Ican't remember what it is called...but I am taking it and it is making me sick. I can't stand it. It is bad enough I can't sleep, but to have to run to the bathroom to throw up or something...yeah...not my cup of tea. Anyone know what i am talking about?

I didn't have that particular reaction to Celexa, but I have had it to a lot of meds. Call your doctor immediately and get the okay to taper off that stuff. If you're in danger of being suicidal when switching anti-depressants, you may want to go to the emergency room and get switched rather than have to spend days puking your guts out waiting for your doctor to get you an appointment. I've been there. Hoo boy.

Even if you can't talk to your doctor before you're supposed to take the next dose, you might be able to take a smaller dose. If you've been taking two pills, just take one, and if you're taking only one, IF--I cannot stress enough IF you're taking a tablet--as opposed to a capsule--AND it doesn't have a CR, XR, SR, DR, ER etc. after the name, you can break the tablet in half and just take half of one.
I'm a pharmacy technician. As far as I know, there aren't any controlled-release/extended-release/whatever versions of celexa (aka citalopram), but I'm saying this to be on the safe side. Celexa, afaik, is usually in 10 or 20 mg tablets that can be broken.
The important thing is you stop taking a drug that's making you so sick. Your doctor will tell you to stop taking it gradually so you don't have any withdrawal effects, but (again, afaik) that's apparently not common with celexa.
Hope this helps, pm me if I can be of any more assistance!

They put me on abilify and celexa at once. They didn't even taper me off it, they just ripped me right off of it...so now I am all paranoid that my parents are poisoining my food and that my friends are out to get me and stuff. Not good...not fun either...I am afraid to go to work OR fireschool. If I can't trust people I know, how can I trust people I don't?

All I can suggest is talk to your doctor before the paranoia gets any worse!

I'm on Celexa right now, have been for almost three years, and have had my own adverse effects - nothing like what you're describing, though. I was 130lbs when I first switched to Celexa, not long after graduating high school. I can't remember why I switched, but it was in August - and by October I was 160lbs. I was still exercising, eating healthily, and everything I had done to GET to 130. The only change in my life was the Celexa - and 30lbs in three months isn't normal. Three years later and about 100lbs more than I was when I started the Celexa, my psychiatrist is finally ready to talk about switching me to something else to see if it helps me lose weight - or at least stop gaining it.

I am still pretty paranoid, but just being on the celexa alone is okay...I guess...I just always feel as though I have I have to watch my back or something...it is so annoying!

Celexa (brand of Citrolipram?) is one I take as well. It didn't make me ill, though, and SEEMS to be what I need. However, they have changed my dosage back and forth pretty often. Right now I am at 40 miligrams
