"Ba-... Lo-... HOMGTHAT'SLOLITA!!!"
Being in the UK, and being very behind on America's Next Top Model (which I watch, because I'm sad), I was watching the show last night. Due to the fact that the girls were in tokyo, I was wishing for something lolita to come up. Just... Anything. And then they showed a lolita model! xd And the girls had to seperate, find any of the four Japanese clothing stores, and create a Baby Doll Lolita outfit. My God - it was so freakishly exciting. I was annoyed, though, because my outfit would have been 50 times better. whee They also spoke about Harajuku girls, and anime fashion, etc.. It was heaven.
Anyway!
Do you ever see Lolita fashion in the weirdest places? Or, do you see things and instantly think, "That's so Lolita!" No-one I know actually knows what Loli fashion is, so I always have the joy of explaining it - and when randomly shouting things out if I see a cute little girl in a frilly dress.. I do tend to get odd looks. xd

I watched that a few months ago when it came out in America.
I hated and loved that episode. I only loved it for they showed inside Metamorphose. Otherwise, those models were just really bitchy.
I watched Top Model to see their trip to Harajuku and was disappointed . I didn't expect them to like the fashion, but I did expect them to at least look at the clothing that some of the kids were wearing and say, "Wow! Look at that outfit! That must have taken so long to get together!" - some of the kids out there put so much work into their styles, those girls were just so damned disrespectful and stupid while in Tokyo.
As for the photo shoot...it was neat but I still thought it was crap because those girls had no respect for what they were doing.
"DOES ANYONE SPEAK ENGGGGGGLISH?!?!"
"I think you're scaring them!!"
Oh, and one other thing I liked about that episode was having them get lost in Tokyo several times, trying to find Metamorphose.
Oh, and to answer your question, NEVER. sad

There's a few stores at the mall that are for preppy and black people but I always find a cute lolita shirt, shoes, and skirts! They have some adorable and lolita or at least lolita-esque stuff!

I don't know. and yes, I have XD; Usually just little tiny things that could be considered lolita or put together to be such in ordinary American stores.

I saw a couple minutes of Top Model once. I decided to turn it off very quickly. The models are so bitchy and rather stupid.
Still, the fact that there was Lolita fashion in the show is very cool.

Darky-Timaru Do you ever see Lolita fashion in the weirdest places? Yes! It's not unusual anymore to see these 13-17 years old kids in the city centre, with "rabid dir en grey fan" written all over them. It's so wrong, because mostly those jrock kiddies have got the idea of lolita just so totally.. wrong. Totally unmatching colours and fabrics, eyeliner all over the face and then wearing some ragged lace around their necks and wrists just so that they'd be even slightly lolita-ish >_>.

crying I don't see anything loli anywhere I'm at except when it's on my body. Or if I'm digging through the Costuming closets in my Drama Dept.

I saw that episode a few months ago. I taped the episode, and I watch it at least once a week.
Amanda was the only one who seemed to know what she was doing.
Eva really bothered me with the whole, "ENGLISH PEOPLE!" thing because, well, you're in Japan -- do you expect everyone to be fluent in English?
Another thing that kinda bothered me is that they hijacked Aya's outfit from PLC -- and that brat had to wear it.
I don't expect everyone to be extremely open to EGL everywhere -- but it was annoying to hear, "How dumb do I look?"

Yes I saw that too! It was quite exiting to see inside of the shops! However, I was very angry at the girls ignorance. sweatdrop Did they HONESTLY think everyone in Japan was going to learn english for them? xd Thier outfits could've been better, but they were cute. And I loved the anime shoot. whee I often do the same thing as you! Im always thinking how cute anything remotely loli is. Then I will mentally add abit more lace to it. xd

I was at the mall (Pacific Mall, it's the best mall when it comes to cool lolita things and anime stuff) and there was this really preppy looking girl in her bussness outfit but she had black, leather, pink outlined platforms with crosses at the front. It was so weird! she wasn't asian either. She looked like she was in her 30's
