When Aruna had seen the posting initially, she thought nothing of it. Who wouldn't want to go visit other worlds and wonders, after all? But the name attached had caught her eye at the last moment, recalling Mason having spoken about this person quite often. Joyeuse Garde. It wasn't like Aruna to reach out to someone she hadn't met, regardless of it being within her own faction, but she couldn't deny that she was curious about this person. So she had made contact, and they had agreed upon a time and place to meet up to go to Aruna.
The transcendent senshi of landslides had arrived early, unable to help herself in her anxiety and eagerness. She waited patiently at the little park for Joy to arrive herself, looking around in hopes of seeing her as she approached. From what she had been told, this was an Earth Knight and she sounded to Aruna like she had a solid, logical head on her shoulders. Definitely someone that sounded good to have in their ranks, in her opinion.

Had Joy been aware of Aruna's prior knowledge, she might have been divided somewhere between smug pleasure at being known and vague annoyance at it being via the medium of Blarney, whom she found slightly exhausting at the best of times. She arrived in all her usual questionably-earned glory, and certainly she had an air of self-possession that seemed to indicate a good head on her shoulders. Whether this was earned either was in truth also questionable, but she would have been pleased to prolong the opinion as long as she could. It was probably assisted by a handshake that was both professional and friendly, and a smile that exposed both dimples and the kind of straight and white teeth that can only be bought with a great deal of financial investment. She looked like a queen and had the bearing of a competent professional, and then immediately opened her mouth and - as she often did - complicated the general impression. "This ******** fake-out Autumn," she said cheerfully. "I hope it's cooler wherever we're going. I'm gonna buy stock in Unilever the way I'm burning through deodorant. Thanks for having me," she added.

Aruna groaned and gave a little laugh. "It's brutal isn't it? Thankfully where we're going is primarily underground and definitely a lot cooler than this. It's been a life saver for me lately, that's for sure." The cool stone walls of the Necropolis had been such a delightful refuge to retreat to, and the pool beneath it all even more so. "You're alright with going to a Necropolis, right? Not that you'd see any bodies or anything, but there's still plenty of graves and all of that." The first time she herself had set foot on Aruna, it had deeply shaken her when she came unprepared for such a thing. "On the bright side of that, though, there is a lake underground beneath it all, and it's quite the pleasantly cool temperature as well."

Joy thought, not without a grim sort of wryness, of Aaru's Wonder and the conversation she'd had there. "Doesn't bother me in the slightest," she said calmly, giving her a little thumbs up. "Got a couple of carcasses kicking around on the Garde, too," she added, and if that thought did make her sick, it had less to do with their being bodies and more to do with whose bodies they were. "And I've done both mass graves and underground lakes on Wonders before, so I feel," she said, sounding very cheerful, "very well prepared. Ready when you are."

Aruna smiled brightly, set at ease with the knowledge that Joy wouldn't be bothered or unnerved by her world. In a flash, she brought them to Aruna and seemed to sigh in relief as the cool marble-like walls of the receiving chamber surrounded them. In the rock of the walls, little glowing veins of crystal helped illuminate the room in addition to the glowing crystal sconces and the lantern that Aruna walked over to light. Turning back to Joy, she smiled proudly. "I've been working on exploring the various chambers, and I think I have most of them mapped out by now. Was there anything specific you wanted to see or look for? If not, I'd be happy to show you the more prominent places I've found?" She was admittedly a little anxious and wanted to make a good impression on the knight, and also wanted to be a good host. "So far, I've been working on looking through a room full of records and also a small library that I think was the previous Aruna's personal one. Aside from that, there's a meditation chamber that was used pretty often by her, and there's a lake underneath everything with lots of plant life and some interesting creatures." So far, all she had been able to see easily were the glowing moths, but she had noticed something scurrying around last time she came that was just always a little too fast for her to catch.

She was looking about her with sharp, quick eyes, observant and watchful, as if busily making mental notes. "By all means, give me the tour of what you'd like someone to see," she said. "And I'll ask a few questions, if you don't mind. I like to learn," she added, gathering up her skirts in one hand as she prepared to follow with the demeanor of a gracious visiting dignitary. "If this is a necropolis, did it - if you know - serve primarily just to receive remains, or was Aruna in some way involved in the - I guess you'd say the psychopomp part of it all?"
