Hello Project Catwalk!
This thread is geared towards answering some burning questions you may have.
Be sure to check out the Introduction thread for some standard FAQs, but I know
that doesn't cover everything. So that is where this thread comes into play! The
judges will be posting things here when they see a need, or just when there is a
best practice thing to be shared with everyone! But this is also a thread where
you will be able to post if you have questions. heart

How to Scale Images while Maintaining Quality

During the competitions many designers like to upsize their images this can be very appealing and if done right show off the detail in the design.
This guide will show you how!

In these images I am using Krita as my program its a free editing program if you want to get it.
If not other editing programs will have similar options!

First save your finished design to your computer. Don't just copy and paste the image in that can drop the quality.

Next you're going to open the file in the program.

Then crop the image.
Technically this is optional you can submit all poses of a design, But be warned this typically isn't going to go over well with the judges.
Showing all the poses is going to highlight layering issues and its very distracting.
Best practice is to pick one or two poses that show off the look best!

Next you will go into the Image menu and select Scale Image to New Size

Finally select the dimensions you plan to scale the image to.
Make sure you link the dimensions so you don't distort the image. Then select filter I use nearest neighbor.
I also set the resolution to 100 pixels per inch.
Now save the image and you have a scaled image that maintains the quality. No more blurry images!

Another option is https://www.photoenlarger.com/ This will follow a similar chain of selections Choose image, then scale percentage, download "Nearest neighbor (no smoothing).

Happy Scaling!
