the duality of needing to be prepared before a debate and needing to be able to think on your feet.
Outdoors -- Destiny City has plenty of parks, and the mountains aren’t
too far away. Elliot likes to spend his time outside exploring and appreciating nature. He loves visiting the reservoir, swimming, hiking, and camping whenever he can get the chance to. When he can’t get out of the city, he spends time in the park and always takes a little time every month to clean up any litter.
Virtues: Resourceful -- Elliot is clever and quick to solve problems and come up with a plan for difficult situations. He is determined to find solutions and doesn’t give up easily. He is capable of working independently and in a group setting. He is hardworking and ambitious and always pushes himself. He is also a fast learner, and is both clever and adaptable.
Confident -- Confidence comes easily to Elliot, who is quick to believe in his abilities and those around him. He thinks he’s a good judge of character and situation and approaches most situations with the expectation that they’ll turn out all right. He rarely falls to fear or doubt and is sure that if he applies himself and tries hard enough he can succeed at anything.
Friendly -- Elliot was raised to treat everyone equally and give them the best version of yourself. He’s willing to give everyone a chance and always does his best to be friendly and welcoming. He can be playful and mischievous but he always means well and tries to leave people in a good mood. He's comfortable around strangers and does his best to make sure everyone feels included.
Empathetic -- He cares, a lot. It’s easy to put himself in the shoes of others, and Elliot tries to look at things from other perspectives so he can live his best life and make sure others can, too. He is compassionate and wants to make sure those close to him are looked after. He is considerate of those around him, whether he knows them or not, and will go out of his way to fix what he can and make people feel better if he has the ability to do so.
Flaws: Idealistic -- Elliot genuinely believes in the potential for a better world and wants to be part of creating it. His ideals can sometimes cloud his judgment, making him frustrated or disheartened when reality doesn't match what he believes people or situations should be. His hope that others will make the right choices sometimes lead to disappointment; just because he is willing to give someone a chance doesn’t mean it was the right choice. He doesn’t want to give up on anyone or anything. He doesn’t believe in failure, but his dedication to pursuing his goals can sometimes lean into a sunk cost fallacy.
Ambitious -- He holds himself to incredibly high standards in everything he does, and as such he has very lofty goals. Failure just doesn’t seem like an option. While this pushes him to succeed, it also makes him deeply self-critical and uncomfortable with failure. Elliot doesn’t like letting others down, and when things don’t go exactly right, he tends to take it personally and push harder to get it right next time. He has strict morals and expectations, so it’s a difficult and stressful uphill battle. Elliot is always aiming higher; just because he reached one goal doesn’t mean he can slow down, and taking a break feels like giving up. He must always be moving in the right direction, and if he’s made a mistake he has to work doubly hard to make up for it.
Overcommitted -- Elliot has a hard time turning anyone, or anything, down. Driven by a desire to help and make a difference, he takes on too many responsibilities at once and sometimes skips out on taking care of himself in the process. Whether it’s school, sports, clubs, or the people he cares about, he’s constantly balancing too much, and it leaves him stretched thin more often than he’s willing to admit. He needs someone to make sure he slows down and recharges every now and then.
Self-Sacrificing -- Elliot will always put the needs of others ahead of his own. He has faith in his own abilities, so often overextends that in his effort to be a source of strength and support, especially for the people he loves. He has a lot of faith in his own abilities so this means that he’s quick to exert himself on behalf of others. He’s resilient and expects to bounce back quickly, but his overconfidence in himself means that he doesn't know how to step back even when it’s hurting him.
