Quote:
Vaclaytion (9) : With rain brings mud, which on its own isn’t particularly worrisome in a place like Destiny City. Unless you find a strange, thick, mud puddle in a fairly odd place. On the surface, it seems pretty straight forward–it’s a dirty brown, clay-like sludge that smells like earth. It just acts like something else. Step too close, and it moves. It grabs. Out of the puddles and patches of dark clay, a near-human shape unfurls and reaches an arm-like appendage out for the nearest living creature. With impossible strength, it can pull anyone into its mucky form. A hard clay shell immediately begins to form, capable of fully encasing someone in a matter of seconds. People have been found fully trapped. The only way to break out is for someone to chip away the clay, to somehow manage enough force to break it from the inside, or to pray a hard rain will soften it up enough for you to escape. It’s a wonder no one has suffocated yet. No one seems to remember what happened clearly–or if they do, it’s too impossible to believe. Ultimately, it’s a horrible experience; even if your skin feels oddly refreshed, this is the worst mud bath you’ll ever have.

Lacaille was out patrolling, looking for anything strange, considering with was the fall season she expected a lot to be strange; she had never known a peaceful holiday in this city. Halloween, Christmas, perhaps Easter and Thanksgiving were normal, but she wouldn't put it past the magic in this city to sully those holidays as well. She figured it was only a matter of time before a giant youma bunny started haunting the city. She shook her head at the thought. She also didn't want to think about a giant turkey monster that would be terrible. Hopefully, nothing as big as that world ender she did not want to fight something like that again. She was surprised they had survived that at all.

She saw what looked like a mud pile in the distance. Which was kinda odd. She went towards it to get a closer look. Not really thinking this would be anything weird but being careful in case it turned into something weird.

The cooling weather had done wonders for Sailor Bacchus’ mood. Even if some of the days were less than ideal, the nights’ temperatures had approached something resembling downright pleasantness. Even if the frogs were becoming less active. They’d hate the weather at home, on Bacchus. That heap. Not home.

Maybe they’d like the space around the hot springs. The ones that wouldn’t dissolve them, anyway. They definitely wouldn’t like the Chaos fueled fungal nightmares that came with the place. Earth did have its advantages in terms of the absence of world ending mycelia. So far, anyway. From what he’d heard he couldn’t rule out the possibility entirely.

He huffed slightly, rubbing his aching arm and hand. OK maybe the change in temperature had its disadvantages. Still, the pain was what it was and he’d take it over being constantly sweat-soaked and in pain.

Lacaille thought she was far enough away to be safe but it turned out she was wrong she was knocked over and pulled into the mudpit. It only took seconds before she was encased in a mud shell. She blinked in confusion at what had happened and once she figured it out she started trying to think how to get out. Since her powers weren't all that great for fighting, she didn't think that would help. She sighed out deeply this season was such a pain in the butt. She didn't think papercut would help her much in this case either. She wasn't sure if anyone was nearby or if they could even hear her if she tried to call for help.

It took Bacchus several seconds to register what exactly he was looking at when he spotted another senshi stuck in what looked like…a mud hole, of some sort. He choked back a bit of chuckle at a long distant memory. People who lived in a place like this probably didn’t have any nostalgic associations when it came to hungry pits of sediment. Granted, not a lot of people on Bacchus had those either. Even before they all died. But at least they were common enough that most of them knew how to get out. Ugh, this person probably didn’t though and he wasn’t exactly in a hurry to watch someone get crushed by mud. At least this one seemed to know not to struggle, not everyone got that on their first go. Breaking into an easy jog, he approached the edge of the mud and held out his right arm.

“Grab on. I can’t pull you out, but it’ll keep you from sinking in further.”

He planted his feet, glad that he hadn’t indulged too much yet this evening.

“Not that you could sink in completely, but just grab my arm and kind of wiggle your legs back and forth. That’ll move you up enough that you’ll be able to get out.”

It wasn’t quite like going back in time, but the words still sounded weird coming out of his mouth.

Lacaille didn't have any memories of being captured by mud, and her world was nothing like this mud hole, thank goodness. She had no idea how to get out of the mud this she was totally stuck. She didn't argue with the figure that told her to grab their arm. "I hope you have an idea for getting out of this since I don't" She really didn't want to stay in this mud hole forever. Lacaille shook her head since that was one of the parts of her body she could move. "This mud isn't normal mud, the mud grabbed me and started to harden. I can't move my legs." She explained.

She could feel the mud creeping higher and hardening as it went. "If I don't get out of here quickly, this is going to get a lot worse, I fear." She said. She hoped they understood or that she would get lucky and it would start to rain then maybe that would help matters since mud weakened when water was added. She kept her hold on their arm as she tried to think of a way she could help get her out of this mess. Luckily her senshi outfit was pretty much self-cleaning the dry cleaning bill would be insane otherwise.

Bacchus made a face as he leaned in closer. Even the mud pits here were aggravating. More aggravating. OK, he could figure out how to get this woman out. If it wasn’t packed too tightly his first instinct might be to stomp it out, but he couldn’t be sure if he’d hit the other senshi. Which would probably not do much to improve her situation, even if it might be fun.

“Alright, let’s see what I can do here.” He summoned the weird little tool Tempesti had given him from his subspace. It did have a lot of things in it. Which was strange. But it was useful. The side was a hammer. Right. OK he could do that.

Careful not to strike the senshi, he began chipping away at the mud encasing her. “This should get you out pretty quickly.” He hoped. It seemed like it would work.
