Chenza was enjoying the sunny day from beneath the shade of a tree. She didn't really have a desire to do much of anything other than occasionally hit the water in the nearby water hole with her tail. Pretty circles. Shiiiiny water. Okay, she was bored, but she wasn't in the mood to do anything about it. So the clay brown wild dog's bright orange eyes scanned the area for something that would make her less bored.

User ImageThe grass was warm. The clay-hued juvenile lioness smiled as she crunched her small but growing paws in the warm grass. Everything seemed so much more appealing in the pridelands. She couldn't help but purr with delight. For the first time in her life, Kia felt like a tourist, she didnt act as if she owned the ground she walked on either. Instead, the young female was humbled by the new found beauty she saw before her.

She slowly approached a waterhole, she grinned and stuck her tongue out as she leaned over the crystal waters. She laughed as she shook her head vigorously and distorted her face as she watched her expressions change over the glass like surface of the water. Although her reflection was warped slightly as a few ripples skidded over the image of her face, the image wasnt completely broken until Kia touched her tongue to the water and began to lap up small scoops of the cool liquid

The wild dog glanced curiously at the young lioness. "I've never really been this close to a lion before. Aren't lions supposed to be bigger?" she asked. Chenza didn't mean to be rude; she was simply confused, as something didn't fit quite right here. Lions were supposed to be big scary cats. But she was glad to have something to puzzle over instead of simply watching the funny ripples. Although now the funny ripples were coming toward her tail instead of away from it, so that was amusing as well. "My name's Chenza," she said, still watching the curiously small lioness.

User ImageKia's large green eyes strayed from her own distorted image to peer up curiously at the canine like creature that was right before her. She stopped drinking and straightened her posture as she hiccuped once, slightly surprised that somebody besides her was there. She was a rather oblivious creature, Kia was. Although somehow, she wasn't afraid of the other creature at the water hole, she seemed friendly enough. However, something this canine said did catch Kia's attention.

"I beg your pardon?" she said "You've never been this close to a lion?" this puzzled Kia. Wasn't the big pointy rock supposed to be the home to an enormous amount of lions? Perhaps she was at the wrong place.... or perhaps Hivu had given her false information. She immediatly pushed these ideas out of her head, but she didnt answer the other's question. The big pointy rock was supposed to be crawling with lions. How could it be possible that this canine had never been near to one.... unless

"You aren't a hyena are you?" her eyes grew slightly larger as she stared the canine down, no she didn't look anything like the maned dog she had seen before. She swallowed hard, she hadn't after all come to the big pointy rock to become someone's dinner.

Chenza rolled over in a fit of giggles. "A hyena? Goodness no; I'm a wild dog. I wander around the wild. I think that's why they call my species wild dogs," she said as she frowned and went into a moment of deep thought. "Anyway, I don't have a pardon, so I don't know what your beg could do to something that doesn't exist." She yawned and stretched a bit, taking a bit of time before she finally answered the lioness's first question. "Nope, I've never been this close to a lion before. The big lions scare me, so I always run away. Are there more small lions around here? This place must be most interesting!"

User Image"phew" the lioness exhaled a long drawn out breath in relief as a smile returned to her face, especially when this wild dog began to speak something of pardons and begs. She chuckled quietly, she could see now why she wasn'nt afraid of this wild dog to begin with. She was quite the agreeable sort.

"The big lions? What are you talking about.... I am big!" she smirked and puffed out her chest. She raised an eyebrow smugly "and I am very very scary" she roared, sending herself into a small fit of laughter, knowing that such a young lioness like herself couldnt be counted as either big or scary, not matter how big thier egos were. Kia had first hand knowledge.

"Oh," Chenza said. "If you say so." At which point she hid her head underneath her paws and started cowering and whimpering in genuine fear. She didn't really have much knowledge on lions to begin with, and if this lioness said that she was scary and big, then she must be big and scary. The logic was so simple.

User ImageKia stopped laughing for a moment, her mouth hung half open as she watched the wolf in complete confusion. Was she truly afraid of her? The thought made her bust into more manic laughter as she collapsed to her back and kicked her hind leg against the ground in emphasis of how funny she found the situation "no, no, no!" she said, muffling shrieks of laughter "I'm not scary, don't believe me"

she rolled onto her side to face the wolf as she propped her head up with a paw, a grin still on her features "Looky here, I'm not even fully grown yet.... there's no way I'm scary.... and look at me. I'm half your size! Don't worry about me" she smiled, nodding as if what she said would make everything instantly better

And strangely, it did so, to a certain extent. "Oh, you aren't scary after all. That's good news," she said. "Though if I'm not supposed to believe you, how could I believe you when you say you aren't scary?" she asked, as she froze in this confusing conundrum of logic. "Well, I suppose I shall have to see if I can believe you," She said as she stood up and squinted as if she was measuring herself to the lioness. "Hmm...I think you are four sevenths my size. But it's close enough. I won't worry about you."

User Imageshe rose a brow, but broke into laughter once more as she continued laying down 'the facts' about everything she had just said. This certainly was an interesting creature, a rather bipolar creature, but she made Kia laugh and that was quite the change from the last canine she had met who made her cry. Neither turned out to be very scary however.

She slowly rose back to her fours "My name's Kia" she said with a smile on her face "May I ask what your name is, Miss?" alas. She must not have been paying attention before.

Now it was the wild dog's turn to laugh at what the lioness said. Now the silly questions were starting again. Apparently this lioness was a silly creature rather than a scary creature. But Chenza was enjoying this silliness; perhaps a bit too much for her own good. "My name's not Miss, it's Chenza." she said. "It is nice to meet you, Kia. I am glad that you are not scary."

User ImageShe laughed "Well then, it goes both ways, because I'm glad you're not a hyena!" she smiled "It's very nice to meet you too Chenza." she offered a single sharp nod before looking back to the watering hole and inspecting her own image once more "Chenza, did you say you saw lots of big lions around here?" if that was true.... she must be at the right place.

"Lots of big lions? Well, I don't know how many of them are around if I see one; I usually run away if I see one. But I did see one the other day. It went thataway," she said, tilting her head in the general direction of Pride Rock. "I ran here, of course."
PostPosted: Sat Jun 17, 2006 11:25 am

User Image"Naturally." It made sense, if the lions lived all at the big pointy rock then Chenza would want to run away from them especially with how afraid she seemed of them. "You know, your fear of lions is probably unneccesary.... most of us are rather nice fellows!" she smiled cheerfully, splashing her paw in the water and sending small droplets of water flying for no reason at all. "In fact, I'm sure that you could scare plenty of lions yourself" she raised both of her eyebrows and gazed at Chenza inquisitively "Pray tell, have you ever tried barking?"

The young lionness grinned. A canine's bark could be a fierce weapon. Perhaps with a bark Chenza wouldnt be so skittish about felines being that she at least would know how to fend them off.

"Fellows?" Chenza asked. "You mean most of the lions are male? You poor dears. But at least they're nice fellows." she said, shaking her head and frowning as if she were thinking of a truly sad situation for the lions, and pitying them now instead of fearing them. "Oh, I can bark, but my mommy said it was rude to bark, and I don't like being rude." She grinned as if she were wearing a badge of pride that read, 'CHENZA IS NOT RUDE!'
