7th September
The only shopping Sara grew up used to was the quick visits to the very few convenience stores down the road from his old school, the small stores in town, and the delivery van that comes in his parents cafe in 5:15am in the morning of a working day. In a fishing village, big malls that he'd seen in magazines and TV was more like a faraway fantasy. And it continued to be when he went to boarding school. But that changed when he started to visit his then-friend now fiancee, all the way in Tokyo. The bustling city wasn't kind to the overly sensitive man in the beginning. It had the crowd, the buildings, the tension and the noise that his village never faced. It was awful.
It was Ginyami that made possible for that to remain in the past. A common thing that happens in their particular dynamic. It all simply became a lot more tolerable if Ginyami was around. At some point in their life, Sara feared that he had become too dependent on him to feel okay. Seeing his presence as a constant reassurance that everything would be okay. It was their first break-up that proved otherwise. Not that Sara was eager to let his mind wander back to that difficult era in their lives. But he could be thankful. If it weren't for that, then maybe they wouldn't have been as close as they are now. Moving to a whole new country together, living together, and raising a cat together.
Sure it was wonderful to be apart of Ginyami's life. Still, his reliance on him had shifted from when he was a anxious boy just looking for validation. He loved his fiancee, and therefore - a lot of things that he used to dislike, whether it be shopping, or plants, and such - suddenly was a wonderful activity that reminded him of someone that is so dearly important to him.
That didn't mean he didn't have to be prepared for the bright lights, colours, and noise that was going to face them when they went shopping. Today he either looked like he was planning a burglary, or a popstar trying to hide from the crowd. Which was frankly, somewhat similar to his usual wear. A dark black jacket covered his white T-shirt, a cap that hopefully covers his intense stare just enough, and nothing but a fanny pack slung over his shoulder casually to keep important items in. He tried not to carry much with him. Fully prepared to carry all of Ginyami's shopping bags carrying items that caught his fiancee's eye.
Their shopping list wasn't that strict. Some new clothes. Some groceries they could bring home. Definitely some cat supplies. And if they were lucky, they'd find some plants or furniture that catches their eye. They stepped into the mall past the automatic glass sliding doors and took a few seconds to just glance around the scenery.
Sara didn't last long, with the bunch of colorful advertisements and bright light. Instead he looked at a much nicer sight that soothed him immediately. " Is there anything that catches your eye so far?"
