The week had both dragged and gone far too quickly for Celadonite’s liking, and he had tried to talk himself out of going, far too often. But.

He had made a promise, kind of. And that was how he ended up teleporting to the same area he had met up with Necro a week before, pacing slightly in the weak sunbeams that penetrated through the trees.

The warmth was wonderful, as it always was, but…he was worried. Not…not really frightened, but that was the closest word that the General could think of really, and when he felt the aura of a Squire, he stiffened and bared his teeth. It was a reflex, he was sure but…damn.

Stopping his pacing, Celadonite stood, rigid beside a tree, hands tensed, claws ready. “Is it you?”

His voice was stronger than he thought it would be, which was something. But. At least there were no other auras. Only the one. Only one, single Squire. He could handle a Squire if it came to it.

The week both fly by and crawled at a snails pace for Necro and he hated every second of it. A part of him wanted it to just end already, while another part kind wish it hadn't.

At least the weather was nice... He hoped there were no more bullshit leaf piles though.

"Yeah... It's me." Came the tired reply from the Squire as he show himself. "Just me. Like I promised." He mumbled, standing awkwardly, a bag in hand. He ran his finger over the strap nervously, nail snagging on the fabric thread. "It's for you. You never answered the question so I just.. Kinda assumed and brought something anyway."

Hearing the somewhat familiar voice made Celadonite relax just slightly, and he moved closer, nodding as the Squire came into view. “What is it?” There was still an edge to his voice, he was wary, but…curious too. And he did like presents. Who didn’t?

“What is it? I apologize, I don’t…remember not answering any questions but I was…a little overwhelmed when we last met, that’s the only excuse I have for myself.”

His eyes lingered on the bag though, and he honestly…was curious. “...Do I get to open it now, or are you going to hold it from me until I beg?” It was very nearly a joke, and Celadonite’s expression could almost be described as a smile.

"It's just one of my hoodies. I asked if you wanted me to bring you anything warm for when we met up again. I did actually offer a hoodie. I figured a hoodie would be better then a blanket.... Less... to snag on." Necro mumbled before offering the bag. "I tried to find one that wasn't..." The Squire waved a hand at his current uniform. "Whatever this is.. I tend to get my hoodies bigger then I need em too so it shouldn't catch on any scales."

That was the hope anyway.

"You don't beg." Necro mumbled. "I don't think, in all our time together, I've ever heard you beg. Not once."

Reaching out, Celadonite took the bag and withdrew the hoodie, looking at it for a long moment before carefully removed his furred cape and slid the hoodie on, tugging the sleeves down over his hands as best he could, then putting the cape back on.

“...Thank you. It’s very warm. And cozy.” And strangely enough, it kind of made him feel safe. Like it was a hug.

“Well, that’s because I’m better than that. But I might have said please a few more times. I like presents. And if anyone says that they don’t enjoy gifts…they’re liars. I believe it’s impossible to not enjoy them.”

He glanced down, playing with the pocket at the front of the hoodie and hesitated, clearly thinking something through. “I’m not…ready to go up to your Wonder though. I hope you can understand that…”

"I would have brought you a drink but... If memory serves, one of us ended sneezing snowflakes every time, was it?"

That, had been a very, very long time ago.

"I'll have to remember that for next time. Is that hoe I get you to come out more often? Just bring gifts?" Another thing to remember for next time.

Necro shook his head. "Cela... I wasn't expecting it to be a right then and there thing. I know that... thats a lot to handle on its own. I knoe you've been through a lot, and are still.. going through a bit. I wasn't trying to scare you or give you anything else to be anxious about. Honestly I was just trying to give you a chance to get away from everything for a little bit."

His shoulders fell slightly. "If Im honest? I.. don't really like being on my wonder most times. I was only really going to make the thing for you."

Celadonite watched him for a long moment and then slid his hands into the pocket, shrugging slightly. “I won’t ever say no to more gifts, but they’re not necessary. Look, your friend made it very clear that I had one chance and one chance only for this to work, and then I was too cowardly to take it, so I understand…I’ll have to work towards whatever…and I ask you to be patient with me, could…”

He drew in a breath and glanced around before hesitating a moment and sliding down to the ground, sitting and looking up at Necro, hoping that he would understand this was a display of trust.

“...Could you tell me about it? For when I’m ready to try to go?”

"You had one chance with him." Necro sighed, sitting next to the General and dropping his head on the others shoulder. "Scales, what do I have to do to make you understand thst you've got all the chances in the world with me. I'm always patient with you. When have I ever given you a reason to think otherwise?"

He sighed again, lingering for a moment before he sat up straight. "Also, for the record, I had no say in who got sent so. I'm sorry about that." He mumbled.

Right.... So... his wonder...

Yay.

"You did catch the part where I said the wonder wasn't what I wanted to show you right? That it wss just something on my wonder?" He asked, combing a hand through his hair. "Ah well.. We can get to that part later... Saturn is... kinda what you would expect, I guess. Doom. Gloom. In a weird way... it kind of reminds me of the rift? Only swap the janky crystals out for some spooky lookin trees. Maybe that's why I've always been so..." He made a face.

"My spot though... It seems like it's a temple? Or at the very least, I think its a temple. I haven't really explored the whole thing." Honestly, he wasn't sure he could.

Celadonite stiffened slightly when Necro touched him, but relaxed after a few moments. “...You are…very tactile, you know that?”

He relaxed a bit more when the Squire sat up and slumped slightly against the tree he was resting against. “Doom and gloom, hm? Doesn’t sound…great if I’m being honest…but. A temple? That’s interesting, I suppose…what…sort of a temple? Is there stained glass? An altar? Do you do human sacrifices…?”

Was he to be a sacrifice? The question went unasked but…

Celadonite was feeling it loudly in his soul. His fractured, broken, useless soul.

"Would you believe me if I said I really only do it with you?" No, he probably wouldn't. "I dunno. I guess I just... like touch. I don't know if that's a me thing, its left over from being a youma or what. I mean, there were times I was treated like a dog, but I didn't mind it. I was pretty big as is... So the few times I did shift, I..." He trailed off with a shrug.

"Yeah, I'm not... really thrilled about it either. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad it worked but I think I could have lived...the reminder of death. But then again, with my track record... I suppose it makes sense." He shrugged.

"It looks like it was dedicated to some gods. No, no stained glass. Yet. Again, I haven't explored the whole thing, but honestly I would not be surprised if there was." It would be cool if there was some stained glass. "I think there's an altar? But not like... The priest stands there and reads some shpeal kinda one. Looks more like... People would have left offerings. Which, -" He added quickly before Cela could make another quip. "Looked like it was mostly fruits and... plants? So no. No human sacrifices. Or at the very least I am not doing them. I don't have the stomach for that." He said, making a face.

“It’s not. The worst thing, I suppose. And I mean. You can put your head back on my shoulder if you want to, I just wasn’t expecting it and. I suppose I’m rather jumpy.”

Which…was to be expected, maybe. Kind of? Possibly.

“Are you going to leave any gifts there? Will you take up gardening?” That…could be fun. Gardening. Watching things grow, especially in some place that was doom and gloom…

“I bet there are spooky flowers that you can grow…for the vibes? Is there…sunlight there? Or is it cold?”

[Mistress Morbid]

"Hmmm If I do that, there is quite honestly a solid chance I would probably fall asleep. I uh, have not been sleeping well." A bit of an understatement, but Cela didn't need to know that.

"There is technically, a gift there already. It's just not at the altar or for whatever gods the temple was for." He glanced at Cela before picking at a blade of grass. "I'm sure there's some plants that could thrive there... Don't know how long that would be if I'm taking care of them though... I don't know how much of a green thumb I have.." Though there was only one way to find out.

"It's also kinda like... permanently twilight so.. Uh. Yeah. It's cold. Unfortunately. Not your favorite, I know. Believe me I thought about that. If we ever went, I was just going to get you a heavier hoodie. Or let you just have my jacket under your cape. Plus you know, there is the thing, up there that I think would solve that problem for a little bit." Necro wouldn't blame Cela if he didn't wanna go, honestly. "I really should... see if theres fire places, or something like that in there. I could probably rig something up." Necro mumbled.

"I'm not doing a very good job of selling this idea, am I?"

“If you need to rest, that’s fine.” Celadonite hesitated and chewed his bottom lip for a moment before shifting and draping the cape over Necro’s shoulders as well. “It sounds…interesting. As I said…I”m not ready right now…but. I would…enjoy seeing you again, if that would be all right?”

The idea of a place with no sunlight where it was cold…wasn’t…the greatest of thoughts but…

“Perhaps…I could see you in another week? If that would work? We could start…a thing? A…pattern of meeting? If you would be amenable to it…you’re not…not doing a bad job of selling it…I’m just. Still not ready…that’s all. It has nothing to do with your words.”

Necro sighed, though this time it was more relaxed, content. "I definitely need to rest. But spending time with you makes things easier." He said softly.

"We can meet up. Tell me when and where. Just.. Do me a favor? Please? If... Things don't go right. Can you tell me when you're just gonna...disappear and sleep till its warmer? That way I'm not.. Wandering the city like an idiot.. Again." The Squire drew his knees to his chest, resting his head chin on one leg. "But I am... amendable to it, as you put it." He turned his head then, moving his head to rest on his cheek instead. "Do you want me to tell you what it is next time? Or would you rather it be a surprise, if we go? I kinda wanted it to be a surprise.. But I don't know... Maybe it would be less awkward if I just told you." It would still probably be awkward.

“Meet me here in a week. I like this place. It’s quiet and private…and it feels…safe. You…go and work on making a fire on your wonder…I don’t…” He hesitated. “I don’t really make my own heat, so I would need a source of warmth…I don’t know…how long or how often you can go to your Wonder but…I need fire there…I don’t…do well in the cold. At all. And it’s only gotten worse as things have progressed…”

He didn’t know what it was that Necro wanted to tell him, but honestly the suspense was making him just a little bit uncomfortable, not that he wanted to admit it but…

“Tell me next time. And tell me that you’ve got some heat source set up…and then…and then we can make plans to go. I…might even want to go, by then…”
