Another night out with Hedwig, something that he still felt was being done begrudingly by the other. It bothered him slightly, if only because it made working on things from the ground up to get a chance with them exponentially more of a pain. With the fall air also signalling a break from his live-in position, he decided to bring along a few of the extra chocolate bats he'd made. Though these ones had a surprise that the others he'd made hadn't had. Each one had a flavoured liquor in it which matched the carefully designed sugar lace on it. While they looked delicate, Rafayel had been proud of how well he had tempered the chocolate so that even the hot sugar hadn't melted things as he finished up the designs. Offering one to the other as he walked, he was always gnawing on one filled with Cointreau. "At least it seems spooky out. Surely you can lighten up a bit."Part of him wondered if this was just their default state when faced with magical responsibilities, another part wondered if dosing them with some xanax might calm them down. But with Desiree keeping an eye out, that option would more than likely be frowned upon. Something did catch the light ahead, though, enough that it drew Leitner's attention. So once the treat was out of his hand, he bent down to pick the item up, confused as to why it was there on the ground next to another before he realized the shift in atmosphere.

"The weather is better, it's cooler." And this time of year wasn't bad really, he could go home for Christmas if he wanted, though the one downside was the new college semester. As much as he wanted his old life back, the acess to things returned, he also knew he needed to deal with college for that. Once that was done, and he had his spot in the family returned, Hedwig was planning to return to France. Escaping this city, this life, so he could return to family and friends and everything he was used to. This was a temporary thing for him.
Taking the offered treat, chocolate was always a good thing, and nibbled on one of the bats wings slowly. "Spooky is good, though things happen in this city I've noticed." Since he hadn't been born here, unlike the other, he was certain they understood what he meant. He wasn't as familiar with some aspects but he knew this city was strange and things happened which shouldn't. People vanishing in piles of leaves and turning up elsewhere, weird colored freckles, he'd heard it all. Nothing too dangerous, though some things boardered on that, but it all seemed normal and people continued on as if it was nothing new to them. So he figured while he mentioned it he didn't need to warn the other, they were from here and grew up with this chaos.
While coming up to the others side, wondering what had grabbed their attention, Hedwig was surprised when they vanished. "Well s**t, Dessire isn't going to be happy with this." Neither would Liam. Damn it, he really didn't want to go jumping into this s**t, whatever it was, but figuring he didn't have much of a choice he grabbed the other dice.
Landing on a square he took a moment to collect himself before looking to the other. "This is exactly why I hate this magic thing, I should just avoid it all and remain indoors." He couldn't hide, Dessire would no doubt track him down...if Aloysius didn't first. But he would very much like to not commit to all of this.

With a tumble, he ended up on his a** on the ground, and the die that was in his hand had escaped and clicked against the ground until it landed with one pip facing up. It took him more than a moment to figure out what was going on, as it felt like something was shoving him forward, not really caring if he was ready to move or not. "Shitshitshit what the ******** is this Hedwig?" Calling out, as he ended up pushed through some sort of invisible wall that stung more than a little. Trying to reach out back towards the other, since obviously they had more of a clue, as they were just talking about magic and weird stuff. This wasn't cool, especially if they were doing this since he'd taken a few pokes at them with his comments. But before he got too far with that plan, he heard someone laughing and spun around to look for them. Empty air. Nothing there. "What?" Another look around as he then spotted the die and snapped it up, looking at it to see if it had a speaker or some s**t in it. "This isn't funny, what's going on?"
The last thing he wanted was to be laughed at, and with that creeping feeling of being watched, he was liking whatever this was even less. Quote: Space 1: You feel eyes upon you, and hear a faint chuckling, like you’re the butt of someone’s joke. It sets a bad mood for the rest of this game; you’re already being judged–and, it looks like a long road ahead.

Space 2: Something pale and ghostly slams into your back; you don’t see it, but it feels like it’s trying to push you forward–or to the side, or off the path. Thankfully, the magical glass walls stop you from going too far, but this is jarring–and might hurt. While the other was being pushed forward, by some strange force of magic, he shook his head as he bent to collect the die that had brought him here. When he'd landed it had slipped out of his grasp, having stumbled upon his landing, his hands moving to catch himself if he did lose his balance, the die was picked up slowly as he viewed where the other was.
"This city is full of magic, especially this time of year, I've learned that fall and winter are pretty ******** up. This is part of it, but I don't know about this." He didn't know a bit about this, he would need to reach out and ask Aloysius or Dessie about this. Because while he understood, and knew about this cities holiday insanity, he did not know about all the things which could happen during the holiday season. As much as he wished to avoid al lthe magical nonsense, and the war, he still lived in this city and so he should finally at least learn more about this all....much as he didn't like the idea.
"Just...be careful. This is magic and while things aren't real...I have a feeling they can hurt, but not kill, and not everything is going to be real - just remember that." He said, hoping to give some comfort. He didn't know why, not really, but he did care and want to give some advice and show some care for the other. He was going to need to take his own advice, and he knew it, as he was being pushed as well. Die in his hand as his feet started moving...to the second space. While it was some progress it wasn't enough, he'd rather get this all over and done with quickly. Once he stopped, the pushing feeling stopping, the senshi of adoration stood there silently. Soon tapping a foot...bored almost.
"Did I, or anyone, mention what my sphere is?" He questioned, wanting to try and fill the empty space with noise...because he didn't like this silence. Air pushing out of his lungs suddenly, as something slammed into his back, his hands went out to catch himself as he hit the ground with an oofing sound. Cursing in French as he lifted his face from the ground. "I have a feeling we are going to leave this with some bruises."

Staring in disbelief, he took a moment to think if he'd maybe put too much liquor in the chocolates. That idea passed quickly since he knew they'd leak if he had. Sighing as he looked again for whatever was here, he gave Hedwig a look as they passed through his square and stopped just ahead, not even trying to stick together. Crossing his arms over his chest, he threw the dice and grumbled as it shoved him past the other again and further ahead. "I feel like Catty should have said more about this s**t." Dragging his feet as it finally stopped pushing him, he gagged at the smell. It was worse than when something was left out in the kitchen to rot, and he pulled a hand over his nose to try and stifle the smell. "No, neither of them did, but Desiree let me know to give you some space if you did something since it's broken or something..." As he turned back to look at them through the darkness, he thought he saw something shift, and he went to pick up his die again to roll it. "Nope. Not today, whatever this is." Quote: Space 4: Something smells rotten. You can’t see very far into the darkness, but if you squint closely a dark form seems to be dragging itself along the ground. Sometimes you see a pale hand almost close enough to grab you–or, maybe something does grab you. It’s cold, and frightening, and it’s trying to drag you out of bounds.

Sometimes you see a pale hand almost close enough to grab you–or, maybe something does grab you. It’s cold, and frightening, and it’s trying to drag you out of bounds. Total 4 "I doubted she omitted it on purpose. It seems things are a toss up this time of year. Things always happen, yes, but what happens seems to change year to year. From what I've gathered, hearing people talking about the upcoming season, there is an ever going list of options for what can happen." Which seemed a bit nerve wracking if you asked him, not knowing what may or may not happen, and having all manner of thigns going on...some simple tricks and other things like this.
"Good, because I'm not sure what my magic does for certain. I haven't had to use it really, and it is broken." Not that he much cared, he was in no rush to fix things, it meant having to be more dedicated to all this nonsense. Rolling his dice as he spoke he eyed the spots showing and huffed a sigh while moving ahead, grabbing the die up off the ground as he moved.
"Adoration, that's my sphere." Which was why he did not want to hit anyone with his magic by accident, or otherwise really, he didn't want to know what it might do. Stopping on the same square as the other it took only a moment before he was gagging and his hand was coming up so he could pinch his nose, as if it might save him from the smell. "Oh god, this smell." His voice was muffled, as his nose as pinched closed, and he sounded amusing really. If not for the bad smell it might be worth laughing over. "Something died, it smells like death - or worse." But there was nothing here...but holy s**t the stink. This smell could kill something...or bring something back from the dead and kill it all over again - he was certain of that.

Surprised that the other complaining senshi was in the same square as he was, it was hard not to laugh at the mention of what their magic did. "So like a love beam? Wow..."
At least that might not make him feel like something was crawling under his flesh. It had been a constant when powering up, but so far, he hadn't seen any actual bugs. Maybe it was all in his head. "Guess the faster we roll, the faster we get to go?" And with that, he let the die drop to the ground and decide where he was getting shoved next. It wasn't pleasant being hurried along like this, but if it meant he was going to be four more squares closer to the end, then fine. When it finally stopped shoving him, he stung all over from whatever barrier divided each little square of ******** you. At first, nothing seemed wrong, at least no gross smell, but when he stepped forward, something moved over his foot, and he shrieked in surprise. Whatever it was got startled back by the noise he made, and the next thing he knew was that he felt something burning through his boots and making the skin of his right shin itch and burn. Quote: Space 8: Something slithers across your foot, so fast that you might have thought you imagined it. Except, a few seconds later, it happens again. And then, again. Snakes keep moving across your space. If you move, they see you–and they might bite. Some of them hiss, some are capable of spraying a poisonous liquid that can cause itchiness or burning.

Snakes keep moving across your space. If you move, they see you–and they might bite. Some of them hiss, some are capable of spraying a poisonous liquid that can cause itchiness or burning. Total: 8 "I doubt it'a beam." But he didn't deny the other bit, in part because he wasn't entierly sure. How could he know what his own magic did and what it felt like? It was his magic and so he didn't know, he hadn't suffered it. "And love and adoration are two different things." To adore someone did not mean to love them, at least as far as he considered the two words, they were not the same though they could both be applied to the same person they did not have to be. Someone did not need to love someone in order to adore them...and vice versa.
"Yes, I imagine that would be how things work. The faster we reach the end the sooner it magics us out..." At least he hoped it would magic them out, or in some way provide them an escape, but maybe it wouldn't? Who knew. This was magic and he wasn't familiar with this.
While the other was moving, leaving him, Hedwig was stuck dealing with the nasty smell, and something which was coming his way fro mthe sound of it. It was something dragging,or crawling? Did it matter which it was...it was something against the ground moving. Before anything could get close to him, he didn't want to know what it was, he was throwing his die and watching as it bounced off the wall and rolled along the floor...towards the sound.
Going to grab the die he caught sight of...a hand maybe? Done with that, more than done, Hedwig was moving his a** to the square the die wanted him to get to. "Pushy ******** thing." Complaining, because when wasn't he complaining, as he glared at the little die in his hand. It looked innocent..but he knew better. Stopping on the square he turned his pale eyes onto the other. "Now what just happened ti have you sounding like a banshee?" Because it was best if he knew...though he had an idea soon enough. Something thick, and heavy feeling, moved across his foot.
"Great...I hope it can't eat us."

Listening to them explain the semantics of love and adoration, he wanted to say something back, but his focus was on whatever was going on as he scrambled for and threw the die again. "I don't want to find out if it can eat us, but it got me, and I don't want to look!" At this point, he let it push him, now heading much further ahead than he'd gone in any roll before. Looking back, he stumbled and fell backwards as the ground beneath him seemed to bend under his weight. With another yelp, he looked around and saw webs. They stuck to parts of his uniform, and he scrambled to tear off what was too stuck as he tried to get up and find somewhere to roll the dice again. Something was coming; he could hear it, and if it was a spider that could make a web strong enough to hold him, he didn't want to find out if it had a taste for humans. Quote: Space 14: The ground is sticky. You land on this and immediately dip, as though you’ve stepped on a trampoline. Close inspection reveals that you are standing on an intricately woven web–and your shoes are stuck. And something is skittering just on the horizon.

Space 12: The smell of smoke is in the air. You can’t see what’s burning, but you can hear distant screams, and–carnival music? It feels like people are running past you, and the air fills with panic and alarm–but there’s nowhere for you to go, and the smoke is so thick. You’d better roll quickly so you can get out of here. total: 12 The others words weren't wrong, to get out of here fast before a snake decided to try and eat them. Who knew if one was big enough to do it, he wasn't keen on finding out. That in mind Hedwig went to grab his die, on the ground, and when he did a serpent moved across his hand...hissing as it went. He could hear the hiss, loud and long, a warning and his hand jerked back. Lucky him - he had the die in his hand. Tossing it he nearly kicked a snake in order to find the die and see what it had landed on. Something wet was on his arm and at first he thought nothing of it, he hadn't felt a bite, but that changed soon enough.
Biting his lip in pain, the burning at his wrist and down his hand, his fingers trembled as he moved quickly. He needed to be somewhere safe, time to look over his hand, it felt like it was burned but he'd felt no heat. As he arrived at, what he hoped was a safe square, he took the time to look at his hand. It was clear, nothing indicating a burn, yet the skin felt burned.
While he stood there, inspecting his skin, he found a faint smell entering his nose. Smoke? Sniffing more, taking deeper breaths, Hedwig took the time to look around. "Burning...." But there was no way, not really. This was a small sapce, it had a size, there was no smoke in sight and no way to get smoke passed the glass surrounding him - right? So it couldn't be from somewehre beyond this gameboard...somewhere he couldn't see. But this was magic...so maybe it was possible?
He had to keep reminding himself of both things - this was magic and also that things weren't always real. Some things were a trick of the mind, a game played on the mind by magic. But when he heard screams and music, something you'd expect in a horror slasher movie, he felt his stomach drop and knot up as his nerves decided to act up finally. s**t.
The smoke was no longer just a smell but it was filling the air and when he threw the die, wanting to escape, he had to drop to the ground to find it...because smoke went upo and you could see if you were at ground level easier. It took time but he found the die...and hopefully not too late. Because he could feel panic setting in and a sense of urgency.

As the spider webs bowed beneath his feet, he managed to fling the die to hit the very slim edge of the square where it could actually land. At first, he wasn't sure if it had worked, but then he felt that push and hurried up to grab the die before moving again. With the skittering behind him, he was almost glad that he was out of that square. But when he made it to the next one, regret was the first thing on his mind as he choked on the hazy air here. "Hedwig! Help!" Groaning as he stumbled forward blindly, a panic rose up as he saw the black and green signs of something rotting and decaying. A whimper came out as he cradled his arm to his chest, even as he gagged more on the haze and saw sections of skin and muscle melting away and falling to the floor. "Somebody...." Seeing the bone below, it left him stuck and staring at it as the decay continued. Nothing around him really broke through the sight of his own body falling apart. Quote: Space 18: You smell something poison, something noxious. You pass through a haze of strange, green gas as you enter the square, but it fades after a few seconds. You feel cold. You feel empty. You start to decay. Maybe a part of you knows it’s an illusion, but in that split second when your body feels like it might go limp and when you look at your hand and see skin melting. You see bone. You’d best roll the dice so you don’t wind up a skeleton prop for the next player.

Lifting his foot resulted in it being yanked back down. Something sticky had a hold of his feet and soon it had a hold of him in general. The struggle was real, and likely not a good idea, he was certain things were made worse but could it really be helped? He was in a bit of a panic and trying to get himself free.
"I'm a bit tied up right now, I can't help." He said with a roll of his eyes, as if the other might see such an action, he was certain the eye roll would go unnoticed and that was fine.
"Just try and rememebr what I told you! Nothing here is real or long lasting." Though he wasn't so sure of that, not when he head something coming his way....the idea of a massive spider was doing nothing good for his nerves. He was yanking and pulling with everything he had. Swining as much as he could, to try and pull himself free, he swung out and he was sure he'd hit something...something big and hairy and with a shout he was free and not a moment too soon. He'd only just escape and with a die in hand he rolled it and scooped it all in one move before running with barely a glance at the number on the damn thing.

Leitner barely heard Hedwig over the sound of his own hyperventilating. When the die finally fell from his hand as more skin, muscle, and blood sloughed off onto the ground, he felt that push on his back again as he sobbed and scrambled to not fall. When it stopped, he sank to his knees in the bright square with his eyes shut, still tasting that noxious haze in his throat. He didn't want to look, didn't want to know, and whined as he stayed there waiting for whatever was going to happen next. Quote: Space 20: The end; once you have arrived here you are free to leave. You will see be basked in the glow of a beautiful, opalescent aura that will take you back home. If you arrived with a guest, you can leave without them or choose to stay until they make it to the end as well. When you arrive back in Destiny City, you may choose to keep the six sided die–if nothing else, it’s pretty! Though, it doesn’t seem to have any magical qualities, that might be for the best.

You’d best roll the dice so you don’t wind up a skeleton prop for the next player. Total: 18 Talk about eating your damn words. Maybe he shouldn't have been so calm, and maybe even harsh, with the other. The air was foul and green even, which was far from normal, and he did blame it on magic but he knew it couldn't mean anything good. Green was normally a color which meant bad things, at least in this context, and screamed poision. This was not going to be good, and he knew it, what he didn't know was just how bad. He didn't know that his words to the other...not so nice, and he would learn that soon.
Coughing and choking on the foul air he shook his head, rubbing at his eyes as if to get somethig out of them which was not there. That air couldn't be good, even as it vanished, to get into his eyes. When he brought his hands down it was with a shiver of cold. Ok...cold he could do. He'd lived thru cold winters here, in this city, before and this cold wasn't that bad...though he did want a coat over this uniform. His uniform provided no warmth...and he needed that right now. Maybe a hot bowl of soup also...he was hungry, something he hadn't noticed till now...maybe it was a new and sudden feeling? But when he looked down, while rubbing his hands along his arms, he paused for a moment before his hands were infront of his face for inspection. What had started off looking like innocent markings, or what passed for innocent here, suddenly became less so. His skin was coloring, gray and darkening, as holes seemed to start forming...
That was when his eyes went wide and he kept them locked on, he couldn't blink or look away, even as his breathing picked up and he shook. Biting down on his bottom lip, he could taste iron in his mouth, he wouldn't scream even if he wanted to. This had to be a dream...it had to - it was magic. This wasn't real. Even as he watched as a piece of skin and flesh fell off...tore away from his arm and landed on the floor.
This was magic, he would have said dream but he wasn't sleeping, this would all end soon - it had to. But as he watched the holes deepen, more flesh fall off, he finally decided he couldn't just remain here like an idiot. If this was magic than he needed off this sqaure for this to end. He needed to be free of it's hold. If this wasn't magic, because it sure looked and felt real, than he was so ******** the sooner he got off the sooner it would stop progressing - right?
That decided he threw his die and just moved, the walls would stop him from going too far. The die was picked up, with shaking fingers and a trembling hand that looked like it was starting to show bone. His stomach churned...and he was lucky he didn't puke...yet. He might just do that before he got out of here. "My stomach doesn't feel so hot..." Neither did he in general right now. But it was moving him and he was walking on shaking legs.

Hearing something vaguely now that he had started to get his breathing under control, but it was a bit longer before he got the courage to open his eyes and look back. It sounded like Hedwig was in that same haze, something he really didn't want to experience.
Getting up off the ground, he looked down and saw that his arm was better, only slightly burned from the snake or whatever had gotten him previously. Pressing a hand against the barrier, he tried to look through it to see the other.
"Come on!" Shouting even though his voice still shook from how the last square had gotten to him. Even now, he really wasn't sure he liked any of this, a sharp change from how the evening had started.
