~Why You Are Here~

If you haven't read already elsewhere, you are here because either I have spotted you in one of Gaia's forums or someone has recommended you. Look around. Enjoy the place. You're welcome here, and we're all friendly. Our rules are fairly easygoing.

We represent all the forums here, so feel free to get others from your respective forum into the group.

~Rules~

Strictly enforced
~PG-13.
Don't do it. Keep images kiddie-friendly. We have young users, don't upset their parents. I know they can find it anywhere else on the internet, it will not be found here.

Nudity (ie. Porn)- 2 Warning Points
Disgusting Images (ie. Unholy Trinity)- Instant Ban

Nudity isn't allowed, but the different punishment levels are to show that we can be lenient. Instant bans will be handed out for some of these internet specialty images. Level of disgust is at mine and the moderators discretion.

We realize art can sometimes have nudity. If you feel you really would like to show off a piece, try to run it by a moderator first. If approved, you can only link to the image, no displaying the actual image in the guild. Appropriate warnings about the content can be given if it isn't approved, so run it at your own risk.

~Cybering.
Your life, and do what you want. If you meet someone special over the guild, that's great. And if this happens to be your thing, more power to you. But do NOT cyber in this guild.

~Scams.
This should go without saying, but I'll say it just in case. If you wanna rip someone off, don't do it here. It'll destroy the trust and feeling of a solid community we have for each other. We've got a nice forum right now with everyone getting along, so don't hurt your own family.

~Personal Attacks.
People get heated about things. And some people call names. And some people flat out don't like others. But I don't want to see people attacking others in here. Save it for the PMs.
We will determine what is a heated argument and what is being immature and name calling. Remember to RESPECT the rights of others to have opinions that differ from your own. If you think they are stating their opinion merely to insult or instigate you or are displaying it in such a way for that reaction, contact a moderator and give a link to where said incident happened. Remember, if you take the bait, YOU may be getting in trouble, not them.

~Guild Raids.
Don't take the bait. Seriously. PM someone, we'll start to ban en masse.

~Putting the Captain or Co-Captain on Ignore
Please, don't do it. If we can't contact you and it's a situation where we need to, there's needless hassle.

The reason for this that placing us on your ignore list makes it impossible for us to reply in threads you have created, or PM you if it is necessary. Of course you also cannot see threads we make, or our posts in other threads. By applying or accepting invitation to this guild, you are, in essence accepting the fact that from time to time it will be necessary to contact you via PM.

General Reminders
~Stupidity.
You are here because you are among the brighter population of Gaia. I'm not saying you can't make the occasional goofy post, but don't overdo it. I don't want the front page swarming with dumb posts. Also, don't make it so dumb that someone will cry when they look at it.

~Repeats
I'm not going to be terribly strict on this, but watch out for it. When the president of the US gets elected, odds are someone is going to beat you to posting about it. So just do a quick cursory scan of page 1 to see if it's around. Things like that.

Everything else is common sense. Remember you're all here because you're more mature and intelligent than some of the other Gaia members. Try to show it, okay? biggrin
Doesn't mean be totally stick up the arse serious, but you know.

*Special Gaia Moderator Rules*

Let our mods handle our problems. Abuse of your power in here will get you banned.

Bannings and Penalties FAQ

~Why did I get warned?~

-You were warned for either breaking Gaia ToS, our Rules and Guidelines, or starting drama with other members. We'll have everything listed in the moderator forum so we can tell you what exactly got you warned, and when a crew-member warns you the crew-member WILL mention why. If you have done something 'bad' you will most likely get a warning. If you continue the behavior that got you a warning you will be banned.

~What is the Parole List~

-These are the members that have been banned before, but have been let back into the guild or who have mules in the guild and have been banned. Zero tolerance for members on this list if they break a rule, and should be on best behavior.

~My mule account didn't do anything! Why was it banned?!

-You were banned, not your account. Any and all known associated accounts are banned as well. If you want to get back in on a mule (which cannot realistically be prevented), then you'll have to keep who you are a secret. If you are reported by another user to be a mule, we will investigate to the best of our knowledge before possible bannings.

~Can I be banned for no reason?

-No, there will always be a reason listed.

~Can you tell me why I was warned/banned?

-Everything is properly documented in the moderator forum, so we can tell you exactly what post got you banned.

~Can I come back after being banned?

-Possibly. This will be handled on a case by case basis. Contact the captain or crew in a respectful way about it for any hope.

~I didn't deserve that warning in my opinion. Can I do something about it?

-Look up the moderator who warned you and ask them about it. Also, justify why it isn't deserved. We are reasonable, we will listen. If you think the moderator that warned you has a personal grudge, contact Setzer ~Another~

~Thread Creation Guidelines~

Postwhoring-
Do not postwhore. Postwhoring is making a post again after the last person to post was you. It can be excused on occasion if you have two posts, one after the other. If you've got three and they're all you, you're getting a warning. The only exception to this rule is if you're setting up some sort of informational topic (kind of like this one).

Birthday Threads-
We know you have birthdays and you want to share them. Go for it.

These'll probably be left to die, although we may adjust it to lock these in the event the forum becomes more active and the need to remove clutter to make room for more discussable things on the front page arises

Introduction Threads-
When new to the guild, people may make their own introduction thread, despite the fact we have a sticky.

These'll probably be left to die, although we may adjust it to lock these in the event the forum becomes more active and the need to remove clutter to make room for more discussable things on the front page arises

"Necro" Threads-
Reviving a thread to continue the discussion if it is valid is okay, some people abhor making new threads. Reviving a thread to be a smartass will earn you a warning point.

Voting Threads- DON'T DO IT.
If you want to get votes by just asking friends, then you go PM them. You won't be doing it here.

Advertising Threads
Run any advertisements by someone first, hokay? Get someone's approval. There may be a directory thread made for people's shops in the future, but don't go making your own.

~Special Cases~

The Administrative staff of the UFG reserves the rights to allow exceptions to any rule on a case by case analysis.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

The Administrators also reserve the right to terminate the membership of any member without disclosing the reason for termination to anyone other than the party or parties involved.

This right is reserved only to Leyna.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Any questions regarding the reserved rights, what they entail, or clarification can be asked through PMs.

But the chances of exercising these rights are 99.999999999999999999% so don't freak out. This is just the legal stuff.
