Locked off areas:

tab i could've let someone else handle the puzzle so i could group up with people/add people to my group and figure out where the best place for me to help would be
tab locked off areas are where all the good stuff is, probably, and also probably a lot of the bad stuff
Group battlefields:
tab people will sort of automatically group together with people they know, rather than what makes sense for what abilities people have
tab taking a minute to plan before rushing in can be really helpful so everybody has a job and a job they can do well
tab it's really easy to be a liability instead of a helpful presence ): i could've gotten my friends hurt because i was dumb. i hate that.
tab it won't always be super obvious what kind of attacks will work on stuff. machines aren't the demon chickens from a couple months ago. that means that my stick won't always be a good/effective/helpful weapon ):
tab tab which also means until i get magic i should probably stay out of the way in those situations. or at least like, be okay with being support and watching all parts of the battlefield in case someone really does need help or needs to be pulled away or the bad guy needs distracting or someone needs healing (even if i can't heal i can take them to someone who can, if there's someone like that around & i know that they're there - again gotta like, make sure everybody knows what everybody can do before we start - i can take them to that person, or protect the healer)
tab other people's minds do not work like mine at all. i never would've thought of performing open chest surgery on the robots. there's a lotta ways to beat a bad guy, i guess
tab mostly i think we need way better communication. maybe it's cause i'm new and i didn't know half the people that showed up but like. does everybody just remember what other people can do in their heads? like oh yes you're this person which means you can do this thing. for like 30 people or whatever? is all this planning stuff i'm talking about just like second nature to people who have been doing it forever? should i just shut up and follow someone else's lead? if so whose lead because like. everybody just did their own thing, sorta, so i also did my own thing and it worked the first time and really did not work the second time so kinda mixed bag of results on that front ):
